Video Settings on WoW on New iMac.

Just got a new iSight iMac and World of Warcraft. Running 1GB of ram. There are a bunch of video settings in this game that can be adjusted. Suggestions or would it best to just leave them on default.

Larry,
Try performing a Google search of world of warcraft mac graphics settings. With the popularity of the game, you'll get quite a few hits, One such hit is:

  • Is there a Thunderbolt to Component Video cable / adapter for the new iMac?

    Hello!
My church is looking to purchase a new iMac to run our presentation software.
We currently have a PC that has a graphics card which has a component-out cable.  We connect that to a component video distribution amplifer to distribute to several HDTVs and a projector.
Is there a way to connect the iMac to a component video (Y, Pb, Pr or Red blue Green) input?
I understand that DVI is digital and Component is analog, but has anyone found a device, cable, and/or adapter that will do the job?
    Thanks,
    Randy

    There's at least this one:
    http://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Composite-Video-S-Video-Converter/dp/B004VV8R8 6
and the review says that it works with current Macs, but I can't verify.
    Regards.

  • Video not working on my new imac

I recently purchased the a new iMac.  I have used one for years at my office and often use the facetime feature for conference calls.  However, my new imac seems to have an issue.  The video won't pull up on facetime or any other video.  I can hear and talk on facetime, but no video.

Go to your Applications folder and open Photo Booth. If the iSight camera is working, you will see yourself on the screen. If it is not, take the iMac back to the store - it's under warranty.

  • Bad video=Bad logic board in new iMac?

Just had 2 less than fruitful phone call with Apple; my one month old imac has suddenly developed horrible video problems. (pixelated screen, messed up images, missing info/icons from desktop)
Apparently the logic board is bad and needs to be replaced. Our local mac shop is with the university and is closed until January 17, so we are without the computer until then?
We can't send it in, and the other nearest store is 150 miles away.
Tech people said they've been hearing this... but I thought the problem was resolved before this new line came out? Plus no support for a month?
Sorry quite frustrated by the non-options right now. Is anyone else in the same boat or familiar with this situation? Thanks.
    iMac G5 isight   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I received my isight mid-November and within a couple of hours, my screen started having problems. Required new logic board. Logic board installed by my local Apple store. Haven't had a problem since -- perfectly quiet too!

  • Adding second mac to TC - what settings to make TC visible to new iMac?

I just bought a new iMac; I have a macbook air and I back up to the Time Capsule.  But the new iMac cannot "see" the TC - so step 1:  where's the adjustment in the TC settings to allow the new iMac to see and then backup to the TC?

How is the new imac connected to the network? If it is connected to the network via the TC and getting internet even if it cannot view the TC. Then there is no adjustment... just reboot everything.. start with everything off and power up in sequence with 2min lag.. modem.. router (if not TC).. TC.. switch and other network stuff.. clients.
    It should magically appear..
If not start by loading the 5.6 utility
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Lion one is a toy.. 5.6 is a tool.
Still no TC access then a reset will be necessary but try at least with ethernet .. wireless is always problematic.

  • Transferring files from MacBook Pro to new iMac via Firewire

    Hi guys
My MacBook Pro is seriously on its way out and I would like to transfer my music files, work documents, photographs, videos etc. onto my brand new iMac and the best way to do this I would think would be to link the two up via Firewire. The MacBook Pro is no longer accepting my external hard drive and fails during during DVD's, so those options are out.
So I was wondering if someone could advise me on what type of Firewire cable to get. As far as I'm aware I didn't get one with either the MacBook Pro or the new iMac, so I think a purchase is necessary however, I've spotted that there are different kinds with different ends, some which have 6-pin, 8-pin and 9-pin and I have no idea what to get. Could someone advise me on what would be the best item to get for this situation?
My MacBook Pro is one that was the model before the black keyboards came back in, and the iMac is the brand new one at 21".
    Thanks for your help guys.
    Steve.

    Hi
FireWire 800 / FW800 / IEEE 1394b uses a 9-pin connector for both the imac and the macbook pro.
    good luck.

  • Premiere pro CC2014 crashes on new imac with AMD Radeon R9 M295X

Premiere Pro CC2014 starting up crashes with error "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules"
We use new iMac with OS X 10.10.1 and graphic card AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096MB which is working faultlessly with all Adobe programs including Premiere Pro CC. Only Premiere Pro CC 2014 crashes and asks for viodeodriver.  No alterations can be made on iMac. Apple guarantees graphic card specifications. It seems to us obvious that PremierePro CC2014 is not compatible with this graphic card. We are completely stuck in our work for more than 2 week!! Does anybody can bring help? If necessary we can send crash report. Thanks!

  • New iMAC - How to move data over from PC?

    Hi,
Just bought the new iMac 27" to replace my PC. What is the best way to move all my music, videos, and apps to the new iMAC?
I have music bought from iTunes and downloaded from CDs - also have apps and videos bought from iTunes....
So far all I can figure is use memory sticks to move the data over and then try to place all the stuff in the correct folders so iTunes will see it. But there must be a better way.
    thanks
    Rob

Thanks for the info. So the links says I can simply take all my music, video, and photo files and move them to the iMac via a memory stick.
I guess it doesn't matter if I bought the files on iTunes or if I had them on the PC via a CD?
I'll start with trying to figure out how to get all the music, video, and photo files over to the iMac and getting iTunes to recognize them (like the PC did).
Second, I'll need to hook up my iPhone to the iMac and sync. Anything I need to know before I do something like that?
    thanks,
    Rob

  • Add clip using previous clip video settings (transform/crop/distort)

    Hi everyone!
I made a slideshow of five images for a certain car wax called "Glacier". I am now going to use the same slideshow but replace the images for another car wax called "Concorso". Therefor I need to replace the images of this Lambourgini with images of a Mercedes. How do I replace images/clips and reusing the video settings? When I trying to replace, it resets the video settings accordingly to the new image (of the Mercedes) which is a 1920x1080 px image. I would be very grateful for some help, this is my first post in the community. A question I asking me is; should I make the slideshow in Motion 5?

    Tom Wolsky wrote:
CCopy the image you're going to replace. Use the shortcut to do the replace edit and then use Shift-Cmd-C to paste attributes to the replaced clip.
Maybe it is obvious, but I think you meant to write Shift-Cmd-V :-)

  • PLEASE HELP - No Audio or video on new iMac

    Hello all.
I have a new iMac. 3.5months old. Just this week it started acting up on me. I cannot play any audio or video files. itunes won't play songs, YouTube won't play videos, etc. I can't figure it out. I've tried renewing Quicktime but it says i already have the newest version installed. When i try to play youtube vids for example....i get the 'blue lego icon' with a question mark beside it.
If anybody has any insight into this than please let me know.
    Thanks
    Overly Frustrated

What software have you installed during the past week, as in shortly before the problem developed? Have you recently used Maintenance applications like Onyx, etc?
When you try to play music in iTunes and it doesn't work, exactly how does it not work? Do you get some kind of error message? Does iTune act like it is playing the music but you just can't hear it? When you examine the Sound settings under System Preferences, does anything look questionable?
Take a movie you would ordinarily play using QuickTime. Highlight the movie file and then Right click on it. Under "Open With" are you given multiple choices of applications to open the file? Do any of them work?
If you do the same thing with a Music file NOT located within iTunes, are there any applications that work?
What browser are you using to access YouTube?
Sorry, no answers. Just more questions.

I just switch from a pc to a new imac 20 inch with 4gb of ram, I install WOW and my video setting are awesome, however, model option is set to 1x, so I set it to 2x and when I do 2x I am getting like 17-25 FPS, however on 1x I get up to 60 FPS, is this something with WOW or the imac?

  • Cannot send nor receive email on new iMac; migrated settings from MacBook

I just recently bought a new aluminum iMac. I migrated files & settings, including Mail settings from my MacBook to the iMac. Despite the copied settings, I cannot send nor receive messages on the new iMac. I have always been able to send & receive e-mail on my MacBook, so I would think the same settings should work on the iMac.
I have tried Connection Doctor, and I am getting successful connections on both the POP Account and SMTP server.
I have compared settings between the MacBook & iMac, and they are the same. My MacBook uses Tiger and doesn't have the option of default & custom ports. It is set to port 25. I have tried custom ports of 25 & 587 on the new iMac as well as the default port option. None of those seem to work.
Is there something else that could be wrong or anything else I can try? Thanks ahead of time for any assistance.

    This might work:

How to I burn to a DVD my project edited on my new  imac
If you are still within your 15 day return period.  Call Apple they will sent out iDVD at no charge.  (There are no realistic substitutes.)
Nicely explain that you may return the computer without iDVD.  You MUST speak to a senior advisor to get a free copy. The first tier people cannot do it.

If that doesn't work you can purchase iLife 11  (includes iDVD) on disk.
IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.

  • New imac to tv help:  mDVI to DVI cable, DVI to component video adapter?

I am getting my new imac tomorrow, very excited. I would love to be able to hook it up to my HD tv which has component video inputs.
It has two by the way, one says component video, one says component video HD. (that's the one my xbox is hooked up to.)
I think I'm getting like 1020p or something like that?
am aware of the lack of sound, but will have the imac hooked up to speakers so no worries on that.
will this chain work? mDVI-DVI cable, DVI to component video adapter? then what? component video cable to tv?
so I will need to buy two adapters and one cable right? Also, the cable is gonna need to be about 30ft long so will I be able to daisy chain cables?
PS, what kind of resolution will I be getting with the standard (none component HD) inputs?
thanks for the help. The info on the mac sight about adapters in not very specific to this hodge podge.
