Video Streaming on Web Browser from Web Camera

How to run Web Camera on to the Web Browser through JAVA and JMF?

How to run Web Camera on to the Web Browser
through JAVA and JMF? As someone who has written dozens of applets, and
helped debug hundreds of them, I can tell you that
applets are not for beginners.
Whenever I must have an applet that is any more
than completely trivial, I will code it as a combined
application/applet, if only for making testing faster
and easier.
Further, if you have a working application, it can be
'launched from a link', just like an applet, but using
web start.
I suggest you put aside the applet idea for the
moment, and concentrate on doing this in an
application.
When that is working, you can decide whether
to launch it using web start, or embed it as an
applet in a web page.
Here is an example of launching JMF (the
player) using web start.
http://www.javasaver.com/testjs/jmf/#test5
As far as coding for a web cam, a quick Google leads to..
"Here is the source code to JMF Webcam app + saves jpeg"
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=247253
2 notes:
1) I found that URL for the web cam code using
Google. I have never dealt with web cams myself.
2) Normally I ignore threads with no dukes. I am
usually pretty busy, and dukes indicate how
important a thread is - to whoever is asking.
So, if you want to complete this task faster, you might
- search for answers first.
- add dukes to any question, to indicate interest.

  • Can you move a video taken on the iPad from the camera roll to 'Videos' without syncing through iPhoto?

    Pretty simple question that I can not figure out the answer to. Can you move a video taken on the iPad from the camera roll to 'videos' on the go?

    I can do it on my iPhone and, according to the iPad manual (p. 58), you can do it on an iPad.
    Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Streaming video using a web camera is choppy

    Hello,
    I have an swf program built with flex which displays video from a web camera. The problem is that the the video is being displayed a bit choppy. You can see an example at https://www.completelyonlinetestserver.com/Flex/videobox.html. Try holding a piece of paper with writing in front of the camera and you will see that the writing is very choppy.
    What can I do to make the video clearer?  Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hmmm...I dont have the drivers installed on my computer for my web cam to work, but when I compile that example do get the trace output, "You need a camera.".  So that part works.  Below is the code ported into an MXML file.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
                    layout="absolute"

              private var video:Video;
            public function CameraExample()
                stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
                stage.align      = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
                var camera:Camera = Camera.getCamera();
                if (camera != null)
                    camera.addEventListener(ActivityEvent.ACTIVITY, activityHandler);
                    video = new Video(camera.width * 2, camera.height * 2);
                    video.attachCamera(camera);
                    addChild(video);
                else
                    trace("You need a camera.");

  • How to do Audio/Vedio streaming between web cams and back end servers?

    I want to implement an internet chat  application, I mean, I want a front end, which connects a web cam (mic  and speaker). So, I can send videos and audios to a back end server (do  flash streaming? but I am not sure what good product out there I can  use), and also send both A/V to another computer on the internet. In  other words, need a front end that sends local a/v from webcam  (&mic) to backend and receives remote a/v from backend to webcam  (and speaker) + backend streaming server.
    Any suggestions of techniques to be used? What back end flash streaming  server should I sue? How to acquire A/V from web cam (& mic) and how  to send A/V to web cam (&speaker) to play?
    Thanks a lot!

    Front end development:-  You can use Flash CS4/CS5 or Flex Builder.
    Back-end Programming - Server-side programming is basically done using ActionScript. You can use Flash CS4 , but there is no need for special authoring tool, you can do with even text-editor. After you author, you just need to place files at proper location on FMS.
    Front-end runtime - You just need Flash Player installed , basically active-x or plug-in in your browser - which you would already have by now
    Also if you decide to write AIR application for your front-end, you will need AIR - which is again free
    Hope that answers your questions

  • Capture a photo or video through my web cam

    Greeting for the day to every one !!
    I am trying to provide a facility in my project that any one capture his photo or video through web cam in their own computer. Is it possible in oracle /d2k ?? if yes please help me regarding this. How can i invoke my web cam through oracle/d2k and capture the photo.
    Any one help me ..

    You will have to free some space up on your iPhone. Buying more iCloud storage will not increase the capacity of your iPhone. For the most part iCloud storage is for your iOS backups, documents such as iWork files and iCloud email. Aside from iTunes Match and PhotoStreams which do not count towards iCloud storage you can not store media files on iCloud. PhotoStream is not a photo backup service nor does it support video yet, it's intended use is for sharing and transferring photos to other devices.
    Not sure of your setup but chances are you have a lot of video and photos on your iPhone taking up your storage space. These should be copied over to a computer where they can be properly backed up and organize. Once organized you can transfer them back to the iPhone through iTunes. You can sync a smaller number to free space. Or since you have a copy on the computer it is now possible to delete the photos from your iPhone when have the need to make a new video. Settings/General/Usage/Photos & Camera then swipe sideways to reveal the delete button is a quick way to delete photos in the library when you need more space. Ensure you still have a backup on a PC and an external drive.

  • Captivate Video Recording via web cam?

    Is it possible to do Captivate Video Recording via USB web cam? All I can see so far is about its ability to record screens and applications, but not do an actual video recording via a video camera input. Audio is no problem allowing you to insert audio from a file or do a live audio insert. Video however seems limited to insert from a file only. This would seem to imply you need a separate video recording application to capture video via a camera input, which is obviously disappointing if that's the case.

    Thanks. Hopefully they will add this basic functionality to Captivate ASAP. It's a missing fundamental element. i.e. to be able to add video annotation to your slides. Lectora Publisher does it and so should Captivate in my view, given it's supposed to be among or overall ahead of the leading products. Seamless audio / video annotation is a very common requirement nowadays.

  • Ipod video streaming to a browser

    I am new to IOS.  My task is get the video streamed from iPad and show it in a browser using HTML5.
    Can somebody help me out in finding the video output formats from iPad? Is that varies between applications??
    I assume its a component 780p output. But wanted to confirm.

    It might be the wireless connection between the PS3 and the BT router thats causing the picture to freeze, check the area where your PS3 is located for any interference. Maybe all you need to do is relocate the PS3.
    Cheers.

  • Video uploaded to an iPad from a camera

    It says under the tech specs that the iPad can import (with camera connection pack) photos and VIDEOS from your camera.
    I have a Canon camera that shoots 1080P video...the iPad doesn't list 1080P video as a supported type...
    1) What happens to those imported videos? How do they show up under the iPad interface?
    2) Is there any way to view those videos on the iPad (without manually converting them on a mac 1st)? Can the iPad do some conversion of its own to show the videos after they are imported?

    Try putting the video file in the photo sync folder, launch itunes and highlight the file in the folder. Then go to itunes, advanced pulldown menu and selecting "Create ipad or apple tv version". If the file is compatable, itunes will tell you. If not, it should start conversion.
    The above is from memory so a step may be slightly different, but the idea is there.

  • Problem regarding the transmission of video Through TCP/IP acquired from USB camera

    I want to transmit video using TCP/IP protocol acquired from USB camera. Acquisition is done well but when I place the TCP VIs in the acquisition VI then the trouble begins and I can’t even get the video in that particular VI which was acquiring video and working fine previously.
    Interesting thing is that both Cam Server and Cam Client VIs was transmitting video in the very first run. After that I don’t know what happened.
    I am using lab view 8.2.1.VIs are attached.
     Please help me out.

    Hi Shoaib,
    Here's an example I was testing mixing IMAQdx and the Simple TCP/IP Messaging Protocol (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4095) to send up a video client/server app with a USB camera that I was testing with.

  • Facebook Video Calling freezes web cam

    I am facing an issue when placing video calls via facebook either on Safari or Chrome ( I haven't tried other browsers). The problem is that when I place the call, I can see my own image (video) on the top right corner (small window), but I can't see the other person's video on the big window. Everything freezes by the time the person I am calling accepts the call. The problem does not happen when I place a call on Skype.
    If anyone knows how to solve the problem, I'd really appreciate.
    Regards,
    Diego

    HI,
    There is or was a setting at Facebook that was need to be set for "other" Browsers.
    It seemed to allow Logins from a different computer such as a Library and Internet cafe service.
    It also seemed to be needed for app like iChat and Messages to also be able to log in.

  • Problems with Flash video streaming in any Browser (Windows 8.1)

    Hello.
    Since maybe the last Chrome update (to version 42.0.2311.90 m - I tried both 32 and 64 bits versions) or some Windows 8.1 updates (I don't know for sure), flash videos don't even start to buffer - they only play after the full content is downloaded (or loaded in the site's player) . So, If I try to watch a video from a Flash Player based interface (like Dailymotion, or Vimeo), I have no streaming, and I have to wait a long time, watching a "1%" or a load wheel until the full content is available to watch.
    This is happening with all browsers, not only Chrome (IE and Firefox too). I tried to update flash player (first, version 17,0,0,169 and then tried the beta, the one released April 14, 2015). No difference at all. So, I think this might be a problem with the flash player itself, or with some Windows settings.
    So, lets go to the facts:
    - That happened suddenly for no apparent reason - one day it was working, and on the other day it wasn't;
    - I have the latest versions of all browsers I use (Chrome, IE and Firefox);
    - My Flash Player version is, currently, the latest version;
    - I tried old Flash Player versions. didn't work;
    - This is not happening with HTML5 video players, like Youtube, so i think it's not a codec problem;
    - I have the latest nVidia graphics driver. And it was happening even before I update the driver (I have a GeForce GTX 770);
    - I tried disabling the hardware acceleration on Flash settings, nothing happened;
    - I use default Windows Firewall and Defender. Tried to disable firewall, nothing happened;
    - I had searched all over the internet for the answer, but I can't find it. I already did all what the troubleshoot pages from Adobe said to do;
    - My internet connection is fine. It's a fast connection, and It's on wireless. I have several PCs connected to this network and flash videos work fine with them, only in this specific machine isn't;
    - I tried uninstall flash player and install again several times, with several different versions. Didn't work;
    - Tried disable different versions of flash player on Chrome too, nothing happened.
    The thing is, I can imagine that this might not be only a flash player problem, but since it's the only plugin problem I have, I thought that you might have the answer.
    Thank you.

    Please work through the video troubleshooting guide.

  • Video Streaming stops go stops from Air to ATV3

    Hello,
    I have buyed ATV 3. When I look youtube video on my Mac Air perfect. But when I want to stream it
    to ATV3.
    After 3 seconds the video stops go stops go .....
    What can be the reason?
    Distance to router perfect. ATV3 can stream from inside software perfect.
    Thank you
    Regards from Germany
    Robert

    Hello Winston,
    I was initially just trying to watch ANY trailers. Virtually everything on ATV stalled after a minute or so. Switching to exclusively wireless n transmission from the AEBS seems to have fixed everything. We haven't tried to download movies, but probably won't since we're on satellite internet and have a fair access policy that limits our downloads to 17 gig a month. That's plenty for youtube and other normal usage, but I'm afraid too many movies would mess things up.
    Wildblue has a configuration utility that we can set up on the computers, but nothing like that for ATV. I had thought that might be the problem originally, so I used a macbook (2.0 CD) that hadn't run the configuration setup, and it still worked fine for youtube stuff.
    I didn't know things were streaming from different sources, when I was trying to watch the same video. Makes sense though. Thanks for the reply.

  • Importing video files that are NOT from your camera

    Is this possible? I have a video file in my library that was taken by cousin and I cannot for the life of me add it to my project. Please help!

    I don't know what format you are using, but we also got a video from a PC that had been edited on that platform. By running it through a freeware program called Handbrake (this doesn't allow for URLs, but you can get it easily by searching Handbrake for video), I was able to convert the original format into a .mov file that would open in iMovie. You may want to try it. We tried some other programs to convert it, but HB was the only one that synced the audio correctly for us.

  • How do i drag a video into imovie 0'9 from a camera

    okay so i have my canon camera SX40 HS, and it's already on my desktop so how do i drag it to imovie?

    Hey,
    You just need to import the file through file - import movie inside iMovie. It will then import it to an event and you can start editing with it. You could also plug the camera into the computer and import from camera inside iMovie as well.
