Videos missing from backup?

i got a new device and i backed up my old one onto my mac and when i restored my new iphone everything was okay execpt i cant find my videos, they didnt back up onto my iphone and i cant find them in iphoto???

Then you did not backup correctly as a correctly done backup will have an exact copy of everything
However since you do not bother to tell us what you have or how you backed up or how you restored it is not possible to tell you any more than that
If you would lkie some help then tell us what version of Iphto you have and what version of the OS - exactly how you backedup and restored and any other details that would let a total stranger who only knows what you tell them assist you

Videos missing from iPhoto after prompted to clear from memory card

I just imported a couple of videos from my GoPro camera into iPhoto. After the videos were imported, I created an album. Once the videos finished importing I was prompted on screen to erase the video's from the memory card and that the import was complete. I did erase them. I then imported more pictures and videos from my regular camera into iPhoto and also following the prompt to erase the memory card post import. The pics/video from the regular camera are there, but my GoPro videos are not. I cleared the memory card so I can't re-import them. It seems they have to be on the computer somewhere since it said "Import complete, Erase Memory Card". Are they still on here somewhere or gone forever?

Create a smart album with the criteria
and check there to see if you can find the missing videos. If not then you'll need a file recovery app like PhotoRescue to try too recover the files from the memory card. There are other similar apps that can do the job. Go to MacUpdate.com and search for photo recovery. Most have a demo mode to show you if you can recover the file before you have to purchase it.
Never let iPhoto or other import app delete the files form the memory card. It's best to make sure the download was successful and that all files are viewable/playable before deleting from the menory card.d When memory cards are involved it's best to let the camera reformat the card than let the app or the Mac do the deleting/reformatting.

Videos missing from Home Sharing (on Apple TV 2)

We have home sharing turned on successfully through iTunes, including for iPhoto pictures (through iTunes) and have turned on sharing videos. We can view pictures (going back to the beginning of our library nearly 10 years ago), and I can see nearly 300 videos. However, many (most) of our videos don't appear downstairs (even though they show up in a smart "All Videos" album on iPhoto). Formats that are appearing downstairs include QT and 3GPP (and go back well over a year) - many of the videos missing appear to be AVI (though at least one AVI format video appears). That's 700+ missing videos.
Can you advise what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

Going to try a signal booster this all started with the TV upgrade. The only reason for the network booster is because iPhone 4 freezes in facebook once and a while. I am trying to solve this problem for my brother my system works with my airport and imac with no issues yet. All brand new.

Video missing from recording

Hello, one of our clients has a hosted recording with video that has been working fine until recently. When playing back the recording, the video is now missing and just shows a black screen where the video footage should be.
We have tried on both Windows and Mac and reinstalled Flash Player, but the video does not load.
How do I troubleshoot this?

There is an updated Adobe Connect Add-in located from any Adobe Connect meeting room under the Help menu item on the far right of the room.

That add-in will work with Connect 7.5 and 8.
Make sure with Connect 8 you have updated your Adobe Flash Player to version 10.1 or the latest which is 10.2. 10.3 is in beta now.
You have to use Flash 10.1 with Connect 8 to take advantage of some significant features including enhanced audio and VOIP, using Adobe Presenter content to upload to Connect 8, Screen Share pod and the File Share pod. This is an important consideration. There are very significant desktop performance improvements with Flash 10.2 using the GPU for many of it's graphic functions which reduces the load on the CPU.

Some videos missing from iPhoto event in iMovie'08

I recently took some pictures and 7 videos and imported them into iPhoto. I intended to edit them in iMovie'08. I find that 3 of the videos are missing in the Event Library/iPhoto Library pane. I tried deleting them from iPhoto and importing again to no avail. Strangely, thumbnail videos were added to the iPhoto LIbrary/Data/2008/{event_name} folder inside the library data package.
*Yes, that's right, the iMovie thumbnail videos are stored in the iPhoto data file!!!!! Go figure!*
How do I fix this?

Update:
The problem lies in iPhoto: iPhoto has a problem with very large movie files and regularly fails to import them. When that happens I have to use the finder to drag he movie into iPhoto. For some reason, unknown to me, imported movies do not always get a file creation date. When that happens, iMovie'08 assigns a default: Dec 31, 1903 I think. To fix this I had to find each movie inside the iPhoto Library package and set the creation date to the modification date using Super Get Info [http://www.barebones.com/products/super> manually.
BUG! BUG! please fix.

Video missing from podcasts

I have created a series of podcasts as training resources. Four movies. All used screen captures created with Screenflow. Started with the podcast defaults, added the video, created a vocal track and shared using H.264 and MPEG-4 compression. All of the movies work fine on my computer. When I transfer the movies to another Mac two of them work flawlessly. Two only play the audio track (no video shows up). The only difference between the two that I can think of is this - I edited the video in the non-functioning movies in Quicktime prior to using them in Garageband (i.e. I deleted segments for brevity). I tested my theory of a video problem by opening the garageband file and replacing the edited video with a non-edited one. It worked fine on all machines. Here is the other weird thing - when I click on the movie files on the other Mac and press the spacebar - the preview works fine including the video. These movies were also tested on a Windows machine with the same audio only results. Any suggestions out there? I'm at my wits end.

Same problem with me and it seems a lot more users. Audio and Video are playing fine in other players and other types of video, everything is connected as it should. You would think that something major like this would not get past quality control before it's being released. I'm getting more and more agitated as there has been absolutely no mention of this from Apple, yet this seems to be a wide spread and major problem. I bought Season 1 of The Office tonight and it is rendered useless because audio won't play, and the DRM limits how you can view your videos.

Photos missing from backup?

Well I just got my replacement iPhone 4 from Apple. I did a backup to my computer before sending the faulty one off. Did a restore and I was sure it would give me back my photos too but they aren't on my new phone now. Are they gone forever? I never turned photo stream on because I frequently synced and backed up my iPhone for some reason thinking it was saving photos too. Am I screwed?

I just find it odd that the last photo I took can still be seen in the little window bottom left corner when I have the camera going.

Songs and Videos missing from iPod?

I have added a large number of songs to my iPod and I have realised some of them are missing under the artist. However I can find them under the song search. I know this is due to ID3 album tags but this seems really silly, is there anyway to overcome this on mass? I have a large number of songs and don't know which ones have ID3 album tags or not. A seperate issue, I also added a number of videos to the iPod, however they aren't there when I look for them. iTunes shows them there when I browse my iPod, but when I unplug and look for them, they're not there? Any help would be much appreciated.

Regarding your first question, sort your iTunes library by Album, then group-select all those with no album name and select Get Info. Enter "N/A" or something like that for songs which have no album name.

Videos missing from iMovie workspace

I took a video on iMovie but did not click "use" afterwards. Does the program automatically save videos? If so, how can I access the video? I cant see anywhere on my iphone.

Half my music, all my apps/movies/playlist/videos are missing from my i tunes but i looked into my music and it seems to be all in there is there anything i can do?

I have most of it backed up on a external hard drive all i am affraid to do anything as i don't want to lose all the time and money i have invested. Someone told me to uninstall itunes and reinstall it and see what happens any thought?

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup.

"show in itunes store" command missing from video library

updated to itunes 11.1, and ios7.
This isn't a pro or con diatribe, just a list of the minorish bugs that i have noticed:
First (probable?) bug:
With the latest update, the (control click) "show in itunes store" command is missing from all video layouts (unwatched, shows, genres) except "list".
I assume this is just a temporary bug, as it limits easy access to purchasable store content.
This is especially important since "check for available downloads", while still around, has been, as far as i can tell, completely nonfunctional for months.
I now have all my email notifications for passes turned on, and just manually click on the emails to download new content.
However, especially for shows with extra content, sometimes the email doesn't download the actual show, just the extra content.
for this reason, and for non pass shows, and just for general shopping and impulse buys, I liked to use the "show in itunes store" to easily check shows that i am currently interested in.
except that now it is gone.
Another (probable) bug:
I have a lot of purchased content, so i have the cloud turned off to control the flow of menu information. i don't need to see everything i have purchased all the time, only the newest shows that i actually have loaded onto the ipad. I still just load in the shows i want to watch from my main computer after i have downloaded them from apple to the hard drive, which i guess is now a bit old fashioned. ios7 doesn't seem to like this very much, as it initially displays the cloud content when opening the "video" app, before blanking and replacing it with the edited down version. But the real bug is this:
Now when i delete a video on the ipad, it crashes the "video" app.
And, instead of recognizing the delete when i sync to the computer, it ignores it and reloads the video onto the ipad.
......And finally:
There is still a tendency for the ipad and itunes to throw up the "sign in" pop up, often multiple times in a row, anywhere and for no reason, even when i am already signed in. Sometimes i can just hit "cancel" and it disappears, other times it forces me to retype my password. It's gotten a lot better and less frequent than when it first started earlier this year, but it's still around.
Having said this, I'm still, of course, a huge fan of the change earlier this year that keeps track of purchases and allows me redownload, instead of the old "lose it and its gone, tough luck" policy.

I looked around in settings, view, and window for a way to modify the control click menu, but couldn't find anything.
It's a very minor issue.
If your menu is working, maybe I just need to delete my copy of itunes and reinstall. Or change a setting somewhere.

I just got a new iPhone 6 but when I did the restore from backup of my old iPhone 4; none of my pictures were there and almost all of my calendar was missing. Can anyone help?

Hi, I just bought an iPhone 6, 64GB and had everything ready to do the "restore from backup" from my old iPhone 4 8GB. It kept stopping and I'd have to start over from the beginning. When I finally got it to do something with the help of my provider(who had walked me thru from the beginning anyway); I figured I was all set. Then I went to see my pics to use one for my lock screen and there were NO PICTURES AT ALL and only part of my calendar came over. I'm missing a lot of future appointments that I know are set up. I made sure not to wipe out my old one yet; as I will have to since I did the trade in plan; so I still have my old iPhone 4 and it has everything in it, in addition to having the backup on two computers in the house.
I also tried syncing it after the restore since things were missing, but that didn't work either.
I would appreciate any help so I can use my phone and get going with it.

Did you choose the wrong back up? There should be a drop box when you go to "Restore from Back up" in iTunes and your iPhone is plugged in, on the Summary page. Choose the correct back up. If you can't find one, and you still have your device, back up your iPhone 4 again and then choose that back up. Or check for an old iCloud back up if you have one.

No Mirroring in Ipad 2? I have IPAD2 and Apple Tv 4.3. I can airplay videos/music from Ipad2 to my HDTV via ATV, but I cant mirror it. When I select airplay to switch from Ipad2 to Apple TV, Mirroring does not show as an option. What am I missing?

Video clips are missing from iMovie...Yosemite?

I recently downloaded Yosemite. I had a number of video clips (from Cannon Camera) in iMovie; they are no longer showing up. These clips were of my deceased mom. I've tried finding them in Time Capsule - NOT there. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME.

I actually found a number of my videos in iPhoto and have created a new folder on desktop. I have moved the clips there and backup things up using Time Capsule. I know that many people may think that Time Capsule is antiquated and they're using iCloud. For those of us that don't use iCloud for photos, etc. I think you need to have a folder of items on your desktop in order to be saved in Time Capsule. Just thought I's share my experience and prevent others from troubles.
I just don't understand why items (that previously existed in iMovie) are no longer appearing due to Yosemite upgrade.

How do I export video files from iPhoto to a backup external hard drive for safekeeping? Each time I try, the video will not play from the external hard drive.

Use the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original. That should get the original video file exported. Try to export one to the Desktop first and open it with Quicktime Player. If all goes well export the rest to a folder on the EHD. How is the EHD formatted? It should be OS X Extended (journaled).
