View connected users

hi in server admin for OSX snow leopard server it says that i have 10 connected users
now there is only 2 actual users how to i find out who those connected users are ??
please help

Check each of the services and service logs individually. This is usually either AFP, SMB or a stale connection for either of these services. Something like launching Terminal.app and issuing the following command (for AFP, in this case) might help here:
$ sudo lsof | grep "afpovertcp->"

Materialized view refresh using connected user db links

I have a general question. I have a materialized view that more or less joins tables from 2 databases.
For example I have a table X in database A, and a table Y in database B. I create the materialized view in the schema owning table X in database A. Tables A & B from both database are in the same schema with a synchronized password. My materialized view is created to join tables A & B using connected user DB links, and everything works when I create the view, however, it appears that the refresh is failing. I suspect this is because of the connected user link and there is no "logged" in user when the refresh occurs.
Does anyone know if it is possible to create a materialized view between 2 tables in different databases to refresh using a connected user DB link?

Why does it not make sense to have materialized views accross databases?
If a materialized view is essentially a remote copy, then wouldn't that imply accross databases? The only thing I did was to take it a step further and join it with a local table in the owning database.
About not being right about not having a connected user., that may be right, but I have a thought/question..... I equated this as using connected user links in jobs scheduled via dbms_job or dbms_scheduler, as when this runs there is no user connected to the database to provide remote credentials for the link... Essentially this seems to be like a cron job that fires on some schedule (whether a user is connected or not), it would seem to me that it might need to have credentials defined in order to be able to connect to the remote database.

View list of connected users in console. Is that gone?

I can't seem to find where in the WLS 6.1 console to find a list of
connected users. Has that view been removed in the switch to JMX?

There may be an easier way, but here's how I did it:
Install Pseudo.
Install the Apple Developer Tools.
Launch Pseudo and drag /Developer/Applications/Utilities/Property List Editor.app into its window
In the Property List Editor, open /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleFileSharing.plist
Set the first key under Root, the activityLog, to "Yes". Save the file.
Start File Sharing. Open Console. Look for /Library/Logs/AppleFileService/AppleFileServiceAccess.log
This log file will list all connection attempts, with the IPv4 or IPv6 address and user name.
Once this log is set up, you can then use third-party utilities such as xAFP to monitor the connections in your menubar.

Outlook 2010 shows "Not connected" when users try to view other users calender

Hi all
I have enabled the possibility for all users to view all users calender information. This have worked fine but now some user get "Not Connected" when they are trying to see other users calendar. I have two database servers using DAG and one
database per server.
Does anyone have experienced the same? Or have a clue on what can cause this?

Hi Pittbull,
From your description, I recommend you follow the steps below for troubleshooting:
1. Please check if these problematic users have permissions to the calendars they are reviewing. Maybe the calendars' owners have removed the review permission of others via Outlook.
2. If the issue persists for a few users, they can try to new a profile and check the result.

Insufficient Privileges when create materialized view as user system

If I login as system (connect sys/****@DevDB) and try to create a materialized view for another schema (e.g. XDCONTROLDB), I get the insufficient privileges error. If I login as sys as sysdba then I can create successfully.
I have searched some ariticles in Google and grant create any snapshot, create any table, create any view, global query rewrite, select any table system privileges to system but still get the same error.
Any other privileges I need to grant to system?

As you can see, I try to create the view under a schema called 'XDCONTROLDB'. If I login as sys as sysdba, then it create successfully.
After I create UserA, and grant the privileges I mentioned in the ealier post, I login as UserA, and run the statement above I get the same privileges error. But if I change the stament to below which will create the view under UserA's schema, then it create successfully:

How do I view connection status of attendees in version 9

I have tried Pod options but there is no option to view connection status as described in this article:http://www.connectusers.com/tutorials/2009/03/voip_best_practices/index.php

This feature was dropped in Connect 8. Since it only showed the selected level of connectivity for the users (LAN by default) it never really gave any valuable feedback about the actual connectivity level.

Outlook 2011 - can't view other users folders

I have microsoft hosted exchange. I used to be able to view other users calendars and contacts. But recently 2 mac users in Florida are not able to connect to a PC user in Texas. We also have PC's and we can see this users files on the PC's in our office, but not the Mac. Has anyone run into this problem?

One connection user with full rights for a bunch of schemas

How can I give all rights of one user to another without declaring each object privilege one by one? For my application I would like to devide the data to maintain into four different schemas to. Never the less I would like to connect to the db by one account and have full access to all of the four schemas. My client denies to give the connect user DBA rights. The connection user is not allowed to have "ANY" grants, either. But my application often creates tables, views etc. and drops it when they aren't usefull any more. So it is nearly impossible to manage the grants on each db object one by one. So, how can I give a user all rights for a bunch of others?

My program uses logical "firms" to allow separation of clients client data. Sounds like Row Level Security - or even Views - would be saving you some grief here.
The most dynamic created tables are used to optimize performance for (sub-)queries builded at runtime by the user. Do you really have benchmarks to prove that building tables through dynamic execution of DDL results in faster response times than plain queries? Are the query structures some various that temporary tables won't do?

Connected users

Hi---
I am trying to see the connected users in my database, but i can see all users are in INACTIVE status what does it mean. i am using TOAD to see this view, in another window(putty) i connected with other user lets say "scott" and i am accessing that scott's tables, but still it shows scott in INACTIVE status. Can any one explain this.

So if you can not get complete set of data you will take a subset (which can be empty, BTW) and say this is a complete list?In a 10.2.0.4 database a user with CONNECT role only can see every username. Can't see all the details but that's the intent of the view. I don't know if this is a doc bug or what.
And, it is, BTW, a very good thing DBA_USERS is not available to everyone. List of users is part of security and is at least confidential.Agree 100%. I just thought it was a bit odd for you to suggest that I RTFM the ALL_USERS definition, and point out that the docs state it's a list of users visible to the current user, when your suggestion to the OP was to use DBA_USERS. It's likely that a user with the ability to query DBA_USERS would have all users visible to them anyway. I just didn't understand your rather rude followup directed at me. I'm just trying to help, just like everyone else here.

Can you try restarting the server once. We resolved this issue by restarting the server and clearing and restting the browesr to the defaults.

Do you have antiVirus installed on the sharepoint servers?
These folders may have to be excluded from antivirus scanning when you use file-level antivirus software in SharePoint. If these folders are not excluded, you may see unexpected behavior. For example, you may receive "access denied" error messages when files
are uploaded.
Please follow this KB and exclude the folders from Scanning.

Server 2012 R2 how to view RDP user network use?

In Server 2008 you were able to go into tsadmin, click right on a user and click "Status" which would show their network usage (bytes received, bytes sent).
I noticed in Server 2012, when I check users under Collections this option is no longer there. How can I view a user's network usage?

hi,
You can certainly do it for hourly basis but i am not sure whether it could be done quarter an hour basis. Also The portal nodes within a cluster can be in different time zones, yet the activity data from all nodes are aggregated together and reported together. To enable the reporting of hourly data from different time zones, portal activity reports display hourly data based on the GMT time zone.
