View PDF instead of Image

My page contains 4 regions and one of them displays BLOB images stored in table using the following
SELECT '<img src="#OWNER#.my_image_display?p_doc_id='
|| NVL (DOC_ID, 0)
|| '" height="'
|| 312
|| '" width="'
|| 468
|| '" />' Image
FROM DOCS
WHERE DOC_ID = :P20_DOC_ID
This works fine if the BLOB contains images. I want the same thing done even if the BLOB contains PDF. Please help

Displaying a .pdf or any other document format which can be integrated into a browser
is quite easy. In my demo there are several examples on how to do it with .pdf or .xml:

  • How do I view pdf icons as images in Finder?

    I hope I'm asking the right question, but when I'm trying to attach a photo to a email or upload to a web site I find that most of my images show up as pdf icons instead of image thumbnails in the search? Since I don't name all my photos, I really have no way of knowing what I'm attaching. Is there a setting that allows me to view them all as thumbnail images?

    Choose as List from the Finder's view menu and option-click the triangle to the left of the folder.

  • Set Adobe Reader iPad/iPhone app to just view pdf instead of downloading it?

    Hello,
    I work for a financial company and it seems that some of our user's were having trouble viewing a pdf document that contained editable text boxes.  The layout of the form itself would show, but none of the text within the text boxes would appear.  So I tested the pdf out on my phone as well and did the same exact thing (layout shows, but no text).   Since everyone was having trouble viewing the text within the document, I downloaded the Adobe Reader App and it worked perfectly.  The only issue that I have is that since we are a financial institution, we get audited quite often and having documents stored on your phone is a big 'no-no' to the auditors.  So I was wondering if it was possible to make the Adobe Reader App just view the pdf instead downloading the pdf to the application and storing it in the docs and the recent docs setting.  A little more info on our part:   We are running Exchange 2010, my iPhone is a 4S and it's running the ios7, and the iPad is running ios 6.1.03 (I think).  Also, I did a little bit of searching but I could find anything but is there some sort of list that will say what does/does not work in regards to pdf's on iPhones or iPads?  Any suggestions/help is very welcome and appreciated!
    Thanks,

    Hi Shradha and thank you for that information.  Now is that only in regards to the Adobe Reader app or does that copy expand to all current pdf viewer apps on iOS?  If it is only in regards to the Adobe Reader app, then do you know of an app that may have the functionality that I am looking for?  I have tried searching for one, but I have been unsuccessful in my searches.
    Thanks,

  • Can't view pdf when scanned image(pdf) attached to outlook

    sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. here is some detail.
    I'm scanning a letter using hp scanning software. the process automatically converts the letter/image to a pdf file and then attaches the pdf file to outlook(2007) email as an attachment. the email screen opens with the pdf attachment within the email, but outlook itself (the application) appears to be closed. at this point everything seems to be running perfectly.
    here's the problem. when double clicking on the pdf file attachment, nothing happens. the pdf file does not open. i would like to review before i send the email on it way. is there any way to view the pdf file before i send the email on its merry way? Oh yeah, using reader v9.3.2.
    Thanks for any assistance.

    Sorry. I have a Mac with OS X 10.9.5
    I've since totally deleted Adobe Reader and reinstalled it but have the same problem anytime I try to view a PDF with Adobe Reader.  The college website won't let me save the form, only view it.  If I use another pdf viewer the form won't fill with my son's info; I think it has to be Adobe Reader for some reason

  • "View in Place" inline images and PDFs in Yosemite Mail

    I'd like to have the "View in Place" option available for images and PDFs, but it appears to be missing in Yosemite Mail. It would be particularly helpful with this new Markup feature. Any ideas how I might do this?

    When I drag a PDF or an image (TIFF, JPEG, etc.) into the body of an Apple Mail message, I see an icon of that file.
    There used to be a contextual menu option to "View as Icon" or "View as Image" in previous iterations of Mail, but now with Yosemite, I am only able to send the message with the image or PDF file viewed as an icon. As a comparison, when Composing a message in the Gmail desktop web interface, you can click on the Insert Image Icon, and you are given the option to insert the image "Inline" or "As attachment." I like having both options and I wonder if there is a Terminal command or third-party solution to restore this functionality.

  • I can't view video on imported clips on FCPX, it shows blue instead of image

    I can't view video on my imported clips on FCPX, it shows blue instead of image on the clip. I can hear sound but no video. What is the problem. I wish someone can help me on this issue? Thanks.

    The camera is Sony Handycam HDR-CX550. I used the internal hard disc to record. I can's use MTS clips if it is recorded on the internal hard disc. I converted clips into MOV, MP4, and Final Cut formats, non of them worked on Final Cut Pro X. I tried to import the same clips on iMovie, it worked but super slow. MOV and MP4 formats used to work for FCPX, the only difference is I recorded the footage with HD 1920x1080.
    The clip I imported showed as a blue thing with two rectagle shapes on it. I can hear the sound, but no video. I also imported my old clips with sam format, it worked. I tried a lot of things, no use.
    By the way, what is spwecs?

  • I cannot view pdf files on Safari, instead they download and open in viewer. How do I change this?

    Does anyone have a solution for this???
    "I cannot view pdf files on Safari, instead they download and open in viewer. How do I change this?"

    Back up all data. Please read this whole message before doing anything, so you'll know what to expect.
    Open Safari's preferences dialog and make notes of everything you would need to recreate the basic settings, such as your home page. That includes the settings of Safari extensions, if any are installed.
    Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
    Quit Safari. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
    from the menu bar. Paste (command-V) into the box that opens and press return. A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open.
    Launch Safari. Its settings will have reverted to what they were they first time you launched it. Your bookmarks, history, and AutoFill data will be preserved.
    Test. If Safari now works as expected, recreate its settings and delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, quit Safari again and put the file you moved back where it was, overwriting the newer one created in its place. Post your results.

  • Can not view PDF's after upgrading to FF 4.0.

    Using FF3.6 I downloaded an Add-On that allowed me to view .pdf's directly in the browser. Now having upgraded {?} to FF4.0 I can not view automaticaly, nor are these Add-On's available for 4.0.
    What do I do?

    * You can see the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
    * You can check the exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
    * You can check the Tools > Page Info > Media tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)
    There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images.

  • Unable to view PDF output from Report Server

    Help!
    I have successfully setup CGI Report Server and can generate and view reports in IE5 as HTML repformat.
    However when I try to generate output as PDF I do not get the report displayed. Instead I get a little acrobat icon displayed in the top left of the browser window.
    When I click on the icon I get a IE5 message:
    "There is no viewer available for the type of object you are trying to open....
    Content Type: application/pdf"
    ...and then insists on taking me to Microsoft activex plugin page.
    This is very stange as I DO have Adobe Acrobat Reader 4 installed and the plugin works ok when viewing PDF files on Oracle webpage.
    Any suggestions on how to resolve are gratefully received!!
    Regards,
    Richard.

    You have run into an interesting problem. The problem is not with Reports. The problem is with Adobe. You can search Adobe's web site and they point to Microsoft (btw, this problem doesn't occur with netscape as the browser) Microsoft's web site point to Adobe.
    The Problem is that the .ocx Adobe puts out for use with IE times out if the report take stoo long to start sending back data. We had report that worked and some that didn't. We took a report that worked and put a sleep command in it and when the sleep command got to 10 the report quit working.
    My suggestion: move to netscape, make your reports as fast as absolutely possible.

  • How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files?

    How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files? I need to look at several thousand PDF files. It takes too long to open each one individually. The only thing I could think of is combining them into large groups and then using the Navigation index. But I like the way windows Picture and Fax Viewer does it because you can keep the files separate. Combining PDFs causes loss of individual file names. That would be a problem since I do need to have the individual file names.

    Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is a DLL and is started via a rundll32.exe call and can't be set as an application to handle images in Firefox 3 and later versions.
    Try to set Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default viewer in Windows, then it should be listed automatically in the Mozilla Firefox Browse dialog.

  • Cannot view pdf files in browser

    brand new imac cannot view PDF files in browser but the PDF's can be viewed if downloaded. All the data in the PDF online have question marks instead, maybe a missing font issue?

    Have Adobe Reader installed? If so, disable the AdobePDFViewer.plugin resident in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins., restart, and try again. For font-associated issues, peruse Font Management in OS X

    Is this issue with Tiger or Leopard? Your profile indicates you have a machine with Tiger, yet your signature of your post says you have Leopard.
    Also, there is no such thing as a Powerbook Pro. Read the text under the screen to tell us exactly which model you have. MacBook Pro is the name given to Macs that are for the pro lineup of notebooks once Apple shifted to the Intel CPU.

  • Unable to view pdf created in Live Cycle Designer ES2-initially thought to be a user/OS issue

    Unable to view pdf created in Live Cycle Designer ES2.  I initially thought this was a user / OS issue when I created a document for someone who is new to a MAC laptop.  She could not view the document through email.  Unfortunately, I began seeing the same error in my own document folders when searching for another document showing as icons instead of a list.  I can open the file without a problem although I see the error she sees only while viewing the icons in my folder.  I am using a Windows 7 PC. Now, I also know that if the document is downloaded, it can be viewed.
    Other notes:
    If trying to access the form via the internet, the same error is seen through Chrome, Firefox, and Mozilla but NOT through IE
    Everyone seems to have the latest or a very recent READER
    The form is compatible with Reader versions 7 and up
    Again, downloading from the internet to the computer appears to allow the file to open properly
    Document cannot be viewed on the Galaxy Tab 2 via Chrome or the pre-installed Internet Browser, nor can it be viewed through the Reader after download to tablet. I did not try on an Apple iPad.
    All parties involved are up-to-date with virus protection.

    You're on to something KJ!  Yes the form was created in LiveCycle Designer ES2 which came bundled with my Adobe X Pro.  I began creating a new form yesterday and found that I could not preview the form, rendering this same "error" instead.  I ran a repair on my Adobe and at first it seemed to fix the issue but after making some changes to the form I tried to preview again and couldn't.  Here is what I get when I try to preview my forms in Designer ES2:
    When I click the OK button, it then gives me that single static page as mentioned above in previous posts.
    I searched Adobe yesterday trying to figure out how I could repair the LiveCycle Designer or if there was some sort of patch that I haven't gotten but was not able to find anything.
    (Sorry for the delay in response, I've been on vacation.)

    Sorry, this is a user to user forum and we're just customers who help out when we can, so things don't always happen right away.
    Reader, Regardless of OS or device, is as the name implies, only a Reader.  There are different mail settings between Mac Mail Outlook and Thunderbird as well as Andsroid's mail app, whose name escpoaes me.
    Have you checked in the Live Cycle Forum? There are people there with FAR more experience using LC developed forms. It's part of my Creative Suite, but I've never even opened it myself.

  • Problem with LTKRN11N.dll after enabling "View PDF in Browser" option

    Good afternoon,
    I'm trying to install an internal business application on one of our office PC's but keep getting errors during the install.  The two errors I receive are:
    The ordinal 267 could not be located in the dynamic link library LTKRN11n.dll
    The ordinal 173 could not be located in the dynamic link library LTDIS11n.dll
    I've narrowed the problem down and can repeat it...it seems to be the result of enabling the option "View PDF in Browser" in the preferences of Adobe Reader 9.3.  Simply unchecking the option does not fix the problem and neither does uninstalling Adobe or the other application.  So far, the only answer has been to re-image the machine without the option, install the other application and then enable the option (if needed) however, once the option has been enabled, any further attempts to install the application, will fail, reuquiring a re-image.
    Any help with how Adobe uses these dlls or what might remedy the problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    It looks like the 2 DLLs you mentioned, are getting corrupted or modified due to some operation that might have been performed on them. Can you please try the below mentioned instructions and see if that gets your application to install without any errors:
    1. Try installing your business app.
    2. When you see the error message as stated, try running the below mentioned commands: (Start | Run | Type cmd and hit Enter)
        regsvr32 LTKRN11n.dll /i /s
        regsvr32 LTKRN11n.dll /s
        regsvr32 LTDIS11n.dll /i /s
        regsvr32 LTDIS11n.dll /s
    3. The above commands should fix the issues in the mentioned DLLs and allow normal installation of your business app.
    Hope this gets your app to work and install properly.
