Viewing columns and artwork question

1.  Can I have the SAME columns viewed for all music.......?   the columns vary from playlist to playlist. , ,  I want them all the same.....
2.  I've loaded several CDs recently, fairly recent releases......but not getting the artwork, even if I tell it to go get it......what's with the missing artwork for so many artists......i.e.  most recently Natalie Merchant's "Leave Your Sleep"...... I would understand more if it were old stuff.........
Help appreciated!

1. COLUMNS:
There USED to be a preference for this (now, sadly missing). HOWEVER, you can download the free TinkerTool (which does lots of other neat stuff -- ALL actually just hidden prefs) at MacUpdate.com .
In TinkerTool's iTunes Tab : just check the option to "Show playlist for the whole library"  (do this While iTunes is NOT running)
Start up iTunes:
Select the Library icon in the sidebar and make whatever changes you want there.
Now newly created playlists will mimic the Library settings.
2. ARTWORK:
I believe The CD matching is based on the CDDB aka Gracenote listing (not Apple specific or iTunes). You MIGHT be able to get it to match by making sure certain tags are same as the one in the Apple Store. Find your music within Apple Store make sure Artist/Album (even year) named accordingly.
............OR,  MUCH Easier:
Find your disc at Amazon, copy/paste from there.
Alternately: download the image, (then MAKE SURE the Artwork display in lower left corner of iTunes window, is set to "Selected Item" rather than "Now Playing" (just click to toggle)
then Select all the tracks in Tunes and Paste/ or drag it into artwork box lower left corner .
If this comes up frequently, There are widgets that will do all this for you... Search for one's named like "Amazon Art"

  • ALV with dropdown in column and other questions

    hi,
    I created an editable alv with configuration model via external context mapping.
    now I have a column which contains strings and my aim is to show this whole column as a dropdownlist. the possible values of this dropdown are fetched in a database table at  runtime and each cell in this column got its own selected value in this dropdownlist.
    changes of the selected values should be written in the database table in a later step.
    1. what changes do I have to do?
    should I remove my external mapping concerning the alv and use the setData method? or what is the easiest way to get my dropdownlist in this column instead of normal text (string) ?
    2. should I choose dropdownbykey or by index?
       I suppose I have to change the context when changing the selected value in the dropdownlist and the read out the changed context element and update my database table?
    3. how could I access rows (= tuples) in an alv?
    4. how can I avoid that a row could be deleted, inserted or added with the normal functions of the alv?

    Hi Thorsten,
    If the possible list of values in the dropdown is different for each row, you need a drop down by index. Else this can be done using a dropdown by key itself.
    The only change that you need to do is create a cell editor of type dropdown for that particular column and configure your ALV model.
    The sample code for changing the cell editor would be:
        l_alv_model = l_ref_interfacecontroller->get_model( ).
      DATA:
         lr_column_settings TYPE REF TO if_salv_wd_column_settings,
         lr_column type ref to CL_SALV_WD_COLUMN.
         lr_dropdown TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_UIE_DROPDOWN_BY_KEY.
      lr_column_settings ?= l_alv_model.
      lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( <column name> ).
      CREATE OBJECT lr_dropdown EXPORTING
      SELECTED_KEY_FIELDNAME= '<fieldname>'
      lr_column->set_cell_editor( lr_dropdown ).
    Here, you can substitute the field name with your field name that has to be displayed as a dropdown.
    The dropdown list can be populated in the wddoinit method by attaching a value set to the attribute in the context node info. Everything else will be like you do in a normal table. You can so a get_static_attributes of your elements and persist in tables. Whenever you change the selected value, the context will be updated immediately. You can have a user defined function like 'Save' or something where you can just read the context and process the data.
    If you do not want to display any of the normal functions, you can do the following:
    data: lt_functions type SALV_WD_T_FUNCTION_STD_REF,
            ls_function type SALV_WD_s_FUNCTION_STD_REF.
    lt_functions = l_alv_model->if_salv_wd_function_settings~get_functions_std( ).
    loop at lt_functions into ls_function.
    ls_function-r_function->set_visible( CL_WD_UIELEMENT=>E_VISIBLE-NONE ).
    endloop.
    The above code will hide all the standard functions. If you want to hide specific ones, do a get_function(id) and set_visible.
    Hope this helps.

  • Correlating Columns and Survey questions?

    I did a nifty little survey for our golf club using Forms Central and a basic template.  I want to share to summary results with a few people but it's difficult to correlate the "columns" listed in the summary with the questions in the survey. Is there a way to show the question in the summary pages?

    Are you trying to share the Response table or the Summary Report?
    You can manually edit the column names in the View Responses Tab.
    You can also manually edit the label of each tile in the Summary Report.
    Is that what you are looking for?

  • Iterators, View Objects, and ViewCriteria question

    JDev version 10.1.3.2, ADF BC JSF application, created a web-type search form with search and results on same page, exactly like that in Dev guide chap. 18.3. Would like to have the previous page put parameters in a managed bean, and then have the search page populate the QBE form fields with these parameters and execute the query.
    I was hoping to solve the problem by doing the following:
    1) in (session scoped) managed bean, have created a method that puts the parameter value into the "find mode" iterator's viewCriteria and then returns the JSF page navigation action that represents going to the search form. Here is the code for that method (the parameter is currently hardcoded "courseid = 390"):
    public String toEnableMissingSurvey() {
    // ViewObject postReqVO = getclassesStudentsCourses1();
    FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    Application app = fctx.getApplication();
    ValueBinding vb = app.createValueBinding("#{bindings}");
    DCBindingContainer dc = (DCBindingContainer) vb.getValue(fctx);
    DCIteratorBinding dciter = dc.findIteratorBinding("classesStudentsCourses1Iterator");
    ViewCriteria criteria = dciter.getViewCriteria();
    if (criteria.size() > 0) criteria.clear();
    //AdfFacesContext afContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    //String courseid = (String)afContext.getProcessScope().get("surveyCourseid");
    // String courseid = getReturnNavigationRule();
    String courseid = "390";
    if (courseid != null && !courseid.equals("")) {
    Row criteriaRow = criteria.createViewCriteriaRow();
    criteria.add(criteriaRow);
    criteriaRow.setAttribute("Courseid",courseid);
    dciter.getViewObject().applyViewCriteria(criteria);
    //dciter.executeQuery(); --I commented this out because it didn't make any difference, and I thought that the query should be executing on page open anyways
    return "enableMissingSurvey";
    2) On the calling page, on the "EnableMissingSurvey" button which is to navigate to the search page, I have set the "Action" property of the button to this method.
    The button successfully navigates to the search page, but I don't see any change in either the parameter form or the search results that are visible at page opening.
    Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Am I accessing the wrong iterator? Do I need to set both the "always find" iterator and the "search results" iterator? Do I need some kind of additional invokeActions in my page def? Is this idea not valid?

    I am not sure 100% what you are trying to accomplish, but you can easily have the search form and results on the same page and not lose the search parameters.
    You need an invoke action to set your search iterator to alway find like this:
    <invokeAction id="AlwaysFind" Binds="Find"
    RefreshCondition="${ ! bindings.AllEmployeesIterator.findMode }"/>
    And create another iterator for the search results.

  • Missing comments and notes fields for view columns

    Hello,
    I am missing the comments and notes fields for view columns in the relational model of DM. For the table columns these fields are present, so it would be nice to make this available for views too. The Designer import should be adapted too to import those fields.
    Joop

    Hi Joop,
    My question is about the import of Designer for those fields. This is still not solved, even not in rel 4.0
    In fact even DM 3.3 imports comments, notes and comments in RDBMS from Designer repository.  Though comments and notes are not accessible through UI they are there and you can include them in custom report.
    Comments and notes are accessible through UI in DM 4.0

  • Creating a view with existing GeoRaster columns and new SDO_GEOMETRY column

    Hi,
    In a nutshell, I already have 1 real table, which has several attributes including types such as text, numbers etc. but also a GeoRaster column. This table works great, has its metadata stored properly and is spatially indexed; no worries.
    I am then creating a view based on the above mentioned table, including the GeoRaster column. This worked, no problems. However now I want the same view to also have a SDO_GEOMETRY column which explicitly stores the spatial extent for each GeoRaster. Note the original table does not have this SDO_GEOMETRY column. So, I have created a revised SQL statement to create the view, but now it dynamically adds a new column and puts the GeoRaster.spatialextents into the SDO_GEOMETRY column.
    This worked, the data made it into the view, but when we try to view the SDO_GEOMETRY in a viewer, we get errors. I added a system metadata entry for the view, but this did not help. Also, it is not possible to spatially index a view so I knew that was not the problem.
    I think what has happened is the SDO_GEOMETRY column is in a sort of "limbo", where because it was not contained in the original table (and indexed there) and it is not able to be indexed in a view, it cannot be manipulated/viewed/used spatially.
    Here is a snippet describing the original table:
    "IMAGERY_ID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE,
    "CAM_ANGLE_X" NUMBER,
    "CAM_ANGLE_Y" NUMBER,
    "CAM_ANGLE_Z" NUMBER,
    "SPEED" NUMBER,
    "HEADING" NUMBER,
    "IMAGE_GEOR" "SDO_GEORASTER",
    "ACQUISITION_TIME" TIMESTAMP (6),
    "SENSOR_ID" NUMBER,
    "DOWNWARD_LOOKING" CHAR(1 BYTE),
    "ORG_ID" NUMBER,
    "POC_ID" NUMBER,
    "FILE_NAME" VARCHAR2(100 BYTE),
    "CORRELATION_ID" VARCHAR2(256 BYTE),
    And here is the statement I used to create the new view:
    CREATE VIEW level_0_img_view (imagery_id, cam_angle_x, cam_angle_y, cam_angle_z, speed, heading, image_geor, acquisition_time, sensor_id, downward_looking, org_id, poc_id, file_name, correlation_id, geor_extents)
    AS
    SELECT a.imagery_id, a.cam_angle_x, a.cam_angle_y, a.cam_angle_z, a.speed, a.heading, a.image_geor, a.acquisition_time, a.sensor_id, a.downward_looking, a.org_id, a.poc_id, a.file_name, a.correlation_id, a.image_geor.spatialextent
    FROM imagery a
    WHERE a.file_name LIKE '%.lev0';
    Note in the above statement that the "geor_extents" column is the new column added dynamically (and not in the original table). Note the new column with the SDO_GEOMETRY data is flawless, I have looked at the records in SQL developer and all the data is there.
    Any ideas?
    In case you're wondering, I do have reasons for: (i) wanting an explicit column with the SDO_GEOMTRY (serving via WFS), and (ii) not wanting to alter the original table to include the equivalent SDO_GEOMETRY column.
    Cheers,
    M.

    Hi,
    if you are having problems to display your view spatial columns in MapBuilder/MapViewer, you may be missing to register the view information in the metadata (name and spatial columns).
    For example, lets see the following table that simulates your case:
    SQL> desc pci_image;
    Name Null? Type
    GEORID NOT NULL NUMBER
    TYPE VARCHAR2(32)
    GEORASTER MDSYS.SDO_GEORASTER
    -- create a view
    create view pci_img_view (georid,georaster,geor_extents)
    as
    select a.georid,a.georaster,a.georaster.spatialextent
    from pci_image a;
    -- register metadata for view spatial columns (GeoRaster and geometry column)
    insert into user_sdo_geom_metadata
    select 'PCI_IMG_VIEW','GEORASTER.SPATIALEXTENT', diminfo, srid
    from user_sdo_geom_metadata where table_name = 'PCI_IMAGE'
    insert into user_sdo_geom_metadata
    select 'PCI_IMG_VIEW','GEOR_EXTENTS', diminfo, srid
    from user_sdo_geom_metadata where table_name = 'PCI_IMAGE'
    There is no need to index the spatial columns if they have been indexed before.
    Now, if you go in MapBuilder you should see the the view name in the list of geometry tables, and be able to create a theme on column GEOR_EXTENTS (select it on the combo box) and to preview it.
    For the GeoRaster column, currently the view name is not shown on the list of GeoRaster tables in MapBuilder.
    For GeoRaster data, MapBuilder uses the contents of metadata view user_sdo_geor_sysdata, and then it would be needed to register the view contents there. We will talk with Jeffrey to check if there is any problem in registering
    view contents in this metadata view. If the view name and georaster column is registered in user_sdo_geor_sysdata,
    then it should show in MapBuilder. But you can still create a GeoRaster theme for this view using a SQL command, and should be able to preview it in MapBuilder.
    -- create a GeoRaster theme based on view Georaster column.
    insert into user_sdo_themes values (
    'PCI_IMAGE_V_GEOR',
    'View of georaster column',
    'PCI_IMG_VIEW',
    'GEORASTER',
    '<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <styling_rules theme_type="georaster" raster_id="1" raster_table="RDT_PCI" raster_bands="0,1,2">
    </styling_rules>');
    -- commit changes
    commit;

  • List view threshold and columns manage metadata problems

    Hi
    We have problem in our company since we have more files in library than is set in List view Threshold.
    I have created index on column "year" and create view filter: Year is equal 2015.
    and I get famous error: this view cannot be displayed because....
    I haven`t find any limitations on column type: manage metadata?

    Hi,
    As I understand, you encountered the issue after you created view filter.
    Every column type has the default number that can be created. You should go to check the number of your column created is less than the number by default.
    Per my test, I can achieve it without exceeding list view threshold.
    Check things below:
    1. You can increase the number of the list view threshold, and after that, you can try again to see the same situation will occur.
    2. Go to create another managed metadata column “year”, and create index on column "year", and create view filter in the same list to see the issue will occur.
    3. Check ULS log to see the details about the cause of the issue.
    Best regards,
    Sara Fan

  • How Both View Selector and Column Selector in one report dashboard section

    Can we use a view selector and column selector inside a report in one section of the dashboard?

    hi kris,
    Can we use a view selector and column selector inside a report in one section of the dashboard?Here view selector is nothing but having multiple views and selecting depends on what end user want to see.You are saying in a single report in once section only.
    If it is a single report you can go with using a column selector.
    Note:-View selector and column selector combination can be used.....but it looks wierd as you need to select view at the same time the corresponding column.
    UPDATED POST
    Yes you can have it by creating different compound layouts with pivots in it.

  • Need to know base table and base column name for Oracle view columns

    I am trying to load metadata for some views and that requires me to know what the final table and column name would be corresponding to the view column.
    For example, if I have a view x_v that is select a,b from x_v2; and x_v2 is a view that is select a,b,c from x;
    I need to get the following information.
    View View Col Base Table Base Col
    X_V A X A
    X_V B X B
    and so on.
    Is it possible to get this programmatically using any SYS schema tables or Dependency tables?
    I tried an indirect approach wherein I lock tables using LOCK TABLE or FOR UPDATE OF. But I'm not too sure if I can go down to the level of individual view columns.
    Can you help me with this?

    Thanks. I was looking at some indirect approaches.
    I came up with this script that does it faster than dependencies but thats just for tables and not column mapping.
    declare
    cursor bt(cp_sid number) is
    select u.name uname, o.name oname
    from sys.obj$ o, sys.user$ u
    where o.obj# in (select id1
    from v$lock
    where sid=cp_sid)
    and u.user# =o.owner#;
    cursor c_sid is
    select sid
    from v$session
    where audsid =userenv('sessionid');
    l_sid number;
    l_view varchar2(100):= 'PER_PEOPLE_V';
    l_schema varchar2(10):= 'APPS';
    begin
    open c_sid;
    fetch c_sid into l_sid;
    close c_sid;
    dbms_output.put_line('SID: '||l_sid);
    execute immediate 'lock table '||l_schema||'.'||l_view||' in row share mode nowait';
    for i in bt(l_sid) loop
    dbms_output.put_line(i.uname||'.'||i.oname);
    execute immediate 'alter table '||i.uname||'.'||i.oname||' disable table lock';
    execute immediate 'alter table '||i.uname||'.'||i.oname||' enable table lock';
    end loop;
    end;
    It basically uses locks on views to verify locks on the base tables.
    Just wondering, can we use FOR UPDATE OF statements to get to the columns?

  • Dynamic View Object Creation and Scope Question

    I'm trying to come up with a way to load up an SQL statement into a view object, execute it, process the results, then keep looping, populating the view object with a new statement, etc. I also need to handle any bad SQL statement and just keep going. I'm running into a problem that is split between the way java scopes objects and the available methods of a view object. Here's some psuedo code:
    while (more queries)
    ViewObject myView = am.createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("myView",query); //fails if previous query was bad
    myView.executeQuery();
    Row myRow = myView.first();
    int rc = myView.getRowCount();
    int x = 1;
    myView.first();
    outStr = "";
    int cc = 0;
    while (x <= rc) //get query output
    Object[] result = myRow.getAttributeValues();
    while (cc < result.length)
    outStr = outStr+result[cc].toString();
    cc = cc+1;
    x = x+1;
    myView.remove();
    catch (Exception sql)
    sql.printStackTrace(); myView.remove(); //won't compile, out of scope
    finally
    myView.remove(); //won't compile, out of scope
    //do something with query output
    Basically, if the queries are all perfect, everything works fine, but if a query fails, I can't execute a myView.remove in an exception handler. Nor can I clean it up in a finally block. The only other way I can think of to handle this would be to re-use the same view object and just change the SQL being passed to it, but there's no methods to set the SQL directly on the view object, only at creation time as a method call from the application module.
    Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how to deal with this?

    I figured this out. You can pass a null name to the createViewObjectFromQueryStmt method, which apparently creates a unqiue name for you. I got around my variable scoping issue by re-thinking my loop logic.
