Vim embedded into abap editor

Is there any way to embed VIM into abap editor on windows.
I know that it is possible to embed Vim in linux version of SAP gui.
Any one has ideas?

Haven't heard about this one, but since the idea sounded pretty good to me I tried to find any evidence in the web. However, at least I noticed that the Eclipse-VIM integration seems to be working now. So thanks for the posting and getting things rolling...

Not sure what you mean by linux version of SAPgui. Basically the only SAPgui version that exists for Linux is the Java GUI (assuming that we're not talking about trying to run the Windows SAPgui in Wine environment). I personally doubt that such a thing exists, but if you know any details, please share your knowledge or links...
VIM has a socket interface which allows in theory IDE's to attach (:help netbeans), but haven't heard that anything exists in the SAP world to utilize this. Maybe there's other ways, so let us hear what you know...

Editing ABAP Program with out using ABAP Editor

Dear Gurus,
I know that ABAP Programs like SAPMSSY1, etc. are stored in Table D010S or REPOSRC as per the version of the SAP Released.
my problem is that whem i open the table REPOSRC (Having around 34 colums), no doubt thati found the program list but i am not be able to see any thing which is written in Program language..!
how I will be able to access these program in there source language and so make certain changes in them.
actually during the RFC Logon, I am getting the error that "Error in Reading Program SAPMSSY1"
R/3 Basis System: Run-time error "GEN_SOURCE_FORMAT " occurred in accessing SAPMSSY1.
So pls tell me where I can find the actual program language so that I can make certian changes in them.

Problem in calling abap editor with the program name in Web Dynpro ABAP

I have to caal ABAP Editor screen with the display of program after clicking a button from web dynpro abap application.
I am able to call the ABAP Editor initial screen, but i want the editor display screen with a program.
How to do that?

New ABAP editor - opinions

I am interested to know other people's opinions on the new ABAP Editor and Debugger. I just started to use the new editor and I am kind of dissapointed:
- the code completion feature is a far cry from the Java editor. It shows only one element in the code completion list based on a strange rule (I think it is first in the alphabetical order, and then based on the previously selected item)
- it does not provide code completion for types
- the code completion dissapears after a short period of time (why isn't the code completion triggered on a CTRL-key ?!)

It appears that you are focusing on the code completion as the source of your disappointment. Let me brighten your day a bit by saying that the real code completion has not yet been shipped. In a future release of Netweaver, there will be full code completion very similar to what you have in the java area, where you will type a class name and get a list of methods to choose from. This functionality is not there in NetWeaver 7.0, but if you pay close attention when working in the editor you will see small pieces that will evolve into the full blown code completion. For example, in your editor type.....

After you typed the "o", there should have been a dropdown box with a bunch of suggestions to complete the statement. (This may not work depending on the gui, but it does in my system, NetWeaver 7.0 SP10, using Gui 7.10 Patch 1.
So again, you are right, the code completion is not really up to par, and never really claimed to be, but just wait, the real code completion is coming.

You can try the following,
Get the PR's you have created into a internal table, by writing a select query.
Before writing out the internal table fields, do the following
loop at itab.
if sy-tabix = 1.
format color 1 intensified on.
          skip.
          write:/1 'field1',18 '-' , 20 itab-field .
          format color off.

if sy-tabix = 2.
format color 2 intensified on.
          skip.

You can use up to 7 different colors from 1 to 7.

Acces a particular position in fieldname into "condition editor"

Our XI systems have installed > SP14.
We want to use filename into "condition Editor". Actually only can acces a context object area for select FILENAME but we want to compare with a particular position of the filename. In abap the expression will be filename+12(4) = 'ANUL'.
How i can do into "condition editor" if filename is a context object variable?.

You could use the "Contains Pattern (CP)" functionality:

In your case it should work with the pattern ++++++++++++ANUL*

Air 2, Flex 4.1, embedding xstandard wysiwyg editor

Hi,
Has anyone had any experience with embedding the xstandard wysiwyg editor into a flex application using the Air HTML component?
For those who don't know; it is an activeX control providing xhtml compliant code generation, drag, drop and upload functionality (in one move) etc and is far superior and easier to use than the freebee wysiwyg editors out there.
The editor requirement:
Easy table generation
drag and drop of images onto the interface with upload and insert into content
Paste of MS Word content into the editor. (automatic image upload and insert)
Editor solution:
xstandard ( http://www.xstandard.com )
are there any others that provide this functionality?
The problem at hand:
I have developed an inhouse application which embeds a wysiwyg editor using the HTML component of AIR.
The editor is embedded on a php page which take care of loading the data and the editor controls. With the appropriate parameters it works independantly outside of the Air/Flex application.
Initially we were successfully using TinyMCE (pre editor requirements) however the less computer savvy users (most of them) were having issues using the table generator and the image uploaded. To difficult, inefficient and too many steps.
xstandard integration:
xstandard is working fine externally to the application, as it does with TinyMCE. When loading it into the Air/Flex application the controls don't show up instead the source editor is visible. It looks like it is partially loading the activex control.
I have spoken with the xstandard developer, we have tried a few things, different test build etc however with little success.
I thought it may have been the userAgent however I set the HTML parameter userAgent to "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1)" ut this did not work.
Does AIR have restrictions applied to embedded objects?
Any other suggestions?

Hi Damian,
ActiveX is only supported by IE on Windows. Also, I believe the HTML component in Adobe AIR only supports the flash plugin and pdf plugin.

1. In a DTD, an element can be designated as occurring zero or one
time, zero or more times, or one or more times. How do I write the
simple transformation to accommodate these possibilities?

Use Pretty Printer or do a CTRL+F1.
Also u can change the settings of the way u want preety printer to behave by
going in the Settings->Abap Editor -> Pretty Printer

Issue in SAP GUI 7.0 for ECC6 (ABAP Editor not working)

Dear SAP Team,
We have installed SAP ECC6.0 EHP4.We have installed SAP GUI 7.0 in our clients machine but in some machines the ABAP Editor i.e Tcode SE38 is not working properly.When our Client selects any transaction for editing the system gets HANG.
We have tried uninstalling & reinstalling the software & the patch but the problem still persists.The configuration of all our client machine are same & we work on Windows XP platform.Please help us in solving our issue as soon as possible.

you mean the SAP Gui for windows 7.20 or 7.10?
Please install the latest Sapgui Patch 3 for the Sapgui 720, or the Sapgui
Patch 19 for the Sapgui 7.10.
As workaround, please use the OLD frontend editor.

Saving bookmarks in the new ABAP editor?

Hi experts,
either I'm stupid or something but I don't see how I can save my code boomarks for future usage. I mean the bookmarks which can be created by CTRL + ALT + number and navigation to them by CTRL + number.
The similar problem I have with saving my break-points set in the new ABAP editor.
Could you please give me a tip how I can save it I'm using SAP GUI 710 patch level 4.

In ABAP editor we can highlight the line which are to be comment and use cmd+< sign to comment those lines. What will be the command to be used to achieve the same functionality when using SAP GUI for JAVA on an iMac.

please check with SAP GUI for Java 7.20 rev 5 before submitting a bug report.
Also please verify, that cmd-< and cmd-> are not assigned as "Keyboard Shortcuts" in the "Keyboard" control panel of "System Preferences".
Bug reports can be submitted with the [SAP Message Wizard|http://service.sap.com/message], for SAP GUI for Java please use component BC-FES-JAV.

Yes,
Click patterns.
Then choose Abap objects patterns.
Click on the Tick
It will give a new screen
Here Give the name of the class first.
Then the object (instance of the calss)
And finally the method ..
it will give you the pattern
