Vista locks up in iTunes store

I tried installing the up to date video driver (ATI Radeon 2400 Pro). Updated to the newest version of itunes. But still when in i-tunes store the monitor goes blank or gray and I have to do a hard book to get out of it.
Any advise?

Perhaps the app was purchased through a different iTunes Store account? If so, and you're not signed into that account, the app will give you a notification of an avaialble update, but will say that no updates are available, (which is technically true since it refers to that account only but is rather confusing).
Hope this helps.

I was using safari, was looking at a site, a message came up in the middle of the screen telling me "someone in my city wants to be my f...kbuddy". I tried to exit... locked on the site. Turned off the iPad.... turned it back on - site still locked in. Eventually I pressed OK..... then later went to update some Apps. The Apps store then told me I cant as "my account is not valid in the US store". I went into my account..... it was showing UK store (I am in Australia). I changed that ... but I still get the same message when i go into Apps. Can anyone help... I am about to leave Australia for US in a days time and need my iPad to be working.

  • Frequent lock-up of iTunes Store feed

We got our ATV a couple of weeks ago. Everything was fine at first. Watched a couple of movies on our Netflix Instant View without a hitch. But a week ago I was watching a flick and the picture froze as though I'd paused it. I messed around with the hand control--which didn't seem to do anything--and it finally restarted in a minute or two. Then it happened again. And again. But this really started happeneing since we've been renting TV shows from iTunes. It would freeze, the timeline indicator would appear with the little endlessly spinning wheel indicating it was waiting for signal to download or something. I messed again with the hand control and a dialog would appear saying stuff like "Loading..." or "Ready to Play in 18 minutes (or 25 minutes, or 1 hour and 15 minutes)" and we'd have to sit there and wait for it to decide to say "Your TV show is available. Press Play to begin." If we hit fast forward before it was ready (trying to goose the thing) it would lock up and start the process all over again. It was getting to the point where an 42-minute program would take an hour's time to watch.
I tried changing cables and went back to a rented show where it had happened and it worked fine. I then changed back to the original cable and it too worked fine. However it was earlier in the day and it got me to wondering if it's a server streaming issue. Could this be it? I'm at a loss. It's making me question the worth of this paradigm.

I think that it might be caused by some problems in your feed. You have a lot of HTML in your podcast description and subtitle areas that could possibly be causing iTunes to have problems reading it properly.
I ran the feed through feedvalidator.org and it popped up several problems. One of your <itunes:subtitle> tags is too long. The <itunes:subtitle> should just be a short one line description of the podcast episode. Feedvalidator is saying that one of these is over 255 characters in length.

  • ITunes Store interface locks up iTunes...

I am having a really annoying bug in iTunes 11.0.1
The interface in the store with lock up and none of the navigation buttins across the top will function. I can't get back to my library. I can't quit itunes from the menu bar. I can pick it but it just doesn't do anything. The status says "Accessing iTunes Store..." and the little x next to it is also unresonsive. I can use comand-L to get back to whatever I am playing. Even after that the Store is still trying to load something and it never seems to time out. Anything store related stops working as if the whole pipe is jammed up. I can't click to update my deveices. Cloud data such as Movies and TV shows will not download. The iCloud cloud gets a little lightning bolt meaning it is ofline. But I can still play music in my library so I know things aren't frozen.
The whole while music will still play and the rest of the system is fine. I have to force quit itune to get things working again. I am going to let is go now and see if it ever times out. If it doesn'tm then this is really poorly written software. Nothing should tie it up like that. The software should be smart enought to know somehting is wrong and quit the process. And if you put and "x" next to a progress bar then the user should be able cancel whatever process that it no mater what and get the system back.
Bad QC Apple. As usual lately....

  • Vista..Can't connect to the iTunes store... Could before, but not now...

I recently had a problem with not being able to connect to the iTunes store on Vista. I was able to connect, and then all of a sudden one day it wouldn't connect. When I tried to go to the iTunes store it would give me the box that is the same as the one you see in a web browser when you click on a link to iTunes that says "One moment Please, Connecting to the iTunes store...". Only it was in iTunes and wouldn't go to the store. It just sat there saying "Loading...".
After going to the powers that be at Apple/Support to no avail, I googled it and found this.
    1. Close iTunes.
    2. Delete the iTunesPrefs.xml file from C:\Users\+user name+\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes.
    3. Delete the iTunesPrefs.xml file from C:\Users\+user name+\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes.
    4. Launch iTunes & follow the setup prompts
This will make it like it's the first time you have used iTunes and may import duplicates you have in WMP, so unchceck this option when you come to it. You will not lose any of the music in your iTunes library, just the annoying connection problem. I hope this helps someone!!

    Couple of things to try:
Allow itunes and itunes helper in your AV/Security software firewall (not just in the windows firewall)

  • Windows Vista, Itunes 11, and Itunes Store

Running Windows Vista, and upgraded to Itunes 11.  I am trying to access the Itunes Store, but I am getting an error message (-50) when trying to get into the store.  Going through Windows updates, but still getting the same error message.  Any suggestions?

Just in case, even though you're running a newer version of iTunes, let's try giving the following document a try:
iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store

I have a 16bit vista laptop which is unreliable and I do not wish to use it to transfer songs to my new iPod Nano. Can I sync downloads from my Apple iPad instead?

You need to contact Apple to get the questions reset. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.
Whichever method you use, you probably won't get a response until the 26th. If you absolutely must make a purchase before then, create a new Apple ID; you won't be able to transfer previous purchases or iTunes Store credit to it.

Since upgrading to Vista I can no longer connect to the iTunes store, log into my account or update artwork. I get an error message asking me to check my settings and occasionally an "error-3150".

  • Problem after updating to iTunes 10.5 on Windows Vista.. I can no longer access the iTunes store..

    Hi
After updating to iTunes 10.5 on Windows Vista I have found that I can no longer access the iTunes store... I am left with a blank iTunes screen with the loading bar stuck at halfway..
All other features seem to work... only opening  the iTunes store is failing..
I have ran the diagnostics feature and this says everything is ok, so I'm a bit stuck
    Please help

Purple-Gecko...all that I can say is, "Boom!!!"  You are THE man/woman, whichever the case may be.
The "netsh winsock reset" command worked like a charm for my machine (running Windows XP SP3).  I have had two weeks of frustration with this issue and finally found your post which got me back online with the iTunes store.  My problem accessing the iTunes store began once I downloaded and installed iTunes 10.5 in preparation to upgrade to OS5.  Once 10.5 was installed, I could open iTunes and access everything except the store (which prevented any of my devices from being able to sync). I followed all of the suggestions that I could find in Apple Support and the suggestions that I was emailed from Apple's support techs.  I unistalled all Apple software and reinstalled iTunes multiple times, and still could not access the store.
Your suggestion is the only "cure" that I have found.
I thank you, my iPod thanks you, and my iPhone 4 thanks you for taking the time to post this fix.

I have a problem with the iTunes Store, I have an ipod and an iphone 2. I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 2007, entering into iTunes Store on the main screen I get only AppStore, Podcast and iTunes U. In my screen I get only ipad2 Podcast, iTunes U Downloads. My problem is I can not access any application to download music, videos, books, etc..
ITunes will be installed wrong or what should I do to activate these options?

Go to the front page of the Store, and click Change Country.  Make sure it is set to the country where you actually are.
Then you will be able to see everything that is for sale in your country, which, depending where you live, might or might not include music.

  • Cannot connect to itunes store-with Windows Vista

I downloaded itunes 7 and thats when my problem started. From itunes store I click on account to create a new account because my aol account is expired. When the connection is attempted an apple itunes error screen comes on that says "Your request could not be completed". "Make sure your computer's date is set correctly and that it accepts cookies from the itunes music store. For detailed solutions to solve the issue, click "more info". When I do that I get instructions to make sure cookies can be accepted. I have already checked my Internet Explorer settings and added the itunes music store to my "always trusted" websites. The second instructions have me hung up. It says to go into control panel, date and time, and click on "internet time". Then to synchronize with an internet time server. When I try to do that with each server listed, I get errors. "An error occured while attempting to synchronize with the server" time.windows.com or any of the others as well. I have tried a thousand times over and I cannot get synchronization. Is this what is really stopping me from connecting to the itunes music store? When I went to Windows Vista help, Microsoft says that Vista Home Premium Edition does not have sync capabilites. PLEASE HELP! I hope someone has encountered and solved this problem. Thanks.
