Hello everybody!!
this is my first post. Please help me.
I am new to JEE and i am having problem in starting it.I have installed JEE 5 update 3 on win XP and i am using Firefox mozilla as my browser.
The installation of JEE goes fine and i get the congratulation message that installation is successfull.
Then when i start the default server the message on the command promt is like this::
Starting Domain domain1, please wait.
Log redirected to C:\Sun\SDK\domains\domain1\logs\server.log.
Redirecting output to C:/Sun/SDK/domains/domain1/logs/server.log
Domain domain1 is ready to receive client requests. Additional services are bein
g started in background.
Domain [domain1] is running [Sun Java System Application Server 9.1 (build b58g-
fcs)] with its configuration and logs at: [C:\Sun\SDK\domains].
Admin Console is available at [http://localhost:4848].
Use the same port [4848] for "asadmin" commands.
User web applications are available at these URLs:
[http://localhost:8080 https://localhost:8181 ].
Following web-contexts are available:
[web1 /__wstx-services ].
Standard JMX Clients (like JConsole) can connect to JMXServiceURL:
[service:jmx:rmi:///jndi/rmi://WAGONTRACKER:8686/jmxrmi] for domain management p
urposes.
Domain listens on at least following ports for connections:
[8080 8181 4848 3700 3820 3920 8686 ].
Domain does not support application server clusters and other standalone instanc
es.
Press Any Key to Continue..
After this when i start the Admin console from > start > program
a new browser opens with url http://localhost:4848/ but admin consol does not open.
i tried to open it by manually typing http://localhost:4848/ but still nothing works.
please help.I have uninstalled and re-installed it many times but nothing changes.
plz help as i badly need help.
Thanks in advance. As per the Quick Start for Basic Features given in the JEE C:\Sun\SDK\docs http:// localhost:4848 should open Sun Java System Application Server Admin Console where i am supposed to enter admin user name and password to proceed further but this doesnot happen.
I checked the log it shows the message with following error Unexpected error forwarding or redirecting to login page.
I am copy pasting the entire error message. Please guide me if u can ::

Slow in accessing Virtual Admin, Log Viewer and ConfigTool
I'm trying to access the Virtual Admin, Log Viewer and ConfigTool remotely and the accessing speed is awfully slow.
Slow in terms of when I click on certain menu, it took me about 30-60 seconds just load the items.
Any particular setting that I can do to improve the loading speed?
P/S: I'm running SAP EP 7.0 on Sun Solaris 10, Oracle 10g, Java 1.4.3
Thanks

Visual Studio 2008 does not open .rptproj 2008 projects
I have installed
- SQL Server 2008 original version with SP1 and the Business Intelligence Development Studio
- Visual Studio 2008 with SP1.
I am told that Reporting Services 2008 is part of the Business Intelligence Development Studio 2008,
however when I try to open my Reporting Services 2008 .rptproj files with Visual Studio 2008, they will not open.
The error message is:
'C:\vs2008\CWReportsVS2008\CWReportsVS2008\CWReportsVS2008.rptproj' cannot be opened because its project type (.rptproj) is not supported by this version of the application.
To open it, please use a version that supports this type of project.
My VS 2008 cofiguration is:

Is there something I haven't installed yet?Hi,
This issue might be caused because your VS2008 did not yet install BIDS report project. So, please open the New Project dialogue to check if there is Business Intelligence Development Studio component in the Project Types pane in your vs 2008. If it
is not there, install this component (can from the SQL server intallation client tools) so that you can open Reporting Services 2008 .rptproj files in the VS2008.

Index.log - could not open document
I get error when indexing a folder.
The document with the problem is named: document.pdf
Other documents in this folder works fine.
The index.log tells:
Could not open document: W:\Doc\document.pdf-Press Quality.joboptions
This file is skipped in the created index.
What is the problem?
I tried to regenerate the pdf - still the same problem.
Is the index process looking for the joboption file when doing the indexing job?
It's a kind of weared as I use this Joboption in other documents without problem.
I use software:
Frame Maker 10.
Adobe Acrobat X Pro.
Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.Hi Bill!
Thanks.
My version was 10.0.x
I now updated to 10.1.13. This did not help.
How I get there in the first place?
I work at a company that develops and manufactures machines and systems.
My job is to produce instruction books, manage and distribute all documentation (manuals, diagrams etc.) to our customers.
This is done by gathering all pdf-documents (wiring diagrams manuals etc.) in a doc-folder (documents are contained in sub folders), linking these documents in a master-page (main menu). (Documents in the folders includes pdf documents from other suppliers.)
When all this is done, I create an index for all documents in the doc-folder. Then connecting this index to the master page.
This makes the entire documentation set searchable from the master page.
Normally, this works just fine.
But not for this this document.
I just do not understand what the error actually means.
Could not open document: W:\Doc\document.pdf-Press Quality.joboptions
This "document.pdf" is an instruction manual that can be opened as any other pdf file.
More ideas are very much appreciated. -

J2ee log viewer not functioning
I get the error "BAMConfiguration.xml could not be created" in the j2ee logviewer iview. Anyone know what this is ?
Thanks
JBWhete do you set that path? In SAP note # 655898 it says to
If you need a different directory (or on UNIX), you will need a workaround: create a Page (or add to an existing one), an iView from the Portal Archive. Select "com.sap.portal.logviewer620" and follow the next instructions. Use the "logviewer620" profile (not default). Afterwards edit the properties of the iView like setting the used J2EE server etc. and especially add the attribute "Directory path where BAMConfiguration.xml will reside" (or "bamConfigPath") and set it according to your system (change it from C:\Temp to ...):
How do you add the iview com.sap.portal.logviewer620 to a page, I cannot find it.

XI 7.0 Visual Admin issue
Hello,
I am trying to install XI 7.0 (NW 2004s). The installation was error-free. However, while doing post installation steps, Visual Admin threw a 'Session expired' error. Since then, I am unable to login to Visual Admin using J2EE_ADMIN (throws "Authentication did not succeed" error). I have activated SAP* user using configtool, and unlocked J2EE_ADMIN. I have also changed J2EE_ADMIN password several times using SAP GUI.
But still, the error persists.
Please let me know if anyone has a solution.
Thanks in advance
ParthaHi Partha,
Try opening Visual Admin if your not able to login with username(administrator) and password. Problem with NWD2004s do the following steps.
C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool->configtool.bat->open it
1. Click on Secure store
2. Right you will find :
admin/password/J2E->retype your admin passowrd which you gave during installation=>SAVE properly
Restart the server and try login visual admin
Now ur able to login visual admin right follow the steps:
Try here If ur not able to login http://<server name>/irj/portal :home page using (username)administrator and password
do the following steps(user locked).
(**Administrator locked so we have enable superadmin and unlock the administrator and again diasble the super admin
then only can able to login using administrator**)
=>Activating emergency(super admin) user:-
1. Start configtool
2. set the following properties: [Instance_ID<ID> -> Server_ID<ID> -> services -> com.sap.security.core.ume.service]
a. ume.superadmin.activated - true
=>i doubht here did u saved properly
b. ume.superadmin.password - <password> [set the password->click set button->
it will again ask by open popup window type the same and it will say restart to reflects]
3. Restart Java Application server
Unlocking administrator:
Login to Portal Page => http://<severname>/irj/portal
Give username:SAP* and password which u typed
=>under user management tab ->click on search user left pane -> search label followed by input field will be there ->give * in inputfield and click search button->
you can we view ALL users and roles etc.
select user administration by clicking on check box ->modify->reset the password->save properly
Again diable super admin go to
1. Start configtool
2. set the following properties: [Instance_ID<ID> -> Server_ID<ID> -> services -> com.sap.security.core.ume.service]
a. ume.superadmin.activated - false->save it will ask u restart is must for reflect the settings
3. Restart Java Application server
Go to http://<severname>/irj/portal

How ALBPMEngine logs can be read other than using log viewer

Mark,
I would be interested in knowing how you can decouple the obpmlogviewer.exe app from the OBPM Enterprise installation.
How can I send a simple .zip file to others and tell them: "hey, unzip (or install) this only and you will be able to read OBPM engine logs files on your local machine" ?
The logViewer executable can't be run without an enterprise install (at least not easily decoupled), however, an alternative, would be to pass someone the .jnlp and some log files.... To do this, open up the process admin, and in the top right, is a link for 'Launch Log Viewer'. Open that, and then go to 'File - Save As', and this will save a java executable to your computer.
I'm pretty sure you can pass that, and either an admin user and password to view 'live' logs, or just have them cancel the remote log, and open a local file....
Adam,
PS: I don't see any opbmlogreader.exe or .sh or .bet in the OBPM_HOME\bin directory. I am looking at OBPM standalone, and the only relevant files I can see are obpmlogviewer.exe , obpmlogviewer.lax , lax.jar. Am I missing something?
MaxI too don't have the log reader, however I do remember it... I'm thinking the .sh might only be included in the linux distribution of enterprise, so I'm downloading that now to verify... I will let you know what I find...

6.02 will not open in 6.02
5 projects were edited in the Administrator Log-In over a two month period. (Leopard, Quad 3gig, 4 meg or ram. FCP 6.02) Since they are students they were not given an admin password and now they must edit in their own account. The FCP files copied to their account from the admin account will not open in their account, only the Admin account. The prompt says they were created on a newer version of FCP. We created XML files and created new project files and all is well. However, this is a problem. If I'm editing on the admin login and want to share it with another user on this computer, bingo, it will not work. It works fine on any other computer, just not the computer it was created on. Has anyone else had this problem?
