Voice over IP using E1 Lines

Hello,
I am planning to shift normal FXS cards to E1 cards so that i could use E1 lines and their 30 channels using one cable other then using a whole lot of FXS cards each giving just two connection points. I am using 2801 and 3845 routers. Kindly suggest me some Network modules and E1 Cards that support voice and also some example configuration for it. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jay Kishan

if u want to use all the channels on E1 , below is a sample config.
controller E1 2/0
framing NO-CRC4
pri-group timeslots 1-31
note: CRC-4 OR NO-CRC4 , same config must be on router and pbx.
interface Serial1/0:15
description -- Q.sig
no ip address
no logging event link-status
isdn switch-type primary-qsig
isdn protocol-emulate network
isdn incoming-voice voice
isdn sending-complete
no cdp enable
voice-port 1/0:15
input gain 1
output attenuation -6
echo-cancel coverage 32
cptone IN
description --- To E1 1/0
busyout monitor Serial0/0.1
hope it helps u, other than this u hav to configure the pots dial-peer and some global config for voice.

    Thank you! I had the same problem. This worked. Thanks!!

  • Remote Voice Over Workflows using FCP - thoughts?

    I am going to try and keep this as simple as possible.
    I am Producer and host for an Australian Drag Racing Show that we air nationally...
    We record these shows in Full 1080 HD using modern XFILE systems (EVS) using the Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) codec.
    Our ENG/EFP team use XDCAM (full 1080i HD).
    We edit these shows using FCP 7 amongst a few suites.
    I also do some offline content on my 17inch i7 MBP using FCP too.
    My question is thus:
    The Post Production Team are based in Sydney on the east coast, whilst I am based in Western Australia - this is like being in LA in comparison to New York!
    I want to reduce my travel commitment by air, as in the past I have travelled weekly to commentate these shows (40+ shows a year!)
    I have - as does the production house - a reasonably good ADSL Internet connection.
    I do a lot of Producing and program checks using iChat Theatre within FCP 7. It is quite good.
    What I want to get to though is a way in being able to more often commentate these shows remotely from home, without the need for me to physically having to be across country on every occasion - for my sanity's sake.
    My co-commentator also lives near me, however our editors are all based across country, together in Sydney.
    I see the following options as being the way to do this:
    OPTION 1.
    When we ingest (log and transfer) the vision, I will always be in Sydney at that time. There are usually several shows generated from this vision.
    I copy the Quicktime MOV files that are for use in the shows to my external (eSATA) HD.
    Editors in Sydney cut the racing components of our show. They then email me the FCP project file.
    (I have FCP, the required Audio and Mics)
    Then, I open this FCP Project File and re-link and re-render as required once I receive this and we commentate the shows using the VO utility within Final Cut.
    I then do an Audio export only and send the editors the updated FCP Project file, for them to receive and re-link the vision as required, sound mix and print.
    OPTION 2.
    The Editors cut the shows, then export either within FCP or Compressor a reduced quality file size to send via FTP or sendspace.
    I then import this vision locally into FCP, render the vision and commentate it accordingly and just send back the audio.
    SO:
    What would you all suggest as the easiest and best way to do this. We do have tight work timeframes in terms of getting content to air.
    I think Option1 is by far the best, and what I am not sure about is if I did Option2 - what settings for export and I want to avoid bogging down the editors on handling cumbersome vision exports anyway?
    Thoughts?
    Dean...

    I would probably go with option 2, myself - I usually export my cuts and run the movie thru compressor with the H.264 LAN or H.264 800KBPS presets. These are found under Apple/Other Workflows/Web/Streaming/Quicktime 7/
    These take up roughly 10MB per minute and 5MB per minute respectively.
    While I have used Option 1 (duplicate media, transferring a project file), this can get problematic when the editors have generated media - like effects, color correction, etc...
    my 2¢

  • Adobe Edge -  How to voice over syncing with time-line animation in adobe edge ?

    Hi ,
    I have created e-learning animation demo in using edge animate tool.
    I want to add voiceover  in this demo & functionality (play/ pause button, sound on/off)
    Regards
    Susanta Kumar Muduli

    This has worked for me inserted into a click event:
    var newSound = new Audio();
            newSound.src = "music.mp3";
            newSound.volume = 0.5;
            newSound.play();
    In a browser I have gotten it to play automatically, but on my  stupidphone I have to click on something.
    from Edge Animate JavaScript Docs - on Help Menu: Look at the example they cite
    bindTimelineAction
    Symbol.bindTimelineAction ( compId, symbolName, timelineName, eventName,actionFunction )
    compId - The composition ID, passed through the project-level closure. For example, "EDGE-519469".
    symbolName - The symbol ID, passed through the symbol closure.
    timelineName - The timeline name.
    eventName - The event. For example, click.
    actionFunction - The JavaScript function that executes when the trigger action fires. For stop, complete, and play events, the action function takes no arguments. For update events, the argument is elapsed. the milliseconds elapsed since the start of the timeline's playing.
    Description: Defines a function that executes when the specified timeline event is triggered.
    Example:
    Symbol.bindTimelineAction(compId, symbolName, "Default Timeline", "play", function(sym, e) {
    var adobesound=new Audio();
    adobesound.src="sound/SleepAway.mp3";
    sym.setVariable("adobesound", adobesound);
    this.getSymbol("volplus").stop(0);
    this.getSymbol("volminus").stop(0);
    adobesound.volume=0.1;
    $(adobesound).bind("ended",function(){
    adobesound.play();
    Good luck

  • Audio voice over syncing

    Has anyone tried to do audio syncing like voice over an animation with EA CC 2014? Using the timeline I was able to embed a voice over in the browser and seems to work very well. I created a symbol with voice over and have an instance created with createChildSymbol() method from another symbol. At times, however, the audio is delayed and throws off the timing. I'm not sure how to solve this problem. Has anyone notice this?

  • Voice over too "present"

    I've created voice overs by using a hand held microphone connected to my HD video camera, capturing, deleting the video, and inserting into the film. The sound is very good, but it's a little too "present". I don't think it's a question of just reducing the volume, but rather the overall "timber" if you will, doesn't sound professional. Is there an audio effect I can add to give it more of that professional feel?
    Many thanks for your help.
    Geoff

    Based on your description, it sounds (no pun intended) like the location where you are recording is acoustically live, basically meaning it's an open area with a lot of hard surfaces around you.
    Consider using some acoustic foam panels or even just a blanket or two to create a smaller, softer 'space' around the area where you have your mic. This will help dampen the ambiance of the room and give you results more like the studio sound you referred to.
    Of course it also helps to have a good mic, not some little cheap thing from some bigbox store.  The Shure SM58 and SM57 are highly respected vocal mics that have been in professional use for decades.  About $99 new; $30-$50 used on eBay.
    Note: I do not receive any compensation nor do I have any financial interest in the equipment or vendors referred to in this post.

  • Nano, itunes, voice over

    I purchased a nano and installed voice over kit, using my computer/itunes, for a friend who is blind. We do not live in the same city so I want to do what I can to keep it as simple as possible. My question; when she syncs with her computer is it going to be necessary to again install voice over? If she has installed itunes, but not set up an account, will itunes ask if she wants her computer to be authorized to my account? This would be idea as I could then manage itunes for both of us.
    Any suggestions/assistance appreciated.
    Hmm, just thought of something else. If I use WinXP and she uses win7 is that going to make a difference?

    Interesting question. If you live near an Apple Store, ask one of the Geniuses about the setup you want. Read the iPod Nano 5th Gen. User Manual. Perhaps there is a solution there or search Apple's Knowledge Base.

    Swipe the page from right ro left to turn pages.
    And try a two finger swipe from top to bottom to read an entire page.

  • Using voice-over function I see the result on the specific audio track but I don't hear anything. What to do?.

    Making a film in imovie I never had problems with voice-over. However in my current project I experienced problems at the end. Using the voice-over function I see the result - audio waves at the voice-over track - but I don't hear any sound of this track if I review or play this part of the project. Somebody an idea what I did wrong? Thanks for any suggestion.

    Not sure why, but sometimes a project will just cease playback of Voiceovers added to it. I've seen this before, but never had it persist into a new project. As with any issues that are specific to a single project, it's usually best to start over, as one problem is quite possibly indicative of further issues down the line with that same project.
    As a workaround (if you REALLY want to avoid recreating the project) would be to copy the voiceover files from within the iMovie Project file (browse to your Movies/iMovie Projects/ folder and right-click or CTRL+Click on the name of the project, then click "Show Package Contents") for that project out to your Desktop (or any other accessible location), then drag them back in to add them as a regular audio track. I've used this trick successfully, but it's not 100% (going back to the 'one problem means more later' thing).

  • Using "voice over" to add music soundtrack

    Hi,
    I was wondering if this would work:
    Attach "midi out" from keyboard to line in (headphone-type jack) on late-2009 imac and then use the "voice over" function in FCE. While watching my sequence I would play my soundtrack music on the keyboard.
    I thought this would be a good way to get the timing right and perhaps avoid a lot of little steps.
    I would just try it, of course, except I don't have an XLR to "headphone type jack" adaptor and would rather not buy one only to find out the it won't work or that it will sound really poor.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Midi-out will not work for this. Don't even try it - the signal (digital) is the wrong type to connect to an analog audio-in. And if I remember correctly, MIDI is 5v or higher, which could blow the audio-in.
    But if your keyboard has an *audio out* - that would work with the audio-in on your Mac (line level or headphone out - most keyboards I've seen have one or both of them).

  • Recommended microphones for Voice Over use

    I have tried plugging in my Sony wireless microphone, and also a shotgun mic into the line in port, but with no success. The mics aren't being recognised by Final Cut.
    Can anyone advise me what I am doing wrong, or recommend a different microphone that I should be using?
    Thanks

    There are a number of places to check to ensure the system is accepting audio from the Line In port.
    1. In the Voice Over tool, look in the middle of the window and SOURCE to Built-in Audio and set INPUT to Line In.
    2. In: the Blue Apple on the menu bar>System Preferences>Audio - make sure you have set the imput to Line In
    3. In Utilities> Audio Midi Setup>Audio Devices - make sure you have the Default Imput set for the line in port on your mac.
    It has been noted by many people that the files brought in this way (through VO) often need serious gain added (aka - they are very quiet and the volume needs to be increased). A mic pre-amp is a good idea. Otherwise, you can either bump the gain in FCP or use an external audio app (i use peak) to bring it up to desired levels.
    good luck,

  • Does anyone know how to monitor a microphone when using Voice Over tool?

    I use Final Cut studio in conjunction with an AJA Kona LHe card. Audio inputs are via the AJA. I monitor the output from FCP through the AJA card via a Samson C-Control (monitor matrix). Here's my problem. When I'm recording voice over, I am unable to monitor the sound from the microphone through the headphones (or speakers). There is definitely an audio feed being routed to the headphones as I am able to hear the audio cue countdown. The microphone is working fine too - when it comes to playing back the voice over through the headphones (or speakers), I can hear the track absolutely fine. Has anyone experienced the same problem... and do you know how to solve it? Many thanks, AW

    its not that you've anything screwy going on .. this is the way it is engineered to work.
    the pre-existing audio (and cues) is routed to the headphones but not the voice being recorded.
    the solution is to use an audio mixer to monitor both the voice over and the timeline

  • We are recording 2 voices over an instrumental track. Every time there is a rest in the vocal part the volume of the instrumental track noticeable increases. Is this fixable? We are using Alesis multi mix 8 with 2 microphones.
