Hi.. Just want to ask, what if my iphone4 volume button is not working and when i listen to music and watch videos theres no sounds at all but when im having an incoming call, it has sounds.. Is it harware or software problem?

Using the phone for a few days seems to have solved the low volume issues.

My Mac Volume/Hard Disk is not displayed in "My Computer". I read it will display the Volume in read-only mode. Can anyone help in making the Volume show on Windows?

You are familiar with beta testing? Ever?
It is ah, "normal" for audio to not work on Mac running Windows until YOU install an audio driver.
AppleHFS.sys and AppleMNT.sys were buggy with Windows 7 3.0 and 3.1
If you want, see what Paragon HFS 9.5 $19 and ask Paragon-Software about whether you can beta test their HFS driver.
Their CampTune 9.5 was just updated to support Lion.
I would also call Lion 7.1 still in the "early" stage and not fully ready - give it a couple updates like every other OS X release - in the 'final candidate+' stage too. The Boot Camp 4 drivers for Windows are better now than they were in July but still some rough spots and things missing.
And there was a firmware update for the MBP just this week, and that model has been through 3-4 minor chip revisions to the motherboards, some of which deas with support and bugs with SATA 3 affecting SSD support.

Fluctuating volume and sound quality?

Windows 7. HP Pavilion Entertainment PC. Bose speaker system. Sound seems fine through the iPod Nano and Bose speakers, but fluctuates and seems weirdly compressed through iTunes on the laptop. Don't remember it ever being that way. New version of iTunes to blame? Virus?

It sounds like your iTunes volume not functioning correctly when playing through your speakers, but your iPod Nano seems to work just fine with it. I would first check the equalizer to see if it is set to something unexpected in iTunes with this article and verify that your audio is set up correctly:

When Charging my Iphone 5's volume and sound goes away

I found a resource to help troubleshoot what may be going on with the camera. Its from our article named iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Third-party cases can interfere with the autofocus/exposure feature and the flash (iPhone 4 only); try removing the case if you have image-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
And
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
If the issue still persists then I would recommend backing up and restoring the iPhone. If the previous troubleshooting does not resolve it, then this will if it is a software issue.

After wiping it, you need to re-activate it. If it is carrier locked, you will need to activate it on the network it is locked to.

First you must send a follow request to the Verizon rep. They must approve it. They must also send you a follow request which you must approve. At that time, you can send a DM to the rep.
With that said, I am not sure who you should send the follow request to. The signature at the bottom of the rep's message says michelleh_vzw yet the userid of the post says yoseft_vzw.
I suppose I would try sending one to michelleh_vzw first since they signed the post. You can do that by hovering your cursor over their userid which I have included in this post and clicking on the "Follow" button in the dialogue box which opens up while you are hovering the cursor over the userid. Then you can only wait for them to respond before you can do anything else.

PSA: in iOS 7.1.1, alert sounds are tied to your media/game volume and not to your ringer volume

I was befuddled by this for a long time.
Alert sounds would just stop making noise. This includes dings from txt messages and new mail.
If I went to Settings>Sounds>Text Tone and select several options, all I would get were vibrations.
I rebooted the phone and toggled the silence switch on and off.
I finally figured out that if I started a game and turned the volume up, the noises would come back.
I think it is reasonable for a user to wish to play a game on mute but still hear alert messages.
I think if we can only have two separate systems for audio control, the alert sounds should be tied to the ringer, not to the media/game sounds.
When I spoke to an apple support person over online chat, they seemed to agree that this sounds like a bug.
I have seen many confused posts in these forums regarding alert sounds suddenly disappearing.

I've had a 5S since a few weeks after launch and this problem has only come about in the last few weeks, so I suspect it has to do with a recent OS patch.
Sometimes my alert messages just stop working. They seem to work one minute, then they stop. Alert messages would include email notifications and txt message pings. When they are not working, I can go into Settings>Sounds>Text Tone, and all of the options will simply result in a vibration and no sound.
Rebooting the phone does not fix the problem.
What I have found to fix the problem is to open a game and raise the volume of the game. Then when I exit the game, alert messages start again.
This seems reversible, if I go back in and mute a game, my alert messages go away as well.
If this is by design, I do not think it should be, as I think it is reasonable for a user to want to control the "media" part of the volume separately from the "ringer" and "alerts" part of the volume. It makes sense to want play a game or video on mute but still get alert messages. If anything, I think the alerts volume should be tied to the ringer volume, I think that would make sense.

Additional info, which makes me think this is a bug rather than a feature. If you go into Settings > Sounds and turn off the "Change with Buttons" option, then the ringer should always ring at the volume of the slider on the screen.
The volume buttons now appear to only affect the media/games volume, and it works as expected EXCEPT:
if you are in a game and you mute the volume in the game, then exit the game, all alert sounds are muted and you can't turn them back up by raising the volume with the volume buttons.
If you go back into the game and raise the volume within the game, then exit the game, then alert sounds do turn back on.

Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.
1. Remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
4. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup

I see you are experiencing issues with sound on applications when playing video/audio content. If this is the case, the first thing I would check is if the side switch is set to silent as this can cause applications to be mute. If you are not getting any sound from the speaker, follow this article.

Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.

Interesting bug. I'm cautiously optimistic this will get rid of the weekly annoyance. The difference is that I bought my laptop back in Feb 2015, so it came with Yosemite. I think the issue may have appeared soon after an OS update not long after I got the thing, though. I was using a sudo command in the Terminal, but that is obviously not a fix.
I wonder if there is a broken .plist file that may be fixed ...?

Have you tried System Restore to revert to settings before the issue occured? Start,All Programs, Accessories, System Tools_System Restore. Choose a date before the problem.
