List of calendar events/ hard to read

Before I installed Snow Leopard, iCal allowed me to see a list of all entries in a calendar group. How do I get this feature?
I use iCal as a means of documenting past events such as birthdays or medical visits. Seems this latest revision has made a step backwards or have I missed something.
Also, the contrast is poor. Difficult to read. Can't adjust font size. Obviously designed by a young person not for us seniors.

What kind of entries? Calendars?
If I create a calendar group, calendars appear individually in a list after rotating the triangle on the left of the group name, assuming I dragged them there already to be inside the group. Do you have that appearance available?
Contrast is definitely weird from iCal, as if testing showed people were confused about ground colours versus highligh colours when the entire rainbow was in play. I don't like it either. Don't forget that you can "get info" on a calendar and use the colour picker to select the darkest colours available if that helps you. The burgundy of iCal's icon makes a unique dark colour if you use the magnifying glass to select something.

Is there some way of doing this

    cj,
After selecting Calendar>File>Print...> I am presented with a Print selection pane which offers among other choices, a "List" selection:
    What do you see?

  • List of calendar events??

Before the iOS7 update you used to be able to look at a complete list of calendar events and scroll through them but now it appears you can only view the list at the bottom of each calendar date. Can someone tell me if there is a way to look at the complete list please?

In the Month view of the calendar, tap any day.  You should now be in Day view. Tap the 3 red lines at the top of the screen and you should see what you wanted. (Next to the magnifying glass)

  • How to print list of calendar events?

    Hi,
I'm trying to print a list of events for a specific calendar that only lists scheduled events, not days with nothing scheduled.
After a time consuming process of delselecting all calendars I DON'T want on the list, selecting the time frame (4 months) and that I want to print a list, the result includes every day of the months and if there isn't something scheculed, it says "no scheduled event."
However, this takes up space and is distracting.  I just want a list of dates that have an event scheduled.  Does this make sense?
Also, does it make sense that there is a delay each time I de-select a calendar?  The colorful pinwheel somes on and spins for a few minutes before letting me de-select the next calendar.
I am working on a Mac Book Pro, OS 10.9.1.
    Thanks!
    Anne

That's not from Calendar, it's from Automator.
Open Automator (in Applications Folder), Select Application (then once saved, you can just click the App to run a 4 month summary)
In the left pane of Automator, you'll see the Calendar Actions, drag to the right pane, as follows:
This is the workflow you want:
    1. Get Specified Calendar Items
    2. Filter Calendar Events
    3. Event Summary
    4. New Text File
The report will look like this (I used my Holidays calendar):
    TOTAL EVENTS: 12
    EVENT 1 OF 12
    Summary:   Daylight Saving Time
    Status:        none
    Date:          03/09/14 to 03/10/14
Time:          2:00:00 AM to 12:00:00 AM
    EVENT 2 OF 12
    Summary:   Saint Patrick’s Day
    Status:        none
    Date:           03/17/14 to 03/18/14
Time:          12:00:00 AM to 12:00:00 AM
    EVENT 3 OF 12
    Summary:   Palm Sunday
    Status:        none
    Date:           04/13/14 to 04/14/14
Time:          12:00:00 AM to 12:00:00 AM
    EVENT 4 OF 12
    Summary:   Passover
    Status:        none
    Date:          04/15/14 to 04/16/14
Time:          2:00:00 AM to 12:00:00 AM

  • How to filter Outlook for Mac calendar events by category using AppleScript

    Hi all --
I'm trying to write an Applescript on OSX to filter Outlook for Mac 2011 calendar events based on event categories, e.g. find all events tagged as "Conference". For example, I have a calendar event named "WWDC" that is found by the following script:
    tell application "Microsoft Outlook"
set theCategoryConference to first category whose name is "Conference"
set theConferenceList to every calendar event whose (subject is "WWDC")
display dialog "There were " & (count of theConferenceList) & " Conferences."
set theEvent to item 1 of items of theConferenceList
display dialog "Categories contains conference: " & (categories of theEvent contains {theCategoryConference})
    end tell
The above finds 1 event, and the final line displays "true" as this event has been tagged with the Conference category.
However what I really want to do is find all such events. The following fails to match any events:
    set theConferenceList to every calendar event whose categories contains {theCategoryConference}
ThIs seems to me like it should work, but returns 0 matching events. Is there a different syntax to use, or is this a limitation of Outlook for Mac that perhaps doesn't allow filtering events based on a nested collection (the categories attribute on calendar event objects)?
    Thanks!
    Ramon

    Hello
I don't have Outlook 2011 but only guess here.
Generally speaking, AppleScript's "whose" filter is very limited and does not support list containment test. So perhaps you'd have to resort to something like the following script, which actually scans the events for test.
    tell application "Microsoft Outlook"
        my events_with_categories({category "Conference"})
    end tell
    on events_with_categories(cats)
list cats : list of categories to be matched
return list : list of calendar events whose categories contain every item of cats
        script o
            property ee : {}
            property cc : {}
            tell application "Microsoft Outlook"
                set ee to calendar events
repeat with e in my ee
                    set e to e's contents
                    set cc to e's categories
                    set _match to true
                    repeat with c in cats
                        set c to c's contents
if c is not in my cc then
                            set _match to false
                            exit repeat
                        end if
                    end repeat
if _match then set end of my ee to e
                end repeat
                return my ee's contents
            end tell
        end script
        tell o to run
    end events_with_categories
    Notes.
    * Script is not tested.
    * IF this works but is too slow, we may try to speed it up by retrieving categories of events (list of lists) in one statement, by which we can dramatically reduce the total number of Apple Events to send.
    Good luck,
    H

  • Address won't show up when creating a calendar event

I created an event like "Lunch". As location I started typing the friend's name, as her address is stored in Contacts on my iPhone (and synced over iCloud). The friend's address, though, won't show up. Besides, a friend's address, whose first name is the same, was shown.
This means that just the address that I'm looking for is not shown, but some others do show up! It doesn't make any sense to me.
Any hint? Is it kinda bug (for what??) or what else?

  • Is it possible to enter events into a specific iCal calendar, then print a list of those events with the name and date on a single sheet?

Is it possible to enter events into a specific iCal calendar, then print a list of those events with the name and date on a single sheet?  I don't need the calendar grid.  I just want a list of events on a particular calendar, and their dates.  Is that possible?

    Not easily. Two possibilities:
    1) If all the events have some common feature (eg you have included "XXX" in all the summaries), search for that feature then select and copy the found items at the bottom of the window. You can then paste them into TextEdit or a spreadsheet for printing
    2) You could write an Applescript to locate the events and write them into a text file for printing.
The first one will probably give you what you want.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. The following resource should assist you with printing calendars in list view. Step 2 includes information about the View pop-up menu where you’ll want to choose “List”:

How do I print a list of my events from one of my calendars for tax purposes?

I actually began this process by creating a new calendar called "Medical" and then each event was assogned to this calendar but the program still wants to print out every day of the month for even those days that have no events.  The list view gives me the look I want and I have even tried deselecting all of the options and then reselecting them one at a time to no avail.

  • List of all events in a calendar?

Is there a way to get a list of all events in a selected calendar?

    Larrry,
Uncheck all of the calendars except the one that you want to see all of the events, and type " in the "Search" field. All of the events will be revealed (Listed) in the resultant search pane.

  • Calendar events only go back one year in list view

Although visible in day & month views, calendar events only go back only about one year. And this also seems to preclude them from searches.
This seems to have been reported since 2008, and still exists in iOS 5. Any insight? Or do I need to switch back to Win Mobile?

In my calendar viewing in a list, I can see days back and forth.
View a list of events.  In month view, tap to see a day’s events. In day view, tap .
