Volume low after restart since Lion has been installed
Hi,
Since I have updated my iMac to Lion, all the time I start or restart it the volume of the integrated speakers is set to the minimum. I read other forums where people had the opposite, volume very high after each restart and I tried what was proposed (set volume in System preference/Audio or in Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI setup) but nothing works.
Before Lion I never had this problem. What could be wrong?

Have purchased a new computer but can not install elements 12 since it has been installed on an older laptop. This is a one time user program, is there a code that can be put in or a small fee to pay to be able to use the program again. Never installed the video editing and hoping this can be installed with no problem.
If the laptop is still connected Launch Elements in Expert Mode. Go to the help menu and sign-out. That will deactivate usage on the laptop.

Hello,
I am deploying a Labview 2011 application on 150 XP-machines in various plants worldwide. Currently all machines still have an old Labview 8.21 runtime (+old DAQmx). I have sent a procedure to my colleagues in the plants so that they install the new runtime (+ new DAQmx). On my side I have built a code to check from my Pc if a certain registry key is present on the 150 PCs which tells me that the new installer ran or not.
The key that I found is:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\1C5E801AE54C4AE43A59FC169F95CA28]
"ProductName"="NI-DAQmx MAX Configuration Support 9.3.5"
"PackageCode"="61EEAEC207A28A842B3341ED6809453D"
"Language"=dword:00000009
"Version"=dword:0923c001
"Assignment"=dword:00000001
"AdvertiseFlags"=dword:00000184
"InstanceType"=dword:00000000
"AuthorizedLUAApp"=dword:00000000
"Clients"=hex(7):3a,00,00,00,00,00
This works well but it does not tell me that the PC has restarted after the installer has been run. If I do not restart the PC and try to execute my Labview 2011 executable I get a long error message (NIDAQmx not registered,...).
As it seems difficult to get the properties of a key to know when it was installed I was rather leaning towards checking if a certain DLL (?) has been registered or not. But it is just a vague idea and I do not know how to put that in place.
I am attaching the current code that I have and that works well but cannot make the difference between Labview 2011 runtime installed and PC restarted or not.
Thanks for the help
Christophe

Check Remote Registry Key.vi 45 KBYou might look for a file that would be created as part of installation to determine the install date/time (ini or other support file created as part of runtime install)
Combine that with a query of the station's uptime and you could calculate if the station has been up longer than the time since the install. Not perfect, but should be possible...

Best way to downgrade to SL after Lion has been installed on MBP
After 2 days of reading multiple posts about iMovie on Lion and trying to make iMovie work on my MBP 2.4 Intel Core i5, I am giving up on Lion. Snow Leopard, I want you back.
I've already backed up all of my files, but before I reinstall SL, I would like to retain my Windows/Parallel configuration. I don't want to go through the lengnthy process of updating Windows and I am guessing there is a way to do that, but I am not sure how. Please help if you know how.

I seem to be unable to "boot(?)" from my original SL disc. However, I can insert the SL disc and the "install Mac OS. app" does appear. Is it as simple as clicking on the install icon and my old SL would be reinstalled?
If you have followed all the instructions in that post... then yes just Click.

Thank you. I have been following that thread and I still cannot figure out what will happen to my Windows/Parallels configuration. Will it stay intact or must reinstall Windows as well?
My understanding is that you will have a Fresh Install of SL and you will need to Run Software Update (to bring it upto Date...... so to speak)
and then Install any 3rd party Apps, such as Windows, etc...
Just one note based on experience... If you have a Lot of Updates after the Reinstall, (and you probably will...)
it would be best to update one at a time and Not all at once... and then leave your Machine running for a couple of days or so... if you can.
Hope this helps, Cheers. -
Making a bootable dics after Lion has been installed
How do I make a bootable dics of the Lions after I have installed it on my system. I could not fine a .dmg file anywhere or a install Mac OSX 7 app.
Apparently, you failed to save a copy of the install app to another location and the installer blew itself away after installing, which is normal behavior. You'll have to DL the installer again. When that's finished, see http://macnix.blogspot.com/2011/07/make-bootable-mac-os-x-lion-usb-flash.html for details on making a bootable disc.

I tried that, SL will not install. When I hold down the C button the only thing that comes is the OX and Windows and R HD. When I tap on the recocery HD what should I do then? Where is this recovery section at?
Thanks
It sounds like it is installed? Try clicking on the OSX!
The Recovery HD will download a copy of the installer and install it automatically. It will take a long time for the downloading. You should then have 10.7.2.
By the way it also includes a Disk Utility to check out and repair the disk first...
I would recommend doing this because as things are, you are likely to lose your data, trying to get back to SL. Anyway millions of people are using Lion and enjoying it, so don't be put off.
If you really want to go back to 10.6.0 then you'll need to boot from an external and run Disk Utility to remove the partioning, then do an erase / install. You will need to get your data off the computer first, including Bootcamp if that's what you mean by "Windows". Is it readable just now? -
I have been successfully downloading Aps from CC, but it is stuck at 90% on after effects. It has been stuck since last night. I am on a Mac.
Jonellel53796317 I would recommend reviewing the installation logs for the update which is failing to apply. You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC. You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

My iMac (upgraded to Lion) has been behaving super sluggishly.
My iMac (upgraded to Lion) has been behaving super sluggishly. slow to open my Word docs, Slow to close webtabs,.just so S L O W. Suggestions??
I have already tried restarting... I have very few programs..just the MSOffice App. I did look at a lot of websites (looking for vacation rentals).Well - all of the above were ultimately caused by one thing, of course the one thing I didn't replace - my 5-port Netgear 1Gb switch. Got a replacement and everything is fine. Lion was simply installed at the time the switch failed.

When I try to install GuideGuide extension this error message popups " This extension cannot be installed, since it conflicts with an existing one. To install this extension, please remove the extension 'GuideGuide' which has been installed in", then install again."
Photoshop CCHi,
Have you ever uninstalled Photoshop CC and installed Photoshop CC 2014, or uninstalled Photoshop CC 2014 then installed Photoshop CC?
If that, please re-install you uninstalled Photoshop, and remove GuideGuide from Extension Manager before uninstall.
Another option is remove extension manager database file, then launch Extension Manager to install it.
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Configuration\DB\ExMan.db (Windows)
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CC/Configuration/DB/ExMan.db (MAC)
But please notice that all your previously installed extensions will not be shown in Extension Manager after you removed database file. -
I have an epson T50 shared network, which is connected to a computer that runs on Windows 7 64-bit. The 10 days Apple has updated the printer drive and since then has been trying to print the following message: / Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS/ rastertoescpII failed.
What should I do?The first thing you should do is re-write your post to make it a bit more understandable. I got you have an Epson printer connected to your PC, however after that your post doesn't make any sense. Are you attempting to print from your iMac, if so then you need to download and install Bonjour for Windows on your Windows machine. Then set Windows so it has printer sharing turned on and then on the iMac simply follow Apple's instructions for adding a printer.

Firefox shows 1 add-on has been installed message every time I start after downgrade
After downgrading from FF4 to 3.6.16 I get a dialog every time I open FireFox telling me that 1 new add-on has been installed.
I assume it has something to do with the downgrade process since I haven't recently installed any add-ons.
How can I make this prompt go away?I found a discussion and some potential solutions for this problem on SuperUser.com.
[http://superuser.com/questions/37548/firefox-3-5-2-displays-installed-addons-on-every-startup-is-this-normal Firefox 3.5.2 displays installed addons on every startup, is this normal?]
The consensus seems to be re-install firefox. However, that didn't work for me.
What did work was this: If you look carefully (it's subtle) one of the add-ons will be a slightly different color in the dialog that comes up. That appears to be the problem one. Uninstall that add-on and re-install it. That worked for me. -
My version of Lightroom 6 is still showing trial version after Serial Number has been Installed.
I have tried re-installation but still have the same problem.
Could you please forward a solution to this problem.Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
