VOTE FOR THE BEST CD MANUFACTURING COMPANY (BEST QUALITY?)

MORE INTERESTING TOPICS FROM THE LPG
Are all CD's the same? Who has the best quality when it comes to buring your material to a CD for pressing and distribution.
There is also another interesting topic on how to protect your songs. Cd plants have burning system where they can protect the music so people can not extract them. Is this possible to do from home, such as not allowing the wav to turn into mp3. ITUNES ALSO HAS THIS FEATURE WHEN YOU BUY A SONG FROM THEM. THE SONG IS NOT CRACKABLE.
POST YOUR THOUGHTS.

We've been using Phillips the past 6 years... They are high quality and I can still use them today....Normally the cd's need to be re burned every 2 years some even every year....Sound crazy but Once we bought 100 Kodak's and after 1 year
we could not read half the data --- it may have been cuz of the recorder but backin gup on a cd or dvd dont last forever...Unfortunately....
Anyway, the we backup now is buying a firewire harddrive (Cost Approx. $1,- per GB) do our backup and put it in the closet till the next baclup is due. This is almost a cheap as backing up on DVDS and it is alot faster and easier....

  • A vote for the MBP Retina

For quite a few months I monitored these forums to see how the new retina MBP would go over.  I do know that forums are usually the places were people with problems appear.  Rarely do you get people showing up and saying everything is just great.  So you need to take these forums with a grain of salt and use them to guide your decision making.
So I followed the heat thread, the burn-in thread and a number of others.
I'm a programmer by trade.  I use VMWare Fusion every day and I often need tons of RAM.  Flash disk is also almost required these days as I need to switch between things quite quickly.  So when the retina MBP was introduced my drool production went up about a thousand fold!   I've been working on the following models:
    A 2008 MBP pro 17" with a core2duo, 4gb RAM and a 256gb drive
    Sold that and got:
    A 2010 MBP pro, high-res 15" display core i7 with 8gb of RAM.
In some ways the 2010 MBP was a dream machine.  The 8gb of RAM made it possible for me to open 2-3 VMs under Fusion and the high-res display made up for the loss of the 2 inches of display real estate when stepping down from the 17".
The battery life on the 2010 sucked.  I NEVER got more than a couple of hours out of it.   I also noticed that even after a nice fresh clean Lion install with few programs and processes the processors worked hard.  This machine got hot and burned through battery power like a million candle spot light.  Still it was a great machine and I did millions of lines of code on that machine.
But since the introduction of the retina MBP with its 16gb of RAM and the big flash disk I've been making a mess of my desk whenever I visit Apple's web page.  I was trying to temper that with a belief that as a first gen re-work it is bound to have some issues.  So I'd go over to BestBuy and play with the machines there.  I often got strange looks from the Apple Best Buy guy and I think he sort of came not to like me because unlike most of his customers I was in the system prefs changing settings playing with terminal windows and I don't think he appreciated what I was doing.  I didn't care.  I wanted to get a feel for the machine.
So last month I made a pitch to my boss to let me do an upgrade.  He finally relented and about 2 weeks ago I placed my order.  My MBP retina arrived on Monday.  So right off the bat I need to qualify my statements here with the fact that I've only had mine about 3 days.  Certainly not long enough to find all of the problems.  But here is my impression since getting this machine.
    I opted for the 15" retina, 2.6gHz, 16gb RAM, 768 Flash Drive.
When I received the unit on Monday I loaded it up with my editors, compilers, programs from the AppStore, music, etc.   Of my 768 I'm down to about 210gb free which is plenty.  I was expecting to use more.
The first thing I must confess about this new machine is how quiet the processors are.  I installed iStat Menus which I like so I can monitor how my MBP is doing.  With my 2010 just running a single VMWare Fusion VM had the processor at about 30% and the fan running say 3500 RPM.  It was hot and noisy.  This new machine, as I type this post has two VMs open.  A Windows 7 32 bit, and a Windows 7 64 bit.  I'm also listening to iTunes, I have mail, google chrome, calendar, contacts and a number of other apps open.  As I sit here the CPU activity almost non existent.  The rMBP isn't even struggling in the least with this load.  In direct comparison my 2010 MBP would have 30-40% CPU load and the fans would be screaming away, not at full bore but really loud. But here I sit with this new machine and it is quiet, only very slightly warm and I'm doing what I "normally" do.
For this alone the upgrade was CLEARLY worth it to me.  The computing horsepower in this machine is insane.
My unit came with (heaven forbid) the LG display that everyone in the "burn-in" thread says is HORRIBLE and some of these guys have gone through 5 or 6 replacements to solve their burn in problems.  I don't doubt they've had these issues.  I don't doubt they exist.  I have none of them.  This display is freaking amazing!
Now I've heard it said that the IR (image retention, ghosting, burn-in) can take weeks to appear.  So I'm not out of the woods yet.  But at this point in time the display is simply awesome and with the background I choose I see ZERO ghosting.  I'll say it again.  This display is freaking awesome!
Now I'm not a graphic artist and I cannot and will not try to tell you if my color point is correct for the white or not.  What I can tell you is that this display looks good to me.  I can read even the smallest text easily.  The clarity is simply amazing.  I'm 55 and have certainly reached that age where my eyes work overtime.  I wear progressive glasses and I'm not having any trouble at all with the display.
The only thing I could point a finger at is that this new retina display is bounded by a black area that for my eyes is the same color as my background.  I've found myself trying to slide windows into that area and being shocked that they are disappearing (because the display physically ends there).  This is just something to get used to or I could set my background to be a little lighter.  Anyway this is a pretty damned small negative if I must say so.
Ok on heat.  As I mentioned above this machine just idles along 99% of the time so there is little heat being produced.  I'm not doing nothing either.  In my Windows 7 VMs I'm running compilers and when the are cranking on code the Windows CPU is showing 100% while the rMBP registers this as like 5%.  Not sure I understand how that is working yet but I see no speed loss in my VM and yet my rMBP is just coasting even though Windows is registering 100% CPU.
The airflow on this new computer is to take air in from the sides and dispense the hot air out a vent in front of the display.  I personally think this is a design flaw.  I think this may be causing some of the burn in/ghosting issues because the computer is venting hot air right at the display.  I personally would have vented it out the back beneath the screen but perhaps the latch as it is designed for the rMBP may make that impossible.
But as an engineer I have an idea for a way to fix the heat on the LCD panel issue.  It would not take much to make a small plastic piece that sat in that hinge area and took the outgoing air and sent it to the sides way from the panel.  I'm not gonna design this but if the heat really is the issue this simple $2 piece would probably save the panel.
    So my take is this:
For me personally and acceptance of anything is a very personal choice, the retina MBP is exactly what Apple bills it to be.  The best, more amazing laptop I've ever owned.  It is cool (temp wise), fast (amazingly fast), small, thin, light, has an amazing screen visually and I predict this computer will satisfy my needs for quite a few years to come.
I will not berate or downplay the issues some have had.  I honestly believe there have been bad retina MBPs.  Bad screens.  Heat issues.  Failures.  They happen and those people have suffered and I hope Apple will make it right for them.  But I'm one to say that my unit more than satisfies my goals and intents. Like any piece of machinery it has its small issues.  I'm sure my screen will have some IR.  I'm sure my unit will get hot but so far it doesn't work even 1/4 as hard as my older 2010 MBP.
So my point to everyone is make your own choice.  Do not let the threads you see in these forums convince you that your retina MBP will be problem ridden.  Just because other people see and are bothered by a problem you might not be and the problem may not exist on your retina MBP.
For me, this machine is simply amazing.  I can only hope my panel does not suddenly start to show massive ghosting.  I do plan to keep a close eye on that and on the heat.  But right now I'm not expecting issues.
Good luck in your purchase and also to those that have purchased and are not satisfied.

I need to add just one more thing and that is on battery life.  Last night I sat with the rMBP on my lap installing software, surfing the web, answering emails for close to 4 and 1/2 hours.  At the point I took it back to the charger it still was showing a computed battery time remaining of 3.5 hours.
Today I had two VMs open and took the machine of the charger and sat outside with my dogs for about 30 minutes.  During this time I was working in both VMs, editing and compiling code.  My battery life estimate showed a good solid 4 hours.
This is roughly 6 times greater than what I had with my 2010 MBP and it too had a SSD.  I am not sure why but this retina MBP just seems to not work as hard doing anything that caused my 2010 MBP to struggle.
While the battery life is certainly better than I expected it is clear that load can change that very rapidly. So I think I still need to visit clients with an external battery or charger in hand.  But I don't think I will be quite so scared that my laptop will simply run out of power before I can even get it plugged in.

  • Vote for the change of the name BFS scheduler

I do not know if this is the right forum to post this, so forgive me if it isn't. I like the merits of this new scheduler, but I am absolutely abhor by it's naming. It's rude, disrespectful, and simply unprofessional to have such a name for such a piece of software technology. I do not see the likes of any naming scheme in any other areas of computing. Now this is my opinion, and I guess I am just trying to see what the general opinion or consensus is out there regarding this name.
Why could not the developer called it something like, BSS (Brain Smart Scheduler), or IDS (Intelligent Desktop Scheduler), or NPS (New Paradigm Scheduler), KWS (Kolivas-Works Scheduler), or HPKS (High Performance Kolivas Scheduler), or something more respectable. I know that with this existing name, it keeps it on the lips, tongues and minds (consciously/unconsciously) of everyone. But does not what it has done already enough to bring it to the forefront. I imagine that this great piece of software and what it has done, should stand on merit alone, and not on a controversial name. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, I believe a name can to. Fact is, the name betrays him as a professional. It does not cast him in a good light. Maybe he does not care, but this is not part of some inconsequential, ten-minute game. It is in fact part of an important, cutting edge O.S called Linux. And he should care about naming it more appropriately.
It is said that if we see a wrong, then it is for us to know that we have the power to effect a change, make it right and good, and in the end make a positive difference. That is what I, and I hope others will attempt to do.
No disrespect to Con Kolivas, I would love to see this new scheduler become a core part of the kernel, just not with this ridiculous name.  A Good Name will always be Regarded, a Bad One should always be Discarded. These are just my views, what do you think. Vote Yes/No for a name change.

sand_man wrote:Take it up with Con. It has nothing to do with Arch.
As far as "unprofessional", why should Con care? He is providing a FREE alternative kernel scheduler. He can call it whatever he wants. If you don't like it, don't use it.
No doubt. And with no disrespect intented to you naphtali, this thread is not going to go very well.

  • For the Management... Improve Quality on Webcams

Dear Management of Creative......if I get questioned which soundboard should be bought... it's very easy to answer with X-Fi... cause Its normaly working without any trouble and realy improves sound compared to other Devices on the market!?But whenever I tried?this with your Webcams.... it ended up with a complete return to the market (yes, thats very easy here in Germany). Logitech seems to be the better choice (except with noise cancellation::::> it just won't work with X-Fi in a good way together)... But why are your Webcam's that bad ?- I've never met one, which realy made 30fps in a normal Lightened room (I have no Idea with what High-Beams its getting Testing by Creative)- Noise Cancellation just works fine on pretty high-end PC's?Why do I believe, that Creative realy could be the First Choice ?- that Standalone - idea (drivers are already included in that Cam)... just plug and play is realy great - noise cancellation with 2 microfons is an high - end solution?instead a?cancellation with one mic and Software... So Please put a Webcam on the market, which - does 30 fps in a dark room- laughes about 2 Mpixel- takes less hardware - needs than.... - who cares, if it will cost more money than todays webcams ? -if its the best and makes happy, than I would buy it?Thanks?Andreas Hamann(German - Computerbuilder)

Thanks! Do you happen to have a preferred data rate? Rather than testing tons of them, I'm curious what people tend to use. Obviously, if you only play the video on the Touch, you will only benefit from so high a data rate.
Personally, I don't want to have to encode things at multiple settings. I want the same file to look good on the iPod, as well as on a TV. 2000Kbps Mpeg4 seems to fit the bill for me. Gives what I consider to be good playback on the TV, and Mpeg4 seems to be a bit easier on the iPod's processor than H.264 at equivalent quality -- this comes into play with very complex scenes with lots of independent movement, especially particle effects.

  • How to stop doing LIV for the goods which are rejected during quality check

    Hi,
    My client requirement is
    1. System should not allow doing LIV for complete quantity entered during GR, but it should be as per accepted quantity after quality inspection has been done.
For. ex. Vendor sends 100 quantity of item X. GR will be done for these 100 in system under quality inspection stock type. Now during quality inspection, 80 have been accepted and 20 have been rejected. Now while doing LIV system will propose amount for 100 quantity and not for 80. My client wants system should propose for only 80 and not for 100. How to do it?
    2. Vendor performance report based on the above indicating total quantity accepted, rejected and supplied for a material for a given period.
We do not intend to use QM module.
    My suggestion for above is,
    1. Do the GR as GR blocked stock - movement type 103 for 100. Then transfer 80 to unrestricted stock under movement type 105. Return 20 to vendor under movement type 124. If done this way system will propose amount only for 80 during LIV.
    2. Create Z report to capture the above for vendor performance report.
Is there any other way by which above can be achieved? Is doing GR block stock for all the receipts correct?
    Your suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks,
    Satish

    Hi Satish,
The scenario can be mapped as per your sugestions. I don't see any issues with that. The process can be defined for selective vendors.

  • What is the Best Blue Tooth headset for the i-phone 3 G? And why?

Could anyone please tell me what the best Blue Tooth headset for the I-Phone 3 G is, quality and comfort wise, I have tiny ears and don't like the headset that they give with the i-phone it hurts in my ears! If there is a headset that is super comfortable, can you please post and also tell me the pros and cons. Thanks

    just opinions now.
I drive a truck so I use a Blueparrot BT150. Crystal clear reception, and no one, and I have asked, can tell that I am on a headset. Best noise cancelling mic on the market in my opinion. BUT, it is bigger than most headsets and some people don't like that.
On the smaller side...finally found what my wife and I think is the best bang for the buck for hers. The Jabra BT 530 Blackmagic. Its small, lightweight, and from my experience talking to her, an extremely good noise cancelling mic.

  • What is the best stylus pen for the iPad Air?

Wondering which stylus pen to get for the iPad Air that's best for writing, and that you don't have to press too hard to use. Simply a stylus that works well with the "iPad Air" specifically. So far since I have been reading I haven't heard much good reviews about a stylus pen working well with the iPad Air

In my experience, the same stylii work well with the Air that worked with my iPad 3 and my iPad 2. You shouldn't have to press hard with any stylus. Stylii are a matter of personal preference. You will get as many suggestions as you get people replying to this thread.
I currently use three. An Adonit Jot Pro, a Pencil by Fifty-Three (mostly for drawing) and an Adonit Jot Script Evernote Edition. I have a collection of cheap Griffin stylii that as well. They work fine and are good to be able to lend to others.
    Best of luck.

  • Is there a dock for the iPod nano 6G?

Is there a dock for the iPod nano 6G? I haven't found one and the Apple Universal Dock doesn't work with iPod nano 6G unfortunately.
It would be okay too, if there is a loudspeaker system with a docking option for iPod nano 6G.
Unfortunately all docking options i've found, are only for the iPod touch or at best for the iPod nano 5G (like the Apple Universal Dock).
Would be great, if someone can help me : )

I am new in apple products. I got a Nano touch (6th g) 2 days ago and yesterday i got the Universal Dock.
    This one
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC746LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0OQ
Silly me i thought that a company like Apple would by no chance realease it without Dock support.
So this is how it is.
    It works for me but!
    1. The MENU button does not work
    2. I dont know what else it should do besides the following...
2.1. It skips songs back fwd
2.2. It advances fwd or rewinds
2.3. The screen of the nano touch goes to show album art instead of the song playing
2.4. No way to go back to menu
2.5. Volume up and down works
So, if you know what else it is supposed to do, thats what it doesnt. Know my Nano is not broken (yet) by overcharging or something. The plug fits and most of the functions work. So i wouldn't say it doesnt work but it partially works...
The bonnes of SJ now must be shaking...

    with the above error message.

    Hi,
I agree with Bistesh. But after Outgoing e-mail settings are configured properly, if the issue still exists,
It may result from your Anti-Virus. Please refer to the following steps:
Open MCAfee Console and go to Access Protection window.
Click Anti-Virus Standard Protection and edit “prevent mass mailing
    worms from sending emails” rule.
Now we need to know which processes are being blocked therefore we need to check the MCAfee Log located at
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\DesktopProtection\AccessProtectionLog.txt
you may find entries of DtExec , DtExecUI and DatabaseMail90, now these processes need to be entered in the exclusion list of selected rule .
Reset the IIS And SharePoint Timer service to check if this works for you.

  • User exit or BADI available for the CAPP in CA03.

    Hi,
I have a requirement to populate the standard CAPP values to the work center activities of the routing only when all the activities are having a blank value. Please see the below paragraph for better understanding.
Currently in SAP when executing CAPP for a work center of the routing it over writes the existing values populated on the routing for the setup, labor, standard labor, man occupation, machine occupation…etc whether the values are blank or not. An enhancement needs to be made to only populate operations standards when all the values are blank.
If routing is not populated with setup, machine, labor standards, man occupation, machine occupation and work center is setup for default standards in CAPP, then run the CAPP process to apply standards from work center zcappstds table. The program that is run to apply these standards currently is SAPLCETO. Potentially ca96 and the batch process that updates the material master RCPMAU01 will have to be adjusted as well.
Please help me if anybody knows the user exit/Badi for this requirement. Please reply me soon this is an urgent requirement
    thanks in advance,
    Samyuktha.

I dont have details abt exact user Exit or badi which will suit ur requirement. But below info will give you the way to find out the same.
Have a look at below link,
    http://www.erpgenie.com/sap/abap/code/abap26.htm
which gives the list of exits for a tcode
There are multiple ways of searching for BADI.
    • Finding BADI Using CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE
    • Finding BADI Using SQL Trace (TCODE-ST05).
    • Finding BADI Using Repository Information System (TCODE- SE84).
    1. Go to the Transaction, for which we want to find the BADI, take the example of Transaction VD02. Click on System->Status. Double click on the program name. Once inside the program search for ‘CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE’.
Make sure the radio button “In main program” is checked. A list of all the programs with call to the BADI’s will be listed.
The export parameter ‘EXIT_NAME’ for the method GET_INSTANCE of class CL_EXITHANDLER will have the user exit assigned to it. The changing parameter ‘INSTANCE’ will have the interface assigned to it. Double click on the method to enter the source code.Definition of Instance would give you the Interface name.
    2. Start transaction ST05 (Performance Analysis).
    Set flag field "Buffer trace"
Remark: We need to trace also the buffer calls, because BADI database tables are buffered. (Especially view V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT)
Push the button "Activate Trace". Start transaction VA02 in a new GUI session. Go back to the Performance trace session.
    Push the button "Deactivate Trace".
    Push the button "Display Trace".
The popup screen "Set Restrictions for Displaying Trace" appears.
Now, filter the trace on Objects:
    • V_EXT_IMP
    • V_EXT_ACT
Push button "Multiple selections" button behind field Objects
    Fill: V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT
All the interface class names of view V_EXT_IMP start with IF_EX_. This is the standard SAP prefix for BADI class interfaces. The BADI name is after the IF_EX_.
So the BADI name of IF_EX_CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA is CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA
    3. Go to “Maintain Transaction” (TCODE- SE93).
Enter the Transaction VD02 for which you want to find BADI.
Click on the Display push buttons.
Get the Package Name. (Package VS in this case)
    Go to TCode: SE84->Enhancements->Business Add-inns->Definition
Enter the Package Name and Execute.
Here you get a list of all the Enhancement BADI’s for the given package MB.

    Excellent reply SeanEllis Thank you.
Yes after I had the ideas, wrote a survey and created the Skype Room group, I discovered the Forum thread about Skype Ideas and had the same thought. they are already doing this. So, I guess the benefit of mine is to raise awareness of this Skype Idea Community Board.
In my Skype Room guidelines, there is a link to the Survey which has links to all the Skype Ideas Boards for all the Skype clients, (Win7,8 iOS, Mac)... well Mac didnt have one, but I linked to the Mac blog & community.
I completely agree and love the explanation of the process to elevate the most Kudo'd  (voted for/ popular) idea requests for implimentation. Very Impressive. People don't relaize that Skype/MS is listening... as you said ... to the clear focused voice of the most voted for and commented on Ideas for Skype changes.  So Pleae dont dilute the votes for the same request! I will repeat the good info  I found and link to it again....

    PS Status of Your Idea
This is what shows me that Skype/MS is listening (from the last link above, in case you want to read the whole thing):
    What do the votes/kudos mean?
Just as you can give kudos in the community boards and blogs, you can vote for ideas you like on the Idea Board. Ideas with high vote totals are more likely to be recognized and accepted by the teams at Skype who develop our products and services. You can also leave comments on ideas, but remember to be kind! (my underline)
What do the different idea statuses mean?
We strive to review submitted ideas on a biweekly/monthly cycle. Each idea will go through a life cycle that will be assigned statuses at each milestone. The statuses are explained here:
    Status of Your Idea:
New Idea - Sparkly new idea, submitted by you (my tweak - or someone else), and ready to be vetted by the community.
Comments Requested - Items set as Comments Requested will be open to the community for feedback and votes.
Under consideration- Idea has been forwarded to appropriate business team who is determining feasibility.
More information needed- More information is needed before our Product Management team can take this forward, please review the comments left by the team.
Duplicate - Ideas in this status have already been submitted in some form or another. We will link these items over to the other idea so you can review the status or track the progress there.
Already exists - This is available in the product.
Future possibility - Idea is a good one but not something we can include in a near-term product or software release.
Accepted - Idea has been accepted and has been taken forward for implementation, check back soon for updates.
Not right now - We like the idea but just not for right now, we will revisit it in the future.
Implemented - You asked for it, we did it!
