Vserver provider with arch support

Hi,
do you now a good and reliable vserver provider that supports Arch Linux?
Another solution might be a transformation from <any os> to arch linux
Most of them only support debian and suse...
thanks

I just found one that is simply awesome: http://linode.com
some advantages:
an awesome admin interface
latest archlinux image - what else?
ajax console to access the server even if ssh fails
more space/traffic/ram as on slicehost for the same price
Well just take a look on it. I love it.

    IakovM,
    See below for a few links.
    You should ask the people at Troll Touch if the have a software to create a user interface.
    Usually, the maker will provide programmers with the programming codes and a interface guide line on how to program the different gestures.
    I know that PQLabs as a SDK for their touch screens.
    With the programming codes in hand, any good Flash or HTML 5 programmer can setup a web site that will take advantage of the touch screen.
    One thing I can tell you is that with touch screens based web sites, when it comes to links or buttons to push,everything needs to be bigger than on a standard web site. People will be using their fingers to do the clicking.
    A finger is a much bigger pointer than a mouse pointer!
    So links or buttons that are too small or to close to screen edges will be hard to click.
    You can look at these for possible solutions:

  • How do I install a version of vim with Python support?

    I'm trying to install a version of vim with Python support, but for some reason I can't seem to find anything useful when I search.
    So far I've found posts that say arch doesn't have one built with Python support, and use this <broken link> AUR package. I've search AUR for "vim python" which turned up nothing. There *does* exist extra/gvim-python3, but when I install that, then vim (not gvim) still tells me "Error: Required vim compiled with +python"
    This search:
    https://duckduckgo.com/?t=lm&q=arch+lin … on+support
    Provides:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p1070281 - Only a link to a bug report
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p1144210 - Post with the 404'd AUR link
    What I finally found was this Gist with directions on using the ABS:
    https://gist.github.com/MicahElliott/3048622
    Ultimately you'll have to change the particular tar.xz files you use in the pacman -U steps, but this should get you vim with Python enabled.

    I have downloaded vim by cloning The Vim Mercurial repository.
    hg clone https://vim.googlecode.com/hg/ ~/bin/vim_bin
    Then i have a this script to install it in my own ~/bin/ dir.
    #!/bin/bash
    cd /home/myuser/bin/vim_bin/src
    echo "---Configure----"
    ./configure --prefix=/usr --localstatedir=/var/lib/vim \
    --with-features=big --with-compiledby="Custom Vim insall" \
    --enable-gpm --enable-acl --with-x=no \
    --disable-gui --enable-multibyte --enable-cscope \
    --enable-netbeans --enable-perlinterp \
    --enable-rubyinterp --enable-luainterp \
    --enable-pythoninterp --with-python-config-dir=/usr/lib/python2.7/config \
    --enable-python3interp --with-python3-config-dir=/usr/lib/python3.4/config > my_log
    echo "=== Make ==="
    make >> my_log
    echo "==== Install ===="
    make install >> my_log
    Hope it helps some one

  • HP DV6000 randomly freezing with Arch Linux

    Hello,
    Just to clarify I am working with Arch Linux as a Web Developer, therefore I do have special needs such as having 20+ tabs open with vital information in different pages.
    I can assure that after using Windows XP, Windows 7, xUbuntu, Linux Mint and Ubuntu I have never had such breaks or freezes in this machine.
    The freezes are identifiable when the mouse seems to be very slow to move, the computer very slow to respond, the cursor of the icon does not change within the context where it is, I can't even open the menu bar to access the terminal (using Terminator).
    After noticing these randomly freezes, I've started to keep the Terminator open with top command inserted. After seeing the values of percentage usage in CPU or RAM, the levels don't even go up more than 20%. However, I notice that the laptop suddenly starts heating a lot.
    The solution is just to wait with some luck about 10 minutes. If it does not go on after that, I need to turn off the computer by pressing the button or unplugging the battery (yeah, the battery is dead too).
    Some main packages I currently use are:
    - Cinnamon
    - Filezilla
    - Netbeans PHP IDE 8.0
    - Skype
    - Geany
    - 7-Zip FM
    - Adobe Flash Player
    - Chromium (my main browser)
    - Firefox
    - SSH
    - Htop
    - VLC Media Player
    - Terminator
    Any ideas of what could it be?
    Thanks!

    Could you provide the output of dmesg after the occurance?
    Yes, you are correct, I do not have any swap. Would I benefit from it? I guess I never used it.
    After the occurance you mean, after the freeze? I will try to do it, but it is rare the case when the computer is able to not freeze at all.
    Got it now:

  • Arch support for KDE vs Chakra

    Back in the days there was a thing called "KDEmod" for Arch Linux which was bringing better (?) support for KDE technologies. Then it transformed into Chakra Linux. I didn't know about that then as I was using Gnome... last years I'm using almost exclusively KDE and I don't feel like it's not supported enough. The old Wiki, where the differences between KDEmod and Arch's KDE were described, is dead. How was it better then and how would it be better now? What was the idea behind it? I don't feel like playing with Chakra as I'm good where I am but for the sake of curiosity - what's disputable about KDE support in Arch?

    The main difference between KDE and KDEmod was there with KDE3 based on Qt3. KDEmod provided split packages and a very nice looking default theme and some patches. Archlinux couldn't (or wouldn't) provide such packages because of the philosophy to leave packages / sources as upstream as possible. And KDEmod's split packages were provided before pacman supported split packages, so it was kinda hacky.
    When KDE4 was released, KDEmod was still there, but the differences were VERY small. And now that pacman supports split packages and KDE is provided by the Arch devs as split packages, there's no real need for something like KDEmod anymore.
    Yes I've already been using Archlinux back then although I wasn't subscribed to neither this nor the german forum.

  • Vanilla kernel with suspend2 support

    Hey people,
    I have started using the beyond kernel a while ago, because I wanted a precompiled arch kernel with suspend2 support. I used self-compiled vanilla+suspend2 kernels for a while before that, and they were very stable. With beyond, I first got strange bugs, hard to reproduce, suspending or resuming sometimes failed, and the newest version doesn't work at all.
    Just for some testing, I compiled a kernel with the same config and patches as kernel26 AND suspend2 patches included. It seems to work great, much stabler than beyond when suspending.
    What I am asking is, how many people would be interested if such a kernel would be maintained in community and what kernel modules they would need (I am planning to do rt2500, rt2x00, nvidia and maybe ATI, more if requested).
    Please only submit your vote to the poll if you are either a suspend2 user or interested in using suspend2

    Can you give me your definition of "at the moment" please? Or better, name a beyond release where suspend2 was stable. I switched to beyond with 2.6.16 and since then it was always unusable for me. With a vanilla kernel, suspend2 hasn't failed for me in a year or so. With beyond, it failed every time I really needed it.
    Admittedly suspend2 may be _generally_ unstable with other patchsets but even still, it'll only take one bulletproof release to invalidate all you are suggesting.
    I won't spend the rest of my life waiting for the beyond release that will work. I'd rather do something about it and provide a kernel that is stable and has that very important feature. (And as tpowa wasn't willing to include suspend2 in kernel26 when I asked him, this is the best shot).
    Awesome -  I dont think I could have said it in better words - however I did try above >
    I have tried many patchsets that had suspend2=swap patches but the never worked or not as well as a vanilla kernel with just suspend2-swap patch.
    Lets do it.

  • Issues with Arch, xorg and Asus eee 4G 701

    Hello, this is my first post here
    I installed Arch 2009.02 on my Asus eee 701(4G), the installation went well and the system was up and running within minutes. I configured the wireless card (Atheros) which arch supported out-of-the-box and updated the system with pacman -Syu. Then, I installed the intel driver for the vga of the eee and attempted to configure X.
    The issues started at this point. "Xorg -configure" appeared to work, but when I did "X -config /root/xorg.conf.new" all I could see was the mouse cursor as an X and nothing more. The touchpad didn't respond and nothing worked.
    Then, I tried using "xorgcfg" but even though the screen worked great (I could see the stuff displayed), the system couldn't receive any input from the touchpad and thus the result was just a little bit better than with "Xorg -configure". I tried to reboot and use a USB mouse to see if the cursor responded but to no avail...
    As a last resort, I decided to use the xorg.conf found on the eee page of the archwiki. I downloaded it in my PC, saved it and used wget to move it from my ftp server to the eee. I moved it to /etc/X11/ as xorg.conf and attempted to run "X -config /etc/X11/xorg.conf" to see if it worked. Unfortunately, no result. xorg attempted to start and then quit with the error "Fatal server error:  no screens found".
    That's pretty much it... I have no idea what to do next or why the xorg.conf found in the Arch wiki doesn't work... Any suggestions would be really appreciated...

    I did what you suggested above, but it still fails. Then I studied the log and I found this:
    Parse error on line 10 of section files in file /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    "RgbPath" is not a valid keyboard in this section
    Any suggestions on how to solve this?
    EDIT: OK, the discussion page on the Archwiki helped. All I had to do was remove the  'RgbPath "/usr/share/X11/rgb"' line and xorg worked flawlessly

  • Disapointed with itunes support hope someone has a answer

    I should first say that the purpose in this post is not to slam itunes support but to find someone with a helpful answer.
    About two weeks ago my computer started telling me that 100 of my songs could not sync because they were not authorized with this computer. I click to authorize, it tells me this computer is authorized. I went to the Apple support page and discussion boards and I have tried every option. When nothing worked I sent a message to itunes support stating everything above.
    Below is the frustrating correspondence I'm now having with itunes support.
    ME:I can't authorize my system to play purchases my system keeps requesting that I authorize, then tells me I am authorized. I have done all the trouble shooting options found on the apple support page and spoken to a iphone support person and they said the problem is with itunes. Please help.
    ITUNES:Dear N
    Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Customer Support. My name is Pradeep. I am glad to assist you for the day.

    ME:As I said in my original email, I have tried all of this, it is still not working.
    (in the email below he was wrong I don't have two accounts, my husband and I have two diffrent accounts and home sharing)
    Itunes:Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Support. I am Pradeep again. I glad to assist you for the day.
    N, please accept my sincere apologies for all the frustration caused you.
    I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble authorizing your computers to play your purchases.
    I did a little investigating and found that you have multiple iTunes accounts:
    Please note that it is not possible to merge two or more accounts, and your computers need to be authorized for all of your accounts or some of your purchases may not play.
    To authorize your computers, follow these steps on each computer for each account:
    1) Make sure you have installed the latest version of iTunes. You can download the latest version free of charge:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
    2) Open iTunes.
    3) From the Store pull-down menu at the top, choose Authorize Computer.
    4) Enter one of your account names and the password for the account.
    Note: You must select the AOL button for your AOL accounts and the Apple button for your Apple ID accounts in order for authorization to be successful.
    5) Click Authorize. A dialog will tell you if the authorization was successful or unsuccessful and how many computers you have authorized for that account.
    Repeat steps 3 to 5 for each account listed above.
    If you forgot the password to one of your Apple ID accounts, you can recover it using the Apple password-recovery website:
    http://iforgot.apple.com
    If you can't remember your AOL password, call AOL at 1-800-827-6364 or click the link below to be taken to the area of AOL's website where you can reset the password yourself:
    https://account.login.aol.com/opr/_cqr/opr/opr.psp
    To figure out which account you used to purchase a particular item, follow these steps:
    1) Control-click (or right-click) the item in your iTunes Library.
    2) Choose Get Info from the menu that appears.
    3) Click the Summary tab.
    Note the account name that appears in the list. The account name that appears is what it was when you purchased the item. Even if you have changed your account name since then, the item's Summary will continue to display the original account name.
    You can also review your entire purchase histories. This article shows you how:

    Thank you for understanding. I really appreciate your patience N. You are a valued member of the Apple family. Your experience with the iTunes Store is of utmost importance to us. Thank you for being an iTunes Store customer.
    Have a nice day !!!
    well again he sent me to the website I already told him I have been to, and I also said the whole problem is that the prompt tells me to authorize when it is authorized, WHY did he think he needed to tell me how to authorize my computer?
    ME: Once again, the computer IS authorized! The music that will not play is a random 100 songs out of over 1000 that had been purchased on MY account. You have not provided me any information that I have not already read and tried from the apple support web page.
    Once again if you had read the first email you would know this. I must now request a supervisor to contact me preferably by phone at xxx-xxx-xxxx. If it must be by email please be sure that my problem is thoroughly investigated before contacting me, as I am tired of repeating myself.
    Well; once again he tells me to try options that I have done, and stated in my first email.

    At the point when he even says this is out of his league but he's not sending it to someone who can help, I think I may loose it. This is my last responce, yes it was a bit angry but not nearly as angry as I wanted to be. I have yet to hear back.
    ME:How many times do I have to tell you? I Have Done That!!! I Have Spoken with apple support, the problem is something iTunes must fix! Why am I forced to continue to tell you the same thing over and over again?
    It is painfully clear you lack the ability to help me. Please send this to someone who can.
    This is so frustrating. And message boards all over show the same problem. 100 random purchases that will not play, and the trouble shooting options not working. I dont know what to do.
    Oh and I have tried removing the 100 songs it just picks a new 100 songs not to sync.

    That's a shame. http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1389 should cover most of the issues. The 100 random songs bit is simply that iTunes only bothers to list the first 100 problem songs. At that point, as far as iTunes is concerned, none of your songs are authorised. Again, I realise you've probably tried this already, but is your user account an admin account, or have you tried switching to an admin account to authorise the computer? Do the songs play in iTunes only then not to sync or will they not play either? It may be worth looking at the permissions on the C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer folder and making sure that Everyone & SYSTEM both have full access, then replacing the permissions on child objects, before attempting the SC.Info removal tip again.
    I'm just shooting in the dark here however. If I recall the one time I had the problem personally the fix was to deathorise the PC, attempt to play a DRM'd track (i.e. don't use Store > Authorise computer first), authorise, job done. Hopefully there are others on these boards with more experience resolving this type of issue who can wade in with suggestions. I guess if it were me I'd also check I can at least get a different machine properly authorised to my account, i.e. put a DRM'd track on a USB stick and make sure I can play it on another machine. If you're at the 5 computer limit deauthorise all may also be worth a shot.

  • How to setup grub2 with arch linux and xen, lvm on luks

    OK, so I tried downloading this package from AUR:  https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xen-git/ , but that has patching problems as noted in the comments.  It looks like the packagebuild sets up all the xen stuff for you, but I can't seem to get the package to install because of the error's while patching.  If anyone can point me in the right direction on what all the extra files in the PKGBUILD are for or how to debug problems with PKGBUILDs not working because of patches.
    So next I just tried to compile the latest xen from git://xenbits.xen.org/xen.git (with ./configure, make, make install) and that seemed to go fine, but I'm a bit confused:
    1.  Do I have to do any additional configuration for xen when working with arch linux?  On ubuntu I could just compile the source, update grub, and make sure to start the x services at runtime.
    2.  How do I set up grub to load xen with this setup?  Right now this is my /boot/grub/grub.cfg:
    GRUB_DEFAULT=0
    GRUB_TIMEOUT=5
    GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR="Arch"
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet"
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="cryptdevice=/dev/sda3:vgStorage"

    I've tried throwing in a line like: XEN_HYPERVISOR_CMDLINE="cryptdevice=/dev/sda3:vgStorage", but nothing new shows up on the grub boot menu.
    First time trying to set up a non-ubuntu system, please help!

    As for XEN.... well you could always try QEMU/KVM or LXC.
    As for the LVM2-on-LUKS/dm-crypt
    My /etc/mkinitcpio.conf looks like this...
    MODULES="aesni_intel ata_generic ata_piix nls_cp437 ext4 intel_agp i915 dm-snapshot"

    Alphabetical UUIS is the BOOT partition
    hd1,msdos2 AND ahci1,msdos2 are how the Grub Bootloader numbers the drives not Linux.
    I have my BOOT partition on a USB stick, and it is the Second partition.
    So, that would make it, Device 2 and Partition 2
    Device numbering starts at 0

    Oh, and note that you don't need ":allow-discards" ... at all but certainly if you don't have an SSD. Also note that I included the line numbers so it is very clear that I didn't post the whole thing, but instead what I thought was relevant. Finally, I am loading modules that I don't even need, but what the hell... if it ain't broke, don't fix it

  • Trying this again as I'm getting no where with Adobe Support!!!

    This should have been really simple. I have submitted this questions three times now as well as two separate support tickets, plus a call to Adobe support direct and basically no help at all!!!
    I need to rename our premier partner site post a merger which resulted in a company name change. I have updated the Adobe ID with mixed results (some parts of the service reference the old name (e.g., Kuler) and certain support services now say that the email address is not associated with that service (really helpful when you need to actually get support).
    I contacted Adobe support by phone only to be told that I needed to raise a ticket - not a problem more than happy to follow proper process! So I did that then I got a response which did not address the issue at all and basically said that if it was "TOTALLY NECESSARY" (well it's a business people we only bother with the "totally necesary" and you would think that trading under a different name with the partner site - which is meant to be used for marketing purposes (isn't that what you pay your $2000 for ??? - would be kinda necessary!!!! I mean really?).
    Ok so moving, on I was informed that the case would be escalated to Level 2 technical support. Then I heared absolutely nothing for five days except an auto generated email saying the case was about to be closed as the period to provide more information had lapsed. Well I had added more information to the email several times so clearly the case was never escalated and the support staff have just put it in the to delete pile (confirmed by the fact that the case no longer appears in the active case list or the closed case list - I have the emails and the case number - so what happened to the original case??? .
    So What happened Adobe / Business Catalyst - your support used to be world class. Now you're right up there with Lenovo after sales service (non existant)!
    So being the persistent chap I am (plus this must be resolved otherwise the new CEO is going to go balistic) I will provide the information again in the hope that someone from support will do the right thing and address my technical problems (not to mention the serious issues with Adobe support services):
    Old site URL: veridicalconsulting.businesscatalyst.com
    Old user email: (this is the origina ladmin user id that was used to request the move): [email protected]
    The new Partner Name: (this is the new Partner Portal name we want our partner site moved to): DMS.Group or DMS Group or DMS-Group depending on any naming convention restrictions.
    The new Partner URL: (the Partner's website address should be changed to): dms-group.businesscatalyst.com
    The new Partner user email: [email protected] (since changing this email does not access the support website - error 4)
    Permission to rename domain: Yes I formally request to have my partner site renamed per the details above
    Previous Ticket number (which seems to have been ignored) 81737 and 82912 as I keep getting 5 day lapse notices even though I was informed that it would be escalated to level 2 technical support.
    Could someone please do something about this as it's getting serious and we don't want the CEO getting involved (former barrister) and I don;t need the headache over what should be a relatively simple...ok this is what we are going to do....

    Hi Peter
    Renaming for the websites in your partner portal are fine. You just need to consider repathing as you've mentioned. You can do a find and replace to sort that..
    Remnaing for the Partner address I believe is a little more involved. It probably invoved Adobe Engineering. I think only Adobe could tell you how it affects the setup.  I believe you can't just rename the partner portal slug. Other things rely on it.
    But I can suggest that this isn't really in the scope of what Adobe are obligated to support. A partner program is purchased, they don't claim that it's customisable. But since you're a partner, Im sure if you're nice about it, log a ticket and ask Support to escatlate it to ACCOUNTS, then Accounts will be able to help. If you just ask support they will give you a dumb response and close the ticket. So ask to have it escalated.
    It'll mean that they may need to get engineering involved. Which takes the engineers away from developing BC.
    But I wouldn't allude to Barristers. It'll get you nowhere and this is your bag, not adobes.

    many times apple support employees tell us "I do understand how important it must be for you to know the details, but I do apologize as I won't be able to provide any more details regarding your concern."
    is it giving the date and time of redeeming so hard? Why he/she can't give me more details regarding my concern BUT others can do ??

  • Problems using NSS library as PKCS#11 provider with JAVA 6

    Hi,
    Im trying to configure JAVA 6 on Solaris 10 SPARC to use Mozilla NSS library as PKCS#11 provider (to achieve FIPS-140 certification for my application). Im following the guidelines from http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/security/p11guide.html#NSS but unfortunately something doesnt work for me as expected...
    Let me describe the exact steps that I followed (because devil may be in the small details :-)
    I downloaded NSS 3.11.4 and NSPR 4.6.4 binaries from mozilla.org (32 bit debug versions for Solaris 9, because these were the only binary versions for SPARC available on Mozilla site and as far as I understand these are the exact versions that passed FIPS-140 certification), unpacked them under the /opt directory and copied both of them into a single /opt/nss tree as follows:
    mkdir /opt/nss
    cp r /opt/nss-3.11.4/* /opt/nss
    cp r /opt/nspr-4.6.4/* /opt/nss
    I created a PKCS#11 configuration file /opt/nss/pkcs11.cfg as per JAVA 6 security guide:
    name = NSScrypto
    nssLibraryDirectory = /opt/nss/lib
    nssDbMode = noDb
    attributes = compatibility
    (I know that this configuration is not for FIPS mode but I thought that Id better start with a simple NSS configuration)
    Then I modified /usr/jdk/jdk1.6.0_03/jre/lib/security/java.security file and replaced 1st provider with:
    security.provider.1=sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11 /opt/nss/pkcs11.cfg
    Now everything should be in place so I created a small JAVA program and ran it:
    import javax.crypto.SecretKeyFactory;
    import javax.crypto.spec.DESedeKeySpec;
    import javax.crypto.SecretKey;
    import javax.crypto.Cipher;
    import java.security.*;
    public class Test
    public static void main(String[] args)
    try
    SecretKeyFactory keyFactory = SecretKeyFactory.getInstance("DESede");
    DESedeKeySpec keySpec = null;
    keySpec = new DESedeKeySpec(new String("laKuf1Tcc6sOhsdPf49=m4es").getBytes());
    System.out.println("keyFactory provider: " + keyFactory.getProvider().getName());
    SecretKey key = keyFactory.generateSecret(keySpec);
    Cipher decryptCipher = Cipher.getInstance("DESede");
    decryptCipher.init(Cipher.DECRYPT_MODE, key);
    System.out.println("decryptCipher provider: " + decryptCipher.getProvider().getName());
    catch (Exception ex)
    ex.printStackTrace();
    Unfortunately it produced the following output:
    EMS-Server42# java test
    keyFactory provider: SunPKCS11-NSScrypto
    decryptCipher provider: SunJCE
    And when I comment out SunJCE provider in java.security file I get the following exception:
    java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Cannot find any provider supporting DESede
    at javax.crypto.Cipher.getInstance(DashoA13*..)
    at test.main(test.java:38)
    So it looks like something is wrong with my NSS configuration. Because AFAIK DESede (3DES) is supported by the NSS library, but for some reason JAVA doesnt see this algorithm implemented in NSS PKCS#11 provider.
    Any suggestions on what am I doing wrong?
    Best regards,
    Alex

    Works for me:
    import java.security.Provider;
    import java.security.SecureRandom;
    import java.security.Security;
    import javax.crypto.Cipher;
    import javax.crypto.SecretKey;
    import javax.crypto.SecretKeyFactory;
    import javax.crypto.spec.DESedeKeySpec;
    import javax.crypto.spec.IvParameterSpec;
    public class Test
      public static void main(String[] args)
        try
          String configFileName = "/nss/nss.cfg";
          Provider nss = new sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11(configFileName);
          Security.addProvider(nss);
          SecretKeyFactory keyFactory = SecretKeyFactory.getInstance("DESede", nss);
          DESedeKeySpec keySpec = new DESedeKeySpec(new String("laKuf1Tcc6sOhsdPf49=m4es").getBytes("UTF-8"));
          System.out.println("keyFactory provider: " + keyFactory.getProvider().getName());
          SecretKey key = keyFactory.generateSecret(keySpec);
          //iv for CBC mode - note, in practice you don't generate a random iv for decryption :)
          byte[] iv = new byte[8];  //64-bit block size for 3DES
          SecureRandom sr = SecureRandom.getInstance("PKCS11", nss);
          sr.nextBytes(iv);
          IvParameterSpec params = new IvParameterSpec(iv);
          Cipher decryptCipher = Cipher.getInstance("DESede/CBC/NoPadding", nss);
          decryptCipher.init(Cipher.DECRYPT_MODE, key, params);
          System.out.println("decryptCipher provider: " + decryptCipher.getProvider().getName());
        catch (Exception ex)
          ex.printStackTrace();
    }Oh, I wouldn't expect your key loading to work when you switch over to FIPS mode.
    cfg file:
    name = NSScrypto
    nssLibraryDirectory = /nss
    nssSecmodDirectory = /nss
    nssModule = fipsYields the following error:
    java.security.spec.InvalidKeySpecException: java.security.InvalidKeyException: Could not create key
    because you can't directly handle keying material in FIPS. You'll have to save the secret key in the NSS certDB or generate a random one each time and send it wrapped to the other side.

  • Building mesa with OpenCl support [Solved]

    Hi,
    I am trying to use OpenCl with the current mesa drivers as it is explained in this post from freedesktop: GalliumCompute, but when I try to install my own build of mesa with OpenCl it fails due to some conflicting files.
    If we follow the post, we can see that we need:
    - LLVM with '--enable-experimental-targets=R600', but the stable repo already provides this so we are fine.
    - Libclc can be found in AUR: libclc-svn
    - Mesa with '--enable-opencl'. This has to be built manually with ABS adding the flag to the PKGBUILD.
    But when I try to install the generated packages I get an error because there are conflicting files:
    error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl.hpp exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl_ext.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl_gl.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl_gl_ext.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl_platform.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/opencl.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so.1 exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so.1.0.0 exists in filesystem
    Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
    Checking with 'pacman -Qo' I have found that the headers come from 'opencl-headers' and the shared objects from 'libcl'.
    So, is there a way to install mesa with OpenCl support?
    Thanks in advance.

    Lordheavy's git packages are setup to make switching between mesa-git and mesa easy, so include provides/conflicts/replaces lines in the PKGBUILDs to ease substiution.
    No need to uninstall mesa.
    Mesa is a split package, and you should replace all parts of it.
    If you run pacman -S mesa-git , there should be errors because all parts need to have been build against the same source,
    but i don't know if pacman handles that correctly.
    To be on the safe side, you should tell pacman to install ati-dri-git instead as that will pull the other necessary mesa-git subpackages.
    about the files from opencl-headers & libcl :
    mesa-git incudes opencl-mesa-git which does provide those files, but libclc-git doesn't have opencl-mesa-git as dependency.
    I think the full command you should use is : pacman -S ati-dri-git opencl-mesa-git libclc-git .
    That should pull in all needed pacakges and not give any conflicts.
    Edit :
    The PKGBUILD for LH's mesa-git are in http://pkgbuild.com/~lcarlier/mesa-git/sources/ .
    I looked directly into the sources to verify what i posted above.
