W windows for new HardWare

I need to download the X windows which support the last modern displays for Sol8 where can I find it to download it ?

I had a similar problem with a 945p neo platinum board.  Anything I plug into any PCI slot didn't detect.  I solved the problem by flashing to the latest BIOS for the board.  Now everything seems to be working fine.
Maybe that might work for you?

  • Which version of windows for new 09 white macbook?

    Hi all-
I just bought the new 09- 13" white macbook. My wife needs some really basic MS office stuff- just word and excel- for her work so we're looking at buying some version of windows or office or something. I know with Bootcamp we can use windows, but I only want/need the most stripped down version I can get away with and still have word and excel.
What should I buy? I see Windows XP for under $100. Office for mac is more expensive. Again- just really need word and excel, so any opinions?
    Thanks!
    -Danny

For my 2 cents, Office for Mac is the "pits". Most of the reviews give the program high ratings, but my rant with the program is that the "learning curve" is more than I want deal with. I bought the program and every time I open it up, I have to hunt for menu items that I can find in a flash with the Windows version. The Word program is not as bad as the Excel program (which I find almost unusable). If you're going this route, I would strongly advise checking it out before shelling out cash. The Excel program definitely ***** IF you're transferring files back and forth from Windows.
After my experience, I went with Parallels 4.0 (virtual machine) and loaded Vista Home Premium. It runs fine, but I probably should have gone with XP. I'm running my '03 Office there and it works fine.
If you're willing to take on this learning curve with Windows for Mac, that's probably one of the cheapest ways to go. I think the Home version is around $75.

  • Using the OES migrations for new hardware

I need to change my hardware, is it possible to use the migration tool to change from one hardware with OES linux to a new hardware with also OES linux just as we did from Netware to Netware ?

Thanks, that was the information I was looking for, I had migrated this hardware from Netware to Linux, now I needed to change the hardware and migrate from OES linux to OES linux

    The conditions are:
    - the destination server must be running OES2SP1 or later (OES2SP2 fully patched is very highly recommended because otherwise you may have trouble because of bugs in the migration tool)
    - the destination server must be installed with the premigration pattern as well as with all services you want to migrate
    - the "temporay" installation is done into the main tree, not into a temp tree like for NetWare migrations
    - you run the migration GUI tool from the destination server. There is no workstation involved
Apart from these main recommendations, follow the documentation of the migration tool found here:

  • Does apple provide professional Installation for new hardware?

I want to know if i can bring my Imac 21.5 mid 2014 for new hard drive installation to an apple store. Is there a service for that? I know they have a repair service, does it provide for that as well? I do have applecare coverage, I'm not sure if that counts for anything other than if my imac gets damaged.

AppleCare provides warranty service. If there is a problem because of manufacturing defect, that will be repaired.
You can contact Apple.  AppleCare: 1-800-275-2273

  • No audio on new MBP 13'' with Windows 7 - new hardware?

I have a brand new Macbook Pro 13" (Alu Unibody) where I installed Windows 7 RC using Bootcamp v2.1. This basically worked great and most of the hardware components were identified automatically by Windows (just iSight needed a manual installation from the Leopard DVD). So everything is working perfectly apart from one thing: I don't get the sound working! According to the hardware manager a "High Definition Audio Device" is installed correctly and also working fine as the meters are jumping up and down when I play music - but I just don't HEAR anything! I just see that glowing red light in the headphones plug hole...
To prevent some generic answers: yes, I tried to install manually the well-known Realtek drivers, but obviously the hardware has changed since for the latest MBP as the sound device doesn't work with that manufacturer any more (code 10, cannot start device). And there are no driver updates and no bootcamp / Apple updates available. Also the volume levels are all set to maximum, the speakers are set to be used for output. And I also tried x86 and x64 versions of Win7, it's the same for both. So I don't know what to do now... can anyone please help? Does anyone know what soundchip they use and what driver to take? Thanks in advance...

I just found the answer myself: the hardware indeed changed compared to the older Macbook Pros and now features a Cirrus Logic CS4206A High Definition Sound Chip instead of the RealTek thing. After installing the respective drivers from the bootcamp folder (Drivers/Cirrus/CirrusAudioVista64) everything works now perfectly!

  • HT4178 Updating NetRestore Images for New Hardware?

    Good Afternoon,
I've just taken over Mac Imaging from a colleague who's moved in to another department, we have 2 Mavericks images now, 1 for schools and 1 for corporate. They are easy to create (we build the users and software then capture the image with NetRestore on Mavericks Server) but everytime we get a new MacBook with updated hardware the image fails to go on the new machine (it is backward compatible with no issues).
I come from a Windows backgroud where we use SysPrep to make sure all images are hardware independent - there doesn't seem to be a tool which will do this for Mac, not easily anyway.
My colleague used to create 2 new images completely from scratch every time hardware changed, this to me seems like a waste of time, I would if possible like to see if we could just update the images (via a combo update or something?), run software updates and then recapture it, saving literally a days work every time a new piece of hardware comes out.
Has anyone done this effectively? I know their are 3rd party tools availible that may be able to help but if possible I would like to do it whilst still using NetRestore (our deployment team are familiar with this method).
    Kind Regards,
    Jon Roberts

Yes, your process as described seems appropriate. Have you tried this on an example? Have you run into any issues?

  • Runtime.exec() - how to open new window for new program?

    Hi,
I have searched through the forums but haven't found an answer to this one yet. I am using runtime.exec() to start up a new java program. At first I thought it wasn't running properly but, after checking task manager, I have discovered that the new program I open runs, it is just completely invisible to me. I am wondering how I can get the new program to run in a command window or something where I can monitor it.
    Thank you for your help,
    Drew

Thank you all. After trying to figure out why the start command wouldn't work in the runtime.exec() call(not an executable - I am a dolt), I tried putting it in a batch file and it worked perfectly. Thanks for your help,
    Drew

  • Error report on windows for new itunes download

i keep getting error reports when i try to run itunes, but i have uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing has changed...any ideas??

    Hello donada6240,
That definitely sounds frustrating. We have two potential fixes:
    A) The issue may be isolated to your Wi-Fi network. Simply trying again on a different network will give us more insight into where the problem lies.
    B) If the issue does not occur on your computer with iTunes, you may be able to download the purchases there, then sync to your iPad.
I highly recommend trying a different good-known network. And if it is indeed isolated to your network, see the following articles:

  • Disable "Found New Hardware" and Stop it automatically installing.

    Hello All.
Ok the Issue I have is below and can't seem to find the correct answer I need.
    I have two dell WYSE
boxes running Windows XP. I have one with an SSD to do all my configurations on and one is a 4GB flash box for steaming on to using WYSE WSM.
I have created a locked down version of XP with all sorts of registry hacks and Group policy to stop the end user accessing
system files and control panel etc..
I have it the way I want it but when I stream to the Flash Box, it picks up it has a 4GB SATA drive in it and installs it
and creates itself a drive letter E:\ and puts an icon in My Computer. This going
completely against what I wanted, I don't want the end user to have local drives. ONLY pendrives.
    What I have done:
I have used group policy to restrict the view and access of A: B: C: & D: drives so it still allows me to use pen drives.
I have disabled some services to stop searing for new hardware on start up which hasnt worked.
There has been posts of going into device manager and disabling the hardware in there, but I cant do that on the FLASH box
as its already streaming and its locked down so cant the configs have to be made on the SSD box which doesn't have the 4GB flash drive in.
    Any ideas?
I hope there is enough information on here for an answer.
Lets pull our brain power together and get an answer.
As per other posts and infinite Google searches, I know that many other people has a similar issue.

  • Keynote for News Type Presentation

I would like to ask a question regarding a project I am undertaking...the project is to build a presentation that mimics the many "News TV stations" that are out there on television today...you know the ones I'm talking about, where there is a main video window for news and stories, and then there is a ticker tape running across the bottom with news headlines, sports scores, stock market info, etc....there could also be other sections on the side displaying weather information and traffic information...my question is, what is the best way to go about building this type of presentation...is Keynote the way to go? If so, does anyone know of any templates that could help me achieve my goals?
    Thanks

If all you want is to feed information from websites, you could do multiple web views per page (Insert > Web View).
If you are picky about exactly how content fits into those web view windows, you could build some web pages yourself with iFrames loading the original sites and located appropriately (the way you want) and then link from Keynote to those pages you build.
Lot of work, but if you want multiple windows per slide, it may be worth it.

  • Selectively disable autoopen of nautilus windows when new media inser

Is it possible to selectively disable auto open of nautilus windows for new media inserted?
For example, I want GNOME/Nautilus not to open nautilus browse window for specific block devices, like a couple of my external USB drives, maybe some USB memory sticks too.
AFAIK it can only be disabled completely but can it be done only for some select devices?
If no, can you think of any other methods to achieve the same behavior while retaining auto-mount capability?

You didn't say what you chose to use in the wiki page link.
That page contains many references to different tools and methods for automounting.
If you used the '/bin/su $USERNAME -c $COMMAND' in a ACTION, RUN entry of a udev rule, the command should be run with root privileges, so should not require a password.
But I suggest that you look to the 'Automounting UDisks Wrappers' rather than writing udev rules.
But it's your choice to use what you decide to, if it gives you what you expect.

  • My ipod touch 2nd generation is stuck at recovery mode when I tried to update from a 3 software to a 4 software. I tried puting it in DFU mode to fix it but a window pops up about  the computer found new hardware and needs a cdrom. What do I do?

My Ipod is stuck at restore mode, when I downloaded fixrecovery and zlib1, they gave me a file which I can't open iBSS.n72ap. Fixrecovery wanted me to put it in DFU mode and I did but a window from my computer pops up telling me that it found new hardware and wants a CDrom to install. The ipod did not come with a CDrom software. It wont go back, and iTunes does not recongnize it. What should I do?

    Try here.

  • Suspend MDT, Sysprep for disk cloning, and resume with new hardware failure.

I am able to successfully Sysprep for disk cloning after pausing the Deployment (via LTISuspend). The problem is when I attempt to resume the Deployment after duplicating the hard drive and placing in new hardware it fails immediately stating that it cannot
open the TSENV.DAT (80090005). It works fine if you resume in the identical hardware it was built in.
The hardware is identical for all computers receiving the cloned drive with the Mac Address, Serial Number, and UUID being different.
Knowing that the TSENV.DAT is encrypted, is there a way to prep it for minor hardware (mac address, uuid, and serial number only) change prior to pausing and sysprep so it does not fail?
Using MDT 2012 and Windows 7 OS.
    Thanks

Let me add to what Mr. Owen described.
We have a complex MDT.  It has been used for years for a globally scaled corporate desktop.
What we are looking to do to is sysprep this machine 3/4 of the way through the process, clone the drive, and then use the cloned drive on like hardware models (we used PersistDrivers in the Unattend).
I initially ran sysprep outside of the MDT.  It ran successfully, however when we moved the syspreped (and cloned) drive to another hardware of identical type we got the error Mr Owen mentioned.  What we hoped would happen if we called Sysprep from
the MDT directly is the TSENV would be cleaned/updated to remove any workstations specific identifiers and thus eliminate the error.
