Wacom Tablet help

Earlier I was using a wacom tablet in adobe cs3 just fine, now I get no tip sensitivity. As in, the pen will always draw a think line no matter how light I use the pen. Any help would be great

Does the test window in the control panel respond to different pressures?
You might have pressure sensitivity disabled for the particular tool in
Photoshop. This is controlled via the drop downs along the right edge of
the tool palette.
Try resetting your prefs - hold down ctrl-alt-shift while Photoshop starts.
Next thing I would suggest is to uninstall the tablet, and re-install the
latest drivers from www.Wacom.com .

  • CS6 Photoshop Wacom Tablet Help!

Obviously heading an IT department, I know I am not a graphics designer nor would I ever claim to know enough to be even dangerous.
We are finalizing a monster PC build with all the bessl and whistles for our Marketing Director who lives by Adobe Creative Suite. We have installed CS6.
My question is in regards to Wacom tablets ( which he has never used previousloy)
There is a BIG diffrence in price, and being a beginer tablet user (and me being WAY over budget.. As in I have more in his PC than I have in some servers..) What do I need to be aiming at? A bamboo or a new Intuos?
If I go bamboo I can get the largest, if I go Intuos I can go the smallest...
What is the diffence between the two different Wacom tablet series anywho?
PS.. I wanted to add that I am posting it here because as some of you can imagine, corp. doesn't get everything you graphic gurus want.. This designer at our office is a really neat person and has always wanted a tablet.. I want to surprise him with one that I can afford from my budget and really need some direction.. I went back to the store after my first post and looked again and am beyond confused at the differnces between the largest bamboo and smallest intuos5 besides the size difference..
    Help!!
SIncerely, an IT Server guy who humbly admits he knows nothing about graphic design...

Google turns up some interesting comparisons...
    E.g., http://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/2482/difference-between-bamboo-pen-touch- and-intuos4
Interestingly, a lot of answers imply "Bamboo for personal, Intuos for professional".
Not having used a tablet myself, but interested, some time ago I looked around pretty seriously and asked questions here.  I ended up deciding at the time that I wanted an Intuos 4.  Never did get one (my budget was eaten up by other things).  I see Wacom has come out with an Intuos 5 now.

  • I just downloaded my wacom tablet onto my mac, but I cannot open the drawing apps that come with it. When i search the appstore for one, i cannot find any. Help?

I really have no clue on how to proceed furthur than this, could someone please help?

I'm not clear what you mean by "downloaded my wacom tablet"? Do you have a Wacom tablet? Software for it would be on the Wacom website, not in the Mac App Store (although I know that there are  apps in the MAS that could use the tablet).
Visit Wacom if you're looking for drivers for your tablet -> http://www.wacom.com/en/us?gclid=CPj_sPKasrwCFelZ7AodnA0A7w.

  • Photoshop CC work area troubleshooting on wacom tablet

Hi I have a very odd problem going on with photoshop cc while using my wacom tablet. For the most part it runs fine with no real problems whatsoever. I can work on photoshop normally until I move my cursor away from the wacom screen, back to my MacBook, and click out of the program. Once I do this the work area in photoshop disappears. specifically meaning the window where my current file is being made goes blank. everything around the work area appears the same, like the tools, tabs, etc.  My only solution to this problem is to turn off and on the wacom tablet. It works fine after that until I click out of the program again. Its getting pretty annoying to deal with now so any help would be super appreciated. I will post pics to give you guys an example when I get the chance. Posting from my phone right now.
    here are my specs:
    Macbook Pro  15-inch
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB
    OSX 10.9.2 (13C64)
    Cintiq 13 HD

Is it just slow drawing, or is actual computation (image size, rotate, GBlur, etc.) also slow?
If the slowdown is drawing, then the most likely culprit would be the video card driver. Update your driver from the GPU maker's website.
If the computation slows down, then something is interfering with Photoshop. We've seen some third party plugins, and some antivirus software cause slowdowns over time.

  • Using the Wacom tablet on CS6

I am on the creative cloud and have down loaded and successfully installed PS6.  I am a professional illustrator and use the Wacom tablet.  My concern is with the pen pressure effect not staying on.  I have went to help option on PS6 and checked for updates and down loaded them with no results and called support as well please help. I went to the Wacom sit as well to check to if my drivers are updated and they are, and called their support as well with no results.  I understand that PS6 is a new product and that I may have to wait for patches, that is fine.  If there are any other options please advise.

Actually I am having similar issues with Photoshop CS6 extended and the Wacom Intuos2 tablet, that is, there's a variable that CS6 will not work...in my case, it's tilt and rotation.  I can get pressure sensitivity to work, but Photoshop CS6 doesn't respond to tilt or rotation.  (This is frustrating as I have a painting project coming up in a Photoshop class and I can't get the brush to work right...).  Pressure response is fine for me, but the computer will not register the tilt of the pen.  When I try it in a different program on my computer (Corel Painter 12), the mouse icon and pen strokes all show that the program is receiving and processing pen tilt, rotation, orientation (pen tip vs. eraser) and pressure.  When I try my tablet on Photoshop CS5 on the Mac in my classroom, Photoshop CS5 also responds to pen tilt, rotation, orientation, and pressure.
I have thus far completely deleted the Wacom drivers and reinstalled them with the latest driver version.  This has had no effect.  From all I can tell, the tablet seems to be working, but CS6 extended isn't reading.  What am I missing here?

  • Wacom Tablet Mapping Bug Only in Photoshop

I am using a Graphire Wireless Wacom Tablet on a Windows 7 PC at work. I installed the most recent drivers, and it works flawlessly in a duel monitor setup, and I have no trouble mapping it however I would like.
This is all great until I launch Adobe Photoshop (CS4). Upon launch of the program there is some kind of bug, and suddenly the mapping acts as if both displays were squished into only the primary display. I can toggle between displays, and instead of toggling between display 1, 2, and both, it toggles between the left and right half of the screen and the whole screen. The other monitor is still functioning normally, only the mapping of the tablet is effected, and as soon as I close Photoshop, it reverts back to normal.
I did find one posting with the same problem, but it was resolved my installing the updated drivers, which I already have, and the discussion was closed. Any help I can get would be great.

Wacom has per-appliation settings, and somewhere you've changed the tablet mapping for Photoshop.
Photoshop does not know about the tablet mapping, only the Wacom driver knows about and controls the tablet mapping.
Check the Wacom control panel/preferences.  If you can't figure it out, contact Wacom technical support.

When i installed my new intuos pro wacom tablet this afternoon my photoshop stopped responding, I can not not open it, whenever I try it says that it is not reponding.

  • Wacom tablet and photoshop

I have just got a new Macbook Pro Yosemite. I have Adobe CS6 and everytime I use my Wacom tablet it acts buggy. For instance: Using the eraser tool, if I want to make the eraser larger I hit "]" as a shortcut. This doesn't work unless I click on a mouse first on the background before using the Pen again. This happens for other tools and shortcuts. The Polygonal Lasso tool also only works if there is a very long lag between points using the Wacom Pen.
Is anyone else having this issue? I've tried reinstalling the Wacom drivers and updating the software but it has yet to be effective.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers

That is a definite yes. It is way more accurate than the mouse is and it provides pressure values that will be important for any brush work. Even Illustrator makes use of them.
There will be a lot of clipping images for the web page so it makes sense to have a precise instrument to do the job.
One last thing, it will help prevent carpal tunnel in your wrist. If you already have it it will provide some relief. If nothing more than a way to alter how you hold your hand for a while.
It will take some time getting use to the tablet, so keep a mouse around, especially at school. Nothing worse than getting frustrated when your under a time crunch. Play with the tablet at home get use to it, when you feel comfortable with it, then try it in school. Just be prepared to use the mouse when your under pressure. Over time that won't be an issue.

  • Wacom Tablet Issues with LR 5.6

Ever since I upgrade to LR 5.6, I'm having problems with my wacom tablet (intuos 5 wireless small).  When I use the TAT, as I move up and down the slider moves a couple of numbers and them stops.  If I use my blue tooth mouse, it works just fine.  Also, if I go up to the Histogram and click and drag, nothing at all happens using the tablet, but works just fine with blue tooth mouse.  There are a lot of other issues with rendering and unstable pen action.  I have no issues with the tablet in Photoshop CC - 2014 ACR or any other programs.  It's definitely tied to LR 5.6.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.  Oh, I have uninstalled and re-installed and have the same problem.
    Dennis

I downloaded the driver at Wacom Europe GmbH - Support - Treiber  ran it without the tablet being connected, than plugged in the Intous again. Immediately a new USB-recognition/installation process started (but all customizations were preserved).
That was all. I am not a nerd, just a normal user, so nothing special to report. It just worked out fine.

  • How do I connect a Thunderbolt display to a 21UX Cintiq Wacom tablet with a single link DVD-I connector?

I just bought a brand new thunderbolt display along with a 2013 mac pro and I'd like to hook my 2 year old 21UX Cintiq Wacom tablet directly to the display using the thunderbolt port on the display itself. Currently, I have the Cintiq daisychain connected directly to the mac pro using an Apple mini display port -> DVI-D (dual link) adapter, which is then connected to a DVI-D (single link) -> DVI-I (dual link) adapter, which is then finally connected to the Cintiq's DVI-I (single link) connector (this is permanently attached to the Cintiq and can't be traded out). As you can imagine, what has resulted is a lot of color variations between the Cintiq and Thunderbolt displays (that color calibration in system preferences has not been able to remedy) as well as some flickering of both displays at random intervals. I'd like the colors of the displays to match as close as possible and for the flickering to stop, of course, and from what I understand, connecting the displays directly with as few adapters as possible is the best way to do that. Unfortunately, most of my searches have not helped very much. Here is a photo of my daisychained set-up to better assist anyone who thinks they might be able to help:
Lastly, just in case: the mini display port to DVI adapter is not compatible with the Thunderbolt display's port, which is why it is connected to the mac pro, so I imagine a solution might require searching for an adapter from a different manufacturer, if such a thing even exists. If not, what other solutions would anyone suggest to get the colors of the displays to match more closely and the flickering to stop as well as lessen the amount of adapters I am using?
    Thank you!

From you picture, you have a Mini DisplayPort to Single-Link DVI-D adapter.  (The last in DVI-D is for "Digital", not "Dual-Link".)
You don't need dual link unless the resolution is greater than 1920 x 1200.
Mini DisplayPort devices or adapters won't work plugged directly into a Thunderbolt display.  You need a Thunderbolt disk or dock (with two Thunderbolt ports) connected between the Thunderbolt display and the Mini DisplayPort adapter.

  • I got Photoshop Elements 11 when I got my Wacom tablet, but I can't find the serial number anywhere?

I got Photoshop Elements 11 when i got my wacom tablet this summer. I recently got a better computer so i want Elements 11 on it too. The problem is that I cannot find the serial number anywhere to be able to use it on my new computer. Since I got Elements through Wacom, it does not show up as a product on my Adobe profile. Does anyone know what I can do to get it back?

Also check the Wacom page. I'm sure there are instructions on how to deal with OEM licensed and bundled versions.

  • How to I get the the Wacom tablet's pen sensitivity to work on Photoshop when it works in Flash?

    Hi Everyone!
Alright so I did some looking around to see if I could use other threads to help solve my issue before I came here to ask. A lot of them seem to be related to surface pro and some of the instructions I followed was to remove USB drivers so that they can re-install themselves and simply re-installing the Wacom drivers.
I am on Windows 8 (64bit) and am using and Intuos 4 Wacom tablet and what seems to be most peculiar is that the pressure sensitivity seems to be working just fine in Flash but has never been able to work in Photoshop. I took this as a sign that this might be more of an issue with the application than the tablet itself since it is clearly registering in another application.
Sorry if this has been answered before! If so, it would be great to get a link otherwise I would greatly be indebted to those able to help me with my problem.
    Thanks so much!

    1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    2)
Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Then on the iPod go to
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

  • Wacom Tablet

    Hello all,
I have a first gen 17" Macbook Pro (Intel Core Duo), and I would love to play around more with digital art, and have flexibility with drawing, editing photographs, using Photoshop etc (for digital art and web page design). I'm looking to get a Wacom tablet and wondering if there were any other artists/designers here that used them. I need some suggestions I'd have a tight budget, but would love to hear your recommendations anyway

hey, I have the Intuos3 4x5. (it's the smallest of the pro line).
I bought the basic tablet a size bigger to my brother and tried it before. I liked the small size much better.
The size is important, and you can decide which size is right for you. If you do fine art, the bigger tablet will give you the momentum of the stroke. If you are planning on using it in other applications as well, or your strokes are controlled the smaller is better cause your hand will be moving from wrist instead of from elbow or arm. I found it really hard to work with the bigger tablet because of that. (Wacom has a quick questionnaire on their website that helps you decide which tablet is right for you).
The tablet corresponds with the screen real estate, so the bigger the tablet the more your hand will have to move from one corner to the other.
I have a hard time using it in InDesign. I don't even use it anywhere else but photoshop, but boy for that it was worth every penny. It's a bless working with it, fine art or retouching!!!
    I highly recommend it.

  • Photoshop CS4 brush lag with wacom tablet

I've upgraded to photoshop CS4 extended recently and all my brushes that worked fine under CS3 are now with a real lag.
I've installed the latest version of photoshop ( Adobe Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 update ) and the latest update for my wacom tablet, but the lag remains.
My computer is a new "24 imac:
    -  2,66 GHz intel Core 2 duo processor
    -  4 GB memory
    -  NVIDIA GeForce 9400
I use my tablet and photoshop a lot, but with this lag it's terrible to draw..
Is there someone who can help me with this or has the same problems ?
    thanks in advance

Glad I could be of service.
Speaking of services, if you are running Vista or Windows 7 (not XP) you should turn off tablet services too. They automatically start if you install a Wacom driver on these Os'es, and they can also cause hiccups and lag in Photoshop CS4.
You have to be logged in with admin privleges.
    Go to Control Panel->System and Security->Administrative Tools->Services
    Open 'Tablet PC Input Service'
Stop the service and select 'Disabled' as the startup type.
You'll know you got it because the annoying 'ripple' effect will go away when you touch the pen to the tablet, and the pop-up keyboard will go away. Of course, if you actually are running on a tablet PC then don't do this.
