Wait activity doesn't finish

I have dployed a BPEL process with a Wait activity that must wait 30 seconds. But after the 30 seconds has passed, the wait activity doesn't finish. Can anyone say me what's the problem? Thank You!!

this is the error I have in my domain.log (it's in spanish but i will try to translate):
<2006-10-20 13:03:22,718> <INFO> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <File Adapter::Inbound> Recovery still not possible after 550 attempts due to ORABPEL-11001
<2006-10-20 13:03:22,718> <INFO> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <File Adapter::Inbound> Recovery still not possible after 550 attempts due to ORABPEL-11001
The Input folder is not valid.
The specified value for the (phisycal/virtual) directory activation input parameter has a an invalid "/temp/" value.
How do I identify the process that is generating this problem? Because the process I deployed doesn't use file adapters but maybe it can be generated by one of the process called by the one I deployed and that I built previously using the "obant" comand.
Thanx!!

• Invoke Runbook Activity doesn't finish

Hello,
I have a Problem with the Invoke Runbook Activity, if I just test the Child Runbook manually it works fine but if I want to start it via the Parent Runbook it gets stucks and never finishes.
Parten Runbook:
Child Runbook:
The Child Runbook is checked in, the Parameters are correct. The Parent Runbook is not checked in because of the Runbook Tester.
If I run my Parent Runbook everything works fine and the Invoke Runbook Activity starts but then nothing happens anymore, I waited for 30min and still nothing happen (if I test the Child Runbook it only takes 2-3 Minutes). If I stop the Runbook Tester the
Child Runbook is still running.
Has somebody an Idea where the Issue could be?

Hello,
does it work if the first Runbook is also checked in?
There are differences executing a Runbook in Runbook Tester (http://www.sc-orchestrator.eu/index.php/scoblog/99-functionality-differences-executing-a-runbook-with-runbook-tester)
but I tested and can not reproduce this behavior you described above here in SP1 or R2 version.
Does it work if you check in the first (Parent Runbook)? If there is the same problem are there any hints in tab "Events"?
Maybe maximum Runbook limit is reached (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh420378.aspx) or Orchestration Runbook Service is not running ...

• Process Notification and Notification Wait activity - External Relationship

Hi,
I have a query relating to the Process Notification and Notification Wait activity.
In my Process Creation after finishing 2 interactive avtivities I need to send notification or inform the instance
waiting in a Notification Wait activity.
For this Im using ALBPM Predefined Process Notification activity to send Notification.
Im defining instance variable and mapping it as argument to Notification Wait activity.
I have set the type of event to wait for as External relationship.And defined a correlarion
at Notification Wait activity by setting initiate property as Yes and defined association with
argument mapping.And selected the same correlation from the Process Notification activity.
When im trying to execute the same always im getting the exceeption as Instance was not found for notification.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Thank You,
~Kavitha

Hi Matthias,
What you have experienced is exactly how it works, the notification is processed after the screenflow is finished.
I tested a lot some time ago and also really happy that worked well.

• System Exception in Message Wait Activity

I have process A which sends a message to process B upon its completion.
What happens when the instance is at a Message Wait Activity of process B , process A sends a message successfully to process B but process B enters into a system exception at that point of time?
What happens to this message? Is it lost or recovered?
Lets assume that the System Exception is handled and the instance returns back to the Message Wait Activity.
Then will process B will still receive the message sent by process A after resumption from the System Exception or is the message lost ?

If we're talking about notifications, not messages, and process A and B are running in the same engine, then Process A should be configured to send a notification to process B. The instance in process B can be sitting at a notification wait. Equally process B could have an instance sitting in any activity as long as the process has a notification wait in an interrupt mode. Processes with notification waits in an interrupt mode are waits that run alongside a process. The Wait is part of the process but interrupts the instance sitting anywhere in the process. After the execution the wait activity, the instance can return to the process with an Action = BACK statement. This statement is located in some automatic activity following the notification wait interrupt flow.
Process A has a notification activity located before the end of the process. If process B cannot process the notification, the engine will retry the notification again in Process A at a latter time. So messages are not lost because the notification activity in process A is not complete until it successfully sends the notification to process B and process B receives it. Process A doesn't end until this activity is successful.

• Wait activity waiting even after expiration time elapsing

Hi,
I have a table containing rows which has a specific execution time (i.e. start_time)
I have a synchronous ever-running service (i.e. Kinda Job Consumer Svc) which has to pick a row one-by-one from the table, manipulate information and execute another async svc & afterwards will wait intelligently, till the next rows start-time.
I am using a WAIT activity whose wait time is set dynamically, which is working absolutely fine however when there is a failure in the async svc this WAIT in parent flow, waits forever and doesn't respond back while log contains error.
What I am looking for is:
1) is there is any way that I can bypass the effect of failure of a async partner link, on the WAIT activity of parent flow? Any parameter?
2) is there is a way that I can notify my WAIT activity to break?
3) is this a bug or a feature (no pun intended) ?
TIA
regards
JD

Hello Joy,
May be you try with a 'Pick' activity.
It has a message and a timer, the branch which receives a response first from the child process will get executed first.
So, you can add your wait in the message part ... which work fine, as you hv said ... and do other processing.
In the timer, you can set the time to be greater than the wait time & if it is ... its an error. you can add code to handle this error ... here.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Madhu !

• Photocast doesn't finish uploading

I have a photocast that is a smart album. The first time I publish it, everything goes well. When I try to update the album, it goes through everything until the progress circle is almost finished, and then it doesn't finish.
I've looked to see if it is still uploading anything, but there is no upload activity on my computer at that point. My current solution is to unpublish and republish the photocast each time, but I'd rather find a better solution.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it because it is a smart album?
Sky

That memory should suffice indeed.
If you are lucky, the print products store can still print your original book from the copy on their server. they keep the uploaded file for reference for a month or so.
You have screened all pages of the book, if there are no photos missing? And you have reentered your billing information, not just checked it?
The system status for the print Products is shown as o.k. at http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/
Check, if you accidentally have turned on restrictions in the settings:
Settings>General>Restrictions
Check the region settings for the iPad, if the country is set to the country of the delivery address for the book.
Trouble shoot the iPad:
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider.

• Deep freeze's reboot frozen command doesn't finishes

Whenever i send a reboot frozen command from the ARD on the server, it doesn't finishes. The Reboot command is below.
osascript <<EndOfMyScript
tell application "System Events"
tell application process "loginwindow"
key code 125
delay .25
keystroke return
delay 1
keystroke "0000"
keystroke return
end tell
end tell
delay 4
EndOfMyScript
DFXPSWD="0000" /Library/Application\ Support/Faronics/Deep\ Freeze/deepfreeze -u "VantageAdmin" -p bootFrozen
reboot
This execute correctly but it seems like the ARD doesn't recognise that it is done, so it continue running untill manually cancel.
I mean it execute correctly but the command remains in the active task on ARD. What can i do to make this execute and disappear from the active task to history?

Well one option is to break it up into two tasks.
task 1, send unix commands (without the reboot at the end)
task 2, user ard reboot command
Another option would be to que up the command on the client.
send unti command as user root
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.atrun.plist
echo "reboot" | at now+1
the catch is that queing up a command, is that you don't know if the command did sucesfully triggure.
I've never tried to use at with deep freeze, so it would be a good idea to test the results before mass deploying.
the other thing is it can create 'mail'.

• Quiz slide waits for Audio to finish before proceeding to next question

Hi guys, hope you can help. I have 5 questions with audio inside narrating the question and the answer in selection. Once you you have chosend your answer then click submit button..it waits until the audio finishes then proceeds to the next question.
hope you can help
Thank you

Having this action on Slide Exit of the Quiz Results slide may not work if the user clicks a button there to Review Quiz because that will mean that the last frame of the Quiz Results slide doesn't get played.
There is an internal Captivate system variable that gets set on each question slide when it's in Review Mode, but I don't think you can read this variable via Advanced Actions. If you could read it, you could check it and then trigger the mute action on Slide Enter of each question slide.
UPDATE: Just thought of another possible workaround. There's a system variable called cpInfoPrevSlide that records the last slide you visited before the current one. You could use this in a conditional action to trigger cpCmndMute. When the user clicks Review Quiz on the Quiz Results slide it will take them back to the first scoring object in the Quiz Scope. OnSlideEnter of this slide you need to check whether or not cpInfoPrevSlide is the Quiz Results slide, and if it is, set cpCmndMute to 1. That should turn off the audio on the slides from then on.
For instruction audio on the Quiz Results slide I prefer to have the audio attached to a rollover caption. That way, the user only gets the audio if they explicitly roll over the HELP button (or whatever you call it).

When I download an app from the App Store, it jus shows "waiting" and doesn't download as it used to do earlier... Then after a day or 2 the app is downloaded... I dunno wuz d problem, can someone help me

Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

• Wait Activity

I am doing a proof of concept. I created an async. BPEL process that issues an email, then has the wait activity for 2 mins., and then is suppose to issue a second email. The second email keeps erroring with the following <faultInfo>java:comp/env/ejb/services/NotificationServiceBean not found in ActivityManagerBean. Does anyone know what would cause this? If I take the wait activity out, both emails are sent and there is no error.

Email Error When using Wait activity

• Access to variables in an until clause of a wait activity

Hi,
I want to write a wait activity waiting for a variable to be set to a specific value. My code is something like
<process name="VacationRequest" targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/Test" xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/" xmlns:bpws="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" >
<variables>
<variable name="isDataFollowedUp" type="xsd:string"/>
</variables>
<wait name="Wait_For_DataFollowedUp" until="bpws:getVariableData('isDataFollowedUp') = string('true')"/>
</process>
The process is valid but compiling it I get the folowing warning:
Warning(110):
Beispiel: "'bpws:getVariableData('isDataFollowedUp') = string('true')'".
(sorry for german output, essentially it states that the deadline expression does have the wrong format and if it icomprises a literal I should make sure it is surrounded by single quotes).
I cannot figure out what's wrong with my code (and I've already tried some quoting stuff...), so I would be grateful for any hints.
Thanks in advance,
Hans.

just first idea.
define boolean variable isValid. initiate to false.
define boolean variable isFinished. initiate to false
put while activity with expression not isFinished
place inside while pick activity. Into pick activity place two onMessage activity, one for user action1 and another for user action2. You can remove onAlarm flow.
onMessage action1 will be responsible for validating user input and seting isValid to true if input is correct.
onMessage action2 will check whether isValid is true and if yes then it will perform required operation and after that it will setup isFinished to true. Otherwise it will ignore user input.
Does it solve your scenario?

• ITunes 10.5 sync doesn't finish iPhone 4S 5.0.1

When syncing my iPhone 4S 16GB 5.0.1 with itunes 10.5 using a Macbook Pro 10.7.2 it freezes at the last step 7 of 7. I had the same problem with iOs 5.0 and the update didn't change a thing. iTunes is still accesible, but it doesn't finish the sync. All I can do is deconnect the iPhone in the Devices of iTunes, but it give a warning that it is still syncing. When I check the iPhone and iTunes, everything seems to be ok and purchases and apps are either downloaded on the iPhone or iTunes.On the iPhone there is still the little wheel turning to indicate the sync and in iTunes there is the same little wheel next to the iPhone in Devices. Any idea anybody??

I'm experiencing this problem for the first time - frustratingly, while upgrading to a "new" (hand-me-down) 32GB 4G - on OSX 10.6.8. This phone has the iOS 5.0.1 update installed, I'm trying to restore my old phone's data from backup. All the data appears to be there up to mid-October (from looking at text messages), but the sync wasn't finishing. I hit "cancel," and now the cancel isn't finishing. I'm gonna leave it overnight, but I'm not expecting it to finish.

• Access Message Wait Activity from PAPI-WS

Hi,
I am trying to access BPM Studio Message Wait activity using PAPI-WS. Am sending object as an argument but the argument values are not available in BPM.
MessageWait1 - Activity Name
In - Argument Set Name
Arguments - Contains object values.
InstanceInfo instance = session.processGetInstances(processId).get(j);
session.processSendNotification(instance.getId(), "MessageWait1", "In", arguments);
Let me know If i am missing anything.
Thanks,
Sanjay
Edited by: Sanjay_21 on Sep 14, 2009 5:32 PM

Hi Daniel,
Yes session.processGetInstances(processId) will return array and that's the reason accessing single instance using get(index).
InstanceInfo instance = session.processGetInstances(processId).get(j);
I remember, I was able to pass complex argument in ProcessCreateInstance method but unable to pass similar object in Notification method. Can't we pass complex object as did in ProcessCreateInstance.
Is it possible to provide sample on how to pass complex object
Thanks,
Sanjay

• Problem with Wait Activity in OBPM 10GR3

Hi all,
I have a set of automatic activities and then an exception path which when entered has a Wait Activity which waits for the process for a few minutes before resuming and going back to the automatic activity where the exception occured.
Now, I have changed the Number of Concurrent Executions for all my automatic activities to 20 in Advanced Properties of Automatic Activities.
Now , there is no such option to change the Number of Concurrent Executions for Wait Activities in Advanced Properties of Wait Activities.
So now, all instances keep on waiting in the Wait Activity inspite of the wait time being surpassed and do not move forward.
Why is that so?
Any idea?
Do I need to change back to Unlimited Concurrent Executions especially for all activities in the exception flow?

Well here is the problem..
I have a Wait Activity with a Wait Interval of 5 mins.
It was working fine before. It used to wait for 5 mins and then continue with the rest of the process. At that time I had not changed the Number of Concurrent Executions in the Advanced Properties of all Automatic Activities. The Number of Concurrent Executions were Unlimited.
Right Click on Any Automatic Activity---> Select Properties --> Select Advanced and you should see that option i.e. Number of Concurrent Executions .
Now I have made it Limited and given a number of 20 Concurrent Executions instead of Unlimited.
Somehow now I find that the Wait Activity waits for more than 5 mins. Sometimes even 20 to 30 mins. Not sure why?
Any idea?
Is it because I changed the Number of Concurrent Executions for Automatic Activities from Unlimited to 20? Or is there any other reason? And how to fix this problem?
