Wait for note recording...

i am a noob. i admit. this is my first night with logic and i am having a hard time finding a "wait for note" recording option. i found where to change the count in but i was needing a wait for note because i am recording something previously recorded on my fantom. any help would be appreciated.

Well it is another beautiful day here in southern California. The smoke is so thick I can't even see the mountains a few miles away. Now that wind has shifted, It's all coming our way
Anyway, You have a few options to get your beats from the Fantom into Logic. Now if you want to get the midi notes into Logic. After you get a midi chord hooked up from the out of the Fantom to the input of your midi interface, and you can see you are getting midi signal, try this
1st you could just make sure both Logic and the fantom are the exact same tempo, set Logic to record and as close to a down beat as you can press start on the Fantom. After you record the part open either the Event list or the the Piano roll editor, selects all, and just drag your first note to be right on the beat, as long as all note are selected all will line up. If you have any timing drift and some notes are not lining up to the grid you can always quantize them
2nd you can always slave logic or the fantom to MTC (midi time code) so that they lock up real tight. how to do this is described in chapter 36 of the manual. if you want to slave logic to the Fantom you have to do it in MTC because Logic 8 no longer slaves to midi beat clock. After you look over the manual and you need further help on this ask.
If you have more that one midi channel that you want to send to logic, you can send them all at the same time and have logic separate them. Switch on the File > Project Settings > Recording > “Auto demix by channel if
multitrack recording” option. Then create as many tracks in logic that you have in the Fantom and set each Logic track to match the midi channels. then record enable them all, pressing the record button on each track. Chapter 14 page 382 explains multi-track midi recording.
You can also record all midi channels at once on to one track, and then from your region menu select "split/demix> demix by event channel" and that will separate all midi channels on to tracks
Anyway, this will get you started, let me know if you need more help

  • '&' character erratic in SQL (sometimes waits for input, sometimes does not)

    Hi everyone,
I have a C program using OCI which sends insert, update and delete statements to an Oracle database. Now there was a case when I tried to insert a statement say INSERT INTO EMP(EMPNO, ENAME) VALUES(7000,'Jack & Jill'). This statement was hanging when I sent it once and then I realised that & is a special character which causes the statement to wait for an input. So we had to use escape characters probably so that the statement would not hang.
Sometime later (a day later) I deleted the record and put in the same one again and this time it worked without hanging.
Is there some reason why this can be do. The OCI code has not changed, but I do not know if the Oracle DBAs did any changes to the server to accept & as okay. The DBAs say that they are not aware of any changes made.
Does anyone know why this can happen? Or is there someway this '&' issue can be sorted out?
    Thanks
    Kind Regards

    Hi !!
I really could not figure out why it had gone thru the second time..
A way o get around it would be to modiy ur sql like :-
    insert into .... ('sini'||'&'||'somakumar');
    Has to do the work ;
    Reagrds
    Sini Somakumar

    Aby,
I have a similar problem when running scripts in SQL*PLUS. In this case I resolved problem using concat (||), like this example
    <code>
    INSERT INTO EMP(EMPNO, ENAME) VALUES(7000,'Jack '||'&'||' Jill')
    </code>

  • HSDIO conditionally fetch hardware compare sample errors (script trigger to flag whether or not to wait for software trigger)

I am moderately new to Labview and definitely new to the HSDIO platform, so my apologies if this is either impossible or silly!
I am working on a system that consists of multiple PXI-6548 modules that are synchronized using T-CLK and I am using hardware compare.  The issue I have is that I need to be able to capture ALL the failing sample error locations from the hardware compare fetch VI... By ALL I mean potentially many, many more fails than the 4094 sample error depth present on the modules.
My strategy has been to break up a large waveform into several subsets that are no larger than 4094 samples (to guarantee that I can't overflow the error FIFO) and then fetch the errors for each block.  After the fetch is complete I send a software reference trigger that is subsequently exported to a scriptTrigger that tells the hardware it is OK to proceed (I do this because my fetch routine is in a while loop and Labview says that the "repeated capbility has not yet been defined" if I try to use a software script trigger in a loop).
This works fine, but it is also conceivable that I could have 0 errors in 4094 samples.  In such a case what I would like to do is to skip the fetching of the hardware compare errors (since there aren't any) and immediately begin the generation of the next block of the waveform.  That is, skip the time where I have to wait for a software trigger.
I tried to do this by exporting the sample error event to a PFI and looping that PFI back in to generate a script trigger.  What I thought would happen was that the script trigger would get asserted (and stay asserted) if there was ever a sample error in a block, then I could clear the script trigger in my script.  However, in debug I ended up exporting this script trigger back out again and saw that it was only lasting for a few hundred nanoseconds (in a case where there was only 1 injected sample error)... The sample error event shows up as a 1-sample wide pulse.
So, my question is this:  is there a way to set a flag to indicate that at least one sample error occurred in a given block  that will persist until I clear it in my script?  What I want to do is below...
    generate wfmA subset (0, 4094)
    if scriptTrigger1
      clear scriptTrigger1
      wait until scriptTrigger0
    end
    clear scriptTrigger0
    generate wfmA subset (4094, 4094)
I want scriptTrigger1 to be asserted only if there was a sample error in any block of 4094 and it needs to stay asserted until it is cleared in the script.  scriptTrigger0 is the software trigger that will be sent only if a fetch is performed.  Again, the goal being that if there were no sample errors in a block, the waiting for scriptTrigger0 will not occur.
I am probably going about it all wrong (obviously since it doesn't work), so any help would be much appreciated!

Please disregard most of my previous post... after some more debug work today I have been able to achieve the desired effect at slower frequencies.  I did straighten out my script too:
    generate wfmA
    if scriptTrigger1
      clear scriptTrigger0
      wait until scriptTrigger0
    end if
    generate wfmA
scriptTrigger1 = sample error event flag
scriptTrigger0 = software trigger (finished fetching error backlog in SW)
However, I am still having a related issue.
I am exporting the Sample Error Event to a PFI line, looping that back in on another PFI line, and having the incoming version of the Sample Error Event generate a script trigger.  My stimulus has a single injected sample error for debug. For additional debug I am exporting the script trigger to yet another PFI; I have the sample error event PFI and the script trigger PFI hooked up to a scope.
If I run the sample clock rate less than ~133MHz everything works... I can see the sample error event pulse high for one clock period and the script trigger stays around until it is consumed by my script's if statement.
Once I go faster than that I am seeing that the script trigger catches the sample error event occasionally.  The faster I go, the less often it is caught.  If I widen out the error to be 2 samples wide then it will work every time even at 200MHz.
I have tried PFI0-3 and the PXI lines as the output terminal for the sample error event and they all have the same result (this implies the load from the scope isn't the cause).
I don't know what else to try?  I can't over sample my waveform because I need to run a true 200MHz. I don't see anything that would give me any other control over the sample error event in terms of its pulsewidth or how to export it directly to a script trigger instead of how I'm doing it.
    Any other ideas?

  • Text Entry not waiting for entry before continuing

    Captivate 4
I'm trying to add a TEB where the user will need to enter the correct text before moving to the next slide.  I would like it to continue as soon as they user types the correct entry.  The problem is that the slide doesn't pause to wait for the entry - it continues to the next slide without anything being typed or a click.  ??
I have the correct text listed in the 'Correct Entries' box and have it set to 'go to next slide' for 'On success'.  Under 'Options', I have it set to 'Validate User Input'.  I do not have any hint or caption buttons, and I am not showing a 'submit' button.
Can someone tell me how to get it to pause the training to wait for the user to enter the correct text?
    Screen shots below.
    Thanks in advance,
    D

    Hi there
    Indeed there is!
You enable the Button in the properties. This will place an associated button next to the field.
What's that you are asking? You don't want a button?
Well, nobody said you actually have to SEE the button! Just double-click the button and its properties will show. Choose Transparent Button and configure it so it's invisible. Then you configure the other "1" for the Button press!

It is a daily load , it worked fine from past years, but suddenly the AND processtype is getting failed. The thing is in the two subchains if one got completed, the AND process process is not waiting for 2nd subchain to get completed. The AND process is turning to RED (status: cancelled) . I tried to repeat the AND process once after above 2 subchains loaded, but it didnt worked.
And i removed the existing AND process and created a new one and placed it in same place and activated and schedules again.but still it is getting failed with same error.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sai Chand.S

    Hi,
If you did any transports related to that metachain we face similar kind of issues.
not only the AND process , we need to remove all the process before executing the AND process and create it again.
It helps you, you said your in production So you should take the proper approvals and do it.

  • When syncing after recent update, sync is stuck at "Step 4 of 4" "Waiting for changes to be applied" and will not complete, even after hours.  How can this be fixed?

I completed the most recent software update for both iTunes and iPhone recently.  I am now trying to sync my iPhone to add newly purchased audiobooks and the sync remains stuck at "Step 4 of 4" with the message "Waiting for changes to be applied"  I have tried everything to correct this.  When sync is cancelled a failure to sync message is generated.  Any ideas????

Alright, so I reset my computer and suddenly it then recovered. Other times it wouldn't recover after resetting the computer, so I have no idea how it happened. I just restarted the computer lots of time and finally it worked.
Okay, back to square one. Now to transfer music, I tried my previous acknowledgable solutions but they didn't work. The iPod touch does not feature a hard-disk mode, and windows media player doesn't support iPods.
I've tried multiple programs to transfer music but none of them work properly and keep giving me error codes. So my iPod still gets stuck at Step 4: Waiting for changes to be applied or whatever it said.
Thanks in advance ._. (Please help)
p.s - Apple is useless. If I don't get steady answers tomorrow I'm going to end up calling them and get this problem fixed first hand. Second hand? I don't know, over the **** phone.

  • Material Description is not displaying for few records in Report

    Dear Experts,
Report Material Description is not displaying for few records in Bex Report but for records it is coming and even the heading of the material Description is also not coming for this report.
Cud u plz suggest a good solution for it.
    Regards,
    Sai Phani.

    Hi Phani,
For the text of the material in records, check if there is text maintained for that material in the master data. also try by changing the text to medium text and long text.
regarding header, you will have same heading for key and text, you may use Materail ID / Description as the heading if you want.
    regards,

Hello,  I have songs that show they are "Waiting" for download from the cloud but they are greyed out.  Some songs in one album are done others in the same album will not download. It is not a time function because i have been working on this for weeks. I have allowed my compter to run for days and the songs are still not accessible.  I have a Match subscription and Match is working.  If I click on the "Genre" link the greyed out songs show that they are ready for download from the cloud but I cannot download them.  I have downloaded over 1500 other songs, so I am trying to understand what is going on here. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
    Thanks

I did think about that and if I have to I will do that, however there are about 50 songs. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times and I am sure that I have the latest version. It fails right away but I can click on the cloud download icon and download the song that it failed on ... therefore it is not that song "or any one song" causing the issue. Any ideas?
