Wait Step - Delay in completion - Date/Time specified

Hi Experts,
I've requirement to wait till a specific date/time to reach. For this, I've created a custom method to find out the date/time according to the factory calendar. I'm using a wait statement with option 'Wait for Condition' and condition mentioned comparing the date/time with the system date and time.
But, the completion of wait step is not occurring when the system time reached the specified date/time. It is taking some more time get completed, say 5 to 10 minutes. The condition mentioned in the Wait step is logically correct.
Some of my friends told me that, it depends on the system resources available, but they are not sure.
Can anyone tell me what might be the problem and is there any remedy for this?
Thanks in Advance,
Siva Sankar.

It seems that the Report RSWWCOND ss scheduled not on a regular basis.
It should be scheduled every two minutes.
Thanks

  • Editing a Wait Step in Campaign Canvas

I have a wait step in Campaign Canvas to wait until a specific date - 5/5/15 at 7am because the email is supposed to go out at that time. If I want to change the send date, can I deactivate the program and then change that wait step to wait until 5/7/15, will there be any issues with people that are currently held in that step? I know in Program Builder it can be tricky editing the Hold steps if there are people currently in that step, but if I'm not waiting a specified number of days, but rather a specific date, should I be OK to go ahead and do that? Or should I just add another wait step after the wait until 5/5/15 instead of editing it?
    Thanks!

Yes, you should be fine to de-activate, change the date and re-activate. If you don't trust it, you could always keep the wait step like it is, then pass them into a second wait step with the new date. That way you can even visually see if they move.
Another way to verify is you can click on the green bubble in the corner of the wait step - then scroll all the way to the right, and on the contacts it will tell you when they are waiting until(sometimes you have to adjust the column sizes to be able to see it depending on browser)

  • Wait Step in Workflow

    Hi Workflow gurus,
I have 2 questions want to ask.
    1. We have a wait step deadline monitoring in our workflow project. Let's say 30 day wait period. After 30 days workflow is getting triggered & everything works fine. But that is really required in Production. In Dev/QA systems we do not want to wait really 30 day. We want a small time period, let's say 1 day. Now what is the best way to handle this? Meaning Different time periods for different systems for the same workflow & same wait step period.
    2. If a work item is waiting for a wait step to be completed(for ex waiting for 60 day wait period) before 60 day itself,
can we execute manually that work item using any std report?
    Kindly help me.
    Thanks,
    Pandu.

    Hi Pandu,
    1. There are a couple of things you can do in this instance. You could manually remove the deadline after the 1 day threshold.
Open the work item and select Edit -> Change -> Change Deadline -> Excute and then remove the Requested Start deadline
(ensure you have Technical View set for the work item display)
Deadline monitoring (SWWDHEX) will have to execute before the work item will transition out of a Waiting state.
Alternatively you could store the deadline parameter externally in a config table somewhere and retrieve it into the workflow for use with your deadline. Obviously when you change the configuration from 30 days to 1 taking care to ensure that the changes are not transported to prod. Not really fond of this since there is a risk of transporting the changes.
    2. Transactions like SWIA don't allow you to execute work items in a Waiting state. So as above go into the work item and either change the deadline or execute.
    I hope this helps,
    Best Regards,
    Trevor

  • Notification: completion date

    Hi experts,
When creating a notification with IW51.
The field Date (VIQMEL-QMDAT) is automatically set to the current date.
The field Time (VIQMEL-MZEIT) is automatically set to the current time.
After having processed the notification the notification has to be marked as complete.
For that purpose, we use the completion flag.
A popup is issued which propose the creation date and time as reference date and time for closure.
We would like that the popup suggest to current date and time in the completion popup instead of the creation date and time of the Notification.
It seems that, in table QMEL, the fields used to store the creation date and time are BEZDT and BEZUR.
Has anyone an idea to achieve this ?
Of course, it would be better to use standard functionnality ... but ABAP development can be considered as well.
    Thank you very much.
    Regards,
    Philippe

    Hi,
The default notification reference date can be defined in customizing:
    IMG -
      Plant Maintenance and Customer Service
      Maintenance and Service Processing
      Maintenance and Service Notifications
      Notification Creation
      Notification Types
      Define Notification Types
Select the relevant notification type then on detail screen the setting for Reference time field. It appears you want the value D here to specify notification completion date/time.

  • Completion date for manually created maintenance notification

    Hi All,
When closing maintenance notification created manually by t-code- IW21,there is no field to enter completion date & time. System is proposing the current  date as completion  date by default. However , as I have flagged u201Ccompletion datau201D  in maintenance plan category for notification ,system is asking/proposing completion date/time during NOCO of preventive maintenance.
Where I can do settings in configuration so that system  will ask/propose to enter completion date/time during NOCO of manually created notification by t-code IW21?
    rgds
    rajib

In notification type views you have option to set Reference date & time- if you set it to A- Malfunction start date & time will
be proposed, if  you set it to B- Notification receipt date & time will be proposed, if you set it to C- Malfunction end time will
be proposed, & in case of D - current date & time of completion of notification will be proposed while completing notification.
Better set it to B & make the field malfunction start date & time mandatory  so that your history will be with reference to malfunction start. Or you can set it to A, C or D as per your requirement

  • TestStand Process Hangs on Wait Step

From time to time we have experienced TestStand hanging on a wait step configured for a constant time period (e.g.. 0.2 seconds).  The execution will enter the wait step but never return from it, hanging the execution thread indefinitely.  The only way to clear this is to break the execution, then terminate, killing all threads and restart TestStand.  We all using TestStand 2010 SP1 running on Windows XP but have seen this issue on previous versions of TestStand (4.2 and 4.0).  Most of the time we execute these sequences via a .NET operator interface based on the Fully featured example shipped with TestStand, but I do not believe this is an Operator Interface issue, as it only occurs when executing wait steps. Memory and CPU usage look normal to me at the time of the lock up and we have experience this on multiple PC's.  Its just like TestStand enters a wait process but loses the plot and never returns.
Has anyone else experienced this sort of issue, or have any ideas on what may be causing it?
    Regards,
    David

We are still seeing this issue although we had experienced it in Teststand 4.2 (but not earlier versions of TestStand - I have been using TestStand since the days of TestStand 2).  There are no post step call-backs or post action steps of any kind.  Almost all of our sequences run in single threads. The issue is as far as I can see a lock-up on a simple wait step configured for a time period. The problem is that it occurs so intermittently it is difficult to pin down.  For instance we are running nine automated RF test stations, executing tests for up to 4 days at a time.  There can be a lot of wait executions over this period of time, as we have to wait for the product we are testing to cool to within a reference temperature window.  On average we may see one lock-up in a month, but when it occurs it can kill a 3 to 4 day test requiring it to be restarted - very frustrating for the users.
We do execute via a run-time operator interface based on the NI example with a few modifications.  However, we have never had any problems running this, and as it is the wait step causing problems I cannot think it is just caused by the operator interface.

    David

  • Wait Step is taking more time than specified

  • Wait step taking longer time than the defined wait time

    Hi,
We have very simple BPM with 3 steps: Receive, Wait and Send.
    Wait step has following parameters:
    Type: Wait Specified Time Period
    Duration: 1
    Unit: Minutes
    From the above parameters idelly it should wait only for 60 sec and start the next step which is send step. But Wait step is taking following times: 1m 09s,1m 40s, 3m 40s, 1m 41s, 2m 10s, 2m 16s, 2m 46s, 1m 09s, 1m 40s, 3m 39s
Does anyone know what could be the reason for above longer wait time??
    Thx
    N@v!n

    Hi Naveen,
How did you measure these times? Tha additional time might be because of the message processing time included or size of the message is bigger to process.. or may be because of the network traffic..!!
Check the each time stamp from message monitoring tool in RWB and verify for accuracy.

  • Second BW data load job waits for first to complete.

    Hi all,
Iam manually loading data into my BW system , i have observed that if i try to load two data source together the system wait fror one to complete then only it will trigger the secnond load. eg if i run 2lis_11_vahdr and 2lis_13_Vdhdr together.
The RSMo shows data records for 11_vahdr but for 13_vdhdr it is zero untill the the 11_vahdr finishes.
I have 8 background processes are available both in Bw and R/3
    Please help.
    Regards,

    Hi,
the case may not be like that...if one finishes then only the other one starts....
When u start those 2 loads observe the background process in R/3 which starts with job name:BI_REQ*
As per my guesses bcoz of ur 8 background processes when u start 2 loads at a time there will be 2 jobs trigerring in R/3 with job name given above....
One job may be going into RELEASED state in R/3 and waits for the first  job to finish and after that finishes the previous one comes into ACTIVE state and start generating idoc's...
by this we can say that this may be due to resorces avialability in R/3...
u closely mnitor the jobs in R/3....

  • How can we specify date time under History Tab of Imaging

    Hi
I am using Oracle Webcenter Imaging 11.1.1.5, when i search for a document and view it, under History tab i have following information available.

The date specifies the date when it was modified and user specifies UserName who modified it.

Can someone help me how to achieve this?

However, when I look at the execution plan, I see that the last predicate (to_number(answer) > 0) has been executed the first. Henceforth, it checks many rows first. Normally, 75 rows belong to 31/12/2012 as you see from the following. Can I specify the execution order?According to the execution plan, it will do a full scan of surveys using the predicate on insertdate to build the (presumably in-memory) hash table (hash based on survey_id) to do the joins (Step 2). Then, it does a full scan of the answers table using the question_uid and answer predicates (Step 3). For each row it finds that matches those predicate, it will prpobe the hash table created in step 2 using the hashed value of survey_seq_id. So, it is doing the insertdate predicate first.

No, it is an implicit type conversion. Your code says answer > 0, since the answer column is a varchar2 column, Oracle implicitly converts the answer column to a number to compare against the number on the right side of the comparison. Note that if something like 'A' ever becomes a valid answer, then this query will fail with ORA-01722: invalid number.
    >
    >
Obviously "A"."ANSWER" is not a number colmun, problably varchar, so use something like
    A.ANSWER != "0"
    or
A.ANSWER > "0"Yes answer column is varchar2 but can you type A.ANSWER > "0" as a predicate? I mean, you can not varchar > varchar, can you?
Of course you can use inequality predicates on a varcahr column. Is the string A greater than the string B?
Based on the explain plan, your statistics might be a little off, not hugely so. The esitmates are at least in the right order of magnitude based on what you have posted so far.
What indexes, if any, are available on the two tables?

  • Error submitting tasks: Operation could not be completed within the specified time

I've created a Batch Application and I'm having an issue running a job.  Its suppose to synchronize 2 azure blob containers.
In my JobSplitter, I compare 2 azure blob containers and find the files in the first container that need to be copied over to the second one.  Just figuring out which files to copy over can take about 5 to 6 minutes the first time this is run depending
on the number of files that need to get copied over.
Once we have the files that need to be copied, we group them into sets and create a task for each set.
The exe that the TaskProcessor runs doesn't do anything just yet. All it does is write the arguments sent to it into a file. Nothing major.
On the last run, about 900 tasks were created. Four of the tasks completed successfully. I can download the output files for them just fine. The next 4 tasks failed with an error.
Looking in the JobLogs, I see this:
    The job orchestrator finished
Failed to process job ac8dd4a3-d882-4ec1-847d-48844fa3e1f4: Error submitting tasks: Operation could not be completed

    Has anyone seen this before?
    Thanks,
    matt

This error is usually a transient error, typically related to an internal storage timeout.  We're working on a fix for it.
In the meantime, if you go into the Batch Apps portal, select the failed job and click Reprocess in the command bar, Batch Apps should re-run the failed tasks and the not-run tasks.  (Note that the tasks that already succeeded will not be re-run, and
we will not re-run the job splitter to create new tasks.)
Please let us know if you continue to see this problem or if reprocessing the job doesn't work for you.

  • Specifying date time format in Finder

How can I specify the date-time format in Finder for the "date-modified" and "date-created" columns in list view?
About three years ago, I got a command line instruction to set these formats and I kept it at mm/dd/yy
Then a couple days ago, I changed the date format in iStat menus and the date-time formats started acting weird. I want the dates to be like "07/08/05" (mm/dd/yy) and then the formats started changing to "November 07, 2008" (month/dd/yyyy). This change seemed to take effect any time I open the view options for a folder. Now I discovered that the date format change depending on the column width according to the format specified in system preferences, international, formats.
Narrow column, short date format; a little wider to long format, with ellipses if the column is not wide enough; then full format.
Does anyone know the command line to set the format to keep it to the one I want?

this doesn't seem to be it. however I now like the way Finder does display dates -- format gets more compact as the width of the column decreases; although there still is some excess space left on the left -- perhaps for AM & PM which I don't use; I use a 24 hour time format instead.
    Happy New Year
