Wallpaper disappearing

I have a Nokia 6288 and have noticed every time i turn my phone off the wallpaper on the main background is lost when i turn my phone back on. It just appears as a blank screen. How can i fix this??

hurrah, think i have found a fix at least, certainly works for me.
I have a nokia 6288. every time i turn it off, the wallpaper keeps disappearing and i lose ringtone settings.
The solution: turn on your fone. You need to apply one of the phone's default themes (go to menu/settings/themes)
Then, customize your phone the way you want it to work and choose your own wallpaper etc. Now switch your phone off. When you switch your phone back on, hopefully, you will find that your settings including wallpaper are saved.
Hope you guys appreciate the effort that i went to to figure this out haha. i first tried reinstalling/updating the firmware. This was extemely annoying and time consuming task as the update software is pretty buggy and i think there is a generic hardware issue with the usb cable connectors for this model of phone.

  • Wallpaper disappears when I bring up Photobooth from my Apps?

I'm trying to figure out how to fix this glitch I've been experiencing recently with my Wallpaper/background. Whenever I bring up Photo Booth from my applications, my wallpaper disappears to be replaced by a solid blue background. It's only started happening a couple days ago, and I've only experienced this problem with Photo Booth, none of my other applications. Any ideas what the problem is???
Oh, P.S.- Photo Booth still works just fine.

Interesting and where to begin? I do not see anything in the plist that looks like it would create this glitch however lets eliminate the possibility.
Move to the desktop the com.apple.PhotoBooth.plist and relaunch PhotoBooth.
    Found in your user/Library/Preferences/com.apple.PhotoBooth.plist
If no change you can always return it.
If this is the case of no change, try opening new user account and see if thew problem persist. Report back.

  • When I log in with another user my wallpaper disappear

Hi, I had this problem with mountain lion and still have it with mavericks
I have three user accounts in my mac mini, one for each person in the family.
When we switch between one user to another the wallpapers disappear showing only a solid background.
It's very annoying to select a wallpaper everytime we log into our account.
I'd appretiate if somebody can help me to fix this.
    Regards, and Happy New Year!

I know of one other topic similar to this. I'm not sure if it was solved.
When things like that revert back to the wrong settings, it is usually that the system cannot write to the preference list file, or in this case, the database.
On the other topic, they tried deleting the desktop database and the desktop.plist, but I don't think it helped.
If you are seeing this across the board for all users, it has to be something else interfering.
Please try booting into Safe Mode and try changing desktop pictures, then switch users.
Some things do not work in Safe Mode, and it might appear sluggish.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564
If it works in Safe Mode, it is third-party software interfering.
    FYI:
The database is in your user/Library/Application Support/Dock folder: desktop.db
The preference list is in your user/Library/Preferences folder: com.apple.desktop.plist

  • Second monitor wallpaper disappears

Ever since I installed 10.7.2 I've had problems with the desktop wallpaper on second monitor disappearing. Its;m replaced at random intervals by neutral gray screen. Icons remain and everything works, just wallpaper is missing. If I turn the montor off and then back on wallpaper reappears and then some time later it goes away again. Yes, I've checked the cables
I'm stumped and have googled my brains out. Anyone have a solution of is it a bug?

I have exactly the same problem. Mostly happens after the wakeup.

  • Wallpaper disappeared

Once I got my phone, I picked out a wallpaper from the factory settings, and it worked just fine. Suddenly, the background disappeared and it's black. When my phone locks, and I have to slide to open it, I see my background then, but once unlocked it's back to black. Tried to change the photo, same issue continues... any advice? Thanks a bunch

so what happens if you try to change the desktop background again? try that. if it doesn't work delete the file /users/username/library/preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist and log out/in. your desktop background will be reset to the default and you should be able to change it to anything you want.

  • All desktops and icons/wallpaper disappear after updating

My main desktop icons/wallpaper dissappear when I swipe to a different desktop/fullscreen App like Mail or iCal.  Mission control shows nothing but a blank desktop.  If you blindly click around I can find my documets/folders on the desktop.  You can even create a new folder but it dissapers too.  It appears to be covered by a dark grey desktop that is hiding everything.  This happened right after I updated today.

Sorry, missed the part about updating to lion.
Mine is doing this but not from an update.
I was dragging photos to a file and must have let go of them without realizing it.  {BTW, didn't mean to do this}  Window said it was copying, from finder and I'm assuming it meant to the desktop.  My computer copied some but not all. I relaunched finder and everything on my desktop disappeared.  When tapping on the screen/desktop, hard-drive and files will reappear.   When pulling files/hard-drive from my computer and placing on desktop, they will disappear when the original file pops up.   When computer is shut down and restarted, I go through the same thing.  I ran disk repair and the test from the install disk and nothing is wrong.
So, what do I do to correct this and keep my hard-drive/files on my desktop?

  • HP Notebook wallpaper disappeared

    Dear all,
I just bought a new notbook (HP Pavillion P-277ND). When I used it for the first time, I got the question (Microsoft) whether I wanted to use the settings/configuration (I forgot the exact word) of my desktop pc. I chose 'yes'.
Now the beautiful picture of the winding road (wallpaper) is gone!
I cannot find it anywhere on the notebook nor on the internet.
Does anyone know how I can get back the wallpaper of the winding road (with lights)?
    Thanks!

  • My wallpaper disappeared

I have upgraded to Yosemite and now my wallpaper doesn't show up in the background (the picture of Yosemite).  How do I get it back?
    Thank you!

I have the same issue. Very annoying. It happens every time a quick user switch is performed. This is the family Mac, and every time we switch accounts the wallpaper is gone and replaced by a uniform blue background. If you logout and log back in again the wallpaper is back. Hope Apple fixes it soon.

  • Wallpaper disappears to Universe after shutdown

Any wallpaper I select from IPhoto will revert to "universe" after a shutdown.

    Drag and drop.
There seems to be a bug in the desktop wall paper settings.
The Picture Folder has in some cases proven to be more stable,  then say the iPhoto Folder.
If you have multiple Desktops open in Mission Control you may try changing the background pix for all desktops,  or close all desktops then set the "wallpaper."

  • Wallpaper disappears when switching users

When my wife logs in if I am already logged in, she gets a black desktop with no wallpaper. If she is logged in and I log in, I get the same. Is anybody else experiencing this kind of issue? I'm running 10.9.1 on a 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7 iMac.

First you posted this to the Macbook Pro Notebook forum. I'll ask it to be moved to the iMac forum.
Could be you have selected background wall paper that is located in specific Username folders and for some reason they are not connecting to that specific folder when both users are logged in.
If your wallpaper is a picture stored in a iPhoto library folder/file try copying it, exporting it, to the default wallpaper folder used for each user.
I have seen this before where a user was referencing a image in iPhoto that sometimes didn't show properly. Once they copied that image to the default wallpaper folder it worked just like any other file in that default location.
