Wanna buy a new computer. I wanna transfer all songs to new computer without harddrive or wires.

Im thinking of buying a desktop computer soon. Currently using a laptop. The new desktop pc will be the main itunes. So now i just want to know how to have all my songs in my laptop's itunes to be transfered into the desktop pc's storage and itunes.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

hi i just buy a macbook how can i transfer all my musics and apps from my iphone to my new itune?

    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.
also, there are PhoneView and iRip.

  • TS2776 why does my computer give me a cant find files notice when syncing my ipod? only about 1/2 of the songs transfer to computer out of the ipod. and the file must be on the ipod because i can play the song on it. i want to transfer all songs to my ipa

why can't i transfer all songs on my ipod to my computer and then to my new ipad? i keep getting a message saying that about half of the files couldn't be found, and only about 1/2 of the songs went to the ipad when i first synced. the files must be on the ipod, because i can play all 448 from the ipod when disconnected from the computer. and all songs show up on my devices at itunes and can be played on the computer. but only about 1/2 are going to the ipad. i am no tech genius, obviously, but could someone please help me? thanks

Apple does not support transferring files from the device to the computer if they are third party.  It is great that you were able to transfer the ones you did.  There is a way to do it but it sounds like you already did it because if not half of them would not come over.  The files can probably not be found because they are third party and the files are not compatible with the transfer process.

  • How to transfer all songs from ipod to my library?

got a new ipod, but some of my songs are only on old ipod, not in my lib. how to transfer all songs from old ipod to lib, so i can put them on new ipod. both ipods are 4GB mini. thanks for help.

There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content only from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

  • About two years ago I bought an Ipod (4), recently I bought an Iphone 4S. I just wanna transfer some songs from my old ipod to my new phone and I am not being capable to find a way in Itunes!! Any help???

About two years ago I bought an Ipod (4), recently I bought an Iphone 4S. I just want to transfer some songs from my old ipod to my new phone and I am not being capable to find a way in Itunes!! Any help???

    Just transfer them from iTunes.
If they are not in iTunes. connect the iPod, then File > Devices > Transfer purchases.
Then connect the iPhone and sync these songs.

For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • Transfer all songs to new computer.

I recently purchased a new notebook and I want to do all my itunes work on it instead of my old desktop. How do I transfer all my songs that are on my ipod and on itunes on my old computer to my new computer? I tried storing all the songs on an external hard drive and then importing them from there. But itunes wants me to import each song individually. Is there a way to transfer all my songs at once? HELP

I'll try to help. Check this link (it is from another post):

and then read from this paragraph:

This was a helpful solution to a different problem which will likely solve your problem.
    Good luck.

  • Where can I buy a NEW iPhone WITHOUT a service plan?

I have an iTouch now, I'm sell it.
I want to have external speakers for apps and alarms.
I do not want iTouch 2nd generation.
I do not currently need it as a phone, but would like to have it for when I am ready.
Is it possible to purchase the latest iPhone without any phone plan? When I go through the steps to purchase an iPhone from apple.com it doesn't have a "no plan" option.
Do other places online / B&M sell iPhones or only apple.com and apple stores? (I do not want a used or refurbished)
Surely I can still get a hold of an NEW iPhone without a service plan... but where and for how much?

You can't buy a new iPhone in the US without a plan. Even if you could buy one, it would not work (even as an iPod) until activated with a cell phone provider. You would have to buy a used iPhone that had been activated. Be sure to get a US model (or one for your country if you aren't in the US). Check the part numbers in the right column of
    <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937>
to make sure it is the correct version for your country.
An officially unlocked one from one of the countries that sell them would also be OK, but any repair would have to be done in its original country. It would have to have been activated in some country, also.

  • How do I transfer all songs on my iPod to iTunes?

I just got a new computer but some of my songs weren't backed up. Now the only place where they exist is on my iPod. If I plug in my iPod will it transfer all my songs to iTunes?

The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases.  File>Transfer Purchases

  • Is there a way to transfer all songs off of an ipod and not just purchases?

I recently purchased an MSI wind netbook, with windows xp home. I was wondering if there is a way to import all songs into the itunes library? I have all of my songs on a gateway solo, but I screwed that computer up and have never gotten around to fixing it. I enabled disk mode on the ipod, and accessed the hidden files on the ipod. I can get to all of my songs, but their names are all four capitol letters. I could copy them all to a new folder and then import them, but this would be only as a last resort as I dont have the patience to spend 5 hours organizing the songs. Please help!

    Welcome to AD!
You can try these Apple directions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329
Or buy a 3rd-party ipod manager such as CopyTrans.

  • IPod Will not Transfer all Songs to iTunes

The iPod would only transfer some songs to iTunes when I pressed the tranfer purchases button. I lost alot of songs that I can't get back. This is very frustrating!!! Any help?

so then technically I can't transfer the songs off my ipod to my itunes library?  since it is one 1 transfer from pc to ipod...correct?  So when I synch my ipod the warning screen comes up and says "there are content not in the library, erase and synch library to Itunes, only purchased songs can transfer."   Can I leave the songs on my ipod and when I purchase new songs to itunes I can still transfer those correct?  while having the others on there that wont transfer?

  • Sync Does Not Transfer All Songs By Artist

I am trying to sync my iPhone 3G with my music library... all of the songs transfer for all of the artists selected except for 1 artist. For this artist only 1 full album and 1 song from the second album transfers. Can someone help?
    The following settings are selected:
    On Main Tab:
    - The "sync only checked files" is checked.
    - The "manage music/videos manually" is not checked.
    On Music Tab:
    - "Selected Playlists, Artists and Genres" is selected
    - "Include Videos" and "Include Voice Memos" are both selected
    - The artists I want to have transferred, including artist in question, are checked
    - All songs are checked in iTunes library
So, all of the songs for all of the artists transferred except for 8 (of 9) songs from this 1 artist's second album.
I am running Windows 7 and iTunes 9.0 - (9.1 was making my PC crash for some reason.)
    Thanks!

My point in the original posting that this is a bug seems to have been answered affirmatively by the notations of the quirkiness of the action. The argument that it must not be a bug because it would have been solved by now is totally disingenuous. Apparently Apple programmers (or their management) are not any superior to Microsoft programmers in that they focus on adding new bells and whistles while allowing longstanding problems in the core code to continue to fester.

  • How to transfer all songs in playlist, but omit certain songs

How do you transfer from Itunes to Ipod 30gb all songs in a playlist, but omit certain songs from the songs that are played when using the Shuffle Song Feature.
Example set up B Dylan Greatest Hits as a Playlist but not have any of those songs play using Shuffle Songs.
    Ipod 30GB

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Right click the song and go to get info. Hit the options tab. Select skip when shuffling. Sync your iPod when finished with all the songs you want to.

  • Is there a way to transfer all songs including the ones downloaded from cds on to a new computer?

I have just downloaded itunes on to a new laptop and when I have tried to tranfer the songs from my ipod on to it I was only able to tranfer the songs that i had purchased through itunes.
Is there any way of transfering the songs that are on my ipod the weren't purchased through itunes?

Ideally you would transfer you working library, or a backup of it, from your old computer to your new one. If that's not possible then...
    Recover media from iPod
