Want help in rfc to jdbc connection

Hi PI gurus
I have a requirement in PI that i have to integrate SAP with pacer system .pacer is having oracle database.
in SAP side iam using RFC in pacer side i have to use JDBC adapter.i have to update the data in pacer tables.this should be asynchronous messaging. Please guide me with proper blogs . i want to get step by step process. Points immedietly rewarded.
Thanks and Regards

HI,
This weblog answer your question
step by step RFC to JDBC scenario
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/xi/step%2bby%2bstep%2brfc%2bto%2bjdbc%2bscenario

/people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/09/16/xi-how-to-on-jdbc-receiver-response
1. Create a RFC in the R/3 system
2. Configure the SM59 and Sender Communication channle as given in the Michal's blog. Also test if it is succesful.
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
3. Import the RFC in XI
4. Do the mapping to the target strucutre
5. Configure the JDBC receiver adapter
/people/sameer.shadab/blog/2005/10/24/connecting-to-ms-access-using-receiver-jdbc-adapter-without-dsn
6. You can trigger the RFC from R/3 sytem by using
Async Call
CALL Function "RFC Name" IN BACKGROUND TASK destination <sm59 destination>
COMMIT WORK.
Sync Call
CALL Function "RFC Name" destination <sm59 destination>
Thanks

    Help on RFC to JDBC and JDBC to RFC
    Hi Gurus
    I have the scenario where an RFC will be triggered in SAP , to write to a DB2 database and insert new records in a table
    and vice versa the JDBC has to read som data from a table based on a primary key, mark them as read for not be read next time and send the data to an RFC where a table in SAP will be updated.
    I have never worked with JDBC before , pls advice.
    is there any new issue to consider in PI 7.0 regarding JDBC
    Thanks.

    The requirement looks standard,
    SEARCH IN SDN FOR JDBC scenarios,you will find many docs for sender as well as Receiver.

  • I want the complete JDBC Connection details

    Hi
    I want to have a complete JDBC Connection like how to insert records, update/edit records and deleting records. Do u know a website or can anybody give an entire code having all the functions of JDBC.

    I'm a Nigerian diplomat. If you send me a check for $1000 USD I'll send you $1M and all those code samples.
    It'd be better for you to go read and try them yourself. They're not that hard.
    It'd also be better for you not to be so demanding. This is a volunteer forum, and nobody owes you anything. Your manners are appalling.

  • JDBC Connection for Oracle

    Hello Experts,
    I'm having some trouble getting a JDBC connection to work correctly and I am in need of some advice.
    Background:
    I have setup a test Portal 7.00 SP14 with an Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 database on a Windows 2003 X64 server.  The Portal system was up and running and connecting to a WAS6.20 systems.  We do not have BI or XI in our landscape.
    I needed to connect to an Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 database from visual composer to read some data from tables to do a proof of concept. From what I understand this connection will be a JDBC connection.  I have setup a new system using the JDBC template, assisnged an alias, and entered the connection URL .  I was unable to connect.
    I read that I need to add the driver using Visual Composer.  I did so with the following instructions:
    Install JDBC Driver
    • Start the Visual Administrator
    • Logon at WebAS
    • Open: Server, Services, JDBC Connector, Drivers
    • Choose “Create New Driver or DataSource” on the toolbar
    • Specify an arbitrary name for your driver entry such as “OracleDriver” and click OK
    • Now search for the Oracle JDBC Driver JAR file on your local harddisk.
    I restarted the Java instance with SMICM after completing this task Java will not start.  Is there anyway to roll back that change to get Java back up and running?
    Also is there a better way to go about making this oracle connection?
    Best Regards,

    Hi,
    although [this guide|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/92d80512-0a01-0010-32a3-cd3735bd9275] is for Visual Composer I find it very helpful in setting up JDBC connections to databases. There is a very deltailed section about setting up a system to a MS SQL Server and the relevant data if you want to connect to Oracle:
    4.2 BI JDBC Connector to Oracle
    Located at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html
    Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    URL: jdbc:oracle:<drivertype>:@<database>
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@myhost:1521:orcl
    Hope this helps,
    Holger.

  • Servlets and multiple JDBC connections...

    Hi Guru's
    I want to perform multiple JDBC queries simultaneously from my servlet. Let's say I have a connection pool containing JDBC connections. Now what I want to do is to use each of this connections simultaneously to perform queries in parallel.
    What is the best way to do this??? create multiple threads, one for each query, and then collate results when all threads are finished???
    Has anyone does this before or know of any links or samples which I can look at??
    your help much appreciated...
    Many Thanks

    Thanks but further questions....
    But take care:
    multithreading might only work parallel if there are
    multiple processors - otherwise the thread fragments
    will be processed one after the other until they are
    finished.I agree. My server has multiple processors hence multi-threading.
    Why do you need to perform the queries
    simultaneously?
    wouldn't it work too when you perform the queries one
    after the other?To speed up performance. Sequential processing is too slow at the moment.
    Hope you don't try doing so inside one single
    database...yes inside a single databse.
    Do you have any links to sample example etc..??? Importantly are you aware of any issues when one does this type of multi-threading from servlet. i.e does it clash with servlet's threading model etc...
    I am aware of how servlets multithread requests and am quite familiar with them. Just wanted some examples on multithreading JDBC connections from servlets and how I can wait for all threads to finish before collecting results....also wanted to make sure that there are no other issues....
    further help will be much appreciated.....

  • Unable to create dynamic JDBC Connections in RMI Server

    Hi,
    Goal: Using Swing client to connect to a variety of JDBC databases via RMI dynamically....
    J2SE : 1.4.2
    J2EE: 1.31
    Databases: Oracle 9i(R2), MySQL 4.0, MS Access 2000
    Platform : Windows 2000 SP4 (Professional and Server)
    I have a working client-server application using RMI to connect to a single database. I want the ability
    to create JDBC connections dynmically by invoking a RMI method after it has been bound. Presently
    I am getting null pointers. Anybody offer any solutions or work arounds?

    Goal: Using Swing client to connect to a variety of
    JDBC databases via RMI dynamically....Actually what u want from the client swing is to form a Form using the datamodel from the database, invoke query as the client is allowed and wants and update changes. I hope I got it right, thats what u want.
    Actually as per my knowledge goes thats what any Database 3-tier program should do.
    I have a working client-server application using RMI
    to connect to a single database. I want the ability
    to create JDBC connections dynmically by invoking a
    RMI method after it has been bound. Presently
    I am getting null pointers. Anybody offer any
    solutions or work arounds?Database connections are only needed as long as the query to the database are being processed. So for ur solution if u have a RMI method that, will invoke first, the database connection and then process the query and then disconnect it , would be enough. When multiple clients will call the method there will be multiple connections to the database as they can have threads working or if u want one process at a time u can sycronize the method. This RMI method will only return the result set of the query and that would be enough for ur solution. Now to be able to say why ur getting null pointers I would need the code u r using.

    If you have iTunes 11 on your Mac then you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S, that might make it easier to navigate.
    Connect the phone to your Mac and select it on that left-hand sidebar, and on the right-hand side of the screen there should be a series of tabs which you can use to select what to sync to the phone. If it's an audiobook then it should appear on the Books tab for selecting/syncing, and films will be on the Movies tab. When you've got the audiobook on your phone you should get an Audiobooks option in the Music app (you might need to tap the '...' tab at the bottom of the Music app to see it).

  • Need help in DB2 JDBC connection from JDeveloper extension

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper extension to build my application. Here in the preferences, I have a UI in which I need to specify DB2 database connection parameters for establishing JDBC connection. After copying the required driver jar and license jar to the extension folder and specifying the CLASSPATH in extension.xml file, I am able to get the DB Connection. But the issue here is, I do not want the user to copy the driver jars to the extension path and neither to hardcode the driver CLASSPATH in extension.xml. Instead, if the user loads the driver jar in the CLASSPATH using command line, after launching JDev plug-in, I need to still be able to connect to the DB2 JDBC which is not happening. I am getting the error which says "Missing class com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver". I have ensured that the CLASSPTH is set for the driver and licensing jars for DB2. How can I get rid of this error without specifying the classpath in extension.xml file.
    Thanks,
    Sudha.

    drivers for DB2 for the JDBC adapter.
    1. db2jcc.jar
    2. db2_license_cu.jar
    3. db2_license_cisuz.jar

  • JBO-26061, Error while opening JDBC connection, please help

    Hello
    I am new to JDeveloper suite.
    I tried to follow BC4J/JSP tutorial found in "JDeveloper Handbook" but every time I try to execute my starter page, I get the following error:
    Error Message: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.DMLException, msg=JBO-26061: Error while opening JDBC connection.
    Connection test runs successfully in JDev itself and I had no trouble with creating BC4j components (entity object, view and application module), mapping fields etc. Bc4j.xcfg file looks OK as well as server.xml of OC4J server.
    I guess that OC4J server is unable to connect to database, but I cannot see why and what could be done about it.
    Any recommendations would be warmly appreciated. Please send cc to [email protected] as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kristjan

    Kristjan,
    BC4J has a tester that can be used to test applications. Right mousew click onto the Application Module and choose tester from the menu. Use setting as defaulted. If this can't connect, then obviously the database connection defined for the Application module is different from the one you are testing. Also, make sure the database password of the connection gets deployed (checkbox option in the connection dialog)

  • RFC-XI-JDBC Scenario: Help with RFC code

    HI,
    I am doing RFC-XI-JDBC Scenario, where I have to poll the contents of my Ztable in SAP to Oracle.
    The appraoach i am using here is :
    1. Created a FM with import parameters as the fields of my Ztable and without any  export parameter or source code.
    2. Created a report to call that FM in background. The code of my report is as follows :
    ************************REPORT***********************************************************
    Data:       it_zrfc_read_table type table of zrfc_read_table,
                wa_zrfc_read_table like line of it_zrfc_read_table.
    PARAMETERS: tab_name like DD02L-TABNAME.
    Data:       l_tabname type DD02L-TABNAME.
    At selection-screen.
    select single tabname from DD02L into l_tabname  where tabname = tab_name.
    if sy-subrc <> 0.
      message 'incorrect table name' type 'E'.
    endif.
    start-of-selection.
    select * from (tab_name) into corresponding fields of table it_zrfc_read_table.
    loop at it_zrfc_read_table into wa_zrfc_read_table.
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZRFC_READ_TABLE2XI'
    IN BACKGROUND TASK DESTINATION 'ORACLEGIS_RFC_SENDER'
      EXPORTING
        valve_id       = wa_zrfc_read_table-valve_id
        equnr          = wa_zrfc_read_table-equnr
        ernam          = wa_zrfc_read_table-ernam
        invnr          = wa_zrfc_read_table-invnr
        groes          = wa_zrfc_read_table-groes
        elief          = wa_zrfc_read_table-elief
        gwlen          = wa_zrfc_read_table-gwlen
        gwldt          = wa_zrfc_read_table-gwldt
        serge          = wa_zrfc_read_table-serge
        typbz          = wa_zrfc_read_table-typbz.
        endloop.
        commit work.
    NOw my problem is that although I am able to send a table with a single record, but when my records > 1, it is not able to poll.
    Please guide me what can be altered in the code or any other suggestion.
    Thanks,
    Puneet

    Hi,
    Instead of calling RFC many times I would:
    1) create RFM with only one import parameter
    TYPE your_table type
    2) call only once RFM in the report:
      CALL FUNCTION 'ZRFCNAME'
        IN BACKGROUND TASK
        DESTINATION 'RFCDEST'
        EXPORTING
          pt_table = i_table.
      COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
    This will also improve the performance.

    Jakub

    I think the problem is in jdbc
    but exhausted my ideas on how to fix
    this
    where:
    ODI already reinstalled 11
    checked path in SO (JAVA_HOME, ODI_JAVA_HOME am using C: \ Program Files \ Java \ bin \ jdk1.6.0_23)
    ORACLE_CLASSES am using C: \ oracle \ product \ 10.2.0 \ client_1 \ jdbc \ lib \ ojdbc14.jar
    and
    ORACLE_HOME is using C: \ oracle \ product \ 10.2.0 \ client_1
    My OS is windows vista business (the client machine odi11)
    connecting to the database oracle11
    have any suggestions for a procedure, something that did not, forgot or did not even know.
    Thank you.

    Hi Ankit Jain
    yes it's the second option,
    exactly the error occurs when I click the icon to select the repository of work - work_dev
    then this exception is generated
    =
    I select for the field
    Drivers List -
    the value >> Oracle JDBC Driver
    and then is placed in the Driver Name field
    value>> oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
    and after I put a URL
    jdbc: oracle: thin: @ (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = sss.rrr3.ttttj.ggg.br) (PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = RRR3) ))
    It should say
    that
    This is occurring on a machine, but others the same configuration is working
    I think it's something of the environment on this machine,
    but no longer know what to test
    grateful for your attention.

  • HELP:Problem in creating a temporary CLOB using JDBC connection pooling

    Hi All,
    i am inserting a large xml document in an xml type column by creating a temporary clob of this document
    tempClob = CLOB.createTemporary(conn, true, CLOB.DURATION_SESSION);
    I am not having any success getting the following statement working using a JDBC connection pool rather than a hard coded URL connection
    it works with:
    "jdbc:oracle:thin:@server:port:dbname" connection
    Does NOT work with:
    datasource.getConnection()
    Does any one know how to successfully get this to work?
    urgently plz........

    Hi Dharmi
    Here is a quote of Dafna's post in [another thread in this forum|Re: Copy VC controls]
    CE7.1.1 will be released at September 2008 for ramp-up customers.
    There are many improvements and new capabilities in the new release of Visual Composer for CE7.1.1. Among the new features you can find:
    The missing features from Visual Composer 7.0 (Html view, portal Eventing support (EPCM), JDBC, Undo/Redo, and more..)
    Many layout & modeling improvements
    Additional ALV table functionality - export to Excel, switch to chart, configure ALV behavior at design time
    Integration of Visual Composer in Eclipse - additional entry point to the Visual Composer models from the NWDS. This integration provides the option to add a WD component (in case of missing functionality in Visual Composer), as a black box component to the Visual Composer model. Right-clicking the component will open the Web Dynpro perspective for creating/modifying the component.
