Want to abandon packages in the AUR interface, but lost my password.

Some people suggested to adopt some of my (out of date) packages, but I can't log in the AUR interface to abandon theses packages. What should I do ?

I tried to post to that list but my message is still on hold and waiting for a moderator approval (It's been more than a month), because I'm not member of the list.
I have no intention to become a member of that list, and people are waiting to adopt my packages.
It's a shame, there should be a way for TU to orphan packages without any action from the author of the PKGBUILD.

I've got a few -vcs packages in the AUR (one hg, 3 svn). Do I need to manually update the versions in the AUR as the code changes, or does this happen automatically? I know that makepkg updates the version automatically in the local PKGBUILD, but I want to make sure the people using these packages see the new versions in the AUR.

Can I not upload a split package to the AUR? I am getting an error when I try to upload this PKGBUILD source package:

I watched the new itunes tutorial, and if you double click on the blank part of the bar that says music, videos, apps, etc, a button will show with your ipod's name.

Why don't you talk to apple and find out if backup exists? That conversation with apple will stop your guessing.

I did read what you posted, and will point out once more - the organised bookmarks were kept, the unsorted - the majority - were lost. I tried accessing them THROUGH sync as I couldn't find them before I started sync and thought that might help. Really didn't. Sync was only loaded with version 6, never used it on 3. Updated from 3 to 6; tried to find bookmarks. All unsorted ones GONE. accessed sync; no bookmarks. went back to three. never shifting again, version 6 is a quick trip to hell. Should have known not to trust the program to preserve bookmarks, blame myself for being so bloody stupid to trust it to keep my information safe. Moral: always save multiple backups.

Grub2 theme packages in the AUR don't work [SOLVED]

I have grub2 installed as per the wiki page. I can't get the distroballs theme working, just an endless string of reboots.
EDIT: Nevermind - it would seem as though all the themes in the AUR were written before the grub2 1.98 package made it into [extra] and require a package that has been removed from the AUR.

I just noticed the same thing. Hope they plan to update them.

Usability issue with the AUR interface

Particularly with commenting, voting, and deleting comments. When you do any of these actions, the page simply tells you that what you have done was successful. To increase usability, wouldn't it be smart (and simple) to provide a link to the user to go back to the page they were at, i.e. the package's AUR page? It's something small that could make the AUR a lot more friendly to the user.

The AUR source code is here, if you would like to have a look through it and submit a patch for the above. If not, browse the AUR's bug tracker and submit a feature request, if it's not already there.
The forum is not the best place for these things, because there's no guarantee that the right dev, or any dev, will see it.

Lots of arch=('armv6h') package in the AUR [SOLVED]

I see many threads get closed if asking for help on ARM systems so I think it is not allowed. Is it allowed?

Support here on the BBS is offered only to Arch-proper—that is, not any of its derivatives (including, but not limited to, those projects which offer support for other platforms). Having said that, the AUR is 100 percent unsupported (by anyone other than the maintainer) anyway, so if a PKGBUILD allows for an unsupported architecture, that shouldn't be a big deal.

Sun x4170 ILOM - Can't get to the web interface 2 days after password reset

Just bought a used x4170. I was able to get iLOM on the network and get to the web interface logon screen after setting the IP for it.
I tried logging on but the password was not given to me. So I connected to the serial interface (rj45) from another machine and used putty to connect. Got to the preboot point and was able to reset the password to default, Rebooted.
I was then able to log into iLOM. That was 2 days ago. Today for some reason, I can't get into iLOM. It pings but I can't get to the web interface. I get the IE error "cannot connect" or unable to connect or something like that.
I'm completely new to this brand of server so consider me completely ignorant on all aspects of the hardware.......lol

By default, you connect to the server’s service processor (SP) using the out-of-band network management port (NET MGT). The ILOM sideband management feature enables you to select either the NET MGT port or one of the server’s Gigabit Ethernet ports (NET 0, 1, 2, 3), which are in-band ports, to send and receive ILOM commands to and from the server SP. In-band ports are also called sideband ports.

I want to sync it to the original library bc that is the one that has all songs. It keeps giving me a library with just songs that I have bought on itunes. I never created a new library so I am not sure why it is doing this. How do I get it to sync to my original library? I have already tried to restore a previous version of itunes but that did not help.

It appears that something happened to yur computer/iTunes files. It happens sometimes. To recovery:
- Import the old music into the current iTunes library
- Make sure all the apps are also in the library
- If in the USA and therplaces where iCloud has benn released you can redownload most iTunes puchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- You can always redownload apps at no additional cost as long as you are singned into the same iTunes account the originally purchased them.
- After all the suff in in the iTunes library, make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes.
- Restore the iPod from backup and restore as necessary.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.0.4. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
You can no longer update to iOS 6.x, or down grade the iOS.

How to Upgrade to iOS 7

There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

Lock Screen notification center - I want messages to show in the N/C but not on the actual lock screen itself. Any way to do this?

In ios7, is there any way to have incoming text messages show up in the notification center on the lock screen but not pop up on the actual lock screen itself? I cant get this combination to work and it seems like it shoud. The text notificaitons do not show at all on the L/S notification center unless I choose the allow on lock screen option. But this not only puts it in the L/S notification center but also adds it to the lock screen itself. I dont want it to do both.

Your email accounts will not actually be reset. The only things that will get reset if you hit reset settings will be your homescreen and lockscreen (your pictures will still be on your phone they just default back to the initial ones), the size of your text, the sounds you use for text messages and ringtones (any of the ones that you have specifically customized for certain contacts will not be reset it's only the ones that you use for yourself) and a couple other minor things. None of the apps that you have to set up personall as in facebook or twitter will reset. I really recommend do this, nothing major will get reset on the phone it's just some minor settings. Just make sure to hit 'Reset All Settings' and NOT 'Reset All Content And Settings'.
I've also tried it with messages app specifically after I hit 'Reset All Settings' and it works like a charm. No messages pop up on my screen but I can access and preview in the notification center without having to unlock my phone.

Try the following.
Using another PC, download the application on the following link and save it to your Downloads folder.
PC Login Now
When the download has completed, open your Downloads folder and double-click the installer - this will result in another file appearing which is the disc image ( .ISO ) that you need to burn to a blank CD.
You will now need to use an application such as ImgBurn to burn this ISO correctly to a blank CD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.
When the disc has been created, shutdown the PC you can't log-in on, tap away at the esc key as soon as you press the power button to access the Start-up Menu, insert the CD, select Boot Options ( usually f9 ), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and hit enter - you may also have to 'Press any key' to boot from the CD if asked.
Follow the instructions on the guide Here to remove the current password.
