Want to create a workflow

I want to create a workflow in a task list wherein if a user do not complete the task assigned to him within given date I and a couple of others users should receive email alerts.
Please let me how to do it...I am using SharePoint Online 2013 and new to it so not familiar with SharePoint. I tried creating a workflow from the task list but no luck. I am not familiar with using SharePoint designer so if someone could help me with
steps it would be really helpful.

Hi Charlie,
For common issues, you could firstly calculate the number of days between created date and due date, then set workflow to pause until due date, and check task status, finally decide whether to send reminder.

    Is it possible to terminate this reminder loop with a event.In the dummy task we have the option for terminating event.i tried this but the loop is terminating only if i approved in business workplace.
    is it posible to terminate  the reminder loop without goning to business workplace.
    when i am creating terminating event the error is comming as
    "Indicator "Event Parameter" missing in BOR method DUMMY".

    I don't use Automator, but the following Applescript will do it:

    Actually the last three lines by themselves would probably do it. Of course if any of the applications have open unsaved documents then you will get the usual dialog about do you want to save them.

  • Creating a Workflow to print PDFs with certain attributes

    I work in the media dept of a college and am looking for an easier way to print students coursework which they export from Adobe Indesign CS4 as a PDF file.
    I have managed to enable printing all PDFs on Tabloid extra paper from my network printer, by setting the default print settings. I have the printer in my dock so all I need to do is drag the PDFs in a folder to the printer icon on the dock and it prints all PDFs.
    This is great, however I would like to have more control over this process. If possible I would like to print only the PDFs that have a certain format.
    The students are supposed to export there PDFs from Indesign with the "spreads" checkbox checked. This produces a document that has a number of A4 sized pages in portrait and 1 A3 sized page in landscape.
    I want to know if there is anyway of printing of the correctly formatted PDFs, whilst skipping the incorrectly formatted PDFs, without having to go through all the PDFs and check the formatting before printing?
    Any help or ideas on this would be great.

    I managed to create a workflow that can be started automatically upon the creation of a folder in my document library. I then added an Impersonation step where I used the "Remove list Item Permissions" & "Add List Item Permissions" actions.
    The challenge I am faced with is on the Remove Permissions action, I want to remove all inherited permissions for all existing users and only leave Users with Full Control. Is there a way to select All Existing Users in one function and perhaps
    pass that as a "Selected Users" parameter? Currently I have to select the users/groups individually and there are over 100 existing users/groups to choose from.
    Any thoughts on how I can work around this?

  • Creating a workflow to give permissions to a SharePoint folder using Impersonation Step

    Hi There,
    I have been tasked with creating a workflow in my organise that will allow our users with (Contributor access) to grant people access upon creating a folder in our Shared Documents library.
    Currently when our users create a folder, they need to logged a call with site administrators to granted the relevant people access to the folder and its contents.
    Is it possible to create a solution that will kick off automatically upon creation of a folder and allow the Creator Only to grant a subset of users permissions to the folder using the Impersonation Step?
    Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

  • How do i create a workflow to delete tasks.

    I've created a workflow that will take the Title, Start Date, and End Date from one list (roomReserved) and then create a task on another list (centralCal) setup as a central calendar. When a yes/no checkbox is checked, it will then create the task on the
    centralCal. The problem I'm having right now is i am unable to remove or delete the task created in centralCal when the checkbox is unchecked.
    I way I'm trying to delete the task in the workflow is:
    if current item:checkbox equals no
    then delete item in centralCal
    in the "Choose List Item" popup menu
    I choose List:centralCal
    Find the List Item:
    Field: Title
    Value:
    Lookup for Single line of text (popup)
    Data source: Current Item
    Field from source: Title
    Return field as: string (greyed out)
    To make sure the correct item is deleted I'm comparing the titles from the roomReserved and centralCal.
    What I want the workflow to do is delete the task from centralCal if the checkbox is unchecked from roomReserved. Any idea's on how to change my workflow to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    I tried reproducing the issue in my environment. I created a list1 with two column: title and checkbox, a list2 with one column: title.
    I created two workflows in SharePoint Designer: workflow1, if current item checkbox field equals yes, create item in list2, title= current item title. Workflow1 start automatically when an item is created.
    Workflow2: if current item checkbox field equals no, delete item in list2. Choose List Item is set as below, and workflow2 starts automatically when item is changed.

    You cannot burn your high resolution video that you can view on your computer to an AVCHD on DVD disc
    that will replay through a regular DVD player. But players are marketed under a variety of names with
    different support opportunities. One manufacturer may call its product MultiMedia Player, media player, Blu-ray player,
    etc.The bottom line is the specifications for each of the players that are candidates for the playback of
    the AVCHD format on DVD disc or the format of interest.
    If you upload your HD (1920 x 1080) video to YouTube, YouTube converts the video to flash format, but it goes up as the HD video.
    But, beware. Look at the YouTube viewing setting when your uploaded video is playing back. The YouTube default is not
    HD. It might be 360p, 480p. If you have a 1080p video, then before the YouTube playback, you should be looking
    at the video with the YouTube 1080p HD setting for best viewing. That is a YouTube matter.
    Best results depend on you
    a. setting up the Premiere Elements project preset to match the properties of the source media. That means, if
    you have 1080p source, you (manually) or the project (automatically) set the project preset at
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR [email protected]
    or the PAL counterpart, depending on your region need.
    b. if you upload your video to YouTube using the Premiere Elements feature, there is a HD preset, but you cannot
    customize it.....if you need customization, then you can export your Timeline to a file...in this example
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    with Presets = MP4 H.264 1920 x 1080p30 or PAL counterpart
    and then customize the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of that preset. In increase quality, you might look to increase
    the Bitrate under Advanced Button/Video Tab settings - without compromising the file size.
    Then you would upload that file to YouTube at the YouTube web site.
    All of the above are factors that need looking into in order to determine the why for what you wrote
    I have published a shortened advertisement video to YouTube- say 5 minutes-
    and it is low quality
    Often SD video upscaled to HD can present poorly. But, you are dealing with a HD workflow so that should not be introduced into the matter. The setup of the project and
    the properties of the source video are important, but let us start with the above and rule in or out those considerations first.

  • Create a workflow that pulls data from a list based on a person in the list and emails that person

    I am trying to create a workflow in SharePoint 2010 using SharePoint Designer. 
    I have a list [ExceptionList] of users each associated with a sponsor.  A sponsor can have multiple users aligned to them.  I need to create a workflow which emails the sponsor with their associated users.
    Example:
    John, Bill, and Kelly are listed with Bob as their sponsor.  I'd like an email sent that will pull the names of John, Bill, and Kelly into the email so that Bob can validate that he is still their sponsor.
    I know how to create the basic workflow email, but am not sure how to pull in the related names into the body of the email.  I assume I will need to build a string.
    Anyone know how to achieve this?

    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use workflow to send an email to the sponsor with the users’ names who are belonging to the sponsor.
    I recommend to create another list to store the users’ names who are belonging to the sponsor and then email the sponsor with the values in the list.
    In my test, I created another list called test list and created two columns: user(store users’ names) and Sponsor(store sponsor’s name). Fill the list with all the sponsors and leave user field as blank.
    After that, create another workflow associated with the ExceptionList to get all the users’ names who are belonging to a sponsor to fill in the user field in the test list and set the workflow to start when an item is created.
    And then you can send email with the value in the user field in test list to the sponsor.

    Layers... roto, keying, distort, blur, blend modes.
    I have no idea what the speed morph effect is but if I had footage of me in a suit and I wanted me to do something I'd have to separate me from the background (layers, roto, keying) then distort (many plug-ins do this) blur, and add some blend modes to make me morph...
    As Todd said, without an understanding of the how After Effects works, you haven't got a chance unless you find a specific tutorial for this effect that gives you a precise step by step. Here's another link to a little different approach to the Basic Workflow.

    If you want to Place certain actions after status change of a transaction, it's better to do this with an action profile and a condition for that action:
    In Solman check SPRO path:
    CRM>Transactions>Basic settings-->Define transaction types
    In this activity double click the transaction type to find out what the action profile is:
    Now go to:
    CRM>Basic functions>Actions>Actions in transactions>Change actions and conditions-->Define action profiles and actions
    Here you can add an action definition on the action profile, this can be methods, workflow or in your case a smartform mail.
    If the action profile is a SAP standard (doesn't begin with Z) it is advisable to copy the standard. Also, this is more of a CRM/Solman consultant issue, so you may have to involve such a consultant
    Now go to
    CRM>Basic functions>Actions>Actions in transactions>Change actions and conditions-->Define Conditions
    Here you can add conditions which will cause the action to be executed.
