Want to freeze a set of pages on a button event...

Hi all,
I have Requirement where I need to freeze(Not accessible for that day) the Pages for that day....
Procedure is
The client has been provided access to 4 OAF Pages daily...
They are all custom pages He does the intended action on those pages and close the form..
On entering the last page that is 4th.
He should have a button similar to "DAY CLOSURE"
On entering the specified details in to the last form he has to close the day....
That should make all the 4 pages inaccessible for that day...
Any suggestions are appreciated....

           Well , it's little tricky but pretty much doable , on click of a button ( DAY CLOSURE as per your requirement ) do the following
         1) get the current date (sysdate ) and save it in a custom table .
          2 ) save the above sysdate in a formvalue ( itemstyle )
          3) Next time when the page renders , again get the sysdate and value which is being saved in the formvalue
          4 ) compare the two values , if those two dates are equal then hide webbeans programatically in processRequest of your controller
                and display a message to the user highlighting page can't display any information for today .
          5) Hiding webbean will actually appears page to be inaccessible .
        Note : It's very difficult to make the page inaccessible , the above given solution would pretty much meet your requirement .

Browser opens to properly set home page. Tabs open to a different home page. what is the fix to get tabs to open to the home page I want.

I have firefox 24.0 in xp . for some time i have been using firefox with no problems. and i think i recently update to the current version. went my problem started I think was when I tried to download a video downloader. my home page was changed even tho I did a custom install. May home page was switched. after much trial and error I managed to get the home page I wanted when the browser first opens. but when I hit the tab button some home page opens that I dont recognise. and it does that for each addition tab that I open. it does this only when I open a tab. I have read several of the related questions here but there a waste of time because I am not a techie.
looked at the about:config thing but finding the right thing to even begin to look at was impossible. I dont recognise any of the thing in there and I dint understand how to search for the thing it said search for. this is the instructions I tried to follow:

Also make sure that the new tab page is enabled, the browser.newtabpage.enabled should be true.
Type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key to open the about:config page, just like you open a website by typing the URL in the location bar.
If you see a warning message then you can confirm that you want to access the about:config page.

what preference am I searching for? I tried searching for browser.newtab.url and came up blank. search for just browser came of with too many for me to make judgment on.
This was very confusing and i could not figure it out until the asker came back and said it worked and something else that I cant find now. i think the answers should be dumbed down to where non-techies can understand. my problem is solved

You can change this if you don't mind peeking under the covers into Firefox's about:config preferences editor.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste newtab and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.newtab.url preference and enter the desired value:
(i) Page thumbnails (default)
browser.newtab.url = about:newtab
(ii) Blank tab
browser.newtab.url = about:blank
(iii) Built-in Firefox home page
browser.newtab.url = about:home
(iv) Any other page
browser.newtab.url = full URL to the page
Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?

"Headers" is short for "Continuing Headers."
Use a Header when you want recurring information on a series of pages in your document.
If ii, iii, etc. are page numbers, you can place them in Headers using Insert > Page Number, then formatting the page number to lower case Roman numerals.

In Pages 5.2, how does one set different page widths (margins) in different sections?

You can't. Margins apply to the entire document.
What you can do is set the margins to their max width and then use left and right indents for the sections you want narrower.

I don't know how to do a search for this question, and I've exhausted my time with this....someone please help!!
My site will be an online store, so far selling only one thing, but several different styles of that thing. I have five category pages (silk, satin, lace, etc), many of which have been through different spry layouts trying to find the right one (I've never used Spry, it wasn't covered in class, and I'm floundering). Each category page has a few styles, each one with an image, price, item number and "more info" link to open the detail page.Basically, what I want is similar to the Master/Detail layout, only I want the detail info to open in its own page, not the same one as the Master info (my category page). After giving up on finding out how to get a data set to cover multiple pages, I tried to run a new "Insert / Spry Data Set" on each detail page, assigning a unique div for each row (the div id being the item number, and the tr being nested within the div)....seems to work, but I lose my column names...they all default to "Column 0, Column 1, etc etc".
The whole point of my trying this Spry thing was to save time....JEESHHH!
I am perfectly willing to put in writing my eternal gratitude for any and all help.

In the absence of an online URL to your site which would allow us to give a tailor made solution, I shall try to explain the procedure to do what you have described.
On the master page have an onlclick event that opens a new page complete with a URL variable. The variable will be used to identify the detail that is required.
On the products page grab the URL variable using SpryURLUtils and use that value to set the XPath to the required detail as per http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/data_region/FilterXPath_with_params.html
A better way is to place the detail in an AP which is hidden until a master entry is clicked on and can be hidden with a close button, similar to a Lightbox. This is easier to program and is more pleasing for the user.
You could also use Alex July's SpryPopUpWidget which can be found here http://linecraft.com/spry-pop-up-dialog/extension.php. I have used this on numerous occasions to house my forms.

What I meant is turn off Documents and Data in iCloud in OS X. Keep it on on your iOS devices. iCloud will sync documents between the iOS devices and make them available on the iCloud web site, but it won't mess up iWorks' open and save dialog boxes. It also won't assume that you want all your documents in iCloud, which I think is undesirable anyway.
Keep iOS and OS X separate, and use the web site to move files between the two as necessary.
iOS iWork is different from OS X iWork. There are fewer fonts on an iOS device. iOS iWork programs have slightly different feature sets than OS X iWork programs, and the file formats are different. iCloud automatically converts the file format when necessary, but if you make a habit of saving things directly to iCloud, you are limited to the lowest common denominator between the two versions of iWorks. So why would anyone want iWork on the Mac to open and save documents on iCloud by default?
If you want to store files in the cloud and sync them on your Macs, SugarSync is a much better solution. It lets you choose your sync folders, it doesn't make you reorganize your files, it lets you sync all file types, it doesn't convert files to a different format and back, and it stores everything in the cloud, too. Just the simle act of saving a file backs it up and syncs it. I wouldn't live without it. iCloud is best with iTunes purchases and synchronizing Mac settings and iOS files; I woudln't live without it. The two make an unbeatable combination.

An app changed it to some other search engine, before installing the app, I the tab that would open was the homepage I set.
In my case it is Google, and I want my new tabs to open on Google like they did before the installation.

You can middle-click or Ctrl left-click the Home button on the Navigation toolbar to open the Home page in a new tab.

How do I set the Page size default in Adobe Reader using Window 8?

I need to set the page size everytime I go to print from my Adobe Reader in my windows 8. Is there a way to set the page I want letter (8.5 by 11) as a default? So I do not have to do this everytime I print something?

I can't help but wonder why Adobe doesn't respond to this - at this point there are 464 views of this item and still no answer. I have the same problem and it's a big irritation to have to set the duplex mode everytime I want to print!

How do I get the little messages to show up again in my browser window telling me a website wants to reload or forward my page, do I allow?

As I surf from website to website, up at the top of the browser window (but before the toolbar) a little notice was showing up asking me if I wanted to allow the website to redirect (forward) my page. It would also tell me that a webpage wanted to reload. There was a little "allow" button at the top left and also at the top left there was a little "x". I accidentally clicked that "x" and it hid that little notice thingy. I can't figure out how to get it back. I'm brand new to Firefox so please forgive my ignorance on this. Btw, Firefox is awesome. ;-)

The setting in "Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

All fields in InDesign can be entered in any measurement system. So, if you want to make an 8"x10" document and go to File>New Document and the window looks like this:
…you can type either 8 in or 8" into the Width field like this:
…and when you move to the next field, it will convert the eight inches into the equivalent number in the unit of measure that it is using at the moment, like this:
… (203.2 milimeters is the same as 8 inches). You can also enter a different measurement unit into other fields once the file is created, such as the width or height of a frame, or the position of an object in the X and Y coordinates.
If you would rather just work in inches instead of having to type the inches mark or abbreviation, go to InDesign>Preferences>General and select the Units & Increments tab. There you will see Ruler Units for Horizontal and Vertical at the top of the window. Set them to Inches and all of the fields will display in inches. If you do that to an open document, you will change the unit of measure for that document. If you do it while no documents are open, it will change the unit of measure for any new documents you create. To change the unit of measure for existing documents, you will have to open each and make the change.

Acrobat 9 Pro- Link to a Specific Set of Pages

I appologise if this has been asked before but I searched and searched and could not find anything.
In short, we have a 300+ page PDF catalogue which is going to be put onto USB sticks. The catalogue has an Index at the back, and we'd like users to be able to click on a product in the index then be presented with only the specific pages that are relevent. For example, if you click Apples in the Index, then only pages 4, 10 and 102 with Apples on, open.
We've had this done in Flash before but want to stay away from anything that complex. Is there away to achieve this in Acrobat? The only thing I can think of is saving a seperate document, e.g. "Apples" which has only pages 4, 10 and 102 then create a link from the index to open this seperate PDF document. However, this will impact greatly on file size on the USB.
Any advice would be greatfully recieved. Also, if there is another less complex way of only calling up specific pages that may be easier than this that would be great, I cannot think anymore!

Only if the users are using Acrobat, not Reader. Then you could extract the pages with a script and present them in a new (temporary) file.
If they use Reader your only option is to create the set of pages in advance and then open them when the link is clicked, but that would take more space, like you mentioned.

How do I set what page will open up when I click new tab?

I just downloaded something from the internet and ASK is now my default page when I open up a new tab. I managed to set what page I wanted when I open up the browser, but when I am in the browser and I click NEW TAB it goes back to ASK. Any ideas?

You may need to remove an Ask extension. You can check on the Add-ons page:
Tools menu > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions, then disable/remove unwanted (or unrecognized) extensions.
The actual address for the new tab page is a hidden setting. To adjust it:

Project Server workflow freezes on setting Project field

In Project Server 2013 I've created a workflow with the SharePoint Designer. I want the workflow to set the project stage status and then a Project Field. Setting the project stage status works fine, but when I insert the action of setting the project field
the workflow freezes and the Submit button is greyed out. Remove this action, re-publish the workflow and everything works fine. There are no required or read-only fields in the workflow stage and the custom field I want set is a plain project level custom
field with no special properties. It is not on any pdp, nor in any view, because I'm only using it for OData reporting. Setting the field as "workflow-controlled" doesn't make a difference. It is the same in Project Online. What am I missing?

Setting a project field should not be a problem or holding in anyway, what kind of field is it and what value is being provided ?

I want to show a discussion list within the welcome page of a document set. I thought that i could achieve this by creating a look up coloum on the discussion list that would contain the id of the document set. Then i would add the discussion list to
the welcome page of the document set and have the property web part of the document set send the document sets id to the discussion list - and thereby filter it so that it will only show the discussions that is related to current document set! (hope anyone
understands this!)
But i am not able to do this since the property web part does not allow connections! Does anyone know a way to do this?

You can customize the welcome page of a document set and add other web parts to it. I did this once to achieve something similar to what you're after, but the user ended up finding it too complicated. It was to display a list of related documents below the
properties of the document set, so I had a list containing the related documents and the ID of the document set to which they were related. The web part on the document set welcome page could then filter by that ID. But the user found it too hard to maintain
the list of relationships, so I no longer have a working example.
