Want to set up a video portfolio in iweb '09

I'm a camerawoman and filmmaker, wanting to post my sample reel clips online. I'd like to set it up where the thumbnail of the clip opens up a streaming video on the same page (not in a new page). An associate of mine has the same set up and she did it in iweb: http://kareygreen.com, so I know it's possible.
Can anyone help me figure this out?

It's an exercise to tame iWeb and to see what's possible.
And note that all the video samples are embedded with the HTML Snippet. The HTML Snippet is just a placeholder. The embedded pages (should) work on their own.

And yes, the way Google translates would not pass me my exams. Even I wasn't that bad at school. Though the translation isn't perfect, it isn't incomprehensible. The major keywords are the same in English. So give it a try.

Advice on setting up a video portfolio

My company has 50 flv files that we regularly show to clients. I was planning to set up a website that had all 50 videos on it and the client could pick and choose what videos they want to watch by selecting thumbnails. The problem is that our account executives want to be able to choose what videos are available for them to watch, so they can't watch the entire library. I can't be chaning the interface for each client request, so I am thinking the account excutive could select from a list of videos and send them a link that only has those thumbnails of those videos on it.
Any ideas on how this could be accomplished? It is kind of like having an interface for the account executives with a menu of movies, and then a different interface for the client to play the movies chosen for them in the order in which they choose. It would dynamically build according to the account executives selections.
If anyone can point me in a direction to start, that would be helpful. An example of something similar would be of even greater help.

Yeah its not really the kind of thing where you're gonna find a downloadable example. If you want help I could do it but it's going to take enough time that 10 points on a forum isn't gonna be worth it! lol. I can help if you want though PM me. Or, you if you've got time just start googling. You'll need:
A flash app that can post an XML playlist to PHP
a PHP script to catch XML and a user ID and write them to a database
a mysql database with a users table and a videos table. You'll either need to store the videos in the database as BLOB files or store URLS to the videos hidden somewhere in a folder that is world only readable
a php script that will accept a username and password, do a lookup of the user and return the XML map of availble videos they can watch
another php script that will accept a username and password and a video name, authenticate the request, lookup the file in the database or a reference to the file from the database and return the file in a stream back to flash.
and of course lastly you'll need the actual video player which will get ask the user to log in or get their credentials elsewhere and make requests to the above two php scripts.

Go to http://appleid.apple.com.
To clarify, the mere act of changing the Apple ID on the device will not remove any content. But you cannot update the apps or re-sync them if they get deleted without the old Apple ID. It may be best to download them again with the new ID.

IE: to make the videos play consecutively in the order i want without stopping after each video and gong back to the list.... this is what i have had to resort to make it work....what i want to do....is be able to make a playlist of videos on my iphone 5....take my apple tv to friends houses and with wifi....set up apple tv and play videos at the party and not have to stand by with the remote and find a new video to play stopping the music between the songs/videos....very annoying....and have spent over 4 hours one day and an hour and a half today on the phone today with a sr. advisor with apple and they have no clue.... this seems sooooo simple.... please somebody that really knows how to do this....i will be indebted forever...............

How do I set up streaming video using iWeb

Where can I get a straight forward guide to setting up a streaming video to my web site. I use iWeb to design and publish my web sites to mac.com. And I have a personal domain that I host on mac.com.
I want to set up a wireless web cam because location of my routers and iMac preclude a direct connection. I know that I need to have access to a video streaming server but do not know how to get this service.
I was hoping someone could recommend a good quality wireless web camera for less than $300. What additional software do I need on my iMac? Do I need to add code to my web site?
Really looking for a soup-to-nuts guide. I have tried connecting the dots on a lot of forum posts and have become very confused.

It all depends on your webcam what it can do.
Webcam streaming usually is nothing more than putting JPEGS on a server in rapid succession. Then the browserwindows refreshes to pick up the new image. That takes time, so an image refreshes every 20 seconds.
I also have seen JavaApplets that do basically the same.
One way or the other you have to set up a webpage that either refreshes the image or that embed a JavaApplet.
Your webcam has to have access to the server to upload the images.
It all depends on your webcam and the software that comes with it.
I once used [Evocam sofware|http://www.evological.com/evocam.html]. It is more advanced today.
You can use the HTML Snippet to embed either solution in an iWeb page.
Then practice.

Just want to record motion detect video with WVC80N

All I want to do is record motion detected video while I'm at work and view it when I get home. I don't want remote access and I don't care about email notifications. Does someone have some SIMPLE instructions for how to get this working? I've read many of the posts on this forum and found all kinds of complex setups involving multiple webpages and port forwarding, etc., etc. I just can't believe it's this complicated just to set up something simple. BTW -- I have no problem viewing live video either through the camera utility or via web browser. I can do instant recordings, but no motion detected video. IMHO the camera itself is great, but the support is pathetic. Camera utility program is terrible.

After doing all the procedure open up the utility and click on settings tab and click on browse and select the the destination where you want to save the recorded files..

IMovie '11 - Add custom vid-setting to several videos

Hi everybody,
I've started on a semi-heavy iMovie project. I want to give the same video-setting to several clips, but I can't find out how.
Since there is a dedicated "copy/paste"-button in iPhoto, I would find it quite natural, that you are able to do so with iMovie's video-settings on different video-clips.
Any suggestions?

Without speaking for others, I think most of the contributors here just enjoy helping others. My videos mainly comprise weddings, grandkids birthday parties, anniversaries and the like - most of which are too long for the web, and largely contain copyrighted music. Lately I've been playing around with the Trailers in iMovie '11, which are great fun. They also teach you to be more aware of short, sharp and shiny editing techniques - much like you've achieved. The templates really help in this area, but are a bit restrictive. I have quite a few on my Gallery, among other bits and pieces, but none of my longer stuff. I prefer not to publicise my Gallery here, as it's all mainly family related and some family members would rather I keep them private. I might try putting some on YouTube, if I can get permission that is.

A complication that I need to resolve is the fact that I am using Vmware
Fusion to be able to use Windows on my Mac. Now it seems that Time
Machine is not backing up my files
on that virtual Windows without additional configuration and my question
is whether you can advise me here or whether this is only a matter for
the Fusion virtual machine.

If you want to use Time Capsule you can.. you simply bridge it and plug it into the existing router.. wireless can be either turned off or used to reinforce the existing wireless.. eg use 5ghz in the TC which is much faster than your 2.4ghz.
You can also use a NAS.. many brands available but the top brands are synology, qnap and netgear readynas series. These will all do Time Machine backups although how well always depends on Apple sticking to a standard. There are cheaper ones.. I bought a single disk zyxel which was rebadged and sold through my local supermarket. It actually works very well for TM at least on Snow Leopard. Major changes were made in Lion and again ML so do not instantly think it will work on later versions. I haven't tried it yet with those versions.
Any external drive can be plugged into the mac. Use the one with the fastest connection or cheapest price according to your budget. USB2 drives are cheap and plentiful. But no where near as fast as USB3 or FW800. So just pick whichever suits the ports on your Mac. Interesting Apple finally moved to USB3 on their latest computers.
TM should exclude the VM partition file.. it is useless backing it up from Mac OS side.. and will slow TM as it needs to backup that partition everyday for no purpose.. TM cannot see the files inside it to backup just the changes.
You need to backup windows from windows. Use MSbackup to external drive.. if you have pro or ultimate versions you can backup to network drive. But MSbackup is a dog.. at least until the latest version it cannot restore the partition without first loading windows. There are about a zillion backup software versions for windows.. look up reviews and buy one which works for you. I use a free one Macrium Reflect which does full disk backups and is easy to restore.. to do incremental backups though you have to pay for it.

I have read multiple posts on how to do this and I am still confused.
Apple ID/ICoud:
We want to be able to monitor what they do, but do not want their devices linked to our emails/contacts/etc... Each kid has their own email account. So, from what I have read the best way to do this is to use our family Apple ID, but set them up with a separate iCloud account? Is this correct?
Reset/Restore/DFU:
To start fresh we have done multiple factory resets. I did one that someone said was a DFU and a plan ol' factory reset, etc... Not sure the difference. However, when I do that I get the "hello" screen and am able to start setting the phone up anew. However, when I go to set the phone up as an iPod I end with the same result.
So, here is what I am doing (tell me what I am doing wrong):
Hello Screen
Asks me to select language and selecting: English
Select Your Country or Region: United States
Choose a Wi-Fi Network: select my home wi-fi network
Enter password: entered my home wi-fi network password
Activiate iPhone - wants me to enter Apple ID and Passwordsays that this iphone is currently linked to an Apple ID (k*******@gmail.com). Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to set up this iPhone.
Location Services - I have enabled location services
Set Up iPhone
Set Up as New iPhone
Apple ID
Options are to sign in with your Apple ID or Create a Free Apple ID
Or I could "skip this step"
I signed in with my Apple ID
Terms and Conditions - Agree
iCloud - I can select either to use iCloud or Don't Use iCloud - I selected use iCloud
Find My iPhone - I can select either to use find my iPhone or to not - I selected use find my iphone
Once I do this it says iMessage and FaceTime and shows the following:
my email
my other child's cell phone number
and my husband's work phone number
This is where things do not make sense. I only want the phone set up with the current child's email address. Where did I go wrong?

There are a number of Apple services: iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, Game center, Find My iPad, etc.
Now, to share apps, music and books you need to have the same Apple ID:
iPad's Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > Your purchasing Apple ID.
For the other service, your wife should have her own Apple ID.
All she needs is a valid e-mail address, apply Apple ID below:

Hi,
If you want to maintain a Max and Min stock level, Maximum stock is shown straight away, you cannot find the Minimum field directly.
if you want to use MRP type PD then go for safety stock that will be your minimum stock level
or else use Re-order point planning, re-order point will be your minimum and Max-level as maximum.
