Warning Alert on Reminders (Triangle  !)

When I add a Reminder to iCal and make the Due Date the current day, I get the Warning Triangle that signifies that the entry is overdue. Before OS5 the entry wouldn't be shown as overdue until it actually was (i.e. the NEXT day).
Is anyone else experiencing this behavior or if you have and have figured it out, could you please let me know?
Charles

Here is my personal intuition about this. I think the new version of iCal in Mac OS 10.7 has a bug, in which the actual deadline of any reminder is ONE DAY BEFORE the date displayed. This would explain why iCal thinks the reminder is overdue. It could also explain the following two bugs I have reported to Apple:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/16391543#16391543
https://discussions.apple.com/message/16391376#16391376
Can you reproduce these bugs on your mac too?

  • View ALL upcoming alerts and reminders?

is there a function within iCal to view all upcoming alerts and reminders, in one single page to know your upcoming deadlines for the week or month or day?

    yes you can.
    go to PRINT.
    under View -> select "list"
make sure that you have set the TIME RANGE correctly. the default is the current date and it ends 1 day later, i.e. it only displays that date's reminders.
click the "up" arrows to increase the no. of days AFTER the current date, and you will find the preview displaying the following dates as you click.
u can even ZOOM to view the events themselves, and select the font sizes as well.

  • Online Archive Warning Alerts not being sent to Users

We have exchange 2010 SP3 Rollup 7 and we utilized Online Archive of Mailbox. Each user has 2 GB of Archive Quota and 1.5 GB of Archive Warning Quota. Users don't receive any warning alert if they exceeds Archive Warning Quota. I suspect this is default
    behavior in Exchange 2010.
Is there any change in this behavior in Exchange 2013 ?

Does user receive warning message via OWA?
    Ans. - No
How do you set the Archive Quota and Warning Quota?
    Ans. - It's
the same way you have mentioned, We have archivequota of 2 GB and ArchiveWarningQuota of 1.8 GB.
Generally, Warning Quota Alert works well, I find a blog on mailbox quota trouleshooting for your reference, hope it is helpful.
Ans. - Have you seen any archive warning quota email, I don't find any sample email
or reference for the same. Could you try to reproduce if you have any testing environment.

  • Manage my alerts and reminders not showing in personal settings in project server 2013

I as an administrator can see the Manage my alerts and reminders in personal setting in the server setting page. Other than administrators, no body else can view this option. For example, a user who is assigned to the team members group with the My task
category cannot see this in his personal settings on the server settings page. I have done the following security settings -
In the team members group, added this user
Added the My Task as the selected category in the team member group
In global permissions, have checked manage my notification and reminders, manage personal notification (basically set the permission with the team member template and selected the additional manage my notification option).
In the category settings for my tasks, I have added this user as the selected resource, added the group "team members" in the permissions sections.
With all these settings, the user is unable to see the manage my alerts and reminders in the personal settings!! What am I missing!!!!?!??!

Nikhil - I provided an answer in the Linked In forums, I am posting it here for those who do not use LinkedIn.
Have you looked at creating a link to the "My Alerts" avaialble from the "My Settings" page accesible from the drop down list displayed in the top right hand corner
in PWA when a person clicks on their displayed name? I Created a new Quick Launch item linking to this URL - http://servername/PWA/_layouts/15/mysubs.aspx and it works for me.
You will also probably find that the delegation error you encountered was due to the fact that the person you were acting on behalf of belongs to a group where the
Admin permission "Manage Notifications and Reminders" is not allowed - as this is an Administrator permission within Global Permissions it is likely most users will not be allowed to do this. This blog provides some useful comments against the sometimes opaque
    explanations provided in Microsoft documentation.

  • Alerts and Reminders in Project 2013 Online?

    Hi all,
Can Alerts and Reminders be set in Project 2013 online? Or is it only available for 'On Premise' environments.
    Thank you,
    SJ

Page can be accessed using the URL trick given by Pankaj above.
    https://servername.sharepoint.com/sites/pwa/_layouts/15/pwa/notification/self_notification.aspx
    But
setting it here does nothing. No email alerts. Can someone confirm if this is working or as Gary stated it is not available at all by any means.

Verify the user that used in integration is add to local administrators of SCVMM Server. Also did you check comment of Kevin in your link related to this issue "It is my opinion that this account should not be set to “less secure” which will distribute
the credential to all healthservices in the management group. I will research if we can limit the scope and distribution. Less Secure is not a good option for most customers and I am not sure why the product chose this for a default. This will cause a large
number of alerts to be sent from all your SCOM agents, where this credential cannot “Log on locally”. Generally, your SCVMM service account does not need, nor will it have, “Log on Locally” rights to all managed agents. If you see a ton of those alerts after
configuring SCVMM integration – this is why.
I personally recommend to set this to more secure, and then distribute the credential to all Hyper-V servers, the VMM server, and the SCOM server."

If the interface is in down state with being admin down, you will get this message. In that case it can be remedied by putting the interface administratively down.
If it is up, you may be having link loss issues (i.e . not enough light received to meet the design threshold of the optical transceiver). Investigate using "show interface te12/9 transceiver details" and check the receive optical power level.

Does turning off energy saver include never letting the display to sleep? A warning alerts me that its life might shorten... Thanks!
(I'm doing this for the recalibrating of the battery etc...)

It would shorten it's life if you leave it on year 'round. For the amount of time to calibrate the battery won't hurt it.

  • MIssing image quality warning!? (yellow triangle !)

so in photo 10, when adding low quality / low resolution images to my books or calendars, i used to get a yellow triangle warning me that the quality is not good enough. i also got the warning when enlarging a photo beyond a certain point.
since upgrading to iphoto 11, i can NEVER get this warning to show up?
even when i place obviously low quality / low resolution images, and i enlarge them, I don't see that icon?! no matter what i do, the icon doesn't come up!
has Apple removed this warning? does everyone have it except me? is it an option to turn on and off? this is driving me crazy!

I just spent a week creating my annual family calendar in iPhoto '11, didn't see the yellow low-quality image warning triangles from past iPhoto versions and assumed all the photos were decent enough to publish. Boy was I wrong. When I went to order the calendars, during the assembly process I kept getting low-quality image messages, but it only gave the name of the photo file and stopped processing at that page. It didn't show me what photo it was, so I had to figure out which image it was by using "spotlight" and entering the file name. What a pain in the ***.
Once I fixed the offending image, I had to start the entire order process over again, reconfirm payment and shipment information, only to keep getting a low-quality image error message again, and again, and again. It couldn't have saved all the poor-quality images messages for 1 message, so I could fix all the problematic images at once and only have to resubmit the order once. No, it only told me image by image, page by page, if there was a problem, causing me to have to resubmit my order 7 times. It took me 45 minutes to finally order my calendar. I am not happy. I've been ordering my calendars through iPhoto since 2008 and have never had this much difficulty with image-quality messages and order processing.
The photos that caused the error messages were those that other people had sent me that weren't very good quality, and that I had edited once placed in the calendar. Once I deleted the edited version and replaced with the original version, I didn't get an error message. If the image was just too poor quality to begin with and I couldn't use the edited version, then I replaced it altogether.
I just don't know if anyone else has had this much trouble with uploading and ordering their calendars. I hope Apple reinstates the low-quality image warning system that tells us BEFORE we try to place an order which images may have problems. Or at least just give us ONE error message after assembling the calendar that includes ALL the offending images (including the thumbnails, not just the file names), so we don't have to go back over and over and over again and have the ordering process be so incredibly frustrating.

  • Report showing Critical/Warning alerts in New resolution state 1 day old

Hi,  Has anyone come up with a SQL query that will pull this information correctly - there are a few other posts I've read that mentioned the perculiarity that resolution state isnt updated on original alert and instead 'pairs' of alerts ar created
with one having the new state (0) and the associated one with the closed state(255).  I'm aware the active alerts are stored in OpsDB and then groomed to DataWarehouse, and its a bit of a minefield to know where to pull the various properties from - I've
seem some examples with very complicated joins between the various tables.
I am also wondering where the console gets the 'Age' property of an alert (In Monitoring Pane), is it held in one of the tables Which I can directly reference or is it a calulates field which the console displays/formats as days/hours.
A version of the script I'm hacking away with is as below - it gives me some of the detail but not sure how to get it to display the specific criteria needed (Critical/Warning in state New > 1 day old).  If anyone can supply a working script (for
SCOM 2012R2 it would be greatly received!!)

With no result. Any ideas about how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks!

    Hi Olegmg,
When a quota has been exceeded, there is no specific action required other than reducing the scope or number of operations requested of the provider hosted in the WMIPRVSE process. Event ID 5612 lists the PID of the WMIPRVSE
process that hosted the provider that exceeded the quota.

  • Set all rules in mp or for a class to trigger warning alerts only

I'm looking for a way to force all rules in class or mp to trigger warnings only. Our enterprise monitoring system picks up a critical from SCOM and pages us. We want to reset everything in the mp's that we are in charge of to warn only then bump them up

  • Changing Low Battery Warning Alerts

I would like to change the system settings that concern the low battery warnings. My goal would be to create a new alert OR change the low battery alert to go off when the battery charge reaches 1%. How would I go about doing this?
    Thanks

My MacBook Pro tells me approximate battery life left in the top info bar - doesn't that do it for you? I'd hate to have a pack go down to 1% - that's just too close for comfort (grin).

  • Firefox warns about closing tab so as not to loose the content, can I disable this?

I have various browsing sessions, one is for email, one for studies etc. With one of the browsing sessions when I try to close a tab, firefox asks if I really want to close this tab, because for some reason it thinks I'm writing a message. This is really starting to get on my nerve, not because of firefox, but because of the website that triggers these popups.
Is there a way to disable these?
I've trying so hard to find an answer, so I would be really grateful for your help!
    Blessings,

That is caused by a script that run on the page and is triggered by an onbeforeunload event
    *https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/window.onbeforeunload
    *https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/window.onunload
You probably can't disable such a warning alert, but you can check if you can find a Greasemonkey script to disable such an event
    *void(onbeforeunload = null);
