Warning: /lib/modules/3.14.17-1-lts/modules.devname not found

I am trying to use linux-lts but get this error, I'm using rEFInd. I am able to boot the standard arch kernel, but when selecting the other entry in refind I just get the error.
Warning: /lib/modules/3.14.17-1-lts/modules.devname not found - ignoring
The file does exist though.

I sorted it, though not exactly as I want it. I had to change the initrd line in /boot/refind_linux.conf to be initramfs-linux-lts.img, I had previously copied the boot line and created a new one with that initrd line, but that didn't work. As I have things now I can only boot the lts kernel, if I want to change to the other I need to manually change that line before rebooting.

  • Modules.devname not found after Kernelupdate

    Hello everyone,
my system broke after the latest kernel update, now i get the following when booting:
Warning: /lib/modules/3.14.0-4-ARCH/modules.devname not found - ignoring
ERROR: device '[UID]' not found Skipping fsck
And im dropped in a recovery shell, where I cannot even type. I will prepare a live CD, but don't know yet what to do, as i did not found much on google or in the forums, so I would be happy for any help.

falconindy wrote:That doesn't make sense. If you deleted the preset, how can you tell mkinitcpio to use the preset?
I meant delete it, reinstall mkinitcpio and kernel and run the command.

    Regards,
    Vikrant Korde.

    1. yum install zlib.i686
    2. restart your machine.
    3. try your command again.
Seriously?  This is not Windows, no need to reboot:
    # yum install zlib.i686
    # ldconfig
    Try your command again
    No muss, no fuss.

  • Module vbox* not found; Virtualbox; additions [RESOLVED]

    I'm running arch in virtualbox.
And first, I installed virtualbox-archlinux-additions from repository by pacman and everything worked fine, except a little problem.
So I thought (altough it's not recommended) installing virtualbox guest additions from virtualbox (host).
    ERROR:
    WARNING: Module vboxguest not found.
    WARNING: Module vboxsf not found.
    WARNING: Module vboxvideo not found.
I tried pacman -S {linux linux-lts and xorg-*; mesa and virtualbox-archlinux-additions}, then modprobe vboxsf vboxguest vboxvideo, still the Not Found error.

Is the Archlinux you are working with in a virtual machine?  If so, you want to install virtualbox-archlinux-modules.

  • "lib/libfreebl3.so: version `NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' not found"!!

I'm trying to setup Sun Java System Web Server7.0 on the fedora11. And then I have a problem with "configuration failed".
    I get the error massage:
    **Apr 25, 2011 7:33:38 PM com.sun.web.admin.configurator.ConfigureServer main**
**WARNING: /sun/webserver7/lib/libadminjni.so: /sun/webserver7/lib/libfreebl3.so: version `NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' not found (required by /lib/libcrypt.so.1)**
    **java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /sun/webserver7/lib/libadminjni.so: /sun/webserver7/lib/libfreebl3.so: version `NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' not found (required by /lib/libcrypt.so.1)**
I've already searched a lot on the internet, but still cannot found an appropriate method. Most people said it's because the version of libfreebl3.so in my installer package is too old.
I want to know the details about how to handle this.
    Thank you very much!!

I think this is a Fedora specific problem. I don't see this problem in Ubuntu.
Fedora has linked libcrypt.so with NSS libraries.
    $ ldd /lib64/libcrypt.so.1
    linux-vdso.so.1 => (0x00007fff555ff000)
    libc.so.6 => /lib64/libc.so.6 (0x00000030dfe00000)
    libfreebl3.so => /lib64/libfreebl3.so (0x00000030f0a00000)
    /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00000030dfa00000)
    libdl.so.2 => /lib64/libdl.so.2 (0x00000030e0200000)
Hence any application which links to libcrypt.so has to use Fedora's
    libfreebl3.so. (libcrypt.so wants a libfreebl3.so which is from
    NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3 library, not a generic libfreebl3.so)
Web Server links with libcrypt.so and indirectly links libfreebl3.so from OS.
This conflicts which libraries what Web Server 7.0.x ships. (libcrypt.so
doesn't like libfreebl3.so shipped with Web Server 7.0.x)
I could not think of any good solution for that so far.
One workaround would be to get a libcrypt.so compiled and copy in
<webserver_install_location>/lib but that is something not trivial.
IMHO, any application which links with libcrypt.so and has it's own version of
    libfreebl3.so won't work on Fedora.

  • [SOLVED] FATAL: module nvidia not found

    Hi
I have been working on setting arch up on my laptop the past couple of days. It's a Thinkpad T61 with an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M gpu.
I started with the nouveau driver and all was working fine, but I decided to switch to the propriatery driver to see if it had any better power saving features.
Well, I installed 'nvidia-utils 275.09.07' with pacman > ran 'nvidia-xconf' > reboot. All I got was a few GDM failed to start error messages.
So I start digging around the xorg log and what not, tried simply running startx. Turns out the 'nvidia' module is nowhere to be found.
    If I 'modprobe nvidia'
    FATAL: Module nvidia not found.
So I tinker with it a bit more with no results. Reinstalled a few times, even tried installing the latest beta driver from AUR. Then I just said to hell with it and did a fresh arch install.
Now I'm on a clean install. All I have done is sync and update with pacman, create a use and install X and the nvidia driver.
Run 'startx'. Same thing as before.
Where is that nvidia module supposed to be?
In /lib/modules/2.6.39-ARCH/modules.dep there is this line. I grepped 'nvidia' from it.
    kernel/drivers/video/nvidia/nvidiafb.ko.gz: kernel/drivers/video/fb_ddc.ko.gz kernel/drivers/i2c/algos/i2c-algo-bit.ko.gz kernel/drivers/video/vgastate.ko.gz kernel/drivers/i2c/i2c-core.ko.gz
And that nvidiafb file is there. Don't know if that is the right one.
Am I doing something horribly wrong here or is this a bug? I'm really not sure at this point.
Has anyone else been unlucky enough to have to deal with this issue?

Did you install nvidia as well as nvidia-utils?
The wiki has a great nvidia page.
    ehm... I did not...
I must be getting dyslexic or something cause I don't know how many times I read that wiki page trying to find something I had missed..
Anyway, installed the nvidia package and it's all good now. Thanks.
I'm gonna go sit in the corner now.
You're a big enough man to actually admit you've erred.  In my books that makes you a very respectable man so no more corner-sitting for you.

  • Nvidia-304xx Module nvidia not found

    Hi,
I had a nvidia GTX 260 as primary gpu with the latest nvidia running.
Now I switched to an old GT 6600. Therefore I installed nvidia-304xx but modprobe nvidia fails.
    [pheinrich@ARCH ~]$ sudo modprobe nvidia
modprobe: FATAL: Module nvidia not found.
    [pheinrich@ARCH ~]$ pacman -Qs nvidia
    local/lib32-libcl 1.1-1
OpenCL library and ICD loader from NVIDIA (32-bit)
    local/lib32-libvdpau 0.7-2
    Nvidia VDPAU library
    local/lib32-nvidia-304xx-libgl 304.121-2
    NVIDIA drivers libraries symlinks (32-bit)
    local/lib32-nvidia-304xx-utils 304.121-2
    NVIDIA drivers utilities (32-bit)
    local/lib32-opencl-nvidia-304xx 304.121-2
    OpenCL implemention for NVIDIA (32-bit)
    local/libcl 1.1-3
OpenCL library and ICD loader from NVIDIA
    local/libvdpau 0.7-1
    Nvidia VDPAU library
    local/nvidia-304xx 304.121-5

NVIDIA drivers libraries symlinks, 304xx legacy branch
    local/nvidia-304xx-utils 304.121-2
NVIDIA drivers utilities and libraries, 304xx legacy branch
    local/opencl-nvidia-304xx 304.121-2
OpenCL implemention for NVIDIA, 304xx legacy branch
I do not know what I have done wrong.

    I found it on
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA
For GeForce 6000/7000 series cards [NV40-NV4E, NV63-NV68], install the nvidia-304xx or nvidia-304xx-lts packages, available in the official repositories.
When I select the dropdowns on the nvidia website I get the 304.88 for that card so I think nvidia-304xx would be the right one.
I think there was something wrong during installation. If the nvidia-304xx wouldn't be compatible the nvidia module must be installed regardless.
    I will try nvidia.
    Edit 1
Something completly wrong here. I have installed the package nvidia now again.
[pheinrich@ARCH ~]$ sudo pacman -Qs nvidia
    local/lib32-libcl 1.1-1
OpenCL library and ICD loader from NVIDIA (32-bit)
    local/lib32-libvdpau 0.7-2
    Nvidia VDPAU library
    local/lib32-nvidia-libgl 337.25-1
    NVIDIA drivers libraries symlinks (32-bit)
    local/lib32-nvidia-utils 337.25-1
    NVIDIA drivers utilities (32-bit)
    local/lib32-opencl-nvidia 337.25-1
    OpenCL implemention for NVIDIA (32-bit)
    local/libcl 1.1-3
OpenCL library and ICD loader from NVIDIA
    local/libvdpau 0.7-1
    Nvidia VDPAU library
    local/nvidia 337.25-3
    NVIDIA drivers for linux
    local/nvidia-libgl 337.25-2
    NVIDIA drivers libraries symlinks
    local/nvidia-utils 337.25-2
    NVIDIA drivers utilities
    local/opencl-nvidia 337.25-2
    OpenCL implemention for NVIDIA
    But "modprobe nvidia" prints
    [pheinrich@ARCH ~]$ sudo modprobe nvidia
modprobe: FATAL: Module nvidia not found.
Maybe it has to do with the situation that I had installed "nvidia" before then removed it an installed nvidia-304xx ?

  • Some libs can not found

Hello, I'm new  to CQ5 and I'm following the "cq5_guide_developer" to practice my first project. It's very smooth until I want to download "cq5libs" from my local CQ5.5 server.
Here are the content of the guide I'm following:
    Proceed as follows:
In your file system, create a CQ5 libraries folder called cq5libs. This folder can be created anywhere.
Under cq5libs, create the folders: cq, sling and wcm.
From the system command line go to .../cq5libs/cq and execute vlt co http://localhost:4502/crx /libs/cq/install . to export the libraries stored under /libs/cq/install from the CQ5 server.
From the system command line go to .../cq5libs/sling and execute vlt co http://localhost:4502/crx /libs/sling/install . to export the libraries stored under /libs/sling/install from the CQ5 server.
From the system command line go to .../cq5libs/wcm and execute vlt co http://localhost:4502/crx /libs/wcm/install . to export the libraries stored under /libs/wcm/install from the CQ5 server.
In Eclipse, right-click the ui project, select Build Path, then Configure Build Path. In the dialog select the Libraries tab.
Click Add External JARS..., navigate to .../cq5libs/cq/jcr_root, select all the jar files and click Open.
Click Add External JARS..., navigate to .../cq5libs/sling/jcr_root, select all the jar files and click Open.
Click Add External JARS..., navigate to .../cq5libs/wcm/jcr_root, select all the jar files and click Open.
Click Add External JARS..., navigate to <cq-installation-dir>/crx-quickstart/server/lib/container, select all the jar files and click Open.
    Click OK.
I got a error message when I tried to execute "vlt co http://localhost:4502/crx /libs/cq/install " with username and password, but server reponsed like this:
Connecting via JCR remoting to http://localhost:4502/crx/libs/cq
[WARN ] Authentication required to access repository descriptors
[ERROR] checkout: com.day.jcr.vault.vlt.VltException: Unable to mount filesystem
    caused by: javax.jcr.ItemNotFoundException: Not Found
      caused by: org.apache.jackrabbit.webdav.DavException: Not Found
Dose anybody have any idea about it?

  • Fglrx module not loading / not found

    Edit:
I noticed that when running depmod, i got an error about fglrx existing and bla bla bla error.
    So, i ran rm /lib/modules/{kernel}/extramodules/fglrx* .
    Then reinstall catalyst-dkms & catalyst-utils.
    Then depmod. Then reboot.
    ============================================================================================================================
When i lsmod | grep fglrx, nothing is listed.
modprobe fglrx returns Module fglrx not found.
I have installed catalyst drivers according to the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fglrx .
    # pacman -S catalyst-dkms catalyst-utils
    # pacman -S lib32-catalyst-utils
    # aticonfig --initial
    I'm using systemd, so:
-Disable the radeon module from auto-loading. If it occurs in any file under /etc/modules-load.d/, remove the file (or, if the file contains multiple modules, just remove the radeon one).
-Either add fglrx on a new line of an existing module file located under /etc/modules-load.d/, or create a new file and add fglrx.
(radeon is blacklisted; i have a file called /etc/modules-load.d/fglrx with one line: fglrx )
    And grub2:
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nomodeset"
    # grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

stonebit, please mark this thread [SOLVED] if you really fixed it.
BTW it is bad practice to alter a post only to tell that the problem at hand has been fixed. A final post in the thread would have been more suitable. So everyone knows on first sight what you did.

I have lightroom 5.7 and a macbook pro 10.9.5.  Occasionally when I am editing a photo in the develop module, I suddenly get a "file not found" message and the editing ceases to work.  There is no "exclamation" icon below the histogram box in the Library module or on the photo in grid view, and the histogram is gone.  What is going on? Trying to find it using the "find missing photos" in the library menu does nothing.

  • Removing warning for "Default CSS file not found."

I am getting this warning in Flash Builder:
    "Default CSS file not found."
I can not for the life of me figure out how to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

Default css file can be specified as a compiler option (per SWC, I think).
    See http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=compilers_14.html
For example, flex framework has a default CSS file: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4\sdks\3.5.0\frameworks\projects\framework\default.css
Do you have some library project or a swc with default css file option turned on, but the css file is missing?

Go to UTILITIES-> Update Navigation index.
or go to fucntion group and Generate the Funtion group once.
it will detect all fucntion modules under that function group.
