Warning message through BG ABSENCE DURATION

Hi ,
Can we popup waring message instead of error message by using BG ABSENCE DURATION FORMULA.
i am able to popup warning message through validation formulas , but i failed to display through
BG ABSENCE DURATION .
Regds,
Kumar

I do not think that it is possible to display custom warning messages based on custom defined validations in the absence form.
There is already a bug 4765023, dealing with this.

    I am not sure of the exact use case you have in mind. However, AMImpl or any other java file is not customizable by any means.
    Hope this helps

  • Application generated warning messages

    I seem to be constantly vexed by integrating warning messages into my applications. I am fine with javascript and am a former PHP (LAMP) developer so I think I just have to get the proper architecture for warning messages through my head and them I will be all set. The built in validation functionality is great but I am looking for information about the traditional warning messages like 'that value seems to high, are you sure' which would then allow the user to click 'OK' and save the records.
    Sometimes this involves going against the database to generate the warning and that is the part that I am struggling with. Could someone point me toward a good post, blog, or any resource that has a good overview of the best way to accomplish this.
    TIA.

    JSF sees and merges all configuration files listed below:
    (1) WEB-INF/faces-config.xml
    (2) some xml files you specify using the context-param element of WEB-INF/web.xml
    (3) META-INF/faces-config.xml files included in all jar files
    Check the all configuration files and see whether they have doubled elements
    and merge them.

  • Warning Message in Absence Page

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement detailing the Following Scenario in Oracle HRMS R12.1.1
    1. User selects Create Absence Entry
    2. Selects Paternity Leave
    3. Create the Leaves and Click the Submit Button
    4. A warning Message should be issued to the User (Asking him to submit the Child Birth Certificate)
    5. This should be a warning message and if the user clicks the submit button once again, he should be allowed to submit the Leave.
    I have extended the concerned class in the Page and added the Warning Message.
    However when submitting the leave in the Application, the Warning Message is displayed, but it does NOT allow the user to proceed.
    The code is as follows:
    if(absenceType.trim().equalsIgnoreCase("Paternity Leave") && gender.equalsIgnoreCase("M"))
                             //Change by Ravi @ 06-Aug-2010 to give a Warning Message to the User that a Medical Certificate Needs to be provided
                             throw new OAException("You are requested to submit original medical certificate certifying birth of child" , OAException.WARNING);Grateful if you people could help.
    Thks
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi
    throw statement throws the error and ends the execution!!!!You can try like below code
    if(absenceType.trim().equalsIgnoreCase("Paternity Leave") && gender.equalsIgnoreCase("M"))
    //Change by Ravi @ 06-Aug-2010 to give a Warning Message to the User that a Medical Certificate Needs to be provided
    //throw new OAException("You are requested to submit original medical certificate certifying birth of child" , OAException.WARNING);
    OAException exception = new OAException("You are requested to submit original medical certificate certifying birth of child" , OAException.WARNING);
    pageContext.putDialogMessage(exception);Hope it helps!!!

  • Handling a warning message in BDC through RFC

    Hi all,
    I have a requirement where I have to do a CALL TRANSACTION using a RFC Fn. Module.
    This is for sending time sheet data to CATSDB thru CAT2 (T-code). In the process of time entry I have to go through a warning message (time entry for saturday & sunday ) and save the time sheet. I have recorded all this thru SHDB and created the BDC. The FM works fine in the back end. It is also fine when this RFC is called in the front end from a portal, except for the warning message part. The FM errors out when called thru portal  for uploading data for saturday or sunday.
    There seems to be no problem when I call this function module in the backend using a custom program and try to save time for saturday and sunday. I have tried various options and founnd that the RFC is failing only when called for saturday and sunday. Somehow the BDC part where the warning message is handled is causing the error.
    One of my colleague said, the backend is trying to return a dialog box/screen (warning message pop up) to the fucntion module which is not being accomodated or something of that sort????
    Is this true??? So does this mean I cannot do it the way I am trying to.
    Any suggestions and thoughts on why this is happening. Am I missing something here???
    Any kind of input is highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Anees, Thanks for your suggestion.
    I was probably not very clear in stating my problem. I do not have to display the error or warning message.
    During time entry,when I click SAVE button, I get a warning message, to get through this message I have to hit ENTER  again (now the time sheet is saved). All this I have recorded in SHDB and used in the BDC.
    Now my problem is this BDC for saturday & sunday (the warning message comes up for these days) does not work when the RFC is called from the portal, whereas the time sheet is saved without any errors when I try to call this from the back end.
    Also the RFC works fine for the rest of the days both in the back end and also when called from the portal.
    I hope I am clear.....
    Any suggestions
    Thanks

  • To through custumize warning messages while creating PO

    Hi All,
    I want to through some warning message throgh user exit while creating PO is there any standar message id i can use to through warning message i know '00' with number 398 but that is working only for error message.
    Regards
    Sagar

    If you're doing these in an exit, you decide in your code whether A,E,I,W, message type.  Beware though, how you present...you might want to do I messages with the "display like E" addition.  I utilize message 016 from message class GR a lot...It's just placeholders and you can then issue messages with three or four values, like:
      message e016(gr) with
      <document> <item> 'text' 'more text'
       etc....  mix and match up to four values, literals, constants, text-elements, etc.

    Can u help me how to remove this ?

    Hi Manohar,
    Edit to add: Here I assume you have a Web Application Designer (WAD) report.
    You can suppress system and warning messages in WAD. Try this and see if it helps.
    - Go to your WAD report
    - In the top part of the properties window there is a drop down box. Open this box and select the top level entry there. This should be the name of your report.
    - Click Web Item
    - Check the following two checkboxes: "Do not Display System Messages" and "Do not Display Warnings".
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Petter

  • Warning message in Oracle Workflow notification

    Hi,
    I have a requirement, where a warning message is to be shown to the user when he presses the Approve button of a notification.
    I know that through post notification function, validations for a particular notification can be performed and an error message can be shown to the user using RESULT := 'ERROR: error_msg'
    But can a warning message be shown ? If yes how?
    Thanks in advance.
    Souri Guha

    I would try by using a parameter to tell whether the warning message for the notification has been displayed. First time the notification is being approved the function raises the warning message and sets that attribute to indicate the warning has been displayed. Next attempt to respond the notification your function will check that attribute has been set and will do nothing, just let the notification go responded.
    You might as well present the warning message in the notification body and introduce another attribute to get the acknowledgement from the user. Only when that attribute is set to YES (acknowledge) will the post-notification function actually let the notification be approved, otherwise an error is presented for the user to acknowledge.
    Hope this helps

  • Warning message in field exit

    Hi All,
    I'd the requirement of giving a warning message for transaction VA01 if user enters some specific order type.
    So I'd created a field exit for AUART for this screen. But i am able to give error message only and found out that warning & info messages can't be given in a field exit.
    Please help me out. Is there any way I can give a warning message in field exit or suggest some other sol. for it.
    Thanks,
    Manu

    Hi,
    Thanks f or your answers, but the issue is that i need to give this message as User enters the details on VA01 screen & presses enters.SO i can't use user exit like move_field_to_Vbak & others.
    Also, using a FM to give pop up message will ultimately make use of statement CALL SCREEN which is not allowed in field exit, i also tried FMs which displays messages normally means not in pop up screen, but again through it also i can only give error messages.
    Please suggets if there is any other option.
    Thanks,
    Manu Parihar

  • Warning message in 'Writeback Report'

    Hi,
    I have to enable writeback on a report and to prompt a warning message to user before submitting the changes.
    I am fine with enabling the writeback on the report and update the changes through writeback XML.
    But, I am not sure of this 'Warning Message' in a separate window as prompt to confirm the changes made by user before submitting.
    Can somebody please help me if you have implemented this?
    Thanks,
    Viswanath

    Dear Madhu,
    You are not using LS_HEADER statically that you have defined in the program. You will get a warning message since you have defined a field that you have not referenced statically.
    Are you using this field dynamically? You can delete/comment the code if you are not using it statically and dynamically.

  • Warning message in asset cap.

    Hi,
    we have a following requirement:
    "At the time of asset capitalization amunting less than 5000 then systen should give a pop up warning message that check dep. key in asset master"
    To meet the above, we have written a validation rule that if posting key is 70 & amount is less than 5000 then system should give a pop message. Currently that validation rule is working for F-90 & KO88. I want to know whether the said solution is viable or not OR can we write any other better logic than above?
    Regards
    Anuj

    Hi
    If you are sure that F-90 & KO88 are the only two ways in which assets can be capitalized, than this is fine. However, you may also look at the option of capitalization through WBS and through Transfer from other assets.

  • Warning message in Adobe form

    Hi ,
    My form is accessed through portal.
    I want a warning message to be displayed when there is no data in the dropdown.
    The message can be given
    1. At the start when the form opens up  Or
    2. When the user clicks on the dropdown.
    Please help me with this.
    Points will be rewarded for useful answers.
    Thanks.

    Thomas,
    In the initialize event of your drop-down put following code.Change language to javascript.
            var DataBinding = this.bind.ref;
         // the data binding may contain "$data.<root data name>" instead of $record
         DataBinding = DataBinding.replace("$data."+xfa.record.name,"$record");
         DataBinding = DataBinding.replace("$record.", "");
         var itemNode = xfa.form.resolveNode("xfa.datasets.data."+xfa.record.name+".sap-vhlist."+DataBinding.replace(/(\.)/g,"\\.").replace(/(\[\*\])/g,""));
         var size = 0;
         try
             size = itemNode.nodes.length;
             xfa.host.messageBox("Size is :"+size);
             if(size == 0)
                  xfa.host.messageBox("Month is empty");

  • How to stop HTTP Security warning message in transactional iview

    When I am trying to access ECC through transactional iview then I am getting HTTP security warning message i.e. This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?
    I think it is because portal is accessable using HTTPS protocol and when we access ECC then it uses HTTP Protocol.
    Pl help to resolve.

    Hi AshuGrover_in,
    First, welcome on SDN!
    > I think it is because portal is accessable using HTTPS protocol and when we access ECC then it uses HTTP Protocol.
    > Pl help to resolve.
    This might very well be the root cause of the issue, and if it is, you know the resolution - make all systems accessible via https.
    Anyhow, to examine the exact cause creating this message you could use tools like HttpWatch or something similar and record the client accesses to the server. If you originally have a GET to a https address, the first http request caused by the original request will throw this message.
    Theoretically, on client side, you can switch off this message: Search for "switch off http https warning" on google and you will get all possible instructions for the different clients. Anyhow, a clean landscape design with complete https connections is the aim you should have.
    Hope it helps
    Detlev
