Warning on logger of Beehive class

Hi all,
When starting Weblogic Network Gatekeeper, I always encountered warning against Log4j on one of Beehive's class as follows:
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.beehive.netui.pageflow.internal.AdapterManager).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
I have pointed the log4j configuration to the correct location of log4jconfiguration.xml, but the warning keeps poping up on me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Setya

Hi,
Or you can try making a Validation View Object (VVO) for the VO that populates the advancedTable, and check if the mapped value is empty there...
Hope it Helps!

  • Creating  a static method returning Logger Object inside class

    Hello,
    Instead of creating Logger Instance in every class , can i do like this way by creating a static method in some class returning a Logger object , and using that method for getting instance of Logger in another class through that method

    On a related note, if you want to make it simpler, never do this:
    if (a == true)Instead, just do if (a)It's pointless and cluttersome to use == or != with true or false.
    // wrong
    if (a == true)
    if (a != false)
    // right
    if (a)
    // wrong
    if (a == false)
    if (a != true)
    // right
    if (!a)Also, note that
    if (x) {
      return true;
    else {
      return false;
    }can be simplified to return x;If you do that and change your variable to something a bit more meaningful, like trueCount or numTrue or something, your code would be
    int trueCount = 0;
    if (a) trueCount++;
    if (b) trueCount++;
    if (c) trueCount++;
    return trueCount >= 2;which is about as simple and clear as it can get, IMHO. Using less code doesn't necessarily make the code simpler or clearer. The idea is that someone reading the code can easily understand what it does.
    And note that the above can be easily generalized to "Are there at least M true values in this array/list of N booleans?" and still be concise and clear.

  • WARNING: Unable to access loaded classes

    Hi,
    Just installed OAS 10.1.3 on AIX. When I started the home OC4J instance, I got "WARNING: Unable to access loaded classes" in the OC4J~home~default_group~1 log file. Why this happened? Which classes unable to access?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Regsitering log4j appender to a logger in a class in a web app

    During weblogic 9.2 server startup I would like to register a Handler with any number of log4j Loggers in all deployed web apps. I was thinking I could somehow get a reference to the applications classloader, and see if it has log4j, then register with the root logger. I used to do this in WLS 8, using ApplicationContainerFactory, but this is no longer available in WLS 9. Is there another way to do this in WLS 9? Thank for any help.

    Thanks. I'm using a startup class. I could easily check if log4j is in the server classpath, and attach my appender. However, if log4j is not in server classpath, and in the application classpath, I need to check for this. I was using ApplicationContainerFactory in weblogic 8 like so:
    appContainerFactory.getApplicationContainer(applicationName).getApplicationClassLoader()
    which is not available in weblogic 9. And I can't find in the docs anywhere to indicate it's replacement, or any type of alternative.

  • Compile-time warning during javac of a Class that implements Comparable

    Hello All,
    I have defined a class as follows;
    public class CardTiles extends JButton implements Comparable{
    During normal compilation with javac, it tell me to use Xlint to compile and the warning it throws is below:
    CardTiles.java:4: warning: [serial] serializable class CardTiles has no definition of serialVersionUID
    public class CardTiles extends JButton implements Comparable{

    1 warning
    What does this warning mean?
    Many thanks!

    ejp wrote:
    you can choose to to differentiate between various versions of your CardTiles classThat's back to front. Serialization will always do that unless you stop it, which you can do via a fixed serialVersionUID. This tells Serialization that different versions of your class are compatible under serialization.I suppose I see it this way because I wouldn't have a serializable object without an ID. Without having an explicit ID the process isn't as transparent to me. It's the same sort of thing as using braces for statements when they're not necessary, e.g.
              if(check)
                   System.out.println("check is on");
              else
                   System.out.println("check is off");     versus

  • Log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (Log4jExample).

    Hi,
    I am getting this error when I try to use log4j to generate logs.The program works fine if I keep log4j.properties file and my logging program in the same directory.
    If it is different directory,how to make it work ? like below.
    Any help in this regard is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Chat
    C:\mjava\test > dir

    log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
    import org.apache.log4j.*;
    public class Log4jExample
        private static final Logger log =
            Logger.getLogger(Log4jExample.class);
        public static void main(String[] args)
            try
                log.debug("This is a debug message.");
                int i = Integer.parseInt("Hello world");
            catch (java.lang.Exception ex)
                log.error("Caught an exception", ex);
    C:\mjava>dir
    log4j.properties

    I'd recommend you use the classpath. But don't put log4j.properties in the parent directory of where your java class is, or the classpath will end up being incorrect. Try putting it in a separate directory tree, or as a child directory of where your class lives.
    Then add the classpath option to the runtime.
    java -classpath .;otherDirectory Log4jExample
    (where "otherDirectory" is the directory that contains log4j.properties)

  • Can logger stmts belonging to one class alone not not get printed at times?

    Hello,
    My application has run into an issue where some log statements in "one particular class" do not get printed at times. The issue is not reproduced in a consistent manner ie. it may happen on some days/may not on some other days.
    Here is the structure of the two classes which has reported the issue. I have a class A and another class B which has extended the class A. I am printing 2 log statements in class B(one statement using the logger object of class A (logA object), and the other statement with the logger object of class B (logB object)). But the logger statement using the logA object does not get printed on some days. After a server restart, it starts working fine. Is there some thread which gets killed?
    public class A{
    protected static Logger logA = Logger.getLogger(A.class);
    public static void myLog(String s) {
    logA.info("in myLog, " + s);
    public class B extends A{
    protected static Logger logB = Logger.getLogger(B.class);
    myLog("Log Statement Number 1"); //This statement does not get printed all the time
    logB.info("Log Statment Number 2"); //This statement always get printed
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    The issue is not reproduced in a consistent manner Since you cannot reproduce the problem you have not narrowed down what the possible cause might be. Good luck with that.

  • 11g 1.3 provides a new Serializable class warning ?

    We have an adf swing app we moved to version 1.3
    we now get this warning in most of the app classes:
    Serializable class contains non-serializable fields: [contactX]
    this is an example class as basic as you can get that extends JDialog and It uses another class. The warning wants to mark ContactX.class as transient ?
    This should not require the "private transient" Keyword as it has nothing to do with Jdialog being Serializable.
    Is this produced for some reason due to changes in use of the adf binding or
    has something changed that could impact the application now or in the future or is this warning in error?
    public class ContactXDialog extends JDialog {
    private ContactX contactX;
    }

    Ok I think I understand your confusion better now.
    - JDialog implements Serializable
    - You extends JDialog, so ContactXDialog also implements Serializable
    - Serialization implies the serialization of all fields, so contactX is a serialization candidate
    - Now there's two possibilities.
    1. contactX is calculable, meaning you can compute it back at runtime if needed, this is often the case of cached or lazy fetched values. Then you can make the field transient, effectively removing it from the serializable candidates
    2. contactX must be set, then it must be serialized, therefore it must be Serializable as well. So the only option here is to have ContactX class implement the Serializable interface.
    The warning offered the easiest way out, albeit likely a problematic one, to add the transient modifier.

The original one with JTree1, and the panel and horizontal splitplane and another window with a new tree component that did get its objects from the database. My question is how do I "replace" the JTree1 with the new tree created from the second java file?
    Or additionally, maybe I could set the data for JTree1 from within the second java file?

    Why do I have to provide the "-I /usr/include/headers_dir" compiler option for some libraries but not for others, although the header files for each lie in a level 1 subdir of /usr/include?
    I thought that maybe there was some kind of index of installed libraries that I didn't know about, which I could have updated from within PKGBUILD (so I guess that's why I included it originally). Seems to me now, though, that this is not the case.
    I did put in some google time (but not lots b/c 1. hard to google and 2. busy) to find an answer, but to no avail and it's not really top priority right now (and quite honestly never will be, since there is the -I option), so I guess it'll have to wait, unless someone knows...
    ---EDIT---
    So, right after I posted this (stupid me) I had a little think and I finally understand, whats happening.
    1. Headers are not found without specifying the directory they are in.
    2. I need the -I option because easykf headers are not well formed.
    Thanks a lot!

  • Log file is not created used util.logger

    I need to write a log into a file using java.util.logging.
    File name should read from properties file.
    Issue is file is not created in D:\TestLogging.log
    Below are the configuration:
    src\resources\logger.properties
    handlers=java.util.logging.FileHandler, java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler
    .level=INFO
    java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level=SEVERE
    java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.formatter=java.util.logging.SimpleFormatter
    java.util.logging.FileHandler.level=ALL
    java.util.logging.FileHandler.pattern=D:\TestLogging.log
    # Number of output files to cycle through, by appending an
    # integer to the base file name:
    java.util.logging.FileHandler.count=1
    # Style of output (Simple or XML):
    java.util.logging.FileHandler.formatter=java.util.logging.SimpleFormatter
    SimpleLogger.java
    import java.util.logging.*;
    public final class SimpleLogger {
      public static void main(String argv[]) {
      SimpleLogger thing = new SimpleLogger();
      thing.doSomething();
      public void doSomething() {
      fLogger.finest("this is finest");
      fLogger.finer("this is finer");
      fLogger.fine("this is fine");
      fLogger.config("this is config");
      fLogger.info("this is info");
      fLogger.warning("this is a warning");
      fLogger.severe("this is severe");
      fLogger.logp(Level.INFO, this.getClass().toString(), "doSomething", "blah");
      Throwable ex = new IllegalArgumentException("Some exception text");
      fLogger.log(Level.SEVERE, "Some message", ex);
      fLogger.exiting(this.getClass().toString(), "doSomething");
      private static final Logger fLogger =
      Logger.getLogger(SimpleLogger.class.getName());
    Could you please help, any configuration is missed

  • Log4j: Logging Errors(No appenders could be found for logger)

    hi,
    i used logging in my java application. i placed log4j.jar and log4j.xml file paths
    given in classpath.
    i am getting 2 warning Messages. Those are as follows
    Log4j:WARN. No appenders could be found for logger (Myclass.class)
    Log4j:WARN. Use Log4j System Properly.
    Here is what i done
    log4j.xml is external configuration file. I specified Appender and layout
    information in this.
    Here is log4j.xml content...
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM "log4j.dtd">
    <log4j:configuration xmlns:log4j="http://jakarta.apache.org/log4j/">
    <appender name="appender" class="org.apache.log4j.FileAppender">
    <param name="File" value="C:\LOG\log.txt"/>
    <param name="Append" value="false"/>
    <layout class="org.apache.log4j.SimpleLayout"/>
    </appender>
    <root>
    <priority value ="INFO"/>
    <appender-ref ref="appender"/>
    </root>
    </log4j:configuration>
    I specified appender and layout in log4j.xml file and placed log4j.xml file in
    classpath.
    How can i solve this problem?. Please help me.

    Ok. I'm no log4j expert, but if you try to get a logger called Myclass.class and have not defined one in your xml file, there's a problem? Look at my xml file below, especially the category tag. Instead of putting "All" for the name, you would put "Myclass.class".
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM "log4j.dtd">
    <log4j:configuration xmlns:log4j="http://jakarta.apache.org/log4j/">
    <appender name="file" class="org.apache.log4j.FileAppender">
    <param name="File" value="log/log.txt"/>
    <param name="Append" value="true"/>
    <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
    <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d %-5p [%t] %C{2} (%l) - %m\n"/>
    </layout>
    </appender>
    <appender name="console" class="org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender">
    <param name="Target" value="System.Out"/>
    <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
    <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d %-5p %C{1}.%M - %m\n"/>
    </layout>
    </appender>
    <!-- The All category -->
    <category name="All" additivity="false">
    <priority value="debug"/>
    <appender-ref ref="file"/>
    <appender-ref ref="console"/>
    </category>
    <!-- The one and only root category -->
    <root>
    <priority value="warn"/>
    <appender-ref ref="console"/>
    </root>
    </log4j:configuration>

  • How can I referece a .class inside a @WebService

    I have the following class
    package org.rmilian;
    import javax.jws.WebMethod;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import javax.xml.ws.Endpoint;
    import org.apache.log4j.Logger;
    @WebService
    public class Hello {
         static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(Hello.class);
         @WebMethod
         public void hello(String hello) {
              System.out.println(hello);
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              Hello hello = new Hello();
              Endpoint endpoint = Endpoint
                        .publish("http://localhost:81/hello", hello);
    }And when I try to run apt with the above class I get the error below:
    warning: Annotation types without processors: [javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlRoot
    Element, javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlAccessorType, javax.xml.bind.annotation.Xm
    lType, javax.xml.bind.annotation.XmlElement]

    symbol : class Logger
    location: class org.rmilian.Hello
    static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(Hello.class);
    ^
    3 errors
    1 warning
    If I remove the Logger statement all work well. I have proved this with references to other classes and I guess that the problem is when the classes Im referencing are in bytecode format i meant in .class and when are in .java all work well.
    My question is if there is any way of generating the wrapper classes and keep the reference to .class files?

    1.) Within your comp, you could use the application
    heirarchy:
    var mainAppTxt = mx.core.Application.application.stxt.text;
    or
    2.) Bind the box right into your component.
    Main.mxml:
    <mx:Text id="stxt" text="" width="240" height="650"/>
    <myComponent txtField="{stxt}" />
    myComponent.as / .mxml:
    var txtField; // ready to use as-is (as long as you used
    {binding} )
