Watermark Not Antialiased?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong...
I created my watermark in Photoshop as described in the manual. It's one layer of antialiased text with a transparent background.
When I export from Aperture, the watermark shows up with jaggies because it lacks antialiasing.
Is that the way it's supposed to work, or did I miss something?

How can I tell?
I checked "Show Watermark," chose to position it in the "Lower Right," set the opacity to "1.0," and then chose the PSD.
The watermark then shows up in the preset, but I don't see any way to set or check the scale.
Nevermind. The problem appears to be the way Preview displays the exported photo.
I brought the exported photo into Photoshop to compare the size of the original watermark and the size of the watermark on the exported photo.
When I did so, I found the watermark was properly scaled and looked just as I expected... complete with antialiasing.
Thanks for the help!

  • Watermark not saving on PDF - Pro v9.0

We have a user who has to apply a watermark to a larger number of files.  But the watermark is not being saved to the PDF's.  The issue is when you select to "Keep position and size of watermakr text constant when printing on different page sizes"  the watermark does not get applied, but if you do not select this option then the watermark is applied.  Below are the steps we are doing, we are using Adobe Acrobat Pro v9.0
    Open Adobe Acrobat Pro
    Document > Watermark > Add
Select 2 files to apply the Watermark to
    Click Appearance Options
Check off "Keep position and size of watermark text constant when printing on different page sizes"
Enter Text for watermark "TEST WATERMARK"
Change the font size to 10
    Position > Vertical > 0 inches > Bottom
    Position > Horizontal > 0 inches > Right
Click OK to have the Watermark applied
    Output Options
    Select  "Same folder as originals"
    De-Select "Open when Finished
    Click Ok
The Progess bar pops up then goes away - when you open either one of the PDF's the Watermark is not applied.  If I redo the process but I do not go into the Appearance Options and select "Keep position and Size of watermark text constant when printing on different page sizes"  then the watermark gets applied.
I believe this is a bug within Adobe Acrobat Pro v9.0

  • Watermarks not printing properly.

Created a Watermark on PDF using office Vista computer with Acrobat 8.  After creating and inserting a text watermark, the on screen images of the pages show the watermark correctly and the watermarked pages print correctly.
On that same office PC, using Reader 8, on screen image is also fine and pages print correctly.
When viewing the Watermarked PDF on home office Vista computer using Reader 7, the on screen images show the watermarked pages correctly; however, when printing the pages the watermark word COPY prints with a rectangular, solid white box around it, which hides the document text behind it.  In other words, the resulting printout looks like there is a white card on top of the document text and then the transparent watermark on top of the card.
I have one laser and two ink jet printers hooked to the home office computer with Reader 7 on it, and all of them print the pages incorrectly.
Is this printing issue something tied to the a problem with Reader 7 (vs. Reader 8 or Acrobat 8), or is it something else?  Thanks in advance for any insight.

  • Watermark not showing up in L4

I tired adding my watermark last night, as i always do when I export photos.  (yes, the box was checked for watermark)
When I viewed the exported file (not the original), it didn't show up. I'm using a custom logo, not text. i also tried creating a new one w/ the same logo, but still did not show up.
Any suggestions to try to get this corrected?

There's a persistent bug in the Watermark feature, but which only bites in very rare circumstances (it needs to be a text watermark, and then needs the right combination of font, proportional size, and pixel dimension of the target export).
So if it is a text-based watermark you are trying to apply, if you'd like to tell us:
    1. What font are you using
    2. What proportional size you have set in the "Watermark Effects" section of the watermark editor.
    3. What pixel dimension the exported file will have, i.e. are you resizing in export, if so to what size? Or if not resizing what pixel dimesions does the original file have?
With that info we can quickly test to either confirm that's your problem, or if not look for a different cause.

  • Transparent Watermark not working, background turns white

I have been sent a TIFF logo for a company and need to watermark some photos. I would like to do this via LR. I have version 4.4.
I loaded the file into PS6, in order to change it to a Jpeg OR PNG.... to upload into the LR watermark edit area.
I am unable to find PNG as an option in the "Save As" menu. So I tried "Save for Web".. I was able to save the file as a PNG, and when opened off the desktop, it does appear to be transparent. However, when uploaded into LR watermark graphic area... it suddenly has a white background again.
I am seriously ripping my hair out. I have watched a zillion tutorial and read a bunch of recommendations... and it's still not working.... HELP ME PLEASE. There is obviously some little detail or setting that isn't the same...
NOTE---> Not option for PNG in Save As menu....
SAVING AS PNG IN THE "SAVE FOR WEB" MENU... (I also tried selecting PNG-24) .. neither worked.
THE "TRANSPARENT" PNG File as it appears as a watermark.....

It already is in RGB... tried that... still no SAVE AS menu.....  Also tried as 8bit and 16 bit....

  • PDF Dynamic Watermark - Not working

    Hi,
We are using Oracle UCM 10gR3 (Stellent) with IIS 6. Ghost script 8.63 for conversion
We have configured Watermark Templates and set rule for displaying Watermark dynamically on the footer based on dDocAuthor.
Static watermark is appearing with out any problem but the dynamic one is not getting displayed.....
The watermark appears correctly on local development environment where we have Oracle UCM 10gR3 (Stellent) with Apache 2.2 server and open office 3.0 for conversion
Please let us know what needs to checked.
    Thanks in advance....

    Hi,
It is downloadable and we can see the static watermark also. and the rule which we are applying is dDocAuthor=sysadmin.
We printed the Author in static watermark and it displayed Author as sysadmin only, from that we can assume the rule must be applied...
    No error in logs :(

  • PDF WATERMARK NOT VISIBLE IN READER

    HI Gurus,
I have created a simple script which reads a value from a form field and creates a watermark on pdf document.
I can view the watermark in Acrobat Pro 9 but unable to see the watermark when viewing through acroabt reader 9. Below is the script I am using. I have not set bOnScreen or bOnPrint and have left as default which I believe is true.
    var cMyText = this.getField("WATERMARKADDRESS").value;
    this.addWatermarkFromText({
    cText: cMyText,
    nTextAlign: app.constants.align.center,
    nRotation: 45
Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank Lee

What does it say in the JavaScript console? Have you checked the documentation for addWaterMarkFromText (especially the quick bar) to see if it is supposed to work in Reader?

  • Watermark not showing correctly on image export

I've come from Aperture 2, and when I exported jpegs I had a small watermark - a 15 x 18 png file - that I added to my exports. When I upgraded to Aperture 3 I did it by creating a new library and importing the Aperture 2 library. My existing image export presets appeared, but with the watermarks missing. I added the watermark using the preset dialog. When I tried to change the position of the watermark in the dialog, the watermark did not move in the preset dialog. When I printed the picture the *watermark was scaled up* to fill the whole picture. This makes the watermark unusable.
Anyone else come across this? Any work-arounds?

Same problem here. They really mucked this up.
It needs to work EXACTLY the way it did in 2.x, because the way they do it now we can't get a pixel for pixel watermark exactly where we had it in 2.x.
I'm guessing most of us had a fixed size watermark with transparent padding to push it away from the "edges" that it was set to, set to not scale so we had direct control over the WM's size.
Regardless of how you set it up now, it scales, and you have no control over how much. If I'd have wanted a buggy windows product that knew more about what I wanted to do than I did, I'd have bought Office 2008.

  • How can I add a text watermark, NOT an image

I would like to make a watermark for all of my images, but I want to vary the location it is at every time.  Also, I'd like to change the color of the text according to the image.  Is there a plugin out there that allows for this?
    Thanks,
    Zach

    Zach -- try it again.
The watermark blend modes are there to help show your watermark on varying backgrounds.  The Blend Mode selector is on the Watermark tab.  Try all of them.
You are not limited to images.  Here is a screenshot of the Border FX text tab.  The options are extensive (and include separate colors for stroke and fill).

  • Watermarks not showing on files when batch processed?

    Hello,
I am using acrobat pro 9. I am looking to watermark upto 2000 files at work, I have researched and gone through all of the steps to set up a watermarking script for the batch function.
However once the process is complete, the correct files appear in the correct folder but are totally unchaged...the watermarkings are set to be veiwable on screen and when printed.
I can watermark and successfully save files if I do them one at a time, it just all goes out the window when I try to batch them.
I am batching 3D imaged pdf's if that makes any difference (doubt it would as they watermark the same as 2d)
used this link to help create the watermark
    http://www.pdfzone.com/c/a/Document-Management/Add-Watermarks-to-PDFs-with-Batch-Processin g/
Can anyone think why I am having this trouble? Is there a simple option I am not selecting etc?
    Thanks
    Ali.

Ok here is how I have created the batch wateramark:
Advanced > Document Processing > Batch Processing
NEW sequence > input name (3D wateramark)
Select Commands: Add x2 'Add watermark'
    This is how I set up the first watermark;
    Then the second;
Now watermarks are in place ,select '3D watermark' and 'run sequence'
    Edit the options....
The files are then selected > OK.
Loading bar appears, and the process appears to run.
Files then appear in the correct specified folder but are not watermarked.
    Thanks.

  • Acrobat Watermark not displaying correctly

I have had a problem that started with Acrobat 8 Professional and it is continuing in Acrobat 9 Pro, this problem did not exist for me in Acrobat 7 Professional.
I have a customer who creates documents in InDesign on a PC and converts them to PDFs with bookmarks. They send over the PDF files and we place watermarks on the appropriate pages (have tried this on both Mac and PC with the same results). The watermarks are set to only show when a page is printed, they are in the background with a 10% opacity and scaled to 75% of the page. The watermark file is a greyscale jpeg, there is no text in the watermark.
Security is also applied to the document, allowing printing, but preventing changes to the document.
The files look fine on the computers here in our building, both PC and Mac. When my client views them, the watermark is showing on all pages on screen and when they print. It should only show when printed.
The client is working in Acrobat 8. I have tried placing the watermark in their Acrobat 8 PDF using Acrobat 7, 8, and 9. I get the same results.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
    Any ideas where to start?

    More troubleshooting information:
I tried removing the watermark in Acrobat 8, then taking the PDF into Acrobat 7 and re-applying the watermark.
    The same problems were encountered.
I then removed the watermark in Acrobat 8, then in Acrobat 9 applied a Background (since in Acrobat 7 the watermark & background were one dialog, I grasped at a straw and tried this). Except for the background showing up on the thumbnails, it appears to be working correctly.
I reviewed an Acrobat 7 PDF done in 2008 to compare. In this PDF the background/watermark did not show up on the thumbnails.
I will be calling Adobe Technical Support, I will post what we find.

  • How do I get my watermark not to get cut off when printing from aperture?

When I export an image that I have put my watermark on and print it the water mark gets cut off in the printing

Aperture should scale watermarks down to fit the exported image.  Perhaps it is scaling to one dimension and not both?
Have you tried resizing your watermark?  I suggest creating a watermark for each commonly used export size.  I use a wide and not tall watermark, in these widths (in pixels):
    - 320
    - 640
    - 1024

  • Watermarks Not Showing On Large Web Previews Lightroom 3.0

Is anyone having success in getting a watermark to show up on the larger preview image when creating a web page in the Web module? Even though my photos all have specific metadata attached and it is synched with LR it does not transfer over to the larger preview even though I have the Watermark setting checked in the Output options.

You have an incorrectly calibrated monitor or a corrupt monitor calibration. Re calibrate your monitor.

  • Watermark not printing

    Hello,
We recently migrated from Windows XP 32bit to Windows 7 64 bit Enterprise and now Adobe Reader does not print watermarks set on a printer i the printing preferences. The watermark prints from other software, like word but not Adobe Reader. Is there a setting in Adobe Reader that we a re missing?
We are using Adobe Reader version 11.0.2  and have updated one to version 11.0.10 but the watermark still does not print

The water marks is set in printing preferences on the printer and should appear on all documents that the user prints. But it does not work in Adobe Reader. The printer is Konica Bizhub 36, but it does not work on Lexmark x363dn either. We haven't tested it on any other printers.
Here is where we set the watermark (the printer's printing preferences). It prints from everywhere (word, Nitro PDF) except Adobe Reader. If I was't clear before - the text prints, only the watermark is missing.

  • Fonts not antialiased in GNOME

Hi all, I installed gnome on my arch linux installation last night. everything is running smoothly except for the fonts. They look jagged and i don't think they're antialiased. I've tried turning on "Subpixel Smoothing" in System > Preferences > Appearance > Fonts. I'm using "Sans 10" for my fonts at 95 dpi. How do I get my fonts to look good and not all jagged? tried looking in the wiki, but i couldn't find anything. any help appreciated. thanks.

Thanks for your reply, flamelab. I typed in "pacman -S cairo-cleartype freetype2-cleartype libxft-cleartype" but i get an error that those packages don't exist in the sync db... any thoughts? thanks again.
