Watermark & Resize Thousands of Images for Online Display

Hi there,
I am quite new to Photoshop, I have CS2 and I use Windows XP. I am in the process of completing my website to display the images that I have been taking for my clients to purchase. I have thousands (between 8-10,000 that need to go online. I have had help setting up actions to put a watermark on the images, and to also resize the images - 1 as a larger file to view and the other as a thumbnail image. At present, I am doing this all manually - can someone please help me and advise how I can save a lot of time in having to do this all manually or am I out of luck? Thank you very much for reading my question and I look forward to hearing if anyone is able to help.

>I have had help setting up actions to put a watermark on the images, and to also resize the images
Hello, Cindi. You can run an action on a whole folder at once. Just put all the images into a folder and point the action to that.
You have posted in the Photoshop Elements forum, though. You would do better to ask this question in the Photoshop forum.

  • How can we change the  color of the image for product display for different

    Hi All,
How can we change the  color of the image for product display for different colors, to be displayed on site.
    jeff

    Hi priya,
The requirement that you have stated is not a standard feature in ISA CRM. In order to do the same, you will need to modify the standard ISA code in Java. A common path for the solution would be as follows:
    1. Colours
        a. Maintain a text type for Color under the object - PCAT_ITM in Customizing.
        b. Modify the standard search of ISA to search within your new text type as well. (In standard it only searches in Description.
       c. Maintain all shirts colour data in the new type created in step a.
       d. Your requirement will be done!
    2. Price
      a. Use list prices for your shop and assign the appropriate condition type, acces in your catalog.
      b. Modify the standard search of ISA to search on the list prices as well.
      c. This too will be done!
    3. Accessories - This is very tricky, and will require some exploration. However, here's my opinion,
    a. Search for the standard function module, which will return the accessories when provided the product as an input.
    b. Modify this function module according to your requirement and ensure that it can be accessed remotely.
    c. Modify the JSP as in steps 1b and 2b above to call this new remote-enabled function module.
    d. Now you're done!!
The ISA modification part is not so simple, you need a really good guy like "Sateesh Chandra" who'll be able to handle your requirements. This is all I could manage, hope it is some help to you!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nelson.

  • Images for retina display still unclear

I just published my first site in muse, and I used a bunch of thumbnails made from photoshop buttons. For the desktop version, they are all 300x169. For the mobile version, I made them all 600x338 and then transformed them to 300x169 in Muse. I did this thinking it would be enough resolution for retina displays, but when I view it on my iPhone 6, they don't seem clear. When I email the same files to myself and open them on my iPhone, they are clear, but not on my published page. What did I do wrong?

vega9, thanks for the info via private message.
I expect the manually added meta tag for width was the incorrect solution to the problem. In general if a page is resizing incorrectly on phone or tablet devices, it's caused by content being outside the width of the page. Having content outside the page is often accidental (i.e. an empty text frame, the transparent area of a widget or container protruding beyond the page edge, etc) and easily corrected.
As of the images, they are crisp 2x retina images. If you zoom in on the crisp edges and see the stair steps of pixelation, in your case I believe that's due to the limitations of creating a smooth looking edge when the authoring application of the graphic doesn't know the background color.
The anti-aliasing approach used to create a very smooth looking edge on an LCD display requires knowing the background color. If you create a transparent PNG the edges can't use optimal anti-aliasing because the colors of the pixels that will behind the edges are not known. This results in the edges using a color agnostic approach to anti-aliasing, which is far better than no anti-aliasing but noticeably worse than LCD anti-aliasing.
The short answer is, bake the background color into your images when you can and set an opaque background fill on text frames that use System Fonts. If you create a version of your logo that's an opaque image with the blue background baked in, the edges will be sharper. (Note that you'll want to turn off the automatic opaque PNG to JPEG conversion in Site Properties in Muse to avoid JPEG compression artifacts around the sharp edges. Or make a single pixel in the original PNG slightly transparent, 99% opaque, in order to prevent Muse from converting the image to JPEG during output.)

  • How I resized the Small Image for a Product Module

I wanted a big picture for my small product module.
    1. I inserted {tag_largeimage} in place of {tag_smallimage} on the small product module.
Site Manager -> Module Templates -> Online Shop -> Individual Product Small.
The picture was 200 X 275. It was getting cut off.
    2. I open File Manager -> CSS and look in style.css for numbers smaller than those dimensions.
At the bottom, at lines 1594/1595 I found what I was looking for: "#content .shop-product-small .image".
    3. I increased the dimensions to 200*275. If your site is automatically generating a border you'll need to include them in the final dimensions.
The customer gets a better view of what I'm selling. I'm happy with the result. I hope this helps.

    Hi Steve,
You should just use the large product image, use _path to get the raw URL of the image and use the tumbnail generation code (see knowledgebase) and specify your dimensions. This allows you to use then properly use a large product image in your detail view

  • Discoverer portlet - Location of images for page display

Can anyone tell me where the portlet provider knows where to find the images that appear (like the expand button image on the list of worksheets portlet).
If I look at the url in the page source , it is referencing http://<myserver>:7780/....
    Is it hard coded somewhere?

Thank you for you reply. I have solved the problem after posting many topics on metlink and this forum. The problem that we had was after creating virtual hosts , the portlet provider seemed to update correctly except for the URL link to images on the HTML pages were pointing to the original host.
We had to manually edit the following configuration file (this was not documented anywhere however) and change the host C:\oracle\orabi\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\config\oc4j.properties

  • Resize photos for online use

I have been trying all afternoon to resize photos for online use and can not follow directions given.  I know it must be simple but I am stumped.  I would like to speak to a real person and I'm sure my problem will be solved in less than five minutes.  PLEASE do not tell me to follow guidelines; I have tried that.
    Kay Wilhelm

    Hi Kay,
As an example, let's say we're trying to prepare this 1000x664 pixel, 1MB image for online posting.
If the website you're posting to is giving you a maximum dimension, for example that the image has to be 600 pixels across or less, then follow these 4 steps:
    1. Go to File -> Save for Web
    2. In the Save for Web panel, look for the Image Size boxes.
    3. Enter the desired dimension.  For example, if the website you're trying to upload to requires that images be 600 pixels across, enter 600 in the Width box.  The height should recalculate automatically.
    4. Hit the Save button.  You will now have an image saved to the required pixel dimensions!
If the requirement is for a maximum file size, rather than specific file dimensions, you would follow a different procedure.  If we were trying to resize the same 1000x664 pixel, 1MB image to a size of 100KB or less, we would follow these steps:
    1. Go to File -> Save for Web
    2. In the upper right hand corner of the Save for Web panel, make sure the format is set to JPEG.  Our original image was a PNG, which tends to have a larger file size.  JPEG images tend to have a smaller file size.
    3. In the Save for Web panel, look for the projected size of the file as saved with the current settings.  This is below the lower left hand corner of the image.  In this case, it is 170KB, which is higher than our desired maximum size of 100KB.
    3.  The easiest way to control the file size at a given pixel dimension is by reducing the image quality.  The controls for image quality are in the upper right hand corner of the Save for Web panel.  The default setting for JPEG exports is 60%.
    4.  You will need to determine how far you want to reduce the image quality in your particular case.  In this example, we can reduce the quality from 60% to 40% without affecting the visible image quality too much.  Setting the quality to 40% reduces the image size to 99KB, which is below our maximum of 100KB.
    5. When you are satisfied with the quality settings, press Save to save your image.
    Hope this helps!

  • PDF Watermark - logo image is not displayed in ibr converted pdf

    Hi
I have enabled pdf watermark administration and configured image watermark with rule, if the content type is document then the image watermark is to be applied but it is not displayed to the converted word document to pdf by IBR.
If i change image watermark layer to "over", then image watermark is displayed, but word are displayed under the logo image watermark, so it is difficult to study the document.
If the native file is pdf, then its image watermark is working fine.
    Thanks
    Deepak

    Hi ,
I think this could be caused by the following :
Check the factor set for Transparency and if it is completely opaque (Transparency =0%) then the converted PDF's will not show watermarks which has Layer set to UNDER.
To get the watermarks displayed PPT's will need to be set to Transparency = 100% .
The intention of the UNDER watermarking layer is that it should appear"behind" whatever is in the content layer. If the content layer completely covers the page and is opaque, then nothing behind it will be visible, including watermarks. The only reasonable solution is to check the above mentioned value before submitting the PPT's for conversion so that users are aware of this behavior for PPT's
The above description if for PPT's where in this was found to be caused by the transparency factor of native PPT . If it is a word document then check for the same setting and set to 100% , then test .
    Hope this helps .
    Thanks,
    Srinath

    Hi Colette
Are you saying that there should be .hhc, .hhk, .hhp, etc. files for each topic?
Those are project files and you would not see one for each topic. There is one (maybe more, depending on what you are doing) for each project.
One thing you may wish to try is to enable the "Use lowercase file names" option in your SSL recipe.
After you do this, generate and publish again.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Changing Displayed Still Images for Podcasts

I just got iWeb up and running today. Everything is working great, except I can't figure out how to change the default thumbnail images that are assigned when I add new video files to my Podcast page.
Several of my video files start with a black frame and fade in, which is causing iWeb to display a black image for the Podcast on the Entries page. Is there an easy way to change this image without re-editing my videos?
I've searched the help menus and the discussion posts here. I was hoping that changing the associated artwork in GarageBand would fix this. I figured out how to add an image and resize it, but when I brought my video file in, the image I had edited added just disappeared and was replaced by a marker symbol.
I know the quick fix in DVD Studio Pro: open the inspector for the button, uncheck "motion", and set the little timeline to the frame you wish to use. Please help!
My other idea is to try to configure a links page for the videos myself, so that I can control the image used and just add a hyperlink. Suggestions?

I had the same problem and looked all over as well. I
ended up reopening my video clips in Final Cut..
adding one frame at the start of my still frame and
then rerendered it out to iweb. it works.. shows up
in the itunes store as well.
I can try that, but that ruins the fade in from black effect. I'm hoping there is an easier way. If not, maybe future versions...

  • I'm a photographer looking for a good (detailed) resource that will inform me of specifically how I should be saving my images for print/online

I've been working in photoshop for years but I've always gotten a bit lost on exactly what size I should be saving my photo's for optimal quality.
I basically need a good website that will go over all the aspects of saving images as a photographer, but if you can answer these questions that will also help.
    • What size/resolution should I save if I am giving the client images on a disk for them to print?
    • What size/resolution should I be saving photo's just for online viewing?
    • How come when I place my image (saved at 4in x 6in) into a new document that is (682px x 459px) the picture is pixelated?

Perhaps the best resource for all things digital media related, especially when it comes to best practices in the industry is
    dpbestflow.org
Specific answers to your 3 questions:
-generally, 300ppi at the final print size is good enough in most cases. If they are printing the image very large, like a poster or billboard image, then the print size at a lower resolution can be acceptable since it's being viewed from further away. Either always get the specs from the printer for what size/resolution they require, or just give them your full-sized original image, since that's all the pixels they can possibly have to work with.
-depends on every individual's monitor settings. If you supply an image that is HD-sized at 1920x1080, and they're using a monitor with a resolution at that size or greater, the whole image will fit on their screen. If their monitor resolution is smaller than that, your image will be bigger than they can display. Browsers, website coding, monitor resolution, all factor into how these will display on each individual computer. If you want the whole image to display within a browser window then you'll want your total pixel dimensions to be smaller than the average person's monitor resolution (unless you want them to be able to zoom in and see all the detail of your full-size image, then you would upload the full image and let your website do whatever it does to display smaller/thumbnail versions which can then be clicked on to open up the full-res version. Note, the actual resolution, e.g. 300ppi, doesn't factor into monitor display. PPI means it will PRINT that many pixels per inch of paper, and has nothing to do with how it will display on monitors which only concern themselves with pixel dimensions.
-682x459 is a rather small size. Of course it will lose detail. Just imagine if you scaled your image down further into a 10x10 pixel image. You'd have 100 pixels to make up all the detail in your image. Lots of detail will be lost since you've got a lot fewer pixels to make up the image.

  • Do I need to resize images for Keynote?

Do I need to resize images for Keynote? I have images in a variety of sizes and wonder if there is a minumum or maximum size recommended.
    Thank you!
    B

All depends on what the end product is; a slide show on a laptop or projected  20 feet wide in a theatre. For best performance, images should be created to match the document size in;  Inspector > Document > Slide size.
    The slide size should as a minimum match the screen resolution of the  Mac in;
system preferences > displays. The higher the number of  pixels the better the quality.
However, many images are supplied that are much smaller than are required, resulting in them being enlaged beyond there best.

  • Images were not displaying in the B2B web shop for the products

    Hi,
We have an issue with Product catalog images.we maintained images for the products and replicated(Initial) to TREX server, replication was successfull, but the images were not displaying in the b2b webshop for the products.
Anyone suggest what could be the problem?
    Regards,
    PV.

    Hi,
The problem could because of following issues.
    1) The replication is not done properly
    2) The XCM doesn't have Image server's settings(URL)
    3) The Image server is not reachable from ISA application.
    4) The image server is not connected through HTTP.
    Please check.

most times when I import photos from my desktop or dropbox to iPhoto, iPhoto will keep the title I created for the image as the display title under the image. but occasionally it displays the filename instead and I have to go back through and reenter the title in iPhoto. why the inconsistency? running OS 10.9.5 and using iPhoto 9.5.1

Try this:  select one of the photos that are showing the wrong title and use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Title to File Name menu option.
See if that will put the name that you want under the thumbnail.

  • Muse update to allow for hi-res images on Retina displays?

I understand that you can find a javascript file for static images, but I am looking to for better image quality on buttons as well since my navigation utilizes imagery. Does any one know if Adobe is addressing this issue?
    Any work-arounds in the meantime?
    Thanks!

For buttons there's a trick you might find handy.
To create a Photoshop button that outputs at Retina resolution you start by creating the button at twice the size (pixel dimensions) the button will be on your website. Then Place the button as you would normally and resize it down to half the size it came in at (so now it's the correct size for your site).
If you were to output your site now, the button fill/background images would be resampled/resized by Muse during output to be standard, non-Retina, resolution.
    Now the trick.
Take the text tool and double click on your button. This will convert the rectangle that is your button into a text frame. (A button is just a rectangle with background images set for the various possible states of a button.) You don't have to enter any text. Now when you output your site the original 2x resolution fill/background images for the states will be output.
    Why?
There are many different factors that can cause text to reflow or resize in different browsers. Thus text frames will in some cases be different sizes in different browsers or on different devices. Since a text frame might resize, Muse will, in most cases, not resample the background images on a text frame below 2x the original dimensions during output (since the additional image data may be necessary if the text frame grows larger in the browser).

  • Displaying image on canvas as background for joystick display

i am displating my joystick on canvas sucessfully and now i want to add a background image to it for better display please guide in detail. thanks in advance .. ahsan

Hello ahsan, you can use CanvasDrawBitmap to draw ain image on the canvas.
When searching for a function on a particular control, you can right-click on the control and choose "Control help" in the context menu: in case of the canvas you'll arrive to this help page where some useful resources are grouped. You can look at Programming with Canvas Controls to get some tip on how to use the control in you applications, of simply choose Canvas Control Functions to get a list of all function that can be used on that control. In this page CanvasDrawBitmap is listed.
Additionally, if you go to Help >> Find examples... and search for canvas, you'll get a list of sample projects related to that control: "Alphablend" is one of them that shows how to draw an image on the canvas.
By using these tips you'll be able to proceed in your work without necessarily wait for some forum user to help you.
