Ways to Make Flash Content Load Faster?

Hello,
I have a site I am working on that has a couple of Flash
items. I have been told that they load too slowly. What are some
ways to make them load more quickly?
Thanks.

Please refer to the topic "Not sure how i should go about
creating this flash to accomplish what i need." that was posted
yesterday. We discuss several ways to do this, albeit sort of
indirectly. That should give you more specific questions to ask.

  • Flash content loaded in IFRAME gets disappeared while applying transform:scale css property

I have an iframe loaded with a flash content inside, and i have to resize the iframe while browser window width changes. So i tried changing transform:scale() property on different media query cut-offs. But unfortunately firefox makes the flash content disappear while applying transform-scale property. Is there any way to overcome this?

  • Need to Make the DATA Load Faster

    Hi
I need to load the data from the source to the target like 90 tables. Is there any trigger on the table you're inserting? You could consider disabling constraints (in case any exists) if you're sure enough of the data you're inserting and no one else "touches" the table while you're working on it.

  • Is there a way to make internet connections work faster?

My wife has a Macbook and I have the MB Air and we are both running off Time Capsule. Many times when we are both using the internet it becomes a crawl, especially if TC is backing up or we are trying to use Mail or trying to view something on a web site.
I have seen some software out there that claims to speed things up and makes the connection work more efficiently. Does anyone have experience with this? The one recommended to me was IPNetrouterX which has good reviews but is very expensive.
    Thanks

It's a bandwidth issue - the size of the pipe, which you cannot work around. if your network is 100 Mb/s and you have three equal users, each gets about 33 Mb/s. You can't get more out of a network than you put in. The only solution is more bandwidth, a larger pipe. A 1 Gb/s network will be faster if yours is 100 Mb/s.
You can use a 1 Gb network if all your devices support that speed. Of course that will be your LAN or WAN speed. The speed to the internet is dependent on the bandwidth your ISP is providing you.
Don't confuse internet speed with local network speed. Your "internet" speed is constant, it's the sharing that is slowing the LAN.

  • Ways to make a Realignment run faster in DP in background job

    Hello:
We have to Realign some characteristics sometimes and it takes a really long time (over 40 seconds per record).  Sometimes we might have a couple thousand records to Realign and its a drain on the system and time consuming for the user.  Are there any parameters that can be tweaked to make this run more efficiently and faster in the background?  My BI person has compressed and indexed the database, but it only saved a couple seconds per record.
Should I ask the Basis team to help out?  I'm not sure if this is their area of expertise or not.
    Thanks!
    Andrea

    Pawan:
Thanks for suggesting this Note.  We can definitely reduce the amount of data in the Realignment.  We have 6 years of data in the cube, but only show 3 years online in APO.  I think we will purge some old data and see if it runs faster.  Also, our Basis team is looking at LiveCache parameters to see if any can be tweaked to increase the runtime of the job.
    Best Regards,
    Andrea

  • Is there a way to make a podcast load quicker?

A pc person friend of mine who was looking at my new website told me that I should be able to split the podcast and that way it will play sooner when my site is visited. Does anyone know what he was talking about and if so, can you put it in English so even a simpleton like me can understand? If it can't be done his way is there another way other than making my podcasts shorter. Thanks!!

  • Does GPU upgrade makes Flash Pro Cs6 faster?

    Hi,
I have been using Flash Pro cs6 for character animation and when i zoom in zoom out the response is slow and also when i am scrolling to may timeline.
I have lots of symbols and tweening.
I notice that when I use the pc in the office its much smoother so i am planning to upgrade my own pc at home.
    I have:
    Amd Phenom II X4 840
    8 gb ram
    ATI Firepro v4800
I have a limited budget so i am thinking if i upgrade my GPU with Asus GTX strix 960 2gb, will it solve the issue?

No. GPU acceleration is only used on playback of published files and for video decoding. Your main processor is the bottleneck here.

  • Make 'dictionary app' load faster?

    Hi,
I use mac's app, 'dictionary', pretty often.
I'm used to 'SPOTLIGHTING' into the app, which then takes about 1-2 seconds to load. I then 'COMMAND-Q' it.
Is there anyway to have it load quicker than 1-2 seconds? Like.. instant? Similar to 'Dashboard'?
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Make iWeb pages load Faster - DIY tips

Like many other "i" apps from Apple iWeb is an "abstraction layer" builder which is what allows it to be a mostly WYSIWYG site creator. But the downside is that because you can't edit code (and personally I don't want to be an HTML code monkey) that means iWeb has to use some hidden, under-the-hood tricks to create some of the "pretty" graphic elements we all like to see, such as shadows, borders, reflections, etc.
After building a couple sites that weren't very complex I noticed photos and other graphics were taking far too long to load compared to other, similar sites and wondered what was causing the slow page-loading times. By using tools like RAGE iWeb SEO Tool and, the built-in page inspector in Safari I was able to see exactly what was going on under the surface: iWeb has to use JavaScript code to create and build things like borders on objects or photos, reflections, shadows and even non-web-safe colors.
For example, a simple colored border around a box gets converted into several segments of lines that are individual PNG's! That means instead of a single boxed-element the browser has to instead load all these separate PNG files and literally "builds" the border around the shape - or photo image. That takes a lot of extra time to process - and some browsers can't even read the code properly and don't build them at all during display.
So here's how you can build a better graphics-heavy page in iWeb and reduce this JavaScript processing time:
    1. Try to reduce the use of borders around graphic elements as much as possible.
    2. When you want a reflection, shadow, border or even perspective change on a photo or image file, use this application to create those effects instead: http://www.acqualia.com/picturesque/. This can build all those elements INTO the image file and can output it as an optimized PNG. Otherwise, every effect has to be built in Javascript separately by the browser - and also explains why some browsers like FireFox are unable to even display shadows created by iWeb.
    3. Although iWeb '09 will do it's best to scale-down large photo files it's best to do that work in a photo editing program first. Image files - unless they are going to be really huge - should be 150k in size, or smaller.
    4. When possible use web-safe colors for page color, backgrounds, shape-objects etc. only. This is especially important for Windows browsers which can easily get confused with iWeb created code.
If you've noticed slow loading times on your iWeb sites these tips should help speed things up quite a bit - especially when it comes to images with effects.
    Cheers.

  • Flash load faster

    Good morning,
Is here any thing that I can do to compress my flash
document in flash to load faster or is there anything that I can do
in the html page to help my flash to load faster.
    Thank You,

There's nothing you can do in HTML. The best method to make
    your Flash load
faster is to externalize the content - ie all images, text,
    etc. can be
placed externally. You can also separate your movie into
    different
areas/swf's. Instead of having just one swf, you'd have a nav
    movie, and
various content movies that the nav movie manages. This is
    how most pro
    level sites are created.
