WBS Hierarchy Logic build up with dynamic values

Hello ABAP Crew.
I currently using BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN, and I have to pass I_WBS_HIERARCHIE_TABLE with the hierarchy table made by me.  Does anyone have a logic on how to do this from values within a table?
Here are the values coming from a proxy:
111520
111520-111234
111520-111234-19
111520-111234-19-1
111520-111234-19-2
111520-111234-20-1
111520-111234-20-4
The purpose is to place this into the table of I_WBS_HIERARCHIE_TABLE in the UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT  format.
Now the problem is, the list of values received will always be different.
Thanks.

Hi Jotorres,
Did you get a response for this question about WBS hierarchy logic build up with dynamic values? I have been trying to build it up myself, but its getting increasingly difficult. I wanted to know how you resolved this issue?
Thanks a dozen !

  • Unit test with Dynamic Value Query

    Hi,
I am planing a function which should return a table name for a given ROWID. The ROWID will be selected from a view. Now I am trying to setup a unit test which consists of Startup and Teardown Process as well as a Dynamic Value Query. During Startup Process one dataset is inserted in a table which is part of a view definition. The dataset should be selected during Dynamic Value Query. However I am getting the following error message: Unable to run the test because no rows were returned by the dynamic query. Is there the possibility that within a Dynamic Value Query I can't make use of datasets which where inserted by a Startup Process? I am asking because the selection outside the unit testing framework supplies the dataset as expected.

    Regards.

Dynamic SQL is very tricky.  Since you can get the data outside your application extract and test the dynamic SQL as it is generated.  When working with dynamic SQL I find it useful to first generate the SQL text as a string and then if necessary store it in a table (CLOB type) for later reference.  Because of the uncertainty of obtaining bind variable values later I prefer to hard-code such values into dynamic SQL - possibly slightly less efficient for Oracle at run time but a lot easier to work with when debugging and tuning (again, apart from the built-in inefficiency of not using bind variables)  I usually find the overhead of the hard-coded values not too bad and the ability to know the data values at a glance useful.  I also find it useful to write dynamic SQL in such a way so that the resulting statement can be pasted in to any normal SQL tool (SQL*PLUS, SQL*Developer) and run without any editing.
There may be some quirk in the generated dynamic SQL preventing it from finding anything.
    Good luck.

  • Need to create OAF new Button Item with Destination URI with dynamic value

Would like to add a personalization to a OAF page, with adding a new button Item. Behind the button item, one of the properties we would like to set is Destination URI, and we would like to have this with a dynamic value from the Page we are on.
Let's say we are on the OAF page for customers. One of the fields is Customer Account Number. This is one of the Attributes from the View Object that the page is built on. So we want to take a value from an Attribute, and use this in the Destination URI value. That is what I mean by dynamic. It depends on what record from the database we are looking at on the OAF page.
In this case it is View Object is 'HzPuiCrUpCustActVO' and the Attribute is 'AccountNumber'
Does that make sense? can we reference an View Attribute value in the Destination URI? How can this be done?
    Thanks!

    Kristofer,
This does make it clearer, as far as using the personalization property to reach another OAF page.
I would like to build a custom page for the destination, but I did not want to necessarily the page to be another OAF/jsp page.
One thing we might want to do is build an APEX page. so this Destination URI might have to start with something like http://oraserver.mycompany.com:7779/pls/apex/f?p=
Another option we might want to use is to just have the destination resolve to a custom URL that includes a parameter value like http://mycompany.com/1905 where 1905 is the account number from the Customer Account OAF page.
Any ideas, or is this even possible?

  • Map the parameter with dynamic value.

    Hi,
can be map our variable with some dynamic values??
like suppose I have a variable in which I want to fill current value every time like current date or current time to my variable.
is there any way to customize the variable in this way?
    thnx

In OFT you can generate user variables by:
Edit -> Databank Wizard -> Add Variable; then select Internal - Specify Expression as the type then you can enter Date() in the expression text field, to call the system date or Time() to call the system time.
Unfortunately since the removal of VBA that is all OFT can do
In OpenScript however you can use Java code view to substitute the parameter value with any Java expression, or for the date you can change the parameter value for *{{@today(MM/dd/yyyy)}}* which will return the date with the format MM/dd/yyyy, calling *{{@today(dd/mm/yyyy)}}* would return the current date with the format dd/mm/yyyy etc ...
There is a list of pre-build functions on the help files, and if you need something that is not there and have not Java skills you can post the specific question here and I'm sure someone will post the code.

  • Accessing DefaultValues for parameters with dynamic values

We have a custom user interface we place in front of all Crystal Reports (to maintain look&feel) that reads the parameters from the report and dynamically generates controls for user input.  The only time this doesn't work is for parameters that have dynamically generated default values.  If there is a static list of default values then we get the list from the DefaultValues collection; but if the list is dynamic then the collection is empty.
Is there a way to force this collection to be populated, or alternatively, a way to find out what SQL query is being used to populate the parameter list?

I think you may be out of luck. Dynamic cascading parameters (DCPs) are a relatively late addition to the Crystal Reports product line, and the Crystal Reports SDKs haven't caught up to that yet. Currently we don't have SDK access to dynamic value collections, including the SQL queries made for them. The most we can do at the moment is determine whether the parameter field uses dynamic or static values.

  • How to replace part of column name with dynamic value

I have the following construction in an update transaction:
    $upd_blg_user_usr->addColumn("report_1_user", "NUMERIC_TYPE", "VALUE", "{rsCatReport.id_report}");
The dynamic value, {rsCatReport.id_report}, gets a url variable.
I want this variable to replace the "1" in the column name "report_1_user". Something like this:
    $upd_blg_user_usr->addColumn("report_{rsCatReport.id_report}_user", "NUMERIC_TYPE", "VALUE", "{rsCatReport.id_report}");
That construction, however, does not work. Prevents the page from loading. I've tried different constructions but have not hit one one that works.
First, I'm not sure anything will work and second, if some different construction will work, I don't know what it is.
Can anyone answer these questions. Thanks in advance for your help.

What? Are you some kind of genius?
Yes that works perfectly. Thanks as always!
Here's the rationale. The same basic form appears on many different pages. The only difference among the forms is the outcome of submitting the form. The form on different pages takes you to a different download page and a database column is marked to signify that the user downloaded that form. For instance:
    report_1_usr
    report_2_usr
    report_3_usr
    And so forth...
Up to now each form has had to include the url variable so the submit would take the user to the right download page and it has had to include a unique reference to the correct database column.
Now I can echo or insert that url variable all over the place, including the reference to the column name in the transaction, so I can use a single instance of the form and include it on all pages.
Thanks for helping me figure out the last step.

  • Build applications with dynamic loaded subVI's as dll

I want to build an application with some subVI's. The target would be to have an *.exe from the topVI and a seperate file for every subVI (I suppose this will then be a *.dll file)
The topVI uses the "call by reference node" with a "type specifier VI refnum" reference.
The path of the subVI's is read from a textfile and the subVI's are called dynamicly, all subVI's have the same connector layout.
Until now I was not able to generate a *.exe file wich is able to dynamicly call subVI's which are not included in the *.exe file (I tried with *.vi, *.llb and *.dll versions of the subVI's).
Building this application with all subVI's included in the *.exe is no problem and works fine, but is not what I want.
The target would be to have the possibility to update only some subVI's without the need to build the whole application again.
This way of working would increase the flexibility to have different combinations of versions a lot.
    I am using LV8.2.
Is my question anyway possible and if yes can somebody tell me how?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
A SubVI is actually what you call a sub-routine in text-based programming languages.
So when you build an executable from a VI with SubVI's, it will simply build everything into one exe file.
    That's normal behaviour.
If you would like to use dll's for flexibility, than you have to build VI's seperately for every dll you want to build.
These dll's can than be called from within you main application executable.
This practice is often used by system integrators to protect there code otherwise than a larger executable, but mainly because of easy maintenance.
That is what I think you are also looking at.
So what you would like to do is perfectly possible and common practice, you may only have to change your top view of the actual application.

  • Problem building exe with dynamic vi

Hi all, i'm using LV 8.2 evaluation version to build an executable file for my test platform. This platform calls for individual test vis dynamically.
I can export the platform vi into exe alright but it always fail to run the test vis dynamically when called by the platform. I know the platform is working alright as it's able to successfully traverse through all my operating states, but when it comes to the state which contains a subVI which calls these test vis dynamically, nothing happens and it just proceed with the next state. The even wierder thing is that the program then enters my default state (which isn't even on the list of states for that particular operating mode!)
Based on this result i can say that the platform is working fine as it was able to call various subvis and traverse through the defined states (except for the default state case). Thus i guess it must be something which i did wrongly during the build process which caused it not to run my dynamic test vis. I spent the whole day trying various build options but it still doesn't run my dynamic vis.
    Any ideas?
PS: Does the build process automatically import the MAX settings?

No, it's not a cracked version just to make myself clear.
Dennis, i don't think it's a problem with the path as the exe does not have any problem loading other text configuration files. Yes, i've included them under the dynamic vi and support files option.

  • Passing Configuration Details with Dynamic Value - SFTP Adapter

    Hi:
We are using SFTP adapter to get and load the files to a secured location. Now there is one more secured location which has IP address where we need to load the same file in that location.
So is it possible to make the configurations in Deployments --> FTP Adpter in Weblogic server as dynamic, so that we can use the same JNDI while configuring in JDeveloper to connect different secured locations

    Hi,
I think it's unlikely you can achieve this by the way FtpAdapter is configured, it's done via deployment plan, so it is at deployment time.
It seems like you need something able to be aware of modifications at run time, maybe if you can find the FtpAdapter mbean there may be something you can do at runtime.
But I tend to think that SFTP servers don't appear and disappear overnight, so it wouldn't worth the effort to build something that wouldn't change that often.

  • Defining Variant with Dynamic values

I want to schedule a report say Me2N so that every day it will give me purchase orders created today. I am defining variant for it. How to define Document date in variant so that every day it takes currrent system date.

    Hi,
In the ME2N transaction code when you are saving the variant, you can set up the status of field. Here if you will scroll right you can see last three columnu2026SELECTION VARIABLE, OPTION AND NAME OF VARIABLE(input only using F4)
Now in the third last column (SELECTION VARIABLE) press F4 and select the D(Dynamic date calculation) and after this click on last column from right side NAME OF VARIABLE and select the CURRENT DATE and save the varient.
Now this variant will take the document date every day as a todayu2019s date.
    I hope it will help.

  • Populating dynamic values in the combobox with XML form Builder.

I am trying to  populate dynamic value in the combobox with xml form builder. I  see the document saying create property group and document property Id with respecitive values.  I am able to create the property group with system admin -> System config
-> KM -> CM -> Global services  -> property Metadata -> groups  with new button. and I  am trying to create document property Id with value. I am not able to find the way to give  value in the property.   I am using  EP 7.0 Sp 14.  Please let me know how to sovel it

    Hi
You can create new property metadata with System Admin > System Config > KM > CM > Global services > Property Metadata > Properties > New. Specify the values for this metadata as the ones you need to have in the combo box. Use allowed values parameter of the matadata to sepcify the values. Each metadata property will have unique property ID and you can map this property ID to your combo box in xml forms.
    Give it a try.

  • Input query with dynamic actual & forecast values by month per year

    Hello,
I am working on a Input ready query for a forecasting application which shows both actuals and forecast numbers and the user will revise the forecast numbers by month
Requirement: I want to build a Input query for monthly forecasting for the current year. It will be dynamic rolling of months with actuals & forecast data.
E.g. My report has 12 months for the current year
and if run the report in May, the months before May has to show the actuals and the months after May has to show the old forecast data so that the user will revise the numbers again in each month and save the data to the real time cube.
    Jan.Feb.Mar.Apr.May.Jun.Jul.Aug.Sept.Nov.Dec
Act Act  Act Act Act  Old frcst for the remaining months
user will revise forecast for these months
So, i am able to create Input query with all restricted key figures( plan kf has change mode set to change, actual kf are not set change) and calculate key figures and all the logic is done on dynamically moving/rolling the data based on the input month of the year.
But the problem is that i am using cal kf to dynamically roll months, i was not able to set the change option for the cal kf.
So, how can i make sure that the dynamically changed plan months will open for entering forecast and the actuals months not to change?
Do you guys have any better solutions in implementing it?
I really appreciate it your input....:)
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Hi,
Please look at the following DOC which may be useful to you and if so please grant me point.
    Regards,
    SUbha'
    Input-Ready Query
    Use
You use input-ready queries to create applications for manual planning. These can range from simple data entry scenarios to complex planning applications.
    Integration
You define a query that you want to use for manual planning in the BEx Query Designer (see Defining New Queries).
In the Web Application Designer or the BEx Analyzer, you can combine the input-ready queries with other queries and planning functions to create complex planning applications.
    Prerequisites
You can define an input-ready query on any of the following InfoProviders:
    ●     Aggregation levels (see Aggregation Levels)
    ●     MultiProviders that include at least one simple aggregation level
The aggregation levels are created in the planning modeler; MultiProviders are defined in the modeling functional area of the Data Warehousing Workbench.
    Features
    Definition of an Input-Ready Query
Once you have defined a query on an InfoProvider, you see the Planning tab page under the Properties of structural components (for example, in key figures or restricted key figures). The options provided there allow you to determine which structural components of an input-ready query are to be input ready at runtime and which are not. With structural components that are not input ready, you can also determine whether these components are viewed as reference data or are just protected against manual entry.
For the structural components, you also have the following options:
Input readiness of structural components of a query
    Option
    Description
    Not input ready (reference data)
If they are being used as reference data, the structural components are not protected by data locks to ensure exclusive access for one user because this data serves as a reference for many users.
    This is the default setting.
Not input ready (no reference data)
If you want to protect structural components against manual entries but allow changes by planning functions, you can use locks to protect this data for one particular user. In this way you can ensure that the planning function works with the displayed data only and not with data that has been changed by other users.
    Input ready
You can also determine whether an input ready query is to be started in change mode or in display mode. You find this property in the Query Properties on the Planning tab page. If there is at least one input-ready query component, the query (as long as it has not been determined otherwise) is started in display mode.
In BI applications that use input ready queries as data providers, you can enter data manually at runtime. For more information, see Performing Manual Planning and Creation of Planning Applications.
    Example
You want to create an input-ready query for manual planning for a plan-actual comparison of revenues for a set of products. You want the plan data in a real-time-enabled InfoCube and the actual data in a standard InfoCube.
           1.      Create a MultiProvider that includes the InfoCubes for the plan and actual data.
           2.      Define an aggregation level on the MultiProvider which contains the characteristic Product and the key figure Revenue.
           3.      On the aggregation level, create two restricted key figures Plan Revenue and Actual Revenue. For restriction, choose the characteristic 0INFOPROV and restrict it to the plan or actual InfoCube.
           4.      Add the restricted key figures to the key figure structure. Insert Product into the rows. For Plan Revenue, choose Input Ready for the input-readiness option. For Actual Revenue, choose the option Not Input Ready (Reference Data).
           5.      In the query properties, set the indicator that determines whether the queries are started in display or change mode as required.
    Example of an input-ready query
    Product
    Plan Revenue
    Actual Revenue
    P01
    20
    P02
    30
If you want to keep actual and plan data in a real-time enabled InfoCube, you do not require a MultiProvider for the task described above. Create an aggregation level on the InfoCube and define the input-ready query for the aggregation level. In the example above, a version characteristic acts as the InfoProvider. Create restricted key figures with the plan or actual version and proceed as in the previous example.

  • Making Worksheet logic work with Dynamically expanding report

    Hello,
Sorry if its basic, but I am trying to understand how can I make worksheet logic work with dynamically expanding reports? Because if the expansion parameters change, it stops producing correct values for me. Please advise.
    Thanks.

    Hi Zack,
    Now I understood your problem.
Actually, when the expansion changes, it deletes the columns, and then shifts the subsequent columns with the appropriate expansion. So, if you have the formula somewhere in between, you will lose it. If you put it in the beginning, then it will be copied to all the cells. You need to put it at the end. But, you are saying this is viable for your scenario.
My suggestion would be you can try to break the single expansion into multiple expansions using the pipe (|) character, and place the formula in one of them.
    Hope this helps.

  • Dynamic action with set value on date field

    Hi,
    I'm using APEX 4.02
I'm trying to calculate the age based on the date of birth dynamically on a form. I'm trying to do this with a (advanced)dynamic action with set value.
I'm able to get this kind of action working based on a number field etc, but NEVER on a date field.
I've read all posts on this subject but so far no solution. Even if I try to simply copy the value over to another date field or typecast it to a string ( to_char function ) it does not work. So for me the problem seems to be in the source field being a date field.
I've tried using the source value as is in a select statement :
    select :P33_GEBOORTEDATUM from dual;
and also type casted based on the date format :
    select TO_DATE(:P33_GEBOORTEDATUM,'DD-MON-YYYY') from dual
    but still no luck.
On the same form I don't have any issues as long as the calculation is based on number fields, but as soon as I start using dates all goes wrong.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you need any extra info just let me know.

    Hi,
Create a dynamic action named "set age" with following values.
    Event: Change
    Selection Type: Item(s)
    Item(s): P1_DATE_OF_BIRTH
    Action: Set value
    Fire on page load: TRUE
    Set Type: PL/SQL Expression
