WD ABAP stuffs

Anybody can send me ABAP Dynpro Pdf, step to steps stuffs.
Thanks
Anil Mishra

Hi Anil,
Welcome to WebDynpro for ABAP!
As the name suggests Web Dynpro for ABAP uses exactly the same meta model as its cousin Web Dynpro for Java. A Web Dynpro component, a Web Dynpro view, a Web Dynpro model, a Web Dynpro controller have the same semantics both for ABAP and Java. The main difference is the designtime environment, the development infrastructure and the runtime environment.
The designtime environment is properly embedded in the ABAP Workbench where Web Dynpro artifacts are simply a new category like BSP applications or classical dynpro based applications before. Also no surprises regarding the development infrastructure. The correction and transport system keeps track on all changes that are done, versions them and helps to propagate the Web Dynpro application from development to production like you would do with ordinary BSP or dynpro-based applications.
Last not least the execution platform is the ABAP server that produces application content ready to be integrated in the NetWeaver Portal seamlessly. Features like portal eventing can be used between applications written in ABAP or applications developed with Java.
First of all start doing SAP SDN tutorials .
Create some compenents with BAPI , Component usage and ALV .

Try to Download demo tutorials from SDN library & Try to search WebDynpro ABAP WebLogs .
Wait not just that SAP has provided you with ample demo example of WD ABAP already bundled with SAP . Just Try out Components starting with WDR . I can tell you few like WDR_TEST_EVENTS ( It shows how every UI elments to use )
See packages like SWDP_DEMO , SALV_WD_DEMO
there are many more .

The specified item was not found.
If you need some standard examples then do WDR* and you'll get a big list in se80 transaction. Also SWDP_DEMO is a good package to refer to. Check for WDR_TEST_UI_ELEMENTS and WDR_TEST_EVENTS for UI operations and their various events.
Hope this will help you.

  • ABAP IS-Retail

    Hi,
I am an ABAP Consultant and am newly into IS-Retail module. I may be working mostly on Reports,Scripts and User Exits.Could anyone let me know how IS-Retail can be significantly different from other modules technically (not functionally).I know either it is any module , the ABAP programming doesn't change but am just curious about any info that I can go through which is more related to ABAP in IS-RETAIL like T-codes,Imp tables, Pricing scenarios etc. that I need to aware of.I apologize if there is a similar thread on ABAP IS-Retail but I hardly couldn't find any.I am really looking forward if anyone could help me with this in programming perspective.
    Thanks,

    Hi Sunil,
Its my own personal view that ABAP for Industry Modules is more process oriented rather than core advanced ABAP. This means, you would be doing all same normal ABAP stuff except that it would be more of a already existing process enhancements for customer requirement.

  • FREE software for creating VM's (also Linux and MAC).  Good for ABAP+JAVA

For anybody not wanting to spend money on vmware or parallels you can run this stuff very easily on LINUX, WINDOWS or MACs
    http://www.virtualbox.org/
It's free open source and works really well --excellent documentation.
I find using VM's on the whole a decent solution to installing various SAP Netweaver trial products -- saves the hassle of re-installing / uninstalling stuff. Just junk the VM and use a new one.
Another great idea is to have 2 VM's so you can concurrently have both the JAVA and ABAP stuff without problems --ensure your "Real" machine has plenty of RAM memory if you do this --suggest 4GB as a minimum.
    Cheers

When Disk Utility and Toast 6 Titanium are not working, then there is probably something wrong with the DVD-writter or the image you want to burn.

  • "The Mystery of the Deck", or, "Is SAP a Nondeterministic Automaton?"

    Please note:
    1) There is a serious question embedded within this post;
    2) The post is not meant as a criticism of the subscription stack - I know what I fool I am for trying to run it under VM on a 4-year old Dell 8200 with 1G overall RAM.
    That being said ...
Some of you low-lifes out there (Chris S?) have probably played a hand or two of Hollywood Gin (Rummy) for money stakes such as "straight half", "quarter-nickel-quarter", "world, solarsystem, universe", etc.  So you know that each hand starts with both players being dealt 10 cards, while the remaining 32 are placed between the two players in a face-down "stack" or "deck" (except for one that is placed face up next to the "deck".)
And therefore, it is safe to conclude that at least some of you low-lifes have probably asked the same question that generations of "gin" players have asked:
Does the order of the cards in the "deck" change after it is has been placed face-down on the table?
Since no one knows the answer to this "for sure", and in fact, cannot know the answer to this for sure, this mystery is known as "the mystery of the deck".
Why am I bothering to tell you this?
Well, I've spent the last seaveral days trying to get the NW7 subscription stack to run in 750M of a VM on my old Dell 8200 with just 1 gig of RAM overall.
And as you would expect, the WDA application DEMO_TABLE kept on timing out.
So I set timeout and proctimeout to -1 in the startup profile and changed max_wprun_time dynamically in RZ11 and chose a simpler demo application (DEMO_SIMPLE_MAIN).
Well, after a few minutes, the window for this app finally popped.
    But here's the funny thing.
Since I knew everything was actually working as it should, I figured I'd try "DEMO_TABLE" one more time.
It popped in about 30 seconds.
So unless one of you "least-recently-used-page-gurus" knows why this happened, I will have to conclude that:
    a) SAP, or at least the NW7 subscription stack, is really a non-deterministic automaton (intentionally or unintentionally);
    b) yes, the order of the cards does change in the deck after the hand of gin has been dealt.

    Hey Rich -
Yeah - that sounds reasonable - thanks very much for taking the time to mention it.
But one puzzle - the Basis guy who was helping me out for the install says that for the regular ABAP stuff (not the WDA) stuff, the compiles "persist" across a server down/up.  Meaning that when something compiles for the first time, it doesn't have to be recompiled after a server down/up.
Is this true for the regular stuff (non-WDA)?
And if so, why not for the WDA as well? Why would stuff have to recompile each time the server is brought up?
Also, the Basis guy thought it might also have something to do with SAP being smart enough not to keep swapping stuff in/out that's never used - so eventually, the amount of "thrashing" decreases and the machine gets to do some actual work.
Glad you're not too busy with your new responsibilities to post here occasionally.
Have your wife and kids told you yet that you gotta find a job that gets you out of the house?

  • HR/ HCM performance management

    Dear fellow abapers,
I would like to build up a custom HR application (like portal or something) to let the manager and the employee to sit and agree on some future targets they will evaluate during the next meeting. I would like to know if there is some "tidy" way to store this dynamic goals/ targets, because I think that would not be a good way to create a custom appraisal template for every man.
Can anybody help me to use SAP standard to store these dynamic goals?
I have asked this question in HCM forum, but I got a single sentence answer which didn´t help. I would like to know more about the functions, data tables and all the fancy ABAP stuff around the topic. Can anybody give me a hand please?
    Thank you all, reagrds, Otto

  • Would like to disable HTTP and use only HTTPS yet I get side effects

    Hello,
I have established a secure connection between the AS ABAP and AS Java.
I would like assure that all communication between the servers is using https and for that, as a test, I have deactivated the http service using SMICM transaction.
The only side effect I could recognize so far is that the Web Dynpro for ABAP stuff doesn't work through transaction SE80, the working area simply doesn't come up. If I activate HTTP again it is working.
Am I doing the right thing by disabling HTTP completely and if yes, what else do I need to do in order to prevent this side effect from happening?

If I get some nice approvals on my app spree in 10 days, I would like to close Talbots and Abercrombie and Fitch store cards. Total CL for the 2 is $2,700 ($1,350 each)  but I can make up for that closure and utilization loss by getting quite a bit more than those amounts on majors during my app spree. Talbots has only been open 4 months, A&F one year. I have other cards that are the same age or older so should not majorly affect AaoA. Thoughts? I know some will say don't close cards, but they're store cards and I don't need to be responsible for store cards I don't use.If you have no use for them and don't foresee using them in the future then you should probably close them out.  They won't affect your AAoA as the cards will stay in your reports for 10 years.  No sense in keeping cards that you don't want just to take up room in your sock drawer.

  • Heavy server load with few users

    Hi,
i'm running a flash media server 2.0.4 on linux and a
video/audio-flashchat. When i have about 9 Users, 3 sending, all
others just watching, the network-traffic is acceptable (200kb/s
out, 50kb/s in) but the cpu-load is incredible high. On average fms
uses 20-30% and partitially even 80%. This server has a Dual-Core
    AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 1212 with 3gb ram.
Is such a load normal? If i wanted to do a videochat then
with about 100 users i'd then need about 8-10 servers!
Plz tell me how to go on with this or how to cut the load
    down to an acceptable one.
    Thanks in advance
    Azrael

In fact it is probably simpler than this but can be a few things.
If you look at the performance in a quiet system the response time is high. That is because it is only Basis transactions running and they normally have long response times. Many users normally means a better response time up to a point. Especially when you include RFC's into the equation as they perform far better as they have no screen processing
A more likely and common on every system type problem is this. One user runs a transaction that takes 20 seconds and you have 5 users in the same 5 minutes that take 1 second. The average response time will be over 4 seconds. But if it was 100 users with a response of 1 second and 1 user with 20 seconds then the response time would be closer to 1 second. 1 single user running a transaction that takes 2 minutes will really screw up your average response time which is why it is a poor performance measurement.
The standard dialog response time is a far better option. An ABAP runs that writes data to an empty table, updates the table and deletes from the table. It then does some ABAP stuff in memory like square roots. If your servers and DB are performing well then your average response time will be a flat line and any spikes indicate performance problems.

  • Port 81$$ not mapped to J2EE

    Hi,
I have a strange problem with an ABAP+Java (Add-In installation) of CRM 2007:
Normally (i.e. in normal Netweaver 7.0 installations) when I enter http://:8100 the start page of the Java-Stack (the same page I get when directly accessing the J2EE via http://:50000) appears. As far as I know it is ICM that redirects 8100 to 50000.
But within a new CRM installation this does not work which means that when I open http://:8100 I get a "page does not exist" error (I get the same error when trying to open the Portal via http://:8100/irj/portal).
The direct link to http://:50000 is working. When I directly call a bsp application via http://:8100/sap/bc/etc it is also working. My problem is that I need to access the Portal of this system via SAP Web Dispatcher and for this the link http://:8100/irj/portal has to work.
Does anybody have an idea what can be wrong? ICM is running and ok, the system parameters for the icm/http ports are the same like for other Netweaver 7.0 systems where it is working.
    Thanks,
    Jürgen Weiß

    Hi,
thanks for your reply but these parameters are set (otherwise the direct access to bsp applications like http://:8100/sap/bc/etcetc would not work either) are properly set.
The strange thing is that I can access all WebAS ABAP stuff via this port but whenever Java comes into the game (e.g. when accessing /irj/portal) it says "page does not exist".
    Br,
    Jürgen.

  • Help -Confused -- WHAT Trial CE version to download (JAVA stack)

    Hi all
I'm totally confused by the JAVA CE environment download options -- CE 7.1 with SP xxx , with EHP, the new CE 7.2 etc etc.
All I want to do initially is trial out some JAVA web dynpro and java develpments on a stand alone laptop.
What version do I need to download and get running. I also would need the eclipse Netweaver Development studio.
All the install docs I've seen are a bit complex to follow and seem to want to connect this stuff to central servers. I really want to be able to test on a LOCAL stand alone workstation.
I can connect to an ABAP server if I need to as I have the latest ABAP trial running fine on a Virtual Machine. I don't have any trouble running a number of virtual machines.
So can somebody more knowlegeable than myself please guide me to UNDERSTANDABLE documentation
    1) What do I actually need to download
    2) How do I install it (all pieces - both server and Developer studio)
    3) PLEASE -- BECAUSE THIS IS ALWAYS THE MISSING PIECE -- WHAT DO I DO NEXT TO DEVELOP AND TEST A JAVA WEB DYNPRO ON THE WORKSTATION USING THE SOFTWARE I'VE DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED.
The ABAP stuff was fine  but I really want to try my hand at JAVA developments now.
    Cheers

Download Java 6, the current version. Some of the stuff you mention is not part of that - you'll need to get that from the appropriate 3rd-party source.

Why did you go into IT?
The reasons I went into IT are as follows:
    1.  I already knew programming before going to College, and thought it would be easy learning computers in College!
    2.  I liked programing and working with computer applications.
    3.  I wanted to travel, working all over the world, and thought that I would be able to get a job in many different countries in IT.

I don't know fortunately or Unfortunately, How I found my self in IT!
Since Childhood I was complete sports person. I represent U-15, U-17,U21 for Rajasthan. I splurged my whole teenage all in Cricket. In My education I had one year Gap only because of we had to visit Sri lanka for couple of matches against Gale Sports Club (Formerly known as President Academy). We were lost with huge margin. I was scattered and complete disappointed, however right after I got selected in National Squad (only for training camp). But still meanwhile I managed myself to get admission into Engineering (Yes on payment seat ). I was below average student in subjects of science but at the same time I was crazy about Maths (Only because I used-to to count Runs and Required Rate all the time ).
So the year from "99 to "03 was the key for my career (with aspect of sports and education wise both). In First Year of Engineering I through without any Compartment. But In Second Year I got stuck in 2 Subjects But I was least bother about this as my sports career had not been affected. Yes Due to sports my Education career had always been penetrating.Guys believe me in my four year of Engineering life I only wrote one Program from myself which was Swapping the values of A and B without using third variable, that was in C++
However,Finally by hook or crook I managed my self in 03 in Final Year(Yes Final Semester too, No compartment Had Been carry forward ) In my through Life, I only took myself away from Cricket in Final Semester because now I wanted to Through in my Education. Only because my instincts and somebody says from inside I spend 3 and half year with cricket and Education so I must through when my Ship was almost on the shore.
Finally I got a chance to work in company where SAP ECC was about to Implement. I donu2019t know from where I got inspiration and courage to work rather than sport but yes I preferred to work there. Since now Iu2019m in SAP and I left a Cricket way back.
