WDABAP: refresh all views or reset window

Hi all,
I have a window that has a number of views in it and a popup window that has another view. The popup window is opened from the 6th view of the main window. On pressing a button in the popup view, it should show the first view in the main window and all the views should be refreshed (same as when the refresh button is pressed).

Hi Sravanthi,
Within Web Dynpro navigation from the popup window to the main window is not possible.
So you have to trigger the navigation in the main window. I would suggest to have an outboundplug at the main window and call a method in the window controller, which fires this plug. This should navigate to the first view.
Whether the views are displayed in an initial state depends on the lifetime property of the views. If you change them to "when visible", the views will be displayed initially.
Please note that the main window will not be refreshed as long as the popup window is visible.

I have a requirement to prepare a workbook with 5 views of the same query.
I am looking for an effective method to have all 5 views refreshed when the user open the workbook. Is this possible? Is this possible to execute the refresh without the user intervention (ie passing the username, password and server to the workbook and have it refreshed automatically).

Smart View Refresh All and Hidden Tabs

When one of my users does a Refresh All in Excel all of his hidden tabs become unhidden. Is there a setting in Smart View that can stop this from happening?

If this is the case I would say we have a bug. Can you log an SR with all the details and steps to reproduce.

Not opening all my previously opened windows, many are blank!

Why does Safari randomly choose not to open all my previously open windows? Sometimes up to half the tabs/windows show up BLANK.
Often, I'll see the headings written in the tabs in the toolbars, but when I go to them, they are blank, and I must re-enter the page name manually, do a search, then load the correct one. Other times it will just be blank (usually when it's a single window, since the page name is not in the tab toolbar. WHY is it doing this?
Will clearing past history remove the ability to open a window that is open when I close Safari?

Context = this problem has nothing to do with images. The blank pages contain no content at all, no source code. There is simply nothing to reload.
They have headers only, which safari seems to remember separately as tab info. The rest is gone.
I've deleted caches through prefs and developers tools. All the other tabs refresh. The "random", ones stripped of their URLs, do not.
So what is causing this? Is there a pattern? Why are only certain pages effected (some identical to the healthy tab next to it)? Are they cloned tabs? Is it plug-in related? Google searches? Old searches? Why are they flushed from recent history? Does it relate to icloud synching errors? Is the content actually lost during "sleep" mode or application launch?
Has anyone really posted a fix for this?

Saxman, do you keep multiple pages of multiple tabs open every day? I do. Are some of them reduced in the dock? Are they google search results? New or reloaded every day?
Next time this happens to you, check to see if that blank page is still in your deep history list. (We know that "reload tab" does not work). In the history menu, choose "show top sites". Then click the history button to view all your pages in cover-flow view. Is the url info still there? (You can use the search function here as well).
Do any of the questions I've posted ring a bell?

Refresh All option returns all zeros

Hi,
I am using MS office 2003 and Smart view 9.3.1.4. When I use refresh all options, it rerurns zeros in all sheets.
Has anybody ever faced similar kind of issue? Can you please let me know the possible ressolution?

One possibility is that connection is timing out between server and client. Update the values on on the client machine(test machine) and see whether this resolves the scenario:

If the two MVs have to be consistent with each other as of a specific time, put them into a Refresh Group and refresh them with DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH
If an MV is dependent on another, use DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH_DEPENDENT

When I remove this view from the group, I am able to refresh it successfully.
I destroyed the group, recreated and added all the views and tried. But no luck.
Can some one suggest what could be the problem?

Hi,
You didn't leave a version (Again), so I can only guess.
You may be suffering from
Bug 10096159 ORA-12048 error message raised by DBMS_REFRESH.REFRESH is not corrrect
Meaning it could be a different MV that fails to refresh.

I am creating view link between two views using wizard, but when I reach view link sql window it is blank and non editable. any ideas on this?

Hitesh,
This a very generic case and happens when the source VO join attribute and destination VO join attribute are not of same type, i.e. data type and data length. Make sure that is happening in your case, this will solve your problem.

My Biggest Complaint is the Combined Viewer and Events Window

I, like most editors, work on two monitors. Personally with FCP 7 I keep my Bins and my Favorite Effects on my second monitor and have my viewer and my Canvas and timeline in the main window.
Now if I want to make my Events (formerly Bin) usable I would put them on the second monitor, but then the Viewer and where I have to scrub is moved to the second display, and that is really inconvenient as compared to have the Viewer and Canvas window next to each other on the same screen. Why would I want to scroll on a second display and watch so far away.
This drives me crazy!

MLOGS not purge after a fast refresh (Materialized view) ...

Hi,
I have a database on my own site (Quebec) that has 36 materialized views refresh by a master table site that is physically at Montreal. The MVIEWs are refreshed every day of the week (monday to friday) at 7h00 until 19h00. We use the "fast refresh" technic to refresh the materialized views.
Last weekend, I transfered this database on a new server. So, I created a new SID (I rename the old SID "ORCL" by "ATQP") and I created this instance with a DB_BLOCK_SIZE of 16k rather than 8k. It's the only difference between the two instances (the old one and the new one). I also created the owner schema "ATQP" and I made an Export on the old server followed by an Import of the schema that owned the Materialized views (not a Full import) on the new server. The export was made many hours (saturday morning) after the last refresh of the week (friday, at 19h00) on the old server.
After the successul import on my new server, I'm looking for the information about the creation of the MVIEW. Everything seems OK. I can see that the last refresh date indicated "2008-02-22 19:00" (date / time of the last refresh of the week). I made a quick test on a small MVIEW (a fast refresh) and it worked, no error.
Yesterday morning, the DBA of the master table site mentionned us that the DELETE on the MLOGS didn't work on the master site. The refresh was made successfully but the MLOGS continue to grow up, again and again ... On my database, I'm looking in the SYS.SNAP$ table and I saw that the SNAPTIME date is '1950-01-01 12:00' rather than '2008-02-25 19:00'. In the SYS.SNAP_REFTIME, the SNAPTIME is OK but the LOADERTIME column contains the same strange date '1950-01-01 12:00'.
I made a quick check on my old server and the SYS.SNAP$ table is empty !!! I think it's normal because the last refresh on this node was made last friday night and I made the transfert last saturday (I shutdown the old database after).
I know how to solve the problem, by recreate the MVIEW, but it causes a big problem for us. We are in PRODUCTION and we don't want to refresh many millions of records. I think it will take a couple of days to refresh all the materialized views of my schema. And it doesn't sound good by the master table site management team ...
The master table site "rush" us to solve the problem before the weekend. They don't want that we overcharge the network link between them and us by refreshing those MVIEWS.
So, is it possible to make something simple to resynchronized the SNAPTIME date without refreshing completely all the materialized views ?
If the master site table recreate the MLOG (purge manually), is it possible that it will solve our problem ?
Is it also possible to recreate the MVIEW without refreshing the data (specify to Oracle to recreate the MVIEW but indicate that the table associated already exist) ?
All of my materialized view are up to date concerning the data. I don't want to refresh all of it.

The DBA of the master table site sent me a email about the fact he unregistered the MVIEW. He told me that the script for the unregistered worked well. He tried to purge the MLOG and he got the error ORA-23424 but I think it's normal (It's what you said yesterday about the fact that the UNREGISTER command also purge the MLOGS).
So, it seems that the MLOGS are still not purged (that's what the DBA of the master table site said). I ran the following query:
