Weather to Upgrade Iphone 5 with ios 6.1.4 to ios 7 ?

Hi,
I am an Iphone 5 user in India and having the ios 6.1.4.
Can i update to ios 7. I have been seeing on the net some mixed reactions and some problems faced .
Should I update now or wait for some more time and allow the ios 7 to stabalise for Iphone 5 running on ios 6.1.4?.

The choice is completely yours. Different folks will have very different opinions.
My personal opinion is that when Apple releases a software update of any kind, I immediately perform the update.
Updates tend to fix issues and/or offer improvements. Occasionally they introduce new problems, but because of the type of company Apple is, those occur less frequently than from other vendors, in my opinion.

The first and second generation iPod Touch cannot be upgraded to iOS 5 because of their older hardware.

1. connect ur phone to ur mac/pc
2. open itunes ( make sure u have version 10.5 )
3. if it doesnt automatically ask u to update ur phone . click on summary and then click update
4. ensure that u backup ur data before updating.
5. click on download and install.
6. wait for a while and enjoy iOS5

Unless this is a new iPhone 5 I believe the older ones will work with iOS6 and iTunes 10.6.3. If it won't, you will need to upgrade operating system version.

I agree- I apologize if I sounded skeptical and attacking. In no way did I mean it to sound that way.
I completely agree on the software-hardware combo issue- this is why apple killed off 1G and 2G devices- because newer software revisions would never ever run well if at all on such ancient devices. can you imagine running iOS 6 on an iPhone/iPod touch 1G? That would be terrible. Let alone iOS 3 runs terrible on them and now are generally rendered useless due to newer App Store requirements (most require 4.3+ now to allow apple to kill off the older devices). forcing newer software on older hardware (apple, dell, HP,... Anything electronic this definitely applies to) will almost always yield less-than-par results. The other part is apple forcing you to upgrade by means of intentially making things obsolete. all companies do that.
All of this factual info aside, the issue at hand with the 5 is not a software-hardware combo problem- those are most widely seen with the major revisions. then again, this isn't the first time apple has gotten caught up in battery drain snafus (even iOS 5 was plagued with this as well- and now there are some people desperate to roll back but can't). it basically waters it down to the point where keeping the stock software will always yield the best results even though newer versions provide better features- it all depends on whether or not the person deems the added features are worth a performance hit.
PS. I'm still at 100%- and I've been using it periodically throughout the day. your combo worked for you, but didn't for me. And may or may not work for others- As the tech world would say, mileage may vary.

Since upgrading Iphone to iOS 5.1.1 it does not automatically divert to my wi-fi internet when wifi is available in my home. It has been draining my mobile data I now have very high bills from my mobile carrier for high data usage. I can only manually change settings in the Network and turn cellular data on and off everytime I get home and leave the home. This is very frustrating as it wasn't a problem until the upgrade. I have spoken to a few people that this has happened to. Has anyone found this problem and does anyone have other solutions?

IPhone 4S no longer integrates through USB with my 2008 Cadi CTS after iOS 7

Before my installation of iOS7, my iPhone 4S with iOS6 connected perfectly to my 2008 Cadillac CTS. After the "upgrade", now my car cannot recognize my USB device (my phone) and I can't play my music, Pandora, etc., not to mention I can't even use my steering wheel controls for my ipod. So, what am I do do in order to get this functionality back? How can this be fixed?

Just upgraded iPhone 4 from 4.2 ios to 6.1.3 ios now can't connect to internet

I just updated my friend's iPhone 4 from 4.2 ios to 6.1.3 ios -- she had not updated it since she purchased it. The uploads installed fine but now she can't access safari/internet and can't send pictures via text message. She is strictly 3g with no wireless access at her home. Could this be caused by the software upgrade? If not, how/where do I start looking for the problem.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If your friend if having trouble connecting to her cellular network, the steps below might help:
iPhone: Troubleshooting a cellular data connection
Resolution
Follow the instructions below for assistance with troubleshooting cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, please test to see if the issue is resolved.
Toggle cellular data off and then on again on the iPhone: Tap Settings > General > Cellular.
Restart your iPhone.
Check for a carrier settings update.
Update your iPhone.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to reaquire the network.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrier to report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Restore the iPhone as new.
Contact your carrier to verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
