Web App table rendering

I'm wanting to use a jQuery script to sort the table cells on the List view of a web app I'm building. Something like this one I think. http://tablesorter.com/docs/. Does anyone know a work around that prevents an entire table being rendered when a list of web app items is displayed?
I currently have the list to display:
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="8">
    <tbody>
        <tr>
            <td style="width: 200px;"><strong>Species:</strong> {tag_fish species}</td>
            <td style="width: 200px;"><strong>Where:</strong> {tag_water body}</td>
            <td style="width: 200px;"><strong>Angler:</strong> {tag_name}</td>
            <td style="width: 200px;"><strong>Weight:</strong> {tag_pounds} Lbs, {tag_ounces} Oz's</td>
            <td style="width: 100px;"><strong>Year:</strong> {tag_year of catch}</td>
            <td style="width: 100px;"><strong>Method:</strong> {tag_method of capture}</td>
        </tr>
    </tbody>
</table>
I was thinking if I can get it to render out something like this:
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="8">
    <tbody>
{web app detail}
    </tbody>
</table>
While using something like this for the List layout in the web app:
        <tr>
            <td style="width: 200px;"><strong>Species:</strong> {tag_fish species}</td>
            <td style="width: 200px;"><strong>Where:</strong> {tag_water body}</td>
            <td style="width: 200px;"><strong>Angler:</strong> {tag_name}</td>
            <td style="width: 200px;"><strong>Weight:</strong> {tag_pounds} Lbs, {tag_ounces} Oz's</td>
            <td style="width: 100px;"><strong>Year:</strong> {tag_year of catch}</td>
            <td style="width: 100px;"><strong>Method:</strong> {tag_method of capture}</td>
        </tr>
I tried this but the WYSIWYG editor strips the <tr> and <td> structure out when I hit save.
Any help would be apprected!

Hi Scott,
You can do that through Dreamweaver or FTP. The online editor/browser will try to correct the incomplete table ending in disaster.

  • Web App List rendering in a table

    I have three webapps listing on this site: http://browncommunicationsgroup.businesscatalyst.com/. The top slider, The area under "The Work" and in a modal window that opens when  the view opprtunities link is clicked. The web app list in the "The Work" is rendering out in a table but the other two aren't. I'm not sure why. Does anyone know of a setting oe what I can do to get rid of these tables?

    Hi Scott,
    Liam is absolutely right, if you define any number for 'items per row' in the module_webapps tag BC renders the webapp list as a table. Once the number is removed BC will render whatever you have setup in your webapp list template. Hopefully this will be updated in the BC documentation soon as it is not clear that tables are used here by default.
    Had a look at the demo site link, love the design.
    Cheers

  • Flex 4.5/FP10.2 web app: Font rendering problem

    Heya,
    Upped a web app from Flex 4.0/4.1 to Flex 4.5 & fonts started to render really badly (blurry & 'stronger').
    They are embedded as CFF, no errors or warnings gives. Also upgraded to Flash Player 10.2, which apparently has 'enhanched' font rendering.
    Haven't set applicationDPI on the s:Application tag, so DPI management should be disabled according to the docs.
    (See http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/mobileapps/WS19f279b149e7481c682e5a9412cf5976c17-8000.htm l)
    It's straight up @font-face embeds in a CSS file, nothing odd or wrong there.
    Is the case that this is how it's supposed to look now? In that case, how do I revert back to sane rendering?
    Do I need to configure 4.5 somehow to get it to do fonts right?

    Also tested Franklin Gothic, same deal. Tested on Mac (10.2) & PC (10.2 & 10.3). Flex 4.5 for both platforms.
    fonts.css:
    @font-face
    src: url("fonts/arial.ttf");
    font-family: Arial;
    font-weight: normal;
    embedAsCFF: true;
    FontTest.mxml:

  • MS Access Web App: corrupted table, cannot open in Access anymore

    **tldr: How can I delete a corrupted table that prevents me from opening my Web App in Access?**
    I used the Access desktop client to create a new table with approx 20 lookup fields. When I tried saving the table, I received an error message about too many indices. So I set the index option to "no" for all the lookup fields and tried to close
    the "edit table view". However, I was not able to close the edit table view anymore. After trying for a while, I used the task manager to terminate Access.
    Now, when I try to open my app in Access by clicking the "customize in Access" button on the web, I receive several error messages:
     1. Operation failed: the table xxx contains too many indices. Delete some indices and try again. (this error message appears about 5 times)
     2. Microsoft Access can not create the table
     3. A problem occurred when trying to access a property or method of the OLE object.
    Next, I'm at the Access start screen. My application does not open.
    So, is there any other way I can delete the corrupted table without opening it through the Access client? Maybe directly accessing the SQL server? The database is configured to allow read/write connections, becasue I connected to the tables from an Access Desktop
    Database, but I'm not sure if I can delete a table or fields that way. Any help is greatly appreciated!
    [I translated the error messages from German, so they might be slightly different in the English version]

    Not sure, but you may have to many indexes created, see below article:
    Indexes on a Table
    Hope its not corrupted though. If so, I hope you have a backup in place.

    Hi charlesmoizeau, why do you want to install Firefox 18? To be compatible with a particular website or add-on? There might be a better workaround, but without the details, it's hard to say.
    See this help article: [[Install an older version of Firefox]]. And be aware that Mozilla discloses [https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html security flaws] after each new release.

  • How do I use the alternate list template when rendering web app items to a page?

    I need to have the ability to use the main list template on particular pages, but then use different markup for other pages - is there a way that I can specify the alternate list template within the module tag?

    Hi Matt, You should read about web apps here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/business-catalyst/partner/web-apps-module-create-cu stom.html
    And module reference here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/kb/modules-quick-reference.html
    If you insert through the admin and click customise you will see the option to use listbackup. You will also see that layout availible via FTP and in the admin or DW.
    Here you can see where in the module paramaters the option to choose listbackup occurs:

  • Unable to run Web App for the 2nd Time

    Hi,
    I am using Weblogic 8.1 sp5 as my deploying platform. Using the official tutorials, I am able to export my JSC2 web app into a WAR file that is deployable on my Weblogic server.
    Upon running the application, it works perfectly. However, upon closing my browser and then restarting the browser, running the web app again yields exceptions, please refer to the bottom.
    What am I doing wrong? I am suspecting the web-app wasn't detroyed properly when another instances of it is started...
    Please advise.

  • Web app security not working

    Hi,
    I am using WebLogic 8.1 platform. I am trying to create a very basic secure web
    app.
    I created an App and created a web project. In it, I deleted the controller, etc
    and just have index. jsp. All the index.jsp does is: <%= request.getRemoteUser()
    %>
    In web.xml I have
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>Success</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
    <http-method>GET</http-method>
    <http-method>POST</http-method>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>*</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    <login-config>
    <auth-method>BASIC</auth-method>
    <realm-name>default</realm-name>
    </login-config>
    <security-role>
    <role-name>*</role-name>
    </security-role>
    In weblogic.xml I have
    <security-role-assignment>
    <role-name>dealers</role-name>
    <principal-name>dealer1</principal-name>
    </security-role-assignment>
    When I run the app, it just renders the JSP and does not challenge me to login.
    Can you please help what is that I am doing wrong here?
    Thanks,
    John

  • How can I use more than one Data Provider in my web Apps

    I am trying to use two different data provider in my web apps to run two different queries from the same table ,the data provider A is working correctly but when I attempt to run data provider B ,It display an error page ,here is the error message : Exception Details :javax.servlet.ServletEx ception
    java.lang.RuntimeException: java.sql.SQLException : Cannot connect .Both dataSourceName and url properties are null.

    Hi,
    You can use more than one data provider in your application. However if you have defined a dataprovider for a particular table already, and wish to bind a component, select the component and use its context menu to Bind to Data...

  • Can't Edit Data in Access 2013 Web App

    I have an Office 365 P1 account that I have been using to create apps in Access 2010. I tried Access 2013. But when I launch an app, it loads in my Office 365, but editing data is not enabled (the Add and Edit buttons are displayed, but not enabled).
    I have tried creating a new custom web app with one simple table and a view, as well as creating one using a Microsoft pre-built template, and simply creating the app and launching it. In both cases, the app displays, but I cannot add or edit data.
    Is there something with my Office 365 account that is limiting my ability to work with Access 2013 web apps?
    Thank you!

    Hi KrisMarshall7,
    In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
    What the file format is your Access 2007 file? MDB or ACCDB?
    Where do you want to add the columns? Table, form or query?
    As far as I know,
    the limitation of columns in a table is 250. Thus, I suppose that the database had some hidden columns. Please try to check it. Steps:
    Right-click any field title, then select Unhide Fields. A dialog box will appear. Click the check boxes of any fields you would like to be visible again, then click Close.
    Hope it's helpful.

  • Unable to create web app with PowerShell - An update conflict has occurred

    I am trying to create a new Web Application using PowerShell. I need to use PowerShell because I need to create the Web App using classic authentication and not Claims authentication. the first time I created the Web App, everything went great. Ever since
    the first time, I get an error and the web app creation does not complete. Just as an FYI, I can create a new Web App using Central Admin, but that creates it with Claims authentication which I cannot use.
    Here is my PowerShell script
    New-SPWebApplication -Name "SharePoint2013 (82)" -ApplicationPool "SharePoint2013-82" -AuthenticationMethod "NTLM" -ApplicationPoolAccount (Get-SPManagedAccount "GLOBAL\SP_AppPool") -Port 82 -URL "http://sharepoint2013"
    Here is the error I get in PowerShell
    New-SPWebApplication : An update conflict has occurred, and you must re-try this action. The object SPWebApplication
    Name=SharePoint2013 (82) was updated by DOMAIN\SP_Administrator, in the powershell (13020) process, on machine SPWEB01.

    I also get  this error from the trace
    Unknown SQL Exception 547 occurred. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.
    The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_Dependencies1_Objects". The conflict occurred in database "SP_Config", table "dbo.Dependencies", column 'ObjectId'.
    The statement has been terminated.
    I have tried to resolve the issue by performing the following:
    Delete the partially created web app using Central Admin or PowerShell
    Clear the file system cache on all servers in the farm (Stopping wss timer job, Saving Copy of the
    cache.ini file from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\application data\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config folder. Clearing all the .xml files from the location except cache.ini but Edit the cache.ini to have value 1. Starting the timer job)
    Use Products Configuration Wizard (no detach, just 'upgrade') - People have said to select the option to disconnect the server from server farm and revert back again at next step (so you actually do not disconnect), but there is no next step that I have
    encountered. You select 'disconnect', hit next, and the server disconnects.
    Restart all the servers in the farm
    Run the PowerShell script again...still get the same error
    I have tried it on multiple servers in the farm too.

    If it doesn’t work, sometimes the issue might be caused by long time keep powershell opening and generating some cache files. So please try re-opening the powershell and test the issue again.

  • Is it even possible to dynamically apply view criteria in an ADF Web App?

    This is one of those situations where something that should take an hour ends up taking days.
    * I have a view.
    * The view has Bind Variables associated with it.
    * The view has View Criteria associated with it.
    * Each of the View Criteria use different Bind Variables.
    * I have a search criteria input page that receives from the user what will ultimately be used to set the bind variables.
    * I have a search results page that uses the view to display a table.
    * I have the code that dynamically sets view criteria and parameters. It is based on the following:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/b31974/bcadvvo.htm#BCGFHAGA
    * This code works great, until the iterator associated with the table binding to the view is initialized. At that time, the view is reset to its defaults, and all of my code's doings are discarded. How do I know this? Because I have gone so far as to run my code that sets view criteria and binding variables dynamically in a phase event handler for the search results page in the render response phase. There is no other point at which to dynamically modify the view.
    This is turning into a situation where it seems I will need 5 different views and 5 different pages in order to show a single set of query results. I cannot get dynamically applied view criteria to work in an ADF web app. Has anyone else done it? Can anyone relate to this? Are there any other suggestions before I conclude that it's not possible for this framework to handle this simple scenario?
    Thanks

    There must be a setting or something that I am still missing here. If I write code just like this and make sure it is executed, I still only see the results of my view executed without the view criteria applied using the default bind variable values that I supplied in the view object.
    It's like the fact that I set the bind variables, the view criteria, and executed the view query programmatically is lost on the iterator -- it's like it never happened. What setting is used to ensure that the iterator uses the outcome of what I executed programmatically? There has to be a critical set or setting that I am missing.
    Here is the iterator and search region definitions defined in the page def "executables" section:
      <executables>
         <iterator Binds="CustomSearchView1" RangeSize="25"
                  DataControl="AppModuleDataControl"
                  id="CustomSearchView1Iterator"/>
        <searchRegion Binds="CustomSearchView1Iterator"
                      Customizer="oracle.jbo.uicli.binding.JUSearchBindingCustomizer"
                      id="CustomSearchView1Query"/>
        </executables>Here's the "tree" binding in the page def file:
      <bindings>
       <tree IterBinding="CustomSearchView1Iterator" id="CustomSearchView1">
          <nodeDefinition DefName="Model.CustomSearchView" Name="CustomSearchView10">
            <AttrNames>
              <Item Value="CustomId"/>
              <Item Value="CustomProjectNumber"/>
              <Item Value="CustomName"/>
              <Item Value="CustomStatus"/>
              <Item Value="CustomStatusDate"/>
            </AttrNames>
          </nodeDefinition>
        </tree>
      </bindings>In an effort to take page flow out of this mess, I had modified this to include the search criteria and search results on a single page. So, I now have a "Search" button. When the "Search" button is clicked, the action method does the following:
        public String searchActionListener ()
              // Get search criteria from select one choice and text input controls.
              AppModule appModule =
                    ( AppModule ) Configuration.createRootApplicationModule (
                        "Model.AppModule",
                        "AppModuleLocal");
              appModule.customSearch( searchCriteria1,
                                                   searchCriteria2,
                                                   searchCriteria3 );
        }In my application module this translates to:
        public void customNoticeSearch ( String searchCriteria1, String searchCriteria2, String searchCriteria3)
           CustomSearchViewImpl searchViewImp =
               ( CustomSearchViewImpl ) this.getCustomSearchView1 ();
           searchViewImp.customExecuteQuery ( searchCriteria1, searchCriteria2, searchCriteria3);
        }Finally, in my custom view object implementation code:
        public void customExecuteQuery ( String searchCriteria1, String searchCriteria2, String searchCriteria3 )
            // Set-up the parameters that are part of the core query.
            this.setp_searchCriteria1( searchCriteria1);
            this.setp_searchCriteria2( searchCriteria2);
            if ( searchCriteria3 != null )
                ViewCriteriaManager vcm = this.getViewCriteriaManager();
                ViewCriteria vc = vcm.getViewCriteria ( "WithLastCriteria" );
                this.setp_searchCriteria3( new Number ( searchCriteria3 ) );
                this.applyViewCriteria( vc );
            System.out.println ("This is fun.");
            this.executeQuery();
        }This code executes, but the results table is empty, and I know that there are results, because I can execute use execute with params to execute the base query and get the correct results back.
    Thanks for taking a look at this.

  • Office Web Apps Server June 2013 Cumulative Update Excel Freeze Pane and Hide/Un-hide Feature Missing

    Hi,
    I have recently updated the Office Web Apps Server to the June 2013 Cumulative Update (KB2817350) which was published with the new features that allow rendering of freeze pane, hide/un-hide the excel worksheet and row/columns, Header
    Row Snapping, Sorting, Data Validation and Autocomplete. i have followed the TechNet article (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj966220.aspx)
    to update the office web apps server. Current setup is a SharePoint 2013, SQL 2012 and Office Web Apps server. All server are installed on Windows server 2012.

    Hi,
    Sorry to inform you that these new features are specific to cloud Excel Web App in both SkyDrive and Office365. There is no update available for on-premise Excel Web Apps installed locally
    yet. Thank you for your understanding.

  • How do I show/refresh data from an Access Web App in an Excel spreadsheet saved in a Document Library on Sharepoint 2013 online

    I have an Access 2013 Web App in my Sharepoint 2013 online website. It contains a query to report on its data (several, actually, but let's keep it simple). I want to connect an Excel spreadsheet to the query, visualise the data in pivot tables/graphs/whatever,
    save the spreadsheet in a Document Library, and let other team site Sharepoint users open the spreadsheet (preferably in Excel online, but with Excel client if it has to be) and see/copy the data, refreshed with the latest information from the Access Web App.
    Simple, surely!
    The way I'm doing it at the moment is to create an ODC file to connect to the cloud-based Access 2013 database, save that ODC in a Data Connection Library in the SP site, and use the saved ODC file as data source in the Excel spreadsheet. This works and
    successfully keeps everything 'in the cloud' but I can't get it to refresh in Excel Online, and if I open the spreadsheet in Excel Client I have to enter the database password every time to refresh it. I don't really want to issue this password to everyone
    who might want to view the data. There must be a better way than this ODC method, I suspect.
    Googlings on this have led down various blind alleys - Excel Services, PowerPivots, Web Parts - but I'm stuck on which to follow through. Please, someone, point me to an article/book/website that explains how to do this step-by-step in simple language..
    thanks
    Jonathan

    I don't see any quick way of achieving it - at least there's no such functionality exists in SharePoint. All you can do, develop an event receiver that will update the fields in the list item once the excel file is added/updated. You can use OpenXml API
    to manipulate the excel file.
