Web Center Management Packs Activation

We are licenced the the following enterprise manager management packs: SOA Management pack enterprise edition, Webcenter management pack and Weblogic server management pack enterprise edition.
I would like to activate Webcenter Management Pack and Weblogic Server Management Packs. To do that i have "agreed" to  Oracle Fusion Middleware Management Packs from the Enterprise Manage Console. I have also deployed Agents using the Enterprise Manager Push methods i.e Add Targets Manually from the Enterprise Manager Console.

Problem
From the enterprise manager console, i am not able to see the weblogic servers, web center domains, imaging, capture etc of the target/monitored hosts. i.e agent is not able to discovery the installed web center  on the target servers.
What else should i enable or install?
Thanks

First, can you see the agent and host in EM?  If not, then you'll need to follow these steps:
emctl secure agent
emctl start agent
emctl config agent addinternaltargets
emctl config agent listtargets
The host and agent must be "green" in EM to discover targets.   The last command listtargets will show you what the agent has "auto-discovered".  Not all targets can be auto-discovered.
Did you check the Auto Discovery Results to see if the targets are waiting for promotion?  If they're not there, then you might have to "manually" discover them.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e24473/discovery.htm#CBAEGHBH
For each target type, there could be additional pieces that you need to look for when discovering, for example for
SOA - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/install.121/e24215/disc_mon_soa.htm#GSSOA9921

  • Unable to download Management Packs

    Hello,
I am having trouble downloading Management Packs on a newly deployed all-in-one SCOM server.
Currently I am trying to download the recent version of the Windows Server Operating System Library (6.0.7061.0) but the download is simply failing with "Download failed":
    http://i.imgur.com/fdG9HCH.png
The Server can access the internet just fine, there is no proxy etc. in between the connection. Browsing the Management pack online catalog also works fine.
There are no errors in the eventlog.
From tracing I found out that the wizard tries to download from the URL http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/7/b/f7b960c9-7392-4c5a-bab4-efbb8a66ec2a/BaseOSBlueGA/Microsoft.Windows.Server.Library.mp
This is also the URL I found in several blogs to download the most recent version of the MP. I've tried to download this file from several sites but its always failing or throwing an 404.
Is this really a general failure on Microsoft's/Akamai's side?

    Hi,

  • Management Pack for Server 2008 OS Monitoring version 6.0.7296 cannot be installed or downloaded from the catalog

In our newly installed Operations Manager I'm trying to install the MP's for monitoring Windows Server 2008 OS through the catalog option. Every attempt (including downloading it through the OpsMgr console) fails with the following error:
Windows Server 2008 Operating System (Monitoring) did not pass the security verification.
The management pack cannot be downloaded and the temporary file has been deleted.
Could not load management pack [ID=Microsoft.Windows.Server.2008.Monitoring, Keytoken=31bf3856ad364e35, Version=6.0.7296].
This includes the required packs: "Windows Server Operating System Library v6.0.7296" and "Windows Server 2008 Operating System (Discovery) v6.0.7296".
The only option I found was downloading it directly from the website http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=9296 but I'm a bit anxious if it can't be downloaded from the catalog. Is this pack revoked? Or could there be something wrong
in our environment that prevents us from downloading it from the catalog?

I have the exact same issue - and when I select to download from the catalog, I get an error that the security certificate cannot be verified. I checked it, and it is valid till 2016, so I selected continue and then it works normally. however I do get the
    same list of errors.
The normal "manual" download is available, and if it was pulled by MS, they would block the download button there too ?
I downloaded the MP manually and installed it without any issues. same for the sharepoint 2010 MP 14.0.7135.5000 mp. installing via the catalog failed while the manual download was available and works OK.
(and the weird thing is - I downloaded / installed a few other updates via the catalog fine....)

  • Operations Manager 2012 Management Pack Catalog Web Service - Missing Management Packs

I am using SCOM 2012 R2 with UR5 and I see things like Exchange 2013 and Lync 2013 in the catalog when doing an MP import, but some other items like: SQL Server 2012/2014 and SharePoint 2013 are missing. I can download them from the MS download site,
but is this catalog web service being maintained?

Hi Darren, I know what you mean. It would be nice to be able to pull the latest management packs as well as management packs available from the download site from the catalog via the Operations Console, however, the packs in the catalog are not comprehensive.
I highly recommend the SCOM management pack wiki which is kept up to date by the community. I use this myself :) An added benefit to using this wiki over the catalog is that this links to the download page for the management pack of interest from where you
can obtain the management pack and its documentation which often contains useful detail on what the management pack entails. The wiki link is below:

  • UCS Management Pack for System Center 2012 OpsMgr add monitor wizard error

We're successfully using the 2.6.0.179 version of the UCS Management Pack for System Center 2012 Operations Manager in our 2012 SP1 OpsMgr environment; however, in the new 2012 R2 OpsMgr environment we've stood-up and in which we installed the 2.6.2.0 version of the UCS MP, we're getting an error when trying to run the Add Monitoring Wizard under the Management Pack Templates node of the Authoring pane. We get the same error from the 2.6.1.0 version of the UCS MP as well. The text of the error is as follows:
"The page [Cisco.UCS.MP.UI.Proxy.Template.Page.ProxyDetailsPage] in the assembly [Cisco.UCS.MP.UI.Culture="",PublicKeyToken="6c96076cdf2c87a",Version="2.6.0.0"] could not be loaded. Please make sure that the account you are running under has sufficient privileges to load the given assembly, or the management pack that defines this page is installed or the assembly containing the page is in the path of the executible or that the page derives from known Operations Manager page type."
I'm an admin user in OpsMgr, so this should not be a user privilege issue, and that leaves the MP itself. The fact that a 2.6.0.0 version is mentioned makes me wonder if the base version of the MP must be installed before the 2.6.2 version. I'd test this, but we no longer have that version, and its no longer available for download from Cisco that I can see.
Has any dealt with this issue successfully, or have any insight into the problem?

Solved...the requirement is that you must do the MP configuration from the SCOM console on the SCOM Management Server where you installed the Cisco UCS MP; you can't do it from a SCOM console on a remote computer like I was trying to do.

  • Can we bind twitter streaming with web center activity stream.

Our PM suggests us to use Web center activity stream to store the twitter status based on our twitter search filter . To achieve that, it seems that we need to include the activity taskflow ( or data control) in our application and binding the taskflow with our twitter streaming. Is there any approach to achieve that? where can I find more details about using/extending activity stream.

  • Again - Active Directory Management Pack - AD MP - SCOM 2012R2 - AD 2012R2 - Action / RunAs Account permissions

    Hi,
after reading many Posts and Blogs i came to the conclusion that it is still unclear to me what is needed to Monitor Active Directory successfully and what is the securest way configuring the RunAs or Action Account. I hope the experts here can make a clear
Statement to answer the question for all time ;-)
    1. Action Account:
Here is described what permissions and rights are needed to use a low-privileged account:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212808.aspx
Now you might say: that was asked and answered so many times..you are right, but the answer was from run as "local System" to "you Need local admin". So also the AD MP documentation still says you Need a local Admin account.
here are other references which says you Need local admin rights:
    http://micloud.azurewebsites.net//2014/02/26/scom-agent-grayed-out-when-trying-to-monitor-domain-controllers/
    Even Kevin Holman says here
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/2a0e5a2b-a3d9-42d4-8474-9f690007caa0/opsmgrlatency-cn-gets-auto-created-in-domain-not-configuration:
"Basically - if your domain controllers are running as local system default agent action account, in most cases you will not need to ever set up any replication monitoring run-as accounts.... as local system on a DC has all the rights necessary.
    (in most cases).
"Simple questions: Is this really enought to Monitor every aspect of an ActiveDirectory Domain and Domain Controller using a low privilege account the the permissions in the article? Or is using local System better? Is there a difference when
using SCOM2012R2 with the new Agent? Most documentation referes to SCOM2007(except the replication Monitoring where it is clear that other permissions are needed:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/jimmyharper/archive/2009/05/20/configuring-or-disabling-replication-monitoring-in-the-active-directory-management-pack.aspx )

The MP guide is not really clear about it. The only thing they are clear about is whenever you want to use client monitoring. In those situations low privileged will not work.
For each of the client-side monitoring scripts to run successfully, the
Action Account must be a member of the Administrators group on both the computer
on which the client management pack is running and the domain controller that is being monitored. The
Action Account must also be a member of the
Operations Manager Administrators group, which is configured through the Operations console in so that all the scripts that are configured on the Root Management Server can run properly
Both a local system and domain admin are a risk. If someone loads a malicious management pack that makes changes to the AD services you are screwed. The local system has unrestricted access to local resources including domain services.
The only reason I don't want a domain admin account in SCOM is that you have an additional layer where the password potentially could be retrieved. That's not the case with a local system account. But the risks are the same.
    See: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms677973%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
But this not an answer to your question. :-)

  • Import System Center Monitoring Pack for System Center 2012 - Service Manager into SCOM 2007 R2

I would like to know if there is SCSM 2012 SP1 MP available for SCOM 2007 R2 ?
I downloaded the "System Center Monitoring Pack for System Center 2012 - Service Manager" MP from
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29980 and then import into SCOM 2007 R2, however, I found that there are some MP dependencies issue.
For example, the "Microsoft System Center Service Manager Library" MP requires "Microsoft SystemCenter Library" and "System.Health.Library" MPs of version 7.0.8427.0. Howerver, the "Microsoft SystemCenter Library"
and "System.Health.Library" MP in SCOM 2007 R2 is of version 6.1.7221.0

  • Management pack version difference in System Center - Operations Manager 2012 R2 - Help us.

    Hi,
I have SC Operation manager 2012 r2 in my environment. It has managed with multiple management servers.
I have import some unsealed MPs through Ops SDK code and by manually using Operation manager console.
Here with i tried to install higher version of MPs and upgrade its version from 1.1.0.0 to 6.0.0.0.
    case 1:
After successful installation of some MPs and check Operation manager console, it showing newly upgraded version(6.0.0.0).
Then i have import that MP and checked its version inside it showing 1.1.0.0(older version).
Here the imported MP has 1.1.0.0 version and console showing its version as 6.0.0.0.
Why it showing different versions in imported MP(inside xml)  and Operations manager console view?
    case 2:
    After that i tried to import other MPs using console. But it showing below error;
    Verification failed with 1 errors:
    Error 1:
Found error in 2|Monitoring.ActiveDirectory_server|6.0.0.0|Monitoring.ActiveDirectory_server|| with message:
Could not load management pack [ID=Monitoring.Base, KeyToken=9e875220a3987e0b, Version=6.0.0.0]. The management pack was not found in the store.
: Version mismatch. The management pack ([Monitoring.Base, 9e875220a3987e0b, 1.1.0.0]) requested from the database was version 6.0.0.0 but the actual version available is 1.1.0.0.
Its happened in  multiple management servers scenario. So Is any possibility to happen because of multiple management servers scenario?. There is no issues in this same MPs while i tried in single management server. These same MPs are imported and working
fine in single management server scenario.
Help me to solve these 2 issues!!
    Thanks,
    satheesh

    1) At first, you should make sure that the imported MP has correct version. I will open the XML of the imported MP and check its current version e.g.
When you open the xml file of imported MP, the version number is shown as
    <Manifest>
        <Identity>
            <ID>Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.Component.Library.Resources</ID>
            <Version>1.0.0.2</Version>
        <Identity>
        <Name>Resources library</Name>
        <References>
            <Reference Alias="System">
            <ID>System.Library</ID>
            <Version>1.0.0.1</Version>
From the above sample, the imported MP version number is 1.0.0.2.
    2) I am using operation console to import the management pack and check the version number in operations console whether it is updated to new version 1.0.0.2
    3) Using operations console to export the MP which has imported in step 1) and open it to check what is the version number of MP. Make sure that the version is 1.0.0.2
    4) If the above procedure provide a prefer match of version number, re-import all problematic MP.
    5) At last, you may use the following SQL to check whether the correct version number of MP is stored in DB successful
select version, friendlyname from managementpackview where friendlyname like 'Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualizatio%'

  • Cisco UCS Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Login Error

I have Cisco UCS 1.4 (3q) and just installed the MP v2.1 for Cisco UCS, however when I click on the "Management Pack Events" alert view in the SCOM console, there are error for event number 19900.  The description of the error is as follows:
    Description:
CISCO UCS R2 MP (https://10.x.x.x/nuova) [CISCO.UCS.R2.Proxy.LoadCache.ProbeAction.vbs] : CISCO UCS Login Error: Authentication failed (Code: 551)
I noticed that it's looking for the /nuova directory, but in order to login to our UCS environment, we usually just go to the IP address - so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it?  I've verified that when going directly to the IP from Internet Explorer I can login using the opsmgr credentials we specifically created for this account.  I've also gone through the process of creating a run-as account on the SCOM side and associated it with the correct profiles.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Troubleshooting has found out its user error, wrong password configured.

  • Citrix NetScaler Management Pack Account

    Hello,
I read the documentation and noticed this:
The Citrix NetScaler Management Pack requires log on credentials of the NetScaler systems it is managing to be able to take corrective actions when the virtual servers become unhealthy.
I created the account in SCOM 2007, and associated it with the Profiles Citrix NetScaler PRO Authentication Account.
    1. What are the permissions needed in Active Directory for this account? Domain Users is enough or it needs specific privilege(s)?
    2. What are the permissions needed on the NetScaler Server needed? Local Administrators? Users? In the Application?
