Web Dynpro: several navigation links connect to one outbound plug of a view

Hi,
I have two questions in general Web Dynpro. (I have not found precise answer for the question yet)
1) What should happen in the following case?
We have three views in a component. The outbound plug of the first view is connected to the inbound plug of the second and third view via navigation links. Which view should appear, if i fire the outbound plug of the first view?
Some documentation says, this case is not allowed, some documentation says it is allowed...
2) If the previous case is allowed, what should happen in the following case?
In a child component, a window outbound plug is connected to a view inbound plug. Beside this, I implement an inbound plug of the window, where i fire this outbound plug of the window.
Now, the interface view is embedded into a parent component window. In the parrent component I connect the outbound plug of the interface component to an inbound plug of a parent view (which is also embedded into the window). I also connect an outbound plug of the parent view to the interface view inbound plug.
What will happen if I fire the parent view outbound plug? Will the parent view or child view appear?

Hi Huszar,
I'm a newbie and found your question interesting. So I played a little with this issue and hope I found something to help you.
But  I wonder in why you want to use such a constellation the first place. What is your purpose? For me the idea itself doesn't make much sense... Did you by chance actually think of one of the following purposes:
You want two different action elements (e.g. 2 buttons) to fire different conenctions. Then you should use different outbound plugs. Connect the two buttons and the two links to different methods so that the corrsponding plug and button have the same method.
You want to decide by value or state which view to show. Then you should use two different outbound plugs as well and decide in the button's event handler mehtod which plug to fire , e.g.: if <condition> then <firePlugA> else <firePlugB>.
Generally, if you connect two views in a window via link you must chose a method to use or create a button. If you chose a method (event handler) the effect in the Java file is that the  method (onActionButtonX()) will call the corresponding firePlugOut-method.
Unfortunately in the firePlug-method itself there was no hint about the plug's destination. As I connected the same method for button and two plug targets, Web Dypro for no obvious reason always chose the same target. I did not find a possibility to directly chose the target from one outbound plug, so I guess this information is stored somewhere in the background logic.
Did I get the point or did you think of something completely different? Or maybe you just asked theoretically? In that case I don't seem to get the idea.
Kind regards,
Jana

If you go to the web dynpro console -> monitor -> JCO connection pools you see a table with information.

Can somebody explain what for example the "Size" and "Maximum used" mean in this table?

  • BI Report in Web UI - Cross Navigational Link

    HI Gurus,
I made the neccessary customizing settings in CRMC_UI_NBLINKS to display my BI reports in the CRM Web-UI.
Now I want to use the 'Cross Navigational links for InfoObjects' to be able to navigate from a BI report to a CRM UI component.
I am using a report about activity partners (0BP_ACTIVIT/0BPARTNER).
My settings in CRMC_UI_NBLINKS for this report:
    InfoObject: 0BP_ACTIVIT
    Navigational Link ID: Z_XXX
    Seq.: 1
    Object Type: BP_ACCOUNT
    Object Action: B Display
    Text: BP Link
However in the context menu on the report I do not see any 'BP link'. I tried 3.x and 7.x web templates and 3.x and 7.x queries, no luck.
    What am I missing?

  • Best practice for Web Dynpro for Java to connect to SAP HR

What is best way to connect Web Dynpro for Java application deployed in SAP portal to connect to SAP HR ?
Is it good practice to connect to underlying SAP database ( eg oracle) directly to get the data or is there a better way ?
This below article describes to connect to external DB, however Is there any other way for  SAP HR ?
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/WDJava/WebDynproApplciationwithDatabaseMS+Access

    Hi,
There are 2 supported ways :
First is  to use JCO connections to call abap RFC enabled function modules. (BAPIs for example)
Second is to call SOAP web services (HR enterprise services for example)
You should never access directly database tables...

  • Navigating one OutBound plug to Two Inboung plugs

    Hi Friends,
I developed one application using Radio Buttons. I strucked up at Event Handling. Actually i created one out bound plug and navigated it to two inbound plugs of two diffrent views.
If i click on one radio button it should navigate it to first view orelse if click on second radio button it should to second view.
how can i trigger the particular view based on the radio button i have clicked.
could you people concern this one and give me a bright answer.

If you use single radio buttons (not RadioButtonGroup):
There is an event RadioButton.onSelect which is triggered when a radio button is selected.
    https://media.sdn.sap.com/javadocs/NW04/SPS15/wd/com/sap/tc/webdynpro/clientserver/uielib/standard/api/IWDRadioButton.html
This event has a parameter "key" which contains the key representing the selected radio button.
Assign an action to event "onSelect" and define an action parameter "selectedKey".
Map event parameter "key" to action parameter "selectedKey" e.g. by writing the following code inside wdDoModifyView():
    if (firstTime)
      IWDRadioButton radio = (IWDRadioButton) view.getElement("ID-of-radio-button");
      radio.mappingOfOnSelect().addSourceMapping("key", "selectedKey");
The effect is that at runtime, parameter "selectedKey" will contain the key of the selected radio button. In the action handler method you can now use the "selectedKey" parameter to decide which view should be navigated to.

  • Consume Web Service in Web Dynpro

    Hi Experts,
I´m currently trying to learn web dynpro development.
Scenario: I have one component which embed two views. One view is for enter customer number and in the other view I will see the name of the customer. The name of this customer is provided in a sap erp2005. I have develop a function modul and wich gave me the appropriate data(customer name). Then I create a web service base on this function module.
When I test this web serviec in WSNavigator, I get the customer name, so the web service is working well.
My Problem is: I can´t invoke this Web Service in Web Dynpro. My steps to invoke web service were: create a model with the web service wsdl and then I add this model in the component (in "Used Models").
I have create a application and assign it to the component. When I "Deploy new archive and Run" the application I be come the error: "Configuration not found for application: demo.sap.com/test_wd3,serviceRefId:7fecf23b-0895-48f3-9902-0e7015a705c3. Please check the configuration details from the NWA. You may have not assigned the Service Group to a Provider System, or the generation of the configuration has failed."
What do I have to consider or to set up?
It is right to assign the input field to the context parameter?
PS: I have followed the steps in this tutorial, but I don´t use XI or PI

  • Problem in connecting JCO destination in web dynpro

    HI all,
I was installed sneak preview of Net weaver 6.4,
I want to do some web dynpro (java) programs which connect to back end systems.(R/3 system).
The R/3 system which I want to connect is at remote place, i have connectivity to that R/3 system using VPN connectivity. With this I am not having any problem. Since I am able to connect using User name and password, and able to do some transactions like RZ70, etc.
I developed an application which calls COMPANY_CODE_GET_LIST (BAPI function).
for the above requirement what I did was
    (1)I created SLD setting.
(a)Web as Java (I am not having any problem to
    Create this.
    (b) Web as ABAP.
When i am trying to create
This, there are some steps like i need to go to SAP log in and I need to run the transaction RZ70. For this i need to create an enter in visual administrator>JCO RFC Provider>runtime-->Bundles i need to create an entry for RFC destination as well as Repository.
under RFC destination there are some fields which i need to enter those are (a)Program ID as mySLD (b) Gateway Host as 10.10.10.125 (c)Gateway service as sapgw00 (d)Number of processes as 1
    Under Repository (a) Application server host 10.10.10.125 (b)system number as 00 (c)Client number as 100 (d)Language as en (e)user as ABCD (f)password as 1234
I haven't choused the check boxes Local bundle and Unicode and pressed the set button. So like this i created the RFC destinations. under the properties tab there is a property called RFC_DEFAULT_DESTINATION by default it was false so i made it as true. .
I also went to SLD Data Supplier, under Runtime tab , HTTP Settings , I mentioned
    (a)Host: pava-vis75
    (b) Port: 50000
    (c) user: administrator
    (d) password: abcd1234
    RFC Settings, I mentioned as
(a)Gateway Host: 10.10.10.125 (which is SAP R/3 system)
    (b)Gateway Service/Host: sapgw00
    CIM Client Generation settings, as
    (a)Host: pava-vis75
    (b)Port (http/https):50000
    (c) user: administrator
    (d) Password : abcd1234
I tested the CIMClient Test by click the the button. I got the successful message.
Then I came back to HTTP settings and clicked the button with tilted arrow mark [This triggers data transfer to system landscape directory], for this also I got a successfully message.[data transferred successfully]
Next I been to SAPLOGON and went to RFC Destinations by using sm59 transaction. There under TCP/IP connections i been to SLD_NUC , opened this by double clicking that and under Technical settings for Program ID I had given the ID which I created at visual administrator [JCO RFC Provider] which is mySLD , under gateway options for Gateway Host as 10.10.10.125and Gateway service as sapgw00 then i tested the connection, it was also successfully.
Then I opened the SLDAPICUST and i created a new entry for maintaining the SLD Access Data by giving some couple of entries as
    (a)Alias: vissldtest
    (b)Host Name: pava-vis75
    (c)Port: 50000
    (d) user: administrator
    (e) password: abcd1234
    Then saved it.
    Next I created sapmsUV0 3600/tcp entry at
    WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services file, and also there are some required entries which are already existing those are sapgw00 3300/tcp to sapgw99 3399/tcp , another entry starts from sapdp00s 4700/tcp to sapdp99s 4799/tcp , next entry starts from sapgw00s 4800/tcp to sapgw99s 4899/tcp and sapmsJ2E 3601/tcp .
I restarted the system, as well as server.
Now my problem is when I was trying to create JCO destination at web dynpro content administrator. For that I navigated as “create JCO Destination &#61664;Deployed Content&#61664;local-&#61664;local/CompanyCodeGetList-&#61664;Applications&#61664; CompanyCodeGetList
I Choosed the JCO Connections tab-&#61664; there are 2 entries those are
    (1) COMPANY_CODE_MODEL
    (2) COMPANY_CODE_RFC_METADATA
So I started creating connection for COMPANY_CODE_RFC_METADATA.
    First one is
    General data Name : COMPANY_CODE_RFC_METADATA
    Client : 100
I didn’t changed any default JCo pool configuration.
    J2EE Cluster
There is a check box called “Use Local J2EE engine J2E on pava-vis75’ so I choosed that.
    Connection Type
Dictionary Meta Data and application Data
    I choosed the first one.
    Then
    Msg. Server Connection
    Security
After these, I tried to test the connection by clicking the ‘Test Connection.
It is saying the error as
    First time
    com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM TYPE=B MSHOST=v011 GROUP=DEFAULT R3NAME=UV0 MSSERV=sapmsUV0 PCS=1 ERROR service 'sapmsUVO' unknown TIME Fri Jul 01 07:20:41 2006 RELEASE 640 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 37 RC -3 COUNTER 1
    second time
    com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM TYPE=B MSHOST=v011 GROUP=DEFAULT R3NAME=UV0 MSSERV=sapmsUV0 PCS=1 ERROR service '?' unknown TIME Fri Jul 01 07:20:41 2006 RELEASE 640 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 37 RC -3 COUNTER 1
Can any body please help me to solve this problem.
From past 1 week on wards I have been trying to resolve this. But in vain.

It does not necessarily mean that you have to change that parameter. I read that blog as I had a similar problem, and after reading it and understanding the reasons and possible causes for the error, I found that my particular problem was that I was using "PUBLIC" as the logon group in my JCO destinations, but such a group does NOT exist at my backend. I went to transaction SMLG, had a look at Logon Groups, noted that there were none other than SPACE, figured out that I had to include that information in SLD (Web AS ABAP tech. system --> Message Server --> Logon Groups), put it there. Voilá. It works.
Edit: That SPACE logon group is the one I had to use at JCO destinations. Sorry I forgot to mention that one...

    Eduardo.

  • Action (navigation) when click on Hyperlink field in ALV web dynpro

    Hi - I had a question about Hyperlink in ALV web dynpro and it was answered in  Link: [web dynpro abap ALV link to (hyperlink);
Now I need to click the Hyperlink field and navigate to another screen.
i.e. I have a Object ID (PR Number) when I click the PR number I need to open the PR Document also another case is at the item level if the PR has more than one item I'm showing the word "MULTIPLE" so if the user click on Multiple I need to show all the items (material) in another ALV table that I already create.
    Thanks for your help!
    Jason P-V

    Hi,
As per my understanding, there are PR number and Material and other columns in the SAME ALV table right.
There is a ONCLICK event for ALV not for the VIEWCONTAINTERELEMENT.
In the View where you have the ALV as component usage under view's properties, you have ALV usage right.
Now, under the METHODS tab of the ALV, implement an event
Onclick   EventHandler  ONCLICK(press F4) of that ALV.
Now the Click event is implemented for that ALV. When ever you click on any column(Hyperlink) this gets called.
Here there are parameters that you need to use it. R_PARAM has both the index and the element.
Based on the COLUMN you can call the respective event.
The index that you have clicked i shown from r_param->index and you can also know ATTRIBUTE name(column name).
    If attribute eq 'PRNUMBER'
    *call the Purchase requistion transaction
    elseif attribute eq 'MATNR'.
*call the popup for other ALV as component usage to display item details.
    endif.

  • Window size, and navigation issues with Web Dynpro and GP

I have a Web Dynpro application which navigates to other Web Dynpro applications.  I also need to integrate this application into a GP.  When I create a process that calls the Web Dynpro app, two things I've noticed are:
    1. The window size presented in the GP process is too small, and there is no way to scroll to see the rest of the app.  How can I change the initial size of the Window to show the entire application?  This is an absolute show stopper...
    2. Other functionality is made available to the Web Dynpro app by navigating to other Web Dynpro applications.  Outside of the GP, this works correctly.  However, from within the application when started via a GP, I get the following error when I try to trigger an action that will lead to a navigation event:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Cannot navigate via outbound plug CreatePdf of view TestView because there is no navigational link attached to it
        at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.view.View.navigate(View.java:541)
        at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.view.View.navigate(View.java:462)
Any ideas? Do I have to manually instantiate the various components when the root Web Dynpro app is called from a GP?

Update: this was my mistake - I had neglected to configure all the view containers in the WebDynproCO window, which was generated by adding the GP interface to the component.  All is well.

  • How to create navigational links...and connect views of another component

    Hi...
I am new to SAP CRM...
I have a requirement where i need to navigate from the main window of a component to the view of a different component.
    Scenario:
When i click on edit button after selecting a line item in the assignment block in the BT111H_OPPT/Details ,it should navigate to the details page of the line item which is the view of another component that has been created .say ZRP/PEL.
How can i achieve this using the concept of inbound/outbound plugs and navigational links?
I have got a vague idea on plugs from my search...that these are entry/exit points to views.
But what is the procedure to follow to attain the functionality?
How do we decide on which component needs which all plugs?
    Anyhelpful pointers would be rewarded.
Also, an idea on what exactly does the inbound/outbound plugs do and how is the flow happening , how are navigational links working etc would be appreciated.
    Thanks..

    Steps to create navigational link:
    1.     Create an outbound plug in the component from where you want to navigate. Sometimes
standard navigational links are already there.. you just need to identify it.
    2.     Create a Component usage in runtime repository for target component.
    3.     Add this component usage to the main window view in repository.
    4.     Create navigation link between the transaction type and the target component view.
    5.     In the outbound plug, use the view manager to navigate to the target component. Ex:
                    ME->FIRE_OUTBOUND_PLUG( IV_OUTBOUND_PLUG   = 'TO_OUTPLUG''
                              IV_DATA_COLLECTION = LR_COL ).
    6.     Pass the data through the data collection.

  • Problem in calling XI generated Web Service via Java Web Dynpro

    Hi experts,
I have problems with calling a web service, which was created by XI. I have already tested the web service with Altova XMLSpy. The Web Service works fine.
But when embedding this web service into Java Web dynpro application no message flow is given. I have two views one Selection View and one Result View which should show the answer sent by RFC-Call.
    <b>My Settings in NWDS:</b>
During configuration of web dynpro I have choosen 'Import adaptive Web Service Model' --> Select wsdl file via local file system --> 'no logical destinations - use WSDL URL for metadata retrieval and web service execution'.
The model is also not shown in diagram view although I have added into the diagram.
The web service was created on XI 7.0.
Should I do any other settings e.g. in Visual Administrator, Web Dynpro Content Administrator?
    So can anybody help me.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Want docs for Web Dynpro ABAP

    Hi All ,
Can anyone please send me the Docs or link for Web Dynpro ABAP .
    Thanks in advance
    Rahul

    Hi,
    Web Dynpro ABAP
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/db22242d-0701-0010-28a2-aeaa1fefd706
Also, I have the official Web Dynpro for ABAP documentation. Please let me know if I should send it to you.
Hope that the following also helps you.
Web Dynpro for ABAP (WD4A, WDA) is the SAP standard UI technology for developing Web
applications in the ABAP environment. It consists of a runtime environment and a graphical
development environment with special Web Dynpro tools that are integrated in the ABAP
    Workbench (SE80).
Web Dynpro offers the following advantages for application developers:
? The use of declarative and graphical tools significantly reduces the implementation
    effort
? Web Dynpro supports a structured design process
? Strict separation between layout and business data
? Reuse and better maintainability by using components
? The layout and navigation is easily changed using the Web Dynpro tools
? Stateful applications are supported – that is, if the page is changed and the required
data remains intact so that you can access it at any time throughout the entire
    application context.
Note that stateless applications are not possible.
? Automatic data transport using data binding
    ? Automatic input check
? Automatic operation of the Web Dynpro application using the keyboard
? User interface accessibility is supported
? Full integration in the reliable ABAP development environment
    Web Dynpro Architecture
    Definition
Web Dynpro is the SAP NetWeaver programming model for user interfaces (UIs).
The Web Dynpro model is based on the Model View Controller paradigm, and has the
following features that build on the classic dynpro model:
? Clear separation of business logic and display logic
? Uniform metamodel for all types of user interfaces
? Execution on a number of client platforms.
? Extensive platform independence of interfaces
    Structure
    Metamodel Concept
Web Dynpro provides support for developing Web representation of a business application.
You use specific tools to describe the properties of a Web Dynpro application in the form of
Web Dynpro metadata. The necessary source code is then generated automatically and
executed at runtime. In addition to the events offered by the framework, you can also define
your own events for a Web Dynpro application. However, the event handling must always be
programmed in separate source code areas which are executed automatically when the event
    is triggered at runtime.
In Web Dynpro, each user interface is always made up of the same basic elements. These
elements of the metamodel can be statically declared using Web Dynpro tools.
It is also possible to implement elements of the metamodel at runtime and to change them or
reintegrate them at runtime. Using these implementations, you can make any changes or
enhancements to a user interface that has been created by declarative methods by
generating new interface structures at runtime.
This means that you can combine declarative processes and the implementation of source
    code.
    Graphical Development Tools
To support this declarative concept, both the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio and the
ABAP Workbench contain a range of Web Dynpro tools. You can therefore generate a large
proportion of a Web Dynpro application using the tools provided, without having to create your
own source code. This applies to the following parts of the application:
? Data flow between the front end and back end
? Layout of the user interface
? Properties of user interface elements
The Web Dynpro tools enable you to create source text areas manually within generated
source texts. These areas are not changed if the source code is regenerated.
Separation of Business and Application Logic
Using Web Dynpro enables a clear separation of business logic and display logic. A Web
Dynpro application runs on the front end and has local or remote access to the back end
system via a service. This means that the display logic is contained in the Web Dynpro
application, while the business logic and the persistence of the business objects run in the
back end system. The following options are currently available for connecting Web Dynpro
    applications and the back-end system:
? An interface generated using adaptive RFC, through which BAPIs of an SAP system
    can be called
? An interface for calling Web services
    ? A self-generated interface
The source code required for connecting the Web Dynpro application can be generated
from a UML definition of the Web Dynpro interface. A UML definition can be imported
into the Web Dynpro tools as an XML file.
    Conversion of the Model-View-Controller
Conversion of the Model-View-Controller Programming Model
Every Web Dynpro application is structured according to the Model View Controller
    programming model:
? The model forms the interface to the back end system and thus enables the
Web Dynpro application access to data.
? The view is responsible for the representation of the data in the browser.
? The controller lies between the view and the model. The controller formats
the model data to be displayed in the view, processes the user entries made by the
user, and returns them to the model.
