Web Form to compare 2 Years Value

Dear All,
In Hyperion Planning form, can we just select one user variable (e.g CurrYr) and the prior year will be automatically related to the Curr Year..?? Because in the form, need to show the value between Curr Year and Prior Year. So, we only select one time (only for the current year)
Example :
- If the Curr Year = FY12, then the Prior Year = FY11
Any idea..??
Thanks.
Regards,
VieN

Hi,
The only way I could think of is to use a dynamic calc version. Place the Year dimension as the first dimension in column and select only CurrYr. Place version as the second dimension and place the current version (i.e. Current) and dynamic version (i.e. Previous Year). The formula within Previous year will be something like below:
@PRIOR(Current,@CHILDREN(Years))
If you are going to use multiple versions, then you'd need to apply this to another dimension.
Cheers,
Alp

  • Using md5 in a manul tabular form to compare if column value changed

    Version: Application Express 3.2.0.00.27
    Hello,
    I am creating a manul tabular form using apx_item in my select statment that is the source for the query in a report region. I am using a collection. The collection creation statement is:
        apex_collection.create_collection_from_query(
           p_collection_name => 'DELEG_COLL',
           p_query           => 'SELECT authid
                               ,empid empid

                               ,delremovalcomments delremovalcomments
                               ,delegator delegator
                               ,''O'' original_record
                               ,wwv_flow_item.md5(delscope, dellimits, subdelrights,

                                  delremovalcomments, delegator)
                               FROM tbl_delegations
                               where empid = v(''P12_EMPID'')',
           p_generate_md5     => 'YES');The above code is giving me an error in the function
    wwv_flow_item.md5(delscope, dellimits, subdelrights,
                                  to_char(delexpiry,''DD-MON-YYYY'') delexpiry,
                                  to_char(datedelremoved,''DD-MON-YYYY'') datedelremoved,
                                  delremovalcomments, delegator)It doesn't seem to like where I attempt to convert date column delexpiry and datedelremoved to a varchar. I am doing this as in the db they are dates and inorder to using the md5 function to compare if the values have changed and only update rows where the values changed.
    There error that I get is:
    ORA-20104: create_collection_from_query Error:ORA-20104: create_collection_from_query ParseErr:ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis
    In the collection I am trying to store the md5 hash result. I haved all the update and insert logic working expect for date type columns. THose give the above error.
    I thank you ahead of time for your assistance!

    Helen,
    Not sure I fully understand your goal.  We don't use "tasks" at all but if you are looking to have your workflow check certain valus and be able to send email messages to people based on whatever, then you can certainly do that (as long as your Sharepoint
    has the email setup.  We do this for alot of workflow tasks.
    So, in the workflow you can have a blanket statement like what I previously listed:
    if Current Item:hiddenStatus  not equals Current Item:Status
        .... do something
    or you can do something like:
    if Current Item:hiddenStatus equals "In-Progress"
        .... do something
    Else if Current Item:hiddenStatus  equals "Completed"
        .... do something
    or combine the two and do nested "if" statements.  Then you add an email statement wherever you need it like:
    if Current Item:hiddenStatus  equals "Completed"
       then email "these users"
    To add the email part, just type in "email" on the line where you want to add a statment.  There is only one option to choose from.  That will display the line "then email these users".   The "these users" will be a link.  When you
    click it you will get a popup to add the email info.  We typically will send the email to a user (or users) that are already listed in one of the PeoplePicker fields.  On the email form, you can type in your own text, designate that a value is based
    on a column value (like our PeoplePicker), designate that a value is based on a workflow variable, add a link to the current item, etc.  To get to these options you will click the button to the right of the fields or use the "Add or Change Lookup" button
    in the bottom-left for the text area.  There is alot you can set in the mail.
    Does this help answer your question?

  • Web Form Cancel Edit button changes value of List View item when clicked

    I have a web form, I shows 3 buttons, Edit, Save, And cancel. When the user presses the edit button it enables editing. When the user makes an edit and presses the save button it saves the changes. When the user presses the cancel button, it does cancel
    the edit ok but it changes the vale in the left list view to a different value.  For instance my left list view has a list of vendor names.  When I click cancel, the vendor name shown for the selected record, changes to the vendor number.  I
    have experimented with different values to show in the list view, I have turned off sorting, etc.  No matter what everytime I click cancel button it changes the vendor name to the vendor number.
    Even stranger is when I scroll the list up and the item that changed is move out of view and then you scroll back down to put it in view it puts the value back to the vendor name.
    This isn't consistent as I have created some forms where it doesn't do this.
    Also when I create a new list view, does anyone know how to get it into the tile pane .  the only way to get anything in that list appears to be that I have to create a whole new table.

  • Regarding Isuue in entering data in Web Form

    Hello,
    I am using Hyperion Planning 11.1.2 and i am trying to insert value in web form but when i enter value in Level 0 cells , except one cells all values are saved and that member is stored and is implied share of parent member.

    Hi,
    That is most probably an implied sharing problem. See below:

  • Allocating data in Web Form

    Hello All-
    I have a data form which have accounts in row and periods in column. For my month Jan , Feb i have actuals numbers and the member YearTotal shows me the sum of the 2 periods & is dynamic calc. However on the same form i have months march to december which are open for forecasting and have all yellow cells as users can input data. Now i want users to input data in year total and allocate back to open months that is March to december on web form. As my year total has number and is dynamic calc it is marked green. How can i provide this utility to users without changing year total member from dynamic to store.
    Please advise!
    Thanks!

    Hello John-
    Yes that did the trick just verifying if there is a way where in i can show users all the periods and yeartotal and have them input the data?? If i select Idesecndants(YearTotal) it gives me Quater members as well in between is there a way where in i can avaoid quater members and just show the level 0 periods and year total ??
    Thanks!

  • Web Forms using substitution variables with multiple values

    Hi,
    I am trying to select a substitution variable in a webform (Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3) with multiple values in EAS, but is not working does somebody knows if this an expected behaviour.
    I allready try ex.
    &Months = "Jan","Feb", "Mar"
    &Months = Jan, Feb, Mar
    &Months = Jan:Mar
    Please let me know something, since as far as I recall in previous versions of Hyperion Planning this was possible.
    Kind Regards

    We experienced the same issue, our requirement was that for the first half of the year the substitution variable was = Oct and for the second part of the year Jan:Dec. We were lucky that for the second scenario we had a Total Year member as well (that at the bottom level is Jan:Dec). So on web form we picked Level0 descendants of the substitution variable. That worked fine but not the range.

  • Web Form Adjust Values

    hi ,
    If the users enter data in year total and spread it out across the months in web form if there a way in which we can restrict the values after decimal to only 2. I am on planning 9.2.
    Thanks in advance!

    hi John,
    Thanks for the reply. If i set the precision for the currency values as max as 2 and i save data from the form. This precision values are not applied to the data thats stored in essbase it just for the dispay on the form is that right?
    Please advise!
    Thanks!

  • Value field in web form

    Hi
    I want to put a default value in a web form feild but when a user clicks the form field the value disappears to allow them to input their text.
    How is this done? I tried adding  value="text" but this make the value permanent and has to be deleted by the user before they can fill in the field.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks
    Ken

    I used this from StackOverflow...
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>
    </title>
    <script lang='javascript'>
    function makeBlank(obj,defMsg){
        if(obj.value==defMsg){
            obj.value="";
    function fillDefValue(obj,defMsg){
        if(obj.value==""){
            obj.value=defMsg;
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <input style="width:190px" onblur="fillDefValue(this,'User Name')" onfocus="makeBlank(this,'User Name')" value="User Name" name="fromname" id="fromname" type="text">
    </body>
    </html>
    Works nicely :-)

  • Restricting the values of a dropdown in Hyperion Planning web form

    Hi,
    I have two dimensions(Entity and Project) represented in the page of a Hyperion Planning web form.Is it possible to constrain the values of a dropdown(Project) based on the value selected in another dropdown(Entity) in a data form in Hyperion Planning 11.1.1?
    Best Regards,
    Malini

    The short answer is no.
    You could make separate forms per entity which could be cumbersome to manager or pershaps do something with a suppress missing form by filling in say BegBalance with a value and suppressing the intersections that were not valid.

  • Need to show DFF Values on Web Form

    Hi All,
    I need to show DFF values on Web Form without customization , is it possible with Personalization?
    Regards,
    Sajid

    This is quite Possible with Seeded OAF page.
    Check first if DFF already on page using the personlization.
    If It is not available you can include flex item using personlization for enabling the DFF.
    Check this notes

  • Using Substitution Variable in Web forms

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use substitution variable in a planning web form &CurYr in the Column, after creating the form when I save it and try to open the form it says the substitution variable required for this calculation is undefined .Variable : &CurYr.It should be defined as I'm able to see it and select it for the column/row. Any kind of help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Vinil

    You usually get this error message if you are trying to assign a value from a sub var to a member that does not exist.
    e.g. trying to put FY08 which is a year member against a period dimension
    or trying to use a sub var of FY09 which does not yet exist in the essbase, so say you added a new year in planning FY09 and used the sub var in the form but have not refreshed the database then it would fail because the year would not have been pushed down to essbase yet.
    or the value of the subvar does not match a member name exactly
    or using a sub var name that does not exist in essbase, e.g. using &nextYear but the sub var has not been created in essbase.
    You can definitely use subsitution variables in columns in the version you are using and prior version.
    Cheers
    John

  • Web Form Error Message

    I have a very large collection form although it only has 14 "Required fields
    When I press submit, I get a new page with the following message -
    ERROR: An error occurred. Your web form must capture customer name and email address. Please fix this issue and re-insert your web form on your web page.
    Name and email are definitely there, and I have tested every field and submitted data.
    However if I enter just my name and email address, then all the other required fields are ignored.
    I cut down the code to only include the fields that are important to check - same result

    I checked it against another smaller form, which is working but can't see any difference between the first few lines and last lines.

    It is a module inserted basic implementation.
    It allows for drag and drop ordering which will update the form and any changes and new additions will update the form - which is what is happening in your case.
    ID's etc changing have no baring on what is happening.
    But what your saying... I am not sure your seeing what your saying. Even in this case I do can not replicate what your doing.
    This is a test form:
    The ID is - CAT_Custom_19956061
    I can edit auto responder, I can add new fields, I can save and update the form in the admin, go into another part of the admin and come back - the ID for this field NEVER changes. The Script ID etc in the html of course updates if I make changes this never changes.
    The ONLY way this changes is if I delete and remake the field.
    So you need to make a BC support ticket. Your either doing something critical like removing and re-adding the form fields and not stating that here or, for what ever reason on that site only there is an issue.

  • Web form security

    Hi All ,
    I have migrated hyperion planning 9.3.1 to 11.1.2 , the database was restored and i am able to login into the Planning 11.1.2.
    But I am not able to see the webforms , If i login with the admin i could able to see. If I login with any other having Planner as the role , i am not able to see any webform.
    It seems the webforms previlages are lost during tghe migration ? how can i get them back.
    Please help
    MP

    First, you should be posting this in the Planning forum Planning and Budgeting
    Since 11.1.2 is not officially supposed to be available for upgrate/migrate, there will always be issues. And security has been changed alot. If you compare the xml files of exported web forms, you will see that security values have changed. I would suggest you manually assign security again.
    If the number of forms is large, you may want to export them using FormDefUtil and then modifying all the xml files to match 11.1.2 format.
    Cheers

  • Customizing Planning Web Forms using Javscript

    <p>Hi,</p><p>I am looking at writing custom javascript code for web forms. Inthis regards, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a way for meto access member properties through custom javascript. The code inSampleValidateData.js which is in the custom folder of theHyperionPlanning.war file only provides insight into accessing cellvalues and row/collumn member names and values. How is it possibleto access member properties like alias, comment field etc whichhave been entered when setting up the Dimensions throughPlanning.</p><p> </p><p>Any help will be much appreciated.</p><p> </p><p>Regards,</p><p> </p><p>Ryan</p>
