Web item "TABLE" -- How to hide rows of a particular column.

HI,
In the web item "table", is there anyway that i can hide the rows of a particular column(for example: material column) except the result rows.
Here is the Query result:

Material
KF1
KF2
KF3
Result__________________________400_____700____300
1001_________________Result_____150_____300____150
_____________________10_________100_____200____100
_____________________20_________50______100____50

After formatting the query result looks like:

How can i hide the item rows except the "Result" rows of the material column?

Dear Ravi,
look in the BW WEB API Documentation on help.sap.com for more details (or just search in SDN for it).
In General:
- create class which inherit from CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE
- redifine method CHARACTERISTIC_CELL
- insert coding:
if i_iobjnm eq '0MATERIAL' and i_IS_SUM is initial.
free C_CELL_CONTENT.
endif.
- Insert the parameter MODIFY_CLASS with the name of your new class into your template
result: you see the result of the column but not the single values.

I just would like to know that how to hide rows except dbms_rls package? I mean, it has been said that I can hide rows to create views but lets said that I have got 200 students and each student can see only their rows in students table, in that scenerio I have to create 200 views, isn't it? I just would like to learn that how to hide rows with using views? Do you have any ideas?
Note: I know dbms_rls package, except this solution I am tryin to find onather solution.

If every student is a separate Oracle user, the USER fucntion will return the name of the current user. A view definition can reference that function, like this:
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW view_x
AS
SELECT   *
FROM    table_x
WHERE   student_account = USER;If you logged in to Oracle as POLAT, then the view will contain only rows where student_account='POLAT'.
If you logged in to Oracle as SYSTEM, then the view will contain only rows where student_account='SYSTEM'.
If students do not have thier own Oracle accounts, then they are probably authenitcated by some procedure in your package. That procedure can set a SYS_CONTEXT variable, or write data to a global temporary table, which you can then use instead of the USER function in view definitions.
Note: I know dbms_rls package, except this solution I am tryin to find onather solution.Why can't you use dbms_rls, or why don't you want to use it? It's a very powerful tool, and not vey hard to use.
I'm not saying there's never a good reason not to use dbms_rls; I'm just asking if you have one.

If not, give a specific example of what you want. Post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for some sample data for all tables involved. Identify 2 or 3 different students, and show what the contents of the view should be for each student, given the same sample data. If students do not log in to Oracle with their own usernames, then explain how you know which student is currently logged in.

How to hide rows with merged cells?

I would like to know how to hide rows on numbers with merged cells, could do it normally at excel but I am not being able to do it at Numbers.

To hide a row with Merged Cells, Un-Merge first, then Hide. Select the Merged Cells and Table > Unmerge.
Note that this is only a problem with vertically merged cells when you want to Hide a Row.
If you want to Hide a Column, you can't have a Horizontal Merge that involves that Column.

Hide row values for certain column in GRR2

Hi Experts,
Looking for some help in report painter. I need to hide row values for certain columns in report painter. The requirement is I have 5 columns in the report, the 5 th column is the sum of col 1 to 4 and in my row i have a formula setup to sum of values for each column, what i would like to do is for column 1 thru 4 i didnt want to display the total values in row total but i wanted to dispaly value for column 5 in row total. I have been trying my best with putting formula, but couldnt succeed.
Could somebody let me know is there an way to get this addressed.

How was it achieved ? Did you use sections for the columns for which rows needed to be hidden?

Try to use the Table Model.
The "getValueAt" Methode decide what to Display.
So a simple "if" command can hide the complete row - or a single Statement.

Can anyone tell me how I can increase the cell padding ie the cell size and also the font size inside the cell for table web item. There is no property to achieve this, we can change the static html code but that doesn't solve my problem. Do we have to create a custom stylesheet?

I've also a question related to formatting data cell.
We would like to use custom number format in our web reports and doing so want to present data like 1'3 (#'##) instead of 1.260.000 in the data cells.
Should we use Java Script within DATA_CELL method or is it possible to do this with the usage of C_CELL_TD_EXTEND?

it's been solved with the following ABAP Code in DataCell method...
DATA : str TYPE string,
       pvalue TYPE p DECIMALS 1.
    IF i_alertlevel IS INITIAL .

How to hide rows if all values are Zero (0) horizontally?

Hi,
I have got a requirement to hide rows from the results if all values are equal to zero horizontally.
Example:
Region   M1    M2   M3
East     0      0    3
West    10     20    0
South   -5      0    5
North    0      0    0In the above example only North Region row should be hidden from the results becasue all the measures values are zero.
Can someone please let me know the logic to achieve this?

Your answer was spot on(you are awarded points) but not my question. My client uses some X erp, which removes all zero value records when he clicks to see results. He wanted the same thing for Answers (he does not want to add any filters). Is there anyway to achive that, like using javascript or something?

How to get all returned values in rows in a column.
e.g., a query gives output as :

all in different rows. But i want the result like this:

The title of the thread is misleading as turning rows into columns is called pivoting, but the description of the issue wanting to join all the rows together into a single column, is actually called string aggregation.
As already demonstrated it can be done several ways.
1. with XML functionality
2. using the SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH method
and if you have 11gR2, there's...
3. the new LISTAGG analytical function.
There is also an undocumented WMSYS.WM_CONCAT function, though this isn't as flexible as other methods in that you can't control the order of the aggregated data so easily, and using such undocumented functions in production code is dangerous, as the functionality could change in future versions of Oracle, as well as it's use making your code such that Oracle will not provide support if the code with issue is using it.

I have a requirement.
I have product column, sell, purchace prices..(total of three columns) in a data set.
my data set is such a way that..if sale price exists...there is no purchase price and vice versa..
I need too present in a report ,two tables:
table 1 consists of only Sale price items
table 2 should contain only Pruchase Items.
Please see the below picture for clear understanding..

Oracle Event alert is based on update of specific table and not on specific column in table.
However you can create a trgigger on table which is based on updat of column. And in this trigger you can send a mail using plsql.

Display one or more rows for a particular column in alv grid display

Hi,
My requirement in the report is to display users for a particular workitem id.If a workitem is in the inbox of one or more users(approvers) i have to display all the user names in one field in alv grid output (output-approver id).There are other fields which display details of the workitem also.
Is there a way to populate multiple rows for a single column or creating one more internal table for users in the alv output table.
Please suggest.

ALV only can show flat internal table data.
you should set a sort on the field which you want to show only once.
Then on the output of the ALV, the field with the same value will show only once.
