Web Objects and OS 10.5 Server
OK Apple I give up. Am I supposed to get Web Objects with OS 10.5 Server or not?
It looks like I can get the deployment software with X Code but how about the development software? If I am just confused and have neglected to download the correct Web Objects files then please enlighten me,

The development stuff comes with Xcode. You have to download and install Xcode to do WO development.
OS X Server includes the deployment stuff - basically the J2EE container.

Copying database objects and data from one server database to another server database in AG group
Hi,
I am still trying to wrap my head around sql clusters and AGs and I have a project that requires I take a vendor's database and restore it weekly so its available on the production server which is clustered.
The vendor's database on the cluster is in an AG group and encrypted.
Right now, I plan to restore the database on a sql staging server and use the SSIS Transfer SQL Server Objects Task to copy the table structure and data from Stage to the Production database of same name and I would first drop the objects in production
database using the same task.
I am concerned that this might cause issues with the passive cluster due to "logging" from active to passive. The database is about 260 MBs and I am not sure how many tables.
Has anyone run into this type of scenario before or have a better solution?

SueIF I understand anything about clustered sql and logging, the sql server should take the log file and recreate the same scenario on the passive side of the cluster.

Yes, for AlwaysOn Availability Group, the transaction log is basically replayed from the primary to all of the secondary's.
Besides, from my point of view, as we cannot directly restore a database that is part of an Availability Group, it is a good way using SSIS task to drop and recreate all tables then transfer data from the restored database to the primary replica. Schema changes
and data changes will also happen on the secondary replica.

Impact Analysis: How to trace which Webi objects and tables used in a report?
Currently, our company have been using BO Webi as our ad-hoc and reporting tool for over a year now. Past several months, we've been pushing our power users to develop their own report, and started to notice that we loss track off which data (tables, columns, ... , BO objects) being used where and by whom. The BI team now spend more time tracing through reports manually, instead of designing Universe.
After consulted with our local SAP technical sale, they said the only solution is to buy BO's ETL (Data Integration) and
Metadata Management tool, which price starting from $300K per CPU. I suppose that is NOT the right solution; however, we have not found one yet. Some executives believe Cognos (now by IBM) would provide a better BI solution as we scale.
If anyone know, please provide (1) Impact Analysis method: How to trace which Webi objects and tables used in a report? and (2) Does Cognos provide better impact analysis method without a heavy spending?

have you tried enabling auditing?
- Yes, audit log only shows user's activities which isn't useful for us. Please let us know any audit log that might be helpful .
For most of the servers listed in the CMC there is an "Audit" tab. I'd say if you have the disk space in your database for Auditor available, then if in doubt turn it on (at least for a while) to see if it exposes what you are seeking to find out --that'd be the quickest way. The documentation (xir2_bip_auditor_en.pdf) doesn't offer much in helping you to see a correlation between ticking on an Audit option in a Server and how it will populate in the Auditor DB -- most of us just hunt and peck until we get what we want. Once you have the good stuff in each of the Servers ticked on you'll be able to track down which report recieves which object. To help youself out initially, you should run every report that you can find so Auditor will get seeded.

Cannot start Web Cache in Oracle 10g App Server

Our Application runs on Oracle10g App Server,
When it tried to start WebCache using the command
opmnctl startproc ias-component=WebCache process-type=WebCache
it shows the error...
opmn id=oracle10g:6200
no enabled components for this request
When i tried to enable WebCache using Enable/Disable Component in Oracle 10g Enterprise manager - I can't see WebCache component it to enabe or disable it.
When i tried opmnctl status., it shows

Web Object Widget non-functional?
Hello again!
So I'm trying to use the web object widget to pull up a surveygizmo survey (which provides handy web links, HTML embeds, java embeds etc.), but it's not loading up. It works only when in previews within Captivate. Once published, it does not work. I have tested it both in our LMS (Cornerstone), and on SCORM Cloud. I've gone even further to change it to the default Bing.com to see if I can even bring anything up with the web object and again tested it on SCORM cloud and even Bing.com wouldn't come up.
Am I doing something wrong, missing something necessary to make the web object widget to work? I've published in both HTML5, SWF, and a SWF/HTML5 combo. Any help would be great! Thanks!This seems like a similar question - http://forums.adobe.com/message/6142119#6142119
I haven't run into the problem you have, but it sounds like it won't show any Web site once you've published, right?
Is there perhaps some issue with the LMS? Or are you saying it also does not work when you upload it to SCORM Cloud?
I recall I ran into a problem with a Web Object when I had checked off the "Scalable HTML content" during publishing. I don't remember the specific issue, but there was a problem with that.

Whenever I use the new Web Object in Captivate 7 I get a grey border on the bottom and right side. And I have the Border option unchecked. I've tried re-sizing the either Web Object or the web page I'm loading, but that doesn't help. Is there a fix or work-around for this?
Also, when I play this on an iPad the border thickens up. Sveral pixels wide.

I need to show a window with text on the same page as a Web Object. The text window appears with a button click. However, the Web Object is always on top. Is there a way to hide the Web Object temporarily, or, make it so it is not always on top?
Just checked it out and it was perfectly possible to have a text container (made it transparent, only text) on top of a web object, and have a (shape) button that makes it appear. Can you check the Timeline: is the text on this slide and is it on top of the Web ojbect widget?
And what do you mean by 'temporarily' hiding the web object? -
Problem with Jdeveloper and the Web Object Manager
I am trying to register a servlet through the web object manager.
As soon as click the web object manager menu pick I get the following
error: Could not load servlet information from web server.
On other peoples machines here it works fine and they can register
servlets. What am I missing!hmmmm, wondering if I understood you correctly:
first try the file association - right click on one of the movie files (you should tell as well with extension) then 'open with' menu then go to 'choose program' and then choose one of them and coach the box "always use the selected program to open this kind of file" in your example 'window media player'.
the other point I understood is that in download directly into your browser, well there is a settin for this in the option, don't know where exactly, but you can avoid this by right clicking on the movie/file link and choose 'save target as ...' this forces it to download it on your disk and then you can open it.

Objects, web services and netbeans
I am trying to make a web service that returns an array of objects (where each object is a small number of strings). I shall list what I have done, if you just want to read the problem skip to <PROBLEM>.
1) Wrote .wsdl file [1]
In netbeans:
2) Generated web service from WSDL:
A) New web application, using the sun application server
B) New Web Service From WSDL (this gives an error, Illegal character in path at index 18: file:/<path of wsdl file>)
C) Right click on web service, Refreash service. No error
D) Run project, test web service, seems to work, returns null.
3) Consumed service:
A) New general application,
B) In main method, right click / Web Service Client Resources / Call Web Service Operation
C) Select method (getparams(String))
D) Add import org.impress.PortType; as prompted
E) Run project, Result = null
Now I want to add some data to what I am passing. First I return a new namespace.webservice._new.Paramarrayel (what netbeans decided the method should return). The client now shows that something is returned (org.impress.Paramarrayel@1bb5c09).
<PROBLEM>
Now this is where I get stuck. I want to add the data, the client knows there should be a .getGetparamreturns() function in the returned org.impress.Paramarrayel object but I cannot figure out how to add it in the server. I have tryed extending the namespace.webservice._new.Paramarrayel and namespace.webservice._new.Paramreturns, and adding a Paramreturns as a member variable of Paramarrayel but .getGetparamreturns() returns null in the client.
Anyone able to help?

Web object widget (cp7) and TOC
I am using a web object widget to launch MP4 videos (hosted on a progressive streaming server) within my captivate course. I am wondering if there is a way to accurately track the duration (in the TOC) for these videos. The duration displayed on the TOC is only for the captivate slide duration and does not include the video. Any suggestions?
Hi BubbaRB and welcome to the forums. I love it when people have great questions regarding integration.. and this is an area that Adobe Captivate needs to be better at! It would be nice if the stock web page widget in Cp 7 had the ability to substitute Cp user variables in the URL to make for dynamic rendering of the web page, but unfortunately that's a limitation of the stock widget.
The web page widget on CaptivateDev.com is capable of variable substitution in the URL. You just need to enclose the variable with double dollar signs $$cpQuizInfoStudentID$$.

Downloaded 5.1.1 to my iphone. Now, Safari will not connect to my server. Can not download web pages and many of my apps. Email seems to be ok. iphone running slow and sluggish. I have read several other users have experienced the same problem. Any solutions?
Basic troubleshooting steps oultlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
You need to go through all steps in succession until your problem is solved. If going through ALL these steps fails to resolve your issue, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible replacement. -
