Web pages containing flash run/scroll very slow, help plz

hi guys,
complete first timer on here so be gentle,
i have a very annoying problem with flash player and my
firefox web browser.
what happens is,
normal browsing is all ok with no problems, but as soon as a
flash ad or anything with flash appears , it basically brings that
web page to a stand still.
meaning, you know when you use your scroll wheel under normal
circumstances, to scroll down a page, well when the problem
happens, the page just virtually freezes up, and scrolling just
becomes impossible.
i figured this out to be a flash player problem, when i was
on IGN'S web site, and they have small ads appearing at regular
intervals, and i noticed that as soon as ads appeared, the
scrolling problem happened.
so can anybody give me any ideas as to why or how to stop
this happening.
i have firefox 2.0.0.3 and flash player 9,0,28,0

aghh right,
basically on both the links above, i have no problems,
my problems are whenever there is flash ads or flash movie
streams, my scrolling is so bad, i have to go back to the old
fashion drag the bar.
i did actually think i had cured it with a reinstall of flash
player, but its back again.
as much as it pains me to say this....iam real tempted to go
back to the dreaded I.E.
as my main interests are gaming, virtually all my sites i
visit are every flash orientated, so to be honest, i dont know what
to do.
one thing for sure its dam annoying.

From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
           ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
          Delete All Site Data and Settings
then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane. Test.
If you use a FireWire audio interface, disconnect it and test again. If you don't know what a FireWire audio interface is, you don't have one.

MacBook very VERY slow - help plz!

Hi, woke up this morning and my MacBook (early 2009 revision) is running horribly slowly. In fact its hardly workable at all it is so slow.
I have tried it all
- start in safe mode
- resetting pram
- aplle+s then fsck - fy ; reboot
but nothing works. it is SO SLOW!!!
It would be nice to know if this is hardward-based or not.
Is there anything else I can try before doing the full reinstall?
Any suggestions welcome.

If the previous idea did not help, then you need to backup your files, erase the drive, then reinstall Mountain Lion. Unless I misunderstood your reply. I understood you to say the computer was still running slow.
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

How to create web pages in Flash?

Hi,
I am trying to create a personal portfolio website using Flash CS4.
Understand that there are a number of ways to create web pages using Flash.
One way is to create separate swf files for the web pages and load them when the web page is requested.
Another way is to put the pages in separate frames in the same swf file or to use scenes and use gotoAndPlay().
Another possible way is to create separate movie clips for the web pages.
Wonder if anybody can advice the recommended way of creating the web pages.

there are pros and cons to each approach. which is best for your situation depends on your specifics.

The text on web pages fades as you scroll the page, it reapears if you click refresh or move the mouse arrow over it. I reset FF still doing it.

I went to the same web pages using IE 10 and the text does not fade away.
I reset FF still doing it. I uninstalled and reinstalled FF still doing it.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

Use VLC for YouTube and other Flash Player videos. Flash has become very slow and VLC Web Player works perfectly for other video websites.

I'd like to use VLC Web Player for viewing YouTube videos rather than use Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash is very slow on my other computers and when websites use my VLC Web Player, I have no issues whatsoever. I'm curious if this can be done with Firefox, as I researched it only to find an add-on for Google Chrome only.

You may be able to disable Flash entirely and just use HTML 5 video codecs to view the videos this is faster but you may lose access to some videos such as ones that have mandatory advertisements.

HELP: SimplePass that apart from open web pages, can also run applications

Good, to buy my laptop HP Pavilion m6, I came a version of SimplePass in which could add web pages, passwords and also run applications (such as games), but then I gave for updates thinking that a next version would contain improvements; but the version that was installed no longer gave the option of running applications.
Since then and I tried to find the version I had in the beginning, but without results.
If you know SimplePass versions running programs, or if you know a better version leave the download links, please put them in the answers.

Flash Player is causing my Web Pages to flash like crazy Need help!

I need help, I'm running a computer with Windows 98 4.10.1998
and Running Internet Explorer ver. 6.0.2800.1106IC
I had some problems I have fix eveything but when I got to a
web page it wants
to install and run flash player if I do Install and run, all
my web pages flash
like crazy every clickable icon or line flash the screen
makes it flicker so hard
it is enough to give you a headache. Ad boxes on the pages

strorm. How do I fix this? I never had this before, I ran the

Already checked the Event Viewer. The only thing I could find is this critical level event
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
This only happens when I am running a flash video in IE10. In Chrome everything works fine. I downgraded flash player to 11.4 but with no luck.
From the event viewer, the reboots started from sometime in september.(this is my parents' pc)
I think I found the problem. I changed my video card, a 9600GT, a few months ago with a GT630. I switched back to the 9600GT, and it looks like the issue is not happening any more. But it's still verry ackward for the issue to happen only on IE10.
I'm still testing to be sure that the video card is the problem.

Running very slow help?

Hi can someone please give me som advise. I'm only have beginners knowledge of Mac and my MacBook is running that slow I can hardly use it. I don't have much on it at all and have only used about a third of my hard drive space but I'm at the point where it's almost impossible to use. I use mobile Internet and it works fine for my iPhone and iPad but I can hardly open a webpage on my Mac. This has only been a problem in the last few months as it used to work fantastic. Please help

Check login items. System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items. Delete any apps you see listed there then restart your Mac. See if that made a difference.

Try Safari in another user account. If you can't open web pages on that account either, that's an indication that the startup disk needs repairing.
If you don't have another account setup, open System Preferences > Accounts then select the Password tab.
Click the padlock icon bottom left corner of the window to make changes. You may be prompted for your admin password.
Now click + under the Accounts panel on the left. Fill out the information on the right then click Create Account.
Now click Login Options. Select: Enable fast user switching. Select Name from the pop up menu where you see: View as
Now click the account name top right corner of your Desktop to switch user accounts. It's good to have a "test" account established for troublshooting.
Try Safari. Same issues there, log back into your account.
Then launch Disk Utility located in /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
You will need to use your install disc if repairs are necessary.

Hi All,
Please visit http://www.articulate.com/products/demos/blog/Web_Object_Demo/player.html and click on "embedded Web Object" then you will see that there is a web page in the Flash!
I really want to do the same thing for my full Flash web site, in which I want to do exactly the same thing with the so called "embedded Web Object". But I don't really know how..........
If anyone knows how to do that then please let me know. Thanks a million in advance!

Its a very interesting technique.
What they are doing is using ExternalInterface to call a Javascript function on the page that displays an absolutely positioned iFrame on top of the Flash content. So, the website is not displaying inside the SWF, it only appears to be.
A note: This technique did not work in Google Chrome, and mis-positioned in my IE8

Creating Links for other Web pages within Flash C23

First of all, I'm sure you're tired of answering the
questions regarding "Links". Although, I'm having a very
difficult time with this issue. I just purchased Flash C23,
taken all the tutorials from www.lynda.com, but
I do not find answers for linking one web page to another
within Flash C23. I have read all the answers
on this forum and still can not get my buttons to link up to
my other web pages.
I have figured out how to create the buttons, although, I'm
not doing something right when I try to link up my web
pages. You have to realize I'm coming from Adobe Golive (no
need for codes or scripts). I do not want to stop
using Flash... Can someone help?

Flash CS3 Professional Very Slow & Sluggish

I recently upgraded to Flash CS3 Pro (WinXP). It is very slow
to use -- the mouse keeps getting "stuck" for several seconds at a
time, sometimes longer. It seems to get even slower when I open the
script window (F9).
Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to fix
it? It sort of drives you insane.

You certainly are not alone. I'm running into the same
problem. I have 4gb of ram in my system, though I'm not running
vista yet, thus it sees 2.5gb. I'm on a dual dual-core xeon 3.0g
system, so it actually exceeds the recommendations for HD video. I
have a 5 disc raid0 array.
I don't have any answers for you, nor do I have any new
information. But I do want to confirm that there is a big problem.
My ram appears unused, and so do my CPUs. The CPUs get used for 10
seconds, then sit for 45... it's entirely useless.
Is there anything that can be done? It's really, really
useless to have your computer freeze 2/3 of the time while a
program is simply open and doing nothing...

The latest issue of Pages for iPad: 1. Very slow. 2. Late in reacting to typing. 3. When I go to a specific file, informs me that some images were deleted and therefore file has been changed. Then when OPEN option used, opens file slowly. Please, help!

What I have to do to correct the following problems with Pages app. For iPad:
Hesitates to display results of typing, some times for 5-6 characters;
Very slow in opening files;
Before opening of a specific file displays message: DOCUMENT DETAILS. SOME CHANGES WERE MADE TO YOUR DOCUMENT. SOME IMAGES ARE MISSING BECAUSE THEY WERE DELETED FROM YOUR DOCUMENT. We'll, nothing is missing. But it takes forever to open this file. The previous issue of Pages worked very good. But they would not let me to go back to it. Please, help!

I see you said You paid for shipping, did you Insure it? Claim insurance on it. If you did not, It may not be Verizon or your fault in the sense of the phone not making it to the warehouse. There are people out in the postal world that will steal phones that are not insured. It could have been a Verizon employee, i suppose.
But, if this was to be a bought in court, if you shipped it with out insurance, sadly your at fault.
Do you still have the Serial number of your old phone? If so, you should be able to track where your phone is (if it is reported as a defect/damaged) If so, you may be able to use that as proof. If it does not show up as a defect or what ever they determine use as a loss, then you know it did not make it to the warehouse to be checked in. I would suspect Apple or Verizon could tell you what the Serial number came up as.
