Everytime I add another method on my web services I am deleting and regenerating the services in the Data Services panel.
Refresh does not pick up the new method that has been added to the WSDL
Then I have to reset the data input and return types on every method.
I do this over and over again while developing....
There has got to be a better way... what is it?
Thanks
Dan PrideHi,
Please check note 1004108.
Methods of Application and/or Entity Services (Business Objects) of CAF of SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 cannot be exposed in document style, only RPC/literal is possible. Sorry.
It's a restriction that is planned to be solved in one of the next releases.

Update/insert/delete data from xcelsius to Database via web service
Hi,
I need to create dashboard that go function can <b>update/insert/delete</b> data send to <u>Database</u> thru <u>web services</u>, as i know got 2 xcelsius add-on software which support those of function <b>InfoBurst</b> and <b>flynet </b>
<b>InfoBurst</b>
http://www.infosol.com/azbocug/minutes/4-Writeback%20to%20a%20Database%20with%20Xcelsius.pdf
<b>flynet </b>
http://www.flynetviewer.com/public/community/Blogs/FlynetXcelsiusServerUser/default.aspx
Except this 2 purchase add-on xcelsius, any other solution ?
Maybe need to write some in MSSQL or C# programming which enable insert, update, delete ...etc ?
*note: i not use Xcelsius Engage Server , i use Xcelsius Engage only
thanks,

Edited by: Leong Pui Kee on Mar 1, 2011 6:06 AMHi,
As of now in Xcelsius/Dashboard Design there is no feature or functionality to insert/update/delete data from database.
Solution:
Create a Web service in let’s say C# or Java, which will perform insert/update/delete operation.
In Xcelsius add Web Service connection and user above web service.
Xcelsius Web Service connection provides option to pass input values to a Web Service (Input Pane) and get the result (Output values pane).
We can pass values to be written to the database as a input to Web Service via Web Service connection from Xcelsius and write data to the database.
Note:
Performing delete operation from Xcelsius Dashboard could be risky and may delete important data from database. I would not prefer giving delete option/functionality in Xcelsius dashboard.
Hope this helps!
Thank you.

Hi All:
I have to delete a Web service from a CAF application, but I don´t know what is the supposed process to follow for doing it. Sometimes I want to delete it from the application composite perspective but continue appearing.
regards.Hi Martinez
Before deleting that External service I would suggest you to do following which might solve your problem, looking at your build error it seems
The web service which you imported as External Service was generated out of another CAF Application Service OrgApp
and I guess it is in another dc or project because of which you are getting Error: is not a valid return type for
the web service method getStatus, had the two Application Services been in one project or dc you would not have got this error. so what you can try is if return parameter for the getStatus method is a Java dictionary structure or constructed out of java dictionary simple types in OrgApp Application Service then goto to java dictionary project for that dc and expose it simple type or return type structure for getStatus method as public part ( both api & sda should be exposed ) come back to user dc or CAF Application Service
which want to consume that web service as External Service goto to dc Metadata folder ( development configuration perspective inactive tab for trac CAF Main dc) and in Used DC add the exposed public part( both api and sda ) keep dependencies check box checked for build time and reload and rebuild your project your problem should get solved
if still problem does not get solved delete web services that are like external services in other component. First ensure that the external service is not added in dependency tab of any other Application or Entity Service then Simply right click on that External service in your CAF Perspective and delete it. and rebuild your dc again
this should solve the problem & dont forget to award points for previous answer & for this answer if your problem gets solved
Thanks

How can I o create, modify or delete users using OIM 11g web services?
Hi,
I have a requirement to create, modify or delete users using OIM 11g web services.
The end users will be signing on to the online application, a user interface to request ids online. The user interface is the home grown application to request ids.
I want to integrate this user interface with OIM 11g. I generated the java classes using the out of the box wsdl file as mentioned in the Developer’s Guide for Oracle Identity Manager 11g. But I need to know how to create users using web server client from a given wsdl file? Is there a sample web service client program to create a user in OIM?
If you know of any document which I can follow or if you can give any details I really appreciate.
Thanks and Regards,
VirafHi Chong,
Were you able to figure out the approach? I am facing the same issue like this. I have created a web service where the input values are no. of days to extend user's end date and user's employee ID. Output will be true or false. But I am getting error while searching user in OIM DB. I think my web service is not to query OIM DB
Please let me know if you have worked on this senario.
Thanks,

Web Service from stateful Session Bean deleted after server restart
Hi,
i created a stateful session bean and from this a web service.
I am able to deploy it and it works really fine.
My problem is: after a server restart the web service is gone and i
have to deploy it again.
I have some other web services (but these are web services from stateless session beans)
but they "survive" the server restart.
I don't want to deploy the web service after every server restart, did I forget something or
is it a general problem of stateful session beans or web services?
Thanks in advance
JensHello Björn,
I am not quite sure what your problem is but did you have a look at these articles:

WSUS not working completely, no MMC connect, all web services are not working
Hello all,
I have a problem not sure what causing it or what is the source of it as I am not into WSUS that much...
THe status is as follows:
I have 1 server 2008 sp2 RTM x64, I had WSUS 3.0 SP2 on it since a while, it was working fine until a week ago, when I started receiving the below messages in the event viewer
I have spent too much time trying to trace or troubleshoot this issue, but all I got was to check the registry and check permissions on the temp folder and other folders, I have done complete removal with the database for the old WSUS and reinstalled it
again but I got the same problem
Nothing strange and no problems happened on the server perior to this issue, it just happened...
Any help will be appreciated
Regards

Saleh RamadanSo, in reality, this issue has nothing at all to do with "it was working; now it is not", because you've destroyed all of the evidence that would exist in a "was working; now is not" scenario. What we really have here is a NEW installation that has failed.
So, from the perspective of a NEW installation that is not working...
Are there any other roles, features, services, or applications installed on this server?
Did you install the Web Server Role exactly as described in the documentation?
Did you install the WSUS Role exactly as described in the documentation?
Were there any other roles, features, services, or applications installed onto this server
after your original (working) installation of WSUS?

Oh, well, I have red and followed the documentation exactly step-by-step on the technet library, and I can guarantee you nothing went wrong because this is not my first installation for it
When I told you about the old damaged installation and the new installation which is also failed and showed me the same symptoms as the old one, I was sure that nothing wrong with the WSUS itself, but rather it is something wrong with the environment
Answering to your above questions, the answer for all is that: that server is only used for WSUS, nothing more
Anyway, I have managed to restore the service thanks to your previous reply where you point to the CONFIG folder inside the NET framework folder, I checked the files in there, some were changed to the date I think has stopped the service, so I repaired the
NET framework 2, and restarted
It is working fine now and syncing with the update server

How to add a new filter in an existing web service method (BIWS - WEBI document)
Hello Experts, we have 7 web service query's connected to a dashboard. Basically it is one WSDL URL and 7 Get Methods...Web service queries are BIWS (via WEBI document instance). There are filters setup for each of these web service methods.
Recently there was a request to add 2 new fields to the webi document and also the 2 fields need to be included as filters in the 7 methods. I know there is an option to edit the method, but when i edit the method, i cannot find the 2 new fields in list to set as filters. Can anybody help me understand how to add filters to an existiing web service method? I do not want to delete the method and republish the block as web service.
Any help will be great and points rewarded.
Thank you
AnnHi Ann,
The reason you are not able to see any of the new columns as a option to select in your web service block is because when you have published that block, they were not present. Add these two new objects in your block and publish it again. You will be prompted for duplication content. Select the highlighted block for duplicate and now you can see the new added objects in the filter option. Update and this will overwrite your published block. Please note, web services do appear to behave weirdly when used with dashboards so I request you to please try it in a separate test report first.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Tanisha
