Web service: Cannot remove WSS security setting

Hi,
i have a problem about developing web service with jdeveloper 10.1.3.1
The problem is that ---> once i have add the security to the web service
(through the web service wizard .. i,e, right click the web service and
select "Secure Web Service'), i CANNOT REMOVE the security setting using
the web service wizard...
call the web service always say missing wsse:Security SOAP header..
do anybody have the solution?
thank you...

Hi,
the issue is still there in 10.1.3.3, and it must be somewhere on JDeveloper or OC4J side. Moreover, it's not limited to removing security settings, as the situation (old settings remembered) is the same when editing security settings.
lsp,
before regenerating a web service and its xml files (editing security properties), make sure you have cleaned the project and then you can try deleting the oracle-webservices.xml file from your project directory, because JDeveloper does not seem to be willing to overwrite it during regeneration.
If this does not help and you are using embedded OC4J, you can try the following steps before running the web service again:
- delete the embedded-oc4j/application-deployments/current-workspace-app directory, because it contains an oracle-webservices.xml file which may be outdated,
- empty the contents of embedded-oc4j/config/wsmgmt.xml, because it contains security settings for web services you have deployed so far, which also may be outdated,
- restart JDeveloper :)
Note that these are just guesses to solve the problem. Unfortunately doing all of these did not solve it for me.
So if anybody has some more ideas, we'll be happy to hear them.
Thanks,
Patrik

  • Error during JNDI lookup Accessing Remote EJB (access to web service restricted using declarative security model)

    Hello everyone,
I developed a Web Service prototype accessing remote EJB using the EJB
control with special syntax in the jndi-name attribute: @jws:ejb
    home-jndi-name="t3://10.10.245.70:7131/AccountDelegatorEJB"
Everything works fine, but I get an error when I restrict access to my web
service with a declarative security model by implementing steps provided in
    help doc:
    - Define the web resource you wish to protect
    - Define which security role is required to access the web resource
    - Define which users are granted the required security role
    - Configure WebLogic Server security for my web service(Compatibility
    Security/Users)
I launch the service by entering the address in a web browser. When prompted
to accept the digital certificate, click Yes, when prompted for network
authentication information, enter username and password, navigate to the
Test Form tab of Test View, invoke the method by clicking the button and I
    get the following exception:

I have a simple Hello method as well in my WebService (which is also
restricted) and it works fine, but remote EJB access doesn't. I tested my
prototype on Weblogic 7.2 and 8.1 platforms - same result.
Is that a bug or I am missing some additional configuration in order to get
that working. Has anyone seen similar behavior? Is there a known resolution?
Or a suggested way to work around the problem?
    Thank you.

    Andre,
It would be best if this issue is handled as an Eval Support case. Please
BEA Customer Support at http://support.beasys.com along with the required
files, and request that an Eval support case be created for this issue.

Note: inter-domain communication is configured properly. The Web Service to
remote EJB works fine without a declarative security.
    Any other ideas?

    Andre,
It seems you are using the URL
    jndi:t3://secuser1:[email protected]:7131/AccountDelegatorEJB
whereas you should not be specifying the "t3:" protocol.
    The URL should be like
    jndi://secuser1:[email protected]:7131/AccountDelegatorEJB
Please do let me know if you see any issues with this.
Note that this will only allow you to access remote EJBs in the same WLS
domain. For accessing EJBs on another domain, you need to configure
    inter-domain communication by
following a few simple steps as mentioned at
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ConsoleHelp/jta.html#1106135. This link has
been provided in the EJB Control Workshop documentation.

    Andre,
Can you try using the following url with username and password
    jndi://username:password@host:7001/my.resource.jndi.object ?
once you add webapp level security, the authenticated is the user who
    invokes the EJB.
    http://e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/workshop/guide/controls/ejb/con
    CreatingANewEJBControl.html?skipReload=true
has more info on using remote EJB's.
    Hope this helps.

i cannot remove my security questions...why?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.
The option to have a reset email set will only appear to people who've set up a rescue email address. Doing this requires supplying two of the answers.

  • Polycom CX 600 - Certificate web service cannot be found

    Hi All,
I know, there are some same issues in the forum, bot those are not helpful for me. My problem is the same, via network cable (using just DHCP) the Polycom CX 600 Lync Phone are not able to sign in (however 1 month ago it was), returning the error message:
'Certificate web service cannot be found.'
I've double checked the DHCP options and all of them are OK! We are not using Windows DHCP, but the options are right, the 43 option containing the proper hexa value, the sub-options are also valid. From the DHCP log I can verify that the device got the
options, but the phone still not able to sign in.
From the browser I cannot open the device, by it's IP, just with FTP:\\'IP'. There I could find a .clg1 log file, but it not containing useful information for me.
This is the link of the log file: http://speedy.sh/XAgMT/system.clg1

Has anyone ever consumed an external web service with SSL certificate security? How do you import this in your Web Dynpro project?
    Cheers!

    Hi Alain,
I just checked on a newer NW environment (NW 7.2) and was presented an empty list as well... It seems the mapping procedure I described is deprecated since NW 7.11, and the modeled CAF application service is already exposed as a web service.
You may want to have a look at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/43/f173947bbb025be10000000a1553f7/content.htm or http://scn.sap.com/message/7852996 for more info

  • Why is the web service cannot be invoked?

    Hi Experts,
Scenario: I have created a web service from a function module from SAP CRM using SOAMANAGER. I wish to invoke this web service from Data Services.
I have tried to invoke the web service using the 2 types of data store avaible in Data Services:
    - One Web Service datastore
    - One Adapter datastore
Both have the same WSDL URL and I see the defintion of the web service in both. Fine.
    I created 2 dataflows:
    - One invoking the function from the Web Service datastore
    - One invoking the function from the Adapter datastore
When I execute the batch job, I get different errors in the 2 dataflows, but the root cause seems to be the same: it cannot access and execute the web service.
    - In the dataflow using the function from the Web Service data store, I get the error RUN-248005 There is no response for thte web service. Ensure that the network, web server, and service are running properly. Also ensure that the service call time out is set properly
    - In the dataflow using the function from the Adaptor data store, I get the error RUN-058110 Error calling function. Web Service client unable to invoke Web Service Server. Error: (0)null
I have checked the Data Integrator documentation and nothing is mentioned on what is a proper time out setting.
I have followed the white paper of Michael Eaton [Building Data Integrator Real Time Jobs and Calling Web Services|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20bd5e60-11f9-2b10-2bbb-b5109cceff08?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]. Nothing is mentioned in there in regards of special configuration. Yet, my scenario is a bit different here as I am using and external web service and not a published web service from Data Services.
Is there some Data Services configuration missing here? The web service is not secure: it as the lowest level of security, which is NONE! :).
What am I am missing :(?
Thanks a lot & Best Regards
    Isabelle

    Hi Manoj,
Thanks for the tip, unfortunately it still doesn't work.
I had posted a thread to the web service forum [Re: How to get the http.proxyHost and http.proxyPort?;. I was given the tip to invoke the web service using SOAP UI ([www.soapui.org]). I was able to invoke my web service and execute the service successfully! That's one win!
Yet, in DS it still doesn't work :(. I have:
    - Added the Dhttp.proxyHost and Dhttp.proxyPort in the Additional Java Launcher Options in DS Management Console. I am not sure I have the right ones though. I think I might have the wrong values. I will recheck. Yet, when using SOAP UI, I don't need it so I am wondering why DS needs this.
    - I have added the user/password in the adaptor datastore where the WSDL is specified.
I couldn't find any documentation related to the possible options for Additional Java Launcher Options. Where is this documented?
Thanks for your help & Best Regards
    Isabelle

    Hi Kiran,
Here are all steps You need to do
"Securing Web Services using JDeveloper and WS-Security" http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/howtos/securews/index.html
    Set username and password:
(...)myPort= new ServicePortTypeClient(); //<- Your webservice port class
    // security
    myPort.setUsername("exampleuser");
    myPort.setPassword("examplepassword");
You don't need to write more code in java.
    I hope it helps.
    Kind regards
    Hubert M.

  • JAX-WS web service - "Cannot find dispatch method"

I'm getting the same error response every time I send a request to my JAX-WS web service:
    <ns2:Fault xmlns:ns2="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns3="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
       <faultcode>ns2:Client</faultcode>
<faultstring>Cannot find dispatch method for {http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope}Envelope</faultstring>
</ns2:Fault>I've tried using JAX-WS RI 2.1.7 and 2.2 on my Tomcat server, but both return the same error response. It will return the WSDL just fine (when "?wsdl" is appended to the endpoint URL). I used "wsimport" to generate the necessary Java classes from my WSDL--it used JAX-WS RI 2.1.6 (the one included with the JDK I guess) to generate the Java source files.
Other people online have had similar problems, but never with the SOAP element "{http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope}Envelope", always with things specific to their WSDLs like "{}reqParams" or "{http://www.telekom.at/eai/WSToCramerCSIRead}CSIRead". I set a debug breakpoint at the start of my SIB method and it doesn't even get that far.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

I posted here to benefit anybody who is looking for a solution.
The solution is to use WebServiceContext to get ServletContext, then use ServletContext to get parameters defined in web.xml.
    @Resource private WebServiceContext m_wsCxt;
    Then in method
    SOAPMessageContext soapCxt = (SOAPMessageContext) m_wsCxt.getMessageContext();
    ServletContext servletCxt = (ServletContext) soapCxt.get(javax.xml.ws.handler.MessageContext.SERVLET_CONTEXT);
    }

  • Database Native web services - load balancing,  Instrumentation , security

    Hello –
I’m proposing use of Database Native web service in our company. Our architects are asking following questions so appreciate your help
    a.     How do you load balance across the DB WS (is there a way to use the F5 to detect downtime and balance the load across the DB servers)? We will be using RAC configuration with 3 nodes.
    b.     Our architect have security concern as user id/password information are in the web service URL, which may prove to be an issue. Is there a way to mitigate this risk?
    c.     Instrumentation in this approach (db native services) is questionable due to development/auto gen of the service logic from the DB itself. We may investigate wrapping the services with OSB to give us an additional instrumentation, policy enforcement, endpoint mediation and security proxy. Thoughts??
    d.     Architect are curious regarding any potential performance issues this may have on the DB server.
    Thanks

    Hi
We've recently begun using Native Web Services, intending to roll out this approach across the enterprise, but we've encountered 2 significant problems so far, which you may want to consider before proceeding ...
    1. NWS returns an exception if the underlying PL/SQL returns a null value - even if the PL/SQL has completed successfully, and null is a legitimate return value (see SR 3-6201969101 - it contains simple instructions to recreate the problem)
(I raised it in this forum but there were no replies - SOAP Fault when returning null from a Native Web Service Stored Procedure
    2. The sequence of values returned in the NWS response message is the opposite to the sequence declared in the auto-generated wsdl - i.e. schema validation will fail (see SR 3-6209016991 - it also contains simple instructions to replicate)
We have coded a workaround for problem 1. where we return <EMPTY> in place of null, and check for it in the client, but without proper resolution we're not prepared to use NWS elsewhere
As a workaround for problem 2. we removed schema validation, again not ideal
Both SRs were escalated 9 days ago, but are still outstanding
Incidentally our database is 11.2.0.1, but I've tested on 11.2.0.3 and both problems are still present
We also wrap the NWS services using an OSB Proxy Service, and came across the same security issue that you describe (b) - to provide the credentials required for the NWS, simply create a Service Account (containing the credentials) inside OSB and attach it to the Business Service which invokes the NWS (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/doc.1111/e15867/service_accounts.htm)

  • Web-services.xml, why is security not enforced (format improved)

    <pre>
    Hi,
Sorry about the lack of formatting in previous post.
    Running weblogic 8.1SP5.
Im having problems with the message style security, it doesn't seem to be enforced by weblogic.
The intention of web-services.xml (below) is that weblogic should authenticate the user according to credential info in the request header.
The console webservice testpage seem OK, it has user and password input boxes. But invocations fail with an obscure message involving
    AssertionError: Bad password type: wsse:PasswordText
A simple Axis based client (see below) with no security tags in the header can invoke the service with no problems, would expect it to fail on athentication.
Did I miss something in web-services.xml or does something general need to be set up in the server for this to work as intended?
I am pulling my hair out on this one so any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Rgds.

  • Can a web service query a database at set intervals?

Can someone verify if this is feasible?
I need to display live data via browsers .  I would like to have the query to the database executed server side and have the web service provide the data to the browsers.
Here is what I propose :
I would like to have a web service run on a web server for an intranet.
Have the web service  query a database every 20 seconds and update the data into a table or an array variable.
On the browser side I want the browser to refresh every 20 seconds with the updated data from the web service.
Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi ChrisTW1,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
Based on your issue, I suggest you can try to use the JS to call the web service to set the intervals. For more information about how to use the JS to call the web service to set the intervals, please see:
    http://www.codeproject.com/Tips/647322/Calling-ASP-NET-Webservice-using-JavaScript-on-Reg
    In addition, since
this forum is to discuss: Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor. If you have any issues about the set the
intervals for the web service, I suggest you can post this issue directly to the WCF forum:https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=wcf, maybe
    you will get more help.
    Hope it help you!
