Web service config

Dear All,
I need to call an external Web service from SAP, with some data and then receive back some data from this call. system = ECC6
I have just started into this new stuff and am not sure of the major steps involved.
-Do I need to create a proxy from se80 using a predfined WSDL from the external system??
-Can i then make the call to the service from withing standard ABAP or do i need some other development suite to make the connection
Many Thanks
Tony

-Do I need to create a proxy from se80 using a predfined WSDL from the external system??
Yes. But you may need to make adjustments, since some WSDL's contain sections that older versions of SAP can't handle.
-Can i then make the call to the service from withing standard ABAP or do i need some other development suite to make the connection
Yes, you just use the generated proxy classes.

  • Dashboards web service config file set up

I am new to dashboards and want to understand, how do we make a web service connection to the dashboard?
We previously had the web services set up and never got a chance to set it up, but now there is a need to set it up in our own machines.
The issue exactly being faced right now is:
we tried setting up the web service config file and it works when we execute it ( i.e. I get a URL) but it comes as
    http://localhost:2910/QueryService.asmx
which we tried using as  " http://localhost:2910/QueryService.asmx?wsdl " in the dashboard connection manager and i am able to get the methods (runSQLQuery etc).
When trying to see the dashboard in the bo Infoview, we get the below error:
To access external data, add a Cross Domain policy file  to the external data web server.
Please help me in understanding the issue and significance of all these things.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Khushboo

First of all change localhost to proper host name or IP address in connection.
You need to place crossdomain policy file in the root of the web server. Please check this for details:

  • Web Service config problem

    Hello,
I have configured a Web Service but I am stuck at the Url format. This should be the format:
    http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=party:service:channel
My problem is that I do not know the default port for Web Services and I do not have do not know what to put in the party field. I have a Service without Party. I hope somebody has a hint for me.
    Yours
    Sven Loesekann

    Hi,
port is 5<Central instance number>00.. The Central instance number is generally 00. So the port will be 50000.
If u are not using a party, then u need not fill any pary.. just carry on with Service and channel.
    Cheers,

  • Configuring the Task Gateway Service: Web Service Config = Single Service Config?

    Hello,
I am following the steps of the SAP NW GTW 2.0 SP06 configuration guide, and am a bit stuck on the section Configuring the Task Gateway Service. In step 3, we are instructed to choose the option Single Service Configuration. However, I don't see this option. I do see option Web Service Configuration and when I choose it, I am able to continue with the rest of the steps of the documentation.
Am I missing an option here or does the documentation just need to be updated where Single Service Configuration should read Web Service Configuration?
    Thanks!
    Jeffrey

    Hi Jeffrey,
I'm also configuring the Unified Inbox and I have found the service in the web service configuration and searching for Consumer proxy TASKFACADE.
    Hope that helps.

  • EJB 3 as a Web service

    Hi there,
Please guide me on how to expose EJB3 as a web service?
    My enviornment is
    WAS(Web sphere application Server) -6.1.0.17
    RAD-7.0.0.5
I am using JAX-WS for creating web service.
I have installed Web service feature pack for both JAX-WS and EJB3.
Any guide lines on how to do that or any link may be helpfull.
What I have learned is, " it is not possible to expose EJB3 session bean as web service". The service need to be invoked using a wrapper class.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Santhosh Karuppiah.

    Finally I found a solution.
I added into my project wsdl, java-wsdl-mapping and webservices.xml files the deployer process generated.
Then I removed unnecessary attributes from xml schema type defined in wsdl for my custom class and redeployed application.
Thank God deployer used my web service config files.

  • Integrating FIM with SAP using web services connector

    Hi
I am implementing the FIM web services connector to integrate with SAP. The MS connector config guide for SAP documentation seems to me missing some content or at least I think it might be written for an earlier version of
SAP than the version we are working with(different screenshots, options, etc). The version of SAP we have implemented is EHP6 for SAP ERP6 which I believe translates to ECC6.
SAP web services have been configured and FIM performs successful discovery of the wsdl endpoint and BAPI operations as expected. Our issue is that FIM fails to run a full import. From the digging around web service config and error logs two observations comes
    out:
    1. FIM Full Import workflow does not render correctly through the web service configuration tool and complains of a duplicate attribute "xml:space is a duplicate attribute on line on line 424 on position 103". Review of the wsconfig generated by the
webservice config tool points to an variable supplied to a construct the query to a BAPI of HR infotype 0006. Extract below:
    ...<InArgument x:TypeArguments="d:BAPIP0006L" xml:space="preserve">[If(Not IsNothing(addressInfo) AndAlso Not IsNothing(addressInfo.item), addressInfo.item, Enumerable.Empty(Of BAPIP0006L)()).
    OrderByDescending(Function(a) DateTime.ParseExact(a.VALIDBEGIN, dataSourceDateFormatValue, Nothing)).
    ThenByDescending(Function(a) Integer.Parse(a.RECORDNR)).FirstOrDefault()]</InArgument>...
I can only guess that it means the query should keep the spaces within the string it passes to SAP but this is where my understanding stops.
    2. SAP returns errors about not implementing a BAPI EMPLOYEE_GETDATA function which is not part of the exposed BAPI operations. Well the obvious solution to this would be expose this missing operation (which is undocumented in MS config guide) however this
BAPI is a core requirement to retrieve person information. I would be hugely surprised if this operation was not factored into the config. This makes me think that to understand this better I need to resolve issue 1 first and get the rendering sorted first.
Has anyone come across the above issues with a recent implementation with this connector? Or help point me in the right direction?
any help would be greatly appreciated!
    thanks!!

    Hi Joe,
you most probably missed the sentence "Add the required BAPI’s in the function group and select those required BAPI’s and click continue." in the "Connector for SAP.docx" document on page 8. In other words your webservice does not provide the required
    BAPIs.
In the "DefaultSAPECC_6.wsconfig" the workflows for import and export require specific BAPIs.
Also make sure that your Service Definition has got the same name as in the documentation and the workflow template.
I was fighting with this for the last 4 days but in the end got it working.
    Hope this helps
    Chris

  • Exception while exposing Application Module Methods as Web Service

    Hello Everyone,
I am working on Jdeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 version and tried to expose one method of application module as web service. To do this, i used "Service Interface" tab of Application module within Jdeveloper and Jdeveloper had generated all interfaces, stubs, code for the Session bean required for web service. I am now trying to "Test Web Service" from the implementation class generated then i am getting this error in Weblogic deployment. Any help/pointers would be highly appreciated.
I used another installation of Jdeveloper same version at my collegues desktop but getting the same error. Not sure, if this version of Jdeveloper is having issue in exposing application module as web service. I think that database related exception can be ignored as no database call is being made by the application.

  • Accessing config information in XML file in a Weblogic web service (JWS)

    Problem:
I have implemented a web service for sending emails and pages via Java Mail and SNPP respectively using WebLogic Workshop on the BEA WebLogic 8.1 platform. In the service, I use certain pieces of information that are currently stored in an XML file on disk. Also, in its current state, the web service is implemented with public methods directly in the .jws Java file and not as a session bean. The file read from disk is performed every time the web service operation to send a message is invoked. As we all know, the I/O files access is very expensive and a performance bottleneck, especially when it is incurred on every invocation of the web service ‘sendMessage’ [operation.
Without radically re-writing the application, I am looking for a way to improve the performance of the web service and can only come up with the following 2 ways:
    1) Move the code out of the sendMessage operation: Here, the main question I have is 'to where should I move it to'? I have seen in the WebLogic Workshop documentation that WebLogic Server maintains only a single instance of a Java class that implements a Web Service operation, and each invoke of the Web Service uses this same instance. In that case, I should be able to put the code in the constructor so that the files is read only at the time the class is instantiated, but a constructor in the .jws file that contains the web service operations itself does not seem to be invoked by the container (I tried to put a breakpoint in the constructor, but it seems that the constructor code never gets called)
    2) Move the configuration variables into some type of standard configuration file of WebLogic, something like web.xml or wlw-config.xml or jws-config.properties files. But I found that these XML files have an associated schema to conform to and do not provide any custom elements or attributes that I could add for my application(is that true?). Also, if I can somehow put the configuration information into any of these standard files, how do I access it from within the application 'without' doing a file read from disk? Are these configuration file items available in memory for access and use by the web service and if they are, what API can I use to access and use them?
Any and all ideas are welcome!
    Thanks!

I have been looking into a similar problem. Since web services are by design stateless, they aren't good for 'remembering' information between calls. Aside from a file read, the only other solution I have found is to use a database. You can make use of an entity bean or simply make some kind of JDBC call. I don't know if you need to stick with the config file, but if so maybe you could read the config data into a database once and then you might have faster access than reading from a file. I'm not sure about which would have better performace, but its all I have come up with so far. What parser are you using to read your XML file? Have you tried others to see if they have better performance?

  • Best practice for loading config params for web services in BEA

    Hello all.
I have deployed a web service using a java class as back end.
I want to read in config values (like init-params for servlets in web.xml). What
is the best practice for doing this in BEA framework? I am not sure how to use
the web.xml file in WAR file since I do not know how the name of the underlying
    servlet.
Any useful pointers will be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.

It doesnt matter whether the service is invoked as part of your larger process or not, if it is performing any business critical operation then it should be secured.
The idea of SOA / designing services is to have the services available so that it can be orchestrated as part of any other business process.
Today you may have secured your parent services and tomorrow you could come up with a new service which may use one of the existing lower level services.
If all the services are in one Application server you can make the configuration/development environment lot easier by securing them using the Gateway.
Typical probelm with any gateway architecture is that the service is available without any security enforcement when accessed directly.
You can enforce rules at your network layer to allow access to the App server only from Gateway.
When you have the liberty to use OWSM or any other WS-Security products, i would stay away from any extensions. Two things to consider
The next BPEL developer in your project may not be aware of Security extensions
Centralizing Security enforcement will make your development and security operations as loosely coupled and addresses scalability.
    Thanks
    Ram

  • Unable to Migrate web services with Config Migration Admin

    Hi,
I have created some web services in Soap Wsdls. In Config Migration Admin I don't see my web services, then I selected the SoapPublicWsdls and WsdlMerger componente, but when I import the file in the target, the wsdl is not imported.
How can I migrate the wsdl defined by me to other instance?
    Thanks

You have to "build" the component before the component can be seen by the CMU process. The component's manifest file is read to populate the CMU list, and the manifest isn't created until the build occurs.
Using CMU is a terrible way to migrate a component, (and can be problematic unless the component is dirt simple.) Since you have to build the component anyway, just take the component zip file you just built and upload it via Component Manager instead. Restart the server and you are done. (Uploading via CMU still requires the restart of the server.)

  • Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.

    Hi,
I am tryng to create a Flex Project, but got stuck with an error....
The Error is  Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.
Initially I download jboss-5.1.0.GA and placed it in C folder.
While creating project, I selected J2EE server,  selected remote object access service and LiveCycle Data Services...
In the next step, I de-selected the use default location for local  LiveCycle Data Services server.
In the root folder - C:\jboss-5.1.0.GA
    for Root URL:  http://localhost:8700/flex/
    Context Root: /flex
when I clicl Validate Configuration.. this is the error I get  Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.
I can't understand what is going wrong here....any ideas....
    Thanks for the Help.....
    Thanks

Run the wizard, select ColdFusion as the server technology, but don't
check the option to use remote object access service. Then, open the
project properties dialog, go to the Flex Compiler page, and add a the
    compiler flag: -services
    "C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\WEB-INF\flex\services-config.xml" (obviously
changing the path as appropriate). This flag is what gets set by the
wizard when you opt to use Flash Remoting.  -http://www.feed-squirrel.com/index.cfm?evt=viewItem&ID=77732
Above is a work-around/solution that was successful for me.  Below are screen shots of how I initially configured the project, following the above solution.
In the image above, notice how I didn't tick the "Use remote object access service" checkbox.
For the image below, the 'Y:\' value is a mapped network directory to my server (IIS) webroot, which is "\\windowsserver/Inetpub/wwwroot/".  Root URL is the name of my server.  Fill in the fields with correct values and hit finish.
Then navigate ( Project>Properties>Flex Compiler ) to this project's 'Flex Compiler context menu.
And 'W:\' is another mapped network directory that points obviously to my Coldfusion's WEB-INF\flex.
I hope that this helps.  As you may see, I'm hoping that this will help you and others that are likely to come across problem.

  • WEB-INF/flex/services-config.xml???

I am confused about this file and it's location. In my
    environment (MX
7.02/Apache/Linux) the WEB-INF/flex/ folder resides here:
    /opt/coldfusionmx7/wwwroot/WEB-INF/flex/
However, the server is configured to serve web pages from
    this location:
    /apache/html/
my /CFIDE/ folder is located at /apache/html/CFIDE/ but I
    have no WEB-INF
folder except in the default location that isn't served up by
    the web
server. As I understand it, for flash remoting to work, I
    must have the
WEB-INF/flex/ folder in the root of my web server or in the
    working folder
of my flex project ON the web server? Is this correct? If so,
    must I copy
the WEB-INF folder to my working web document root folder?
    I'm very
confused and so far have had HORRIBLE luck trying to get the
    most simple
examples to run between Flex and Coldfusion. I am hoping
    someone can tell
me what I'm doing wrong or at least point me to some
    documentation that
doesn't appear to assume you are running Coldfusion in
    Developer mode from
your local workstation (which ALL the samples appear to do).
Thanks for any help, I configured the coldfusion servers here
    so I can make
the needed changes, if I only knew what they were and the
    documentation
    hasn't helped me much.

  • Web service runtime Config - SRT_ADMIN_CHECK not correct

    Hello to all,
I have config the web service runtime as it is shown in note 1043195 or in help.sap.com:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/44/2bd53ecb69060be10000000a155369/frameset.htm
Now I check the configuration with the Report SRT_ADMIN_CHECK.
    The table shows following entries:

    Now my questions:
    1. How could I resolved the problem with the bgRFC destination is not operational?
    2. How could I activate the Data collector for monitoring?
    3. Why do not exists the ICF node /sap/bc/srt/pm and how to resolve this error?
    Thanks and regards
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
From what I can understand ,It seems like the node /sap/bc is not active in sicf.
    Do the following:
    1) Logon to the ABAP Server
    2) Goto transaction "sicf"
    3) It takes you to the maintain services screen, click "execute" button
    4) On the next screen, under "default host", you can see sap-->bc
    5) Right click node "bc" and select "activate". Activate the entire subtree.
This should hopefully solve your problem.

    Thanks

    Hello 985754,
Unfortunately, you cannot import your own certificates into the wallet used by Application Express in the Database Cloud Service. However, this wallet already contains many common CA certificates. Unless the web service you are consuming uses a self-signed certificate, chances are you will be able to use this functionality in the Cloud.
