Web Service Error - No Result Tree to Report On
After successfully creating a web service reference and then using the 'Form and Report on Web Service' wizard I get an error, after defining the input items, at the 'Web Service results' Stage.
It states :
"No Result Tree to Report On
This Web service does not have a result tree in its definition that is appropriate for a report. You may wish to run the Form on Web Service wizard instead."
This web service returns an array of records and runs successfully outside of HTML_DB. Has anyone else had this problem ? I cannot find any information about this so far. I am using App Ex v2, 10g App Server and 9i (9.2.0.4.0) DB. The WSDL file for the web service is below.
Thanks

Hello Guru's,
we are creating sales order in SAP from a quote created in .NET, through Web Service created in SAP, and consumed in .NET.
When ever a order is created in SAP for a given quote, SAP returns the sales order number to .NET.
Orders are getting created as expected, but once in a while we are getting the following error from webservice :
Web service processing error; more details in the web service error log on provider side (UTC timestamp 20140609173429; Transaction ID 4DFCEFE33301F1EBB5CE00155D0B4530)
But the problem is order is getting created in SAP for the perticular quote for which we are getting the above error and this order number is not getting returned to .NET.
Upon analysis in TCODE SRT_UTIL for the above transaction ID, has the following details , which are hardly help full to resolve the error.
----TYPE CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
----ERROR_TEXT The database returned a value containing an error
----CX_SY_NO_HANDLER
-----CLASSNAME CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
This Exception raised by Web Service application
Could you please help in resolving this issue or alteast provide an approach for the same.
Thank you,
Suresh.Thank you Bhaskar,
How can we clarify whether the error is from SAP or Web part.
I have checked ST22, but there is not entry for the perticular exception transaction ID
My exception time stamp is

Web service works when tested, but a report on is blank
Hi All,
I have created a web service reference in apex using WSDL option. It works very well when tested.
Then I built a report on top of it. But I always see the message "no data found".
I even created the same web service reference manually. This also works fine when tested.But still a report on top of it is blank.
This web service does not take any input parameters.
I also tried the most popular Movie Information web service reference, and a form and report on top of it. Everything works fine for this.
I am wondering what could be wrong with my web service...?
Please help me with this.
Thanks and regards,
Deepika.Hi All,
As I already mentioned, the web service definition works fine when tested from shared components, but when I create a web service report or sql report with onload web service process, or a form and report.. nothing works.
Always I see "no data found".
It would be very helpful if some body could throw light on this issue.
Thanks and regards,
Deepika. -

Web Services Error When running Sample Application
When I was testing "Create a New Customer" from the Sample application in Oracle's provided free new HTML DB 2.0 environment (just out last night), I got the following error message.
ORA-20001: The webservice was unreachable because either the URL you supplied was invalid, or your environment requires a valid proxy server address for HTTP requests.
I was using my laptop through SBC Yahoo DSL service (dynamic IP address) to test this HTML DB Sample application.
Any suggestion for this Web Services Error?cckung,
Oracle's IT team has disabled the ability to call web services from htmldb.oracle.com. We are working with them to resolve this, but I don't have an ETA.

WSDL - No Result Tree to Report On
Hi -
I was trying to create a report based on web services. I got the below error message:
'This Web service does not have a result tree in its definition that is appropriate for a report. You may wish to run the Form on Web Service wizard instead.'
Am I doing sth wrong? even when I create only Form, then no data is presented.
How can I create a report based on data from web service when I have WSDL provided?
Thanks,
Tom

Hi,
I have successfully created a Restful Web Service Reference for Google Geocode API and I am able to test the service to give me results. However, when I use it on a form with report page and enter the same 2 parameters that I entered 4 minutes before when testing the page into the Form, and submit, I get following error which makes no sense to me since there is no ';' in the string I am entering.

Anyone else run into this? I am on 4.1 Apex on 11gR2.

Web Services with Large Result Sets
Hi,
We have an application where in a call to a web service could potentially yield a large result set. For the sake of argument, lets say that we cannot limit the result set size, i.e., by criteria narrowing or some other means.
Have any of you handled paging when using Web Services? If so can you please share your experiences considering Web Services are stateless? Any patterns that have worked? I am aware of the Value List pattern but am looking for previous experiences here.

Aswin Dinakar wrote:
I ran the test again and I removed the ResultSet.Fetch_Forward and it

The problem to me is similar to what Slava has described. I am parsing
the result set in memory storing the results in a hash map and then
emptying the post processed results into a table.
The hash map turns out to be very big and jvm throws a OutOfMemory
Exception.
I am not sure how I can turn this around -
I can partition my query so that it returns smaller chunks or "blocks"
of data each time(say a page of data or two pages of data). Then I can
store a page of data in the table. The problem with this approach is
that it is not exactly transactional. Recovery would be very difficult
in this approach.
I could do this in a try catch block page by page and then the catch
could go ahead and delete the rows that got committed. The question then
becomes what if that transaction fails ?It sounds like you're committing the 'cardinal performance sin of DBMS processing',
of shovelling lots of raw data out of the DBMS, processing it in some small way,
and sending it (or some of it) back. You should instead do this processing in
a stored procedure or procedures, so the data is manipulated where it is. The
DBMS was written from the ground up to be a fast efficient set-based processor.
Using clever SQL will pay off greatly. Build your saw-mills where the trees are.
JoeYes we did think of stored procedures. Like I mentioned yesterday some of the post
processing depends on unicode and specific character sets. Java seemed ideally suited
to this since it handles these unicode characters very well and has all these libraries
we can use. Moving this to DBMS would mean we would make that proprietary (not that we
wont do it if it became absolutely essential) but its one of the reasons why the post
processing happens in java. Now that you mention it stored procedures seem the best
option. -

My environment:
- JBuilder X
- Weblogic Platform 8.1
- Windows XP SP2
Here are my steps of implementing web services:
1. Write the Java code for the back-end components that make up the Web Service. Here's the method that handle the operation
public String testName(InputParam test) {
String inputName = test.getName();
System.out.println("Input name:"+inputName);
return "Hello "+inputName;
Here's InputParam:
public class InputParam {
private String name;
public InputParam() {
public String getName() {
return name;
public void setName(String name) {
this.name = name;
2. Since I use JBuilder X I configure everything including handlers chain through web services designers
3. Build project
If nothing goes wrong, I will get generated client jars and a war file with web-services.xml inside.
I have no problem when I implement RPC-style web services.
I got the above error when I implement Document-oriented web services, but
I have no problem when I use String as a parameter instead of InputParam class.
I tried to change some attributes that might be relevant but got no luck.
I've tried using clientgen command line as well but the result was the same.
Below are the guidelines for creating document-oriented web services from the BEA's document that I think I already followed
- The methods that implement each operation of the Web Service can have only one parameter. This single parameter can be of any supported data type. (The Weblogic web services toolkit support simple JavaBean, doesn't it?)
- The methods that implement each operation cannot use out and in-out parameters. (I'm not sure about this one since I got Holder classes after using clientgen. However, there's no <param> tag in web-services.xml.)
I found the old solution from support.bea.com (ID = S-25689), but I don't think my situation is the same. I got the error while building web services...not deploying a web service.
Any answers to this question will be very much appreciated.

Reply, Should have mentioned this before, I can't even turn agp on. I go into SMARTGART it shows AGP off, Fastwrites off. If I move the AGP settings to 4x, 8x, it says I need to restart to apply. After the restart it just resets it back to off.
get Driver Cleaner and remove curently ATI Drivers.

Please help - my Flex trial is about to run out and if I
can't get this to work, our company will not buy Flex :-(
In summary, I am getting the following error when attempting
to call a web service:
[WSDLError faultString="Element
http://tempUri2.org/:TestMethodResponse
not resolvable" faultCode="WSDL.BadElement" faultDetail="null"] ...
I then get some WSDLParser errors.
The web service has been implemented as a SQL Server 2005
Endpoint.
In SQL Server 2005 the HTTP/SOAP endpoints feature lets you
consume Web services mapped to objects in SQL Server. Unlike
earlier versions, IIS is no longer required. The Windows Server
2003 kernel listener, HTTP.sys, lets SQL Server listen for HTTP
requests and process them directly.
There seems to be some connection between Flex and the WS
being made as the "TestMethodResponse" is defined in the wsdl. I
understand that I probably need to have an crossdomain.xml
somewhere but don't know where to put it as there is no web server
involved.
Has anyone worked with Flex and SQL Server 2005 endpoints? Is
it possible to achieve what i'm trying to do?
Any help will be immensely appreciated ... time is running
out and if this doesn't work, it's back to boring old reporting
services for me.
HecCheers for the reply,
I am using Flex 2 with charting - no data services. I can
load the wsdl from a browser.
Using XML Spy I can create a SOAP request and receive a
reply. I'm guessing that Flex just doesn't like the format of the
wsdl and maybe won't be able to access the Web Service directly?
Details below.

Hec

Mail Connection Failures And EWS (Exchange Web Service) Errors
Hi,
I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard on Friday, and was able to set up my Mail, iCal, and Address Book very quickly and easily. Everything has been working great until today, when I experienced an issue with emails with attachments. The company I work for uses Exchange 2007 hosted on Rackspace.
When sending an email with attachments, I sporadically receive a connection error. This is the same error that I usually get if a server goes offline or I lose my Internet connection - the one where you get the choice to either try again, send later, or use another server to send the email. I will receive this error over and over, and can then send an email with attachments a few minutes later without issue, so it is definitely a sporadic problem. I have not had this issue with emails that did not contain attachments. On at least one occasion, an email with attachments was delivered to the recipient successfully but failed to show up in my Sent Items either in Mail or on the Exchange Server's web mail client.
Rackspace was unable to diagnose the issue, but they have had several reports of the same problem. I looked in the console and saw several errors logged by Mail, all which appeared to happen around the same times that I had the connection failures for the messages with attachments.

Just wanted to report this issue in case this is something that other people are experiencing, and to see if Apple's engineers could look in to it. There is a simple workaround, which is to set up a regular SMTP server as the outgoing mail server for the Exchange account, and to use this instead of the outgoing Exchange server set up by Snow Leopard.
Thanks,
