Web Service to Validate login information against LDAP

Hi Fourms,
I'm creating a web service that will validate login information against Active Directory Server. I'm starting with just validating the user, given a user name and password.
Right now all I have is the host name, the port number, username and password. I want to use socket connection and use it as a jar file in the application or a jdbc connection to LDAP and authenticate the user.
Please help!
Thanks!
Thanks,
Sunny1890

Actually I don't know the right method to invoke a web service. As I posted here they also give SOAP request / response envelop.
SOAP request / response envelop
POST /uszip.asmx HTTP/1.1
Host: www.webservicex.net
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
Content-Length: length
SOAPAction: "http://www.webserviceX.NET/GetInfoByZIP"
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">

    </GetInfoByZIPResponse>
  </soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>I just need to make a client to call this WS to get xml doc tree. I don't know static and dynamic invocation, which is the easiest method to go...
Do I need to study AXIS or any other API to call it, kindly recommend. I just need a client. Do I need to go with these SOAP envelops or I need WSDL to call WS methods?
Your guidance is valuable for me.
Very Thanks

    You need to enable JSSO if you want the oc4jadmin password to be in scync with the other AS products. If you just want to login with oc4jadmin you perform the following steps. PLease note that if you change the passord in EM you will have to make these changes again to keep the password the same. JSSO is a cleaner solution.
    To change the default password for the user "admin", follow these steps:
    - delete admin user
    - add admin user back
    - add admin user to the super user group "su1-grp"
    1. Go to OC4J_HOME/owsm/bin directory and modify manageUserGroups.properties
    user_id=admin
    user_name=admin user
    user_password=yourNewPassword
    user_email=[email protected]
    group_id=su1-grp
    group_desc=super user group
    2. Delete the existing admin user by executing
    wsmadmin manageUserGroups deleteUser
    4. Add the admin user again by executing
    wsmadmin.bat manageUserGroups addUser
    5. Add admin user to super user group
    wsmadmin.bat manageUserGroups addUserGroup
    The admin user password is changed.

  • How to pass preprocessing information to a web service report?

    Post Author: rmsky
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Does anyone know how a web service client can provide information to the constructor for a Crystal Reports web service report so that it can preload a non-trivial dataset prior to running a report. For example, if I want to load a dataset based on a user ID prior to calling SetDataSource, how do I get that user ID to the web service report constructor? If I pass a parameter into the report via the CrystalReportsViewer, is there any way to get access to that parameter at the web service? Thanks.

  • URL for WSDL only shows web service information page

    Using tomcat6 and jwsdp 2.0.
    After requesting the WSDL, I instead get the Web Service information page which shows this in a table form:
    Web Services,
    Port Name, Status, Information
    etc.
    Why doesn't it give me back the WSDL instead?

    The information page must contain end point wise information displayed.
    Each end point information contains web service address, WSDL address(you are looking for this I hope), Implementation class etc.
    Also, try giving *?wsdl* parameter at the end of your web service address, it must lead you to the WSDL file of the web service.

  • Problem connection to web service

    Hi ,
    I need your help. I would like to check the list item from the web service to validate the licence field. However I got the message
    getAllServiceNames is not function. I dont' know why??? I have spend a lot to time to fix but I it is not successful.  Please help.
    SOAP.wireDump = false;
    var cListURL = "http://......wsdl/";
    var e;
    try
    console.println("Start list retrieval");
    var service = SOAP.connect(cListURL);
    if(typeof service != "object")
    console.println("Couldn't get List object");
    if(service.getAllServiceNames == "undefined")
    console.println("Couldn't get getAllServiceNames Call");
    // Make the query
    var result = service.getAllServiceNames();
    if(result == null)
    console.println("List returned nothing");
    var count = 0;
    var limit = 10;
    form1.class1.body.licenceInfo.wellLicence.rawValue = limit;
    catch(e)
    console.println("Problem with list Call: " + e);
    Thanks in advance, Cindy

    Hi Cindy,
    The SOAP.connect() function should return a JavaScript object that is a proxy for the webservice and so should have a method called getAllServiceNames (if that is an operation defined by the webservice).
    I assume if you paste the WDSL address into a browser you see the WSDL definition.
    The error you are getting suggests you are getting as far as the line "var result = service.getAllServiceNames();".  Seems strange that you are getting past the line "if(service.getAllServiceNames == "undefined")".Maybe you could try a console.println(service.getAllServiceNames.toSource()) at this point and seeing what it actually is.
    You could also try setting SOAP.wireDump to true which will add some debugging information
    Are you seeing any of the 'Yellow Message Bar' messages in Reader (just under the toolbar).  If your form has been generated from a different domain than the website you can get some cross domain issues.  There is a log file under Acrobat's Preferences ... Security (Enhanced) ... "Cross domain log file" (you may have to restart Acrobat before the "View" button is enabled.

  • Call a Web Service from within an e-Sourcing script

    Hi Guys
    I would like to know wether anyone has successfully been able to call a Web Service from within an
    e-Sourcing script? If you have, can you please share your experience and code?
    Thank You

    Hi Faaiez -
    As with any use of Web Services, however, you should carefully consider the security issues that may come up. How, for example, will the Web Service server validate that the Web Service client (E-Sourcing) is properly authenticated? Will password information be included in the web service call? You will find that it is very easy to make a web service call, but I would encourage you to carefully consider security before implementing a productive solution.
    Web service calls can be made using raw Java web service APIs from the open source Axis library which is included with E-Sourcing; this approach is slightly more difficult to code, but very dynamic. Web service calls can also be made using proxies. In one solution that I worked on, we generated java proxies for the web service, compiled those proxies into a Jar file, and included that jar file as a custom jar in E-Sourcing. Let me provide a few more details on each of these approaches.
    Using raw java web service APIs that are part of the Service and Call classes, I prototyped a web service call to Googles sample spell checker web service. Here is the code:
    import org.apache.axis.client.Call;
    import org.apache.axis.client.Service;
    import org.apache.axis.encoding.XMLType;
    import javax.xml.rpc.ParameterMode;
    import javax.xml.namespace.QName;
    String endpoint = "http://api.google.com/search/beta2";
    Service  service = new Service();
    Call call = (Call) service.createCall();
    call.setTargetEndpointAddress( new java.net.URL(endpoint) );
    call.setOperationName( "doSpellingSuggestion" );
    call.setOperationName(new QName("urn:GoogleSearch", "doSpellingSuggestion"));
    call.addParameter("key", XMLType.XSD_STRING, ParameterMode.IN);
    call.addParameter("phrase", XMLType.XSD_STRING, ParameterMode.IN);
    call.setReturnType( XMLType.XSD_STRING );
    String ret = (String) call.invoke( new Object[] { "googlekey", doc.getDocumentDescription()} );
    doc.setDocumentDescription(ret);
    This block of code does a very simple thing...it calls the Google "doSpellingSuggestions" web service with two parameters: a key provided by Google, and a string for which the spelling suggestions should be generated. I used the current document description as my sample string for the web service and I put the results back into the document description - remember, this is just showing how you can call the web service, not doing anything really intelligent or useful from a business perspective
    There is nothing special to E-Sourcing about the above code...this is really just using the Axis java classes to call a web service.
    The second approach that can be used is to generate Java proxies for the web service calls. The open source Axis library includes a tool called "wsdl2java". Using the WSDL for the web service, you can generate Java proxies. Java classes will be generated by the tool; these Java classes will then need to be compiled and included in E-Sourcing as a custom jar. Once they are part of the E-Sourcing deployment, they can be called like any Java API. If you were to examine the generated code, you would notice that it looks a lot like the raw web service code shown above...the generated classes really just provide a simpler interface to the same functionality.
    You can see this information and other E-Sourcing information at my blog at: http://www.sunshinesys.com/

  • Presence data from web service

    Hello,
    i like to get presence data from the presenceconsumer web service. But everytime a call getUserPresence i get a PolicyException (POL0002): 'Privacy verification failed for address %1, request is refused'.
    I use a web service proxy generated from the wsdl of the presenceconsumer web service. Authentication is made against the appregationproxy by setting username and password. Both users (the one i use for authentication and the one whose presence data i want to get) are registered in the timesten database.
    The user whose presence data should be accessed is logged in the OracleCommunicator and has the other user on the allowed list for presence data.
    All other operations of the presence web services work without any problem, so why not getUserPresence?
    Thanks for help

    Hi,
    I have found the problem and fixed it :)
    If you see my code, I was checking for the pending subscriptions after publish() method. When I tried this check before publish() method, I got the expected results (All the pending subscriptions).
    Also, I got an error (ServiceException) while dynamically retrieving the subscribed attributes for some reason. I have found an alternative solution, by manually allowing only the PresenceAttributeType.Activity (instead of all getSubscribedAttributes()).
    Note: This code was working fine in my local machine because, I have already setup-ed the users (Buddy list) through Oracle communicator in my machine. I was not able to install OC in the VM for some reason though OS is same in both my machine and the VM (OS: Windows 2000 SP4).
    thanks & regards,
    S.Vasanth Kumar.
    My latest code for your reference.

  • Web service appears to be ignoring values for destination and parameters.

    I'm on my long trek trying to get a report to export programatically from CRS2008 to a pdf in a folder.  The good news is I'm almost done.  The bad news is I can't seem to figure out where I'm going wrong.  I've cobbled together some code and it works (doesn't die).  The only problem is whatever I set the destination to be it always gets overridden by the defaults in the report.  The same goes for the parameters.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    To invoke the web service, we are just using the JavaScript code that has been generated by BPEL Process Manager. The call looks like:
    function invokeSync (url, xmlDoc) {
    var req = null; if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {
    req = new XMLHttpRequest();
    } else if (window.ActiveXObject) {
    req = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
    if (req) {
    req.open("POST", url, false);
    req.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "text/xml");
    req.send(xmlDoc);
    return req.responseXML;
    I have been able to invoke other web services using exactly the same function. They all seem fine.
    I am even able to use an AXIS type client to invoke the BPEL web service from Eclipse.
    Advice??? This definitely appears to be some sort of bug?
    Thanks,
    BradW

    check out 102.InvokingProcess/ws tutorial .. which uses axis .. or generate the client based on the wsdl that you can retrieve from the bpel console / click on the process/ and then wsdl tab ..

  • Web Service: Response has null value and no exception is thrown

    Hi
    I have generated a Web Service Proxy in JDeveloper 11gR1 against a web service.
    My problem is that if I try to invoke the web service programmatically the only property on the response object has the null value. I can inspect the response in the Http Analyzer and it seems to understand and display content of the response properly.
    I have debugged the service proxy and discovered that the set-method on the property is never called. No exceptions are thrown, so it is very hard to see where to start solving this issue!
    Any ideas?

    When a webservice provides a response that is not valid according to its wsdl, a webservice proxy in 10g will give useful error messages such as "Missing element 'xxx'."
    In 11g the web service proxy simply sets non-valid values to null, quietly accepting the invalid response. Is this the intended behavior?
    Is it possible to enter a debug mode, where the webservice response is validated against the wsdl as in 10g?
    I appreciate any help on this question.
    Thanks!

  • How to Remove & Re-Enable Web Services on LaserJet printers supporting ePrint

    If your LaserJet printer has been disconnected from or failed to connect to Web Services, you may need to power cycle your printer to reconnect.  If that does not resolve the problem, you can remove web services, wait 30 seconds, then re-enable web services to re-establish your connection to ePrint and Print Apps. Note: this last step will result in a new email address being assigned to your printer.
    How do I remove HP Web Services for my LaserJet printer?
    Print a configuration page from your product, and locate the IP address.
    At your computer, open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line and press Enter. The HP Embedded Web Server opens.
    Click the HP Web Services tab.
    Select the option to disable Web Services.
    How do I enable or re-enable HP Web Services for my LaserJet printer?
    To use HP ePrint, you must first enable HP Web Services.  Re-Enabling Web Services uses the same procedure as enabling the Web Services.
    Print a configuration page from your product, and locate the IP address.
    At your computer, open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line and press Enter. The HP Embedded Web Server opens.
    Click the HP Web Services tab.
    Select the option to enable Web Services.
    When Web Services are enabled, ePrint information appears in the HP Embedded Web Server. Look for the e-mail address that is automatically assigned to the product. The product also prints an HP Web Services information sheet that contains this e-mail address and instructions
    If you were unable to register your printer in www.hpeprintcenter.com within 24 hours of printing your information sheet, you must re-enable the printer code by reprinting your information sheet.  The information sheet will also provide your email address if you have forgotten it.
    How do I print the Web Services Information Sheet for my LaserJet printer?
    You can only add the printer to your HP ePrintCenter account within 24 hours after printing the information sheet.  You can re-print the information sheet at any time from the printer control panel.
    Print a configuration page from your product, and locate the IP address.
    At your computer, open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line. The HP Embedded Web Server opens.
    Click the HP Web Services tab.
    Click the Print Information Sheet button.

  • Errors trying to Invoke web service using BES and SIF

    Moved this up from the Integration Forum to see if I can get some visibility on it.
    Description : When an invoice get's approved we need to pass on the details of the invoice and approval to the 3rd party customer.
    So far I have been able to test the business event which calls the web service that writes the information to a file. However, although the file is created there is no content in the file.
    So the steps up to this point
    1. Create a simple web service that takes a string as an input parameter and writes this out to a file.
    2. Locate the Approve Invoice event [oracle.apps.ap.event.invoice.approval] and add a new subscription that will invoke my web service.
    I have a number of issues at the moment.
    From the business event page I can test the event which writes a record to the wf_java_deferred queue. I have been able to call the service and create a file however that seems to have stopped working. Where do I look to see what's going wrong? Is the diagnostics the best place to start
    If I go into Status Monitoring I can see the last Business Event test I did is now having errors when it tries to invoke the web service. The error I get is

    How do I get access to the payload? I only really need 2 or 3 items at this time. Do I need to extend a seeded java function? For example in my initial tests I only want to pass across the Invoice Id so how do I get the value of this attribute out of the wf_event_t (Is this the correct object name) and into the payload that is being passed across to the service call.
    Cheers
    Owen

    Hello Owen
    I am experiencing the exact same issue as you are (missing payload) when invoking a web service and was wondering if you have resolved this issue or gotten any new useful information?

  • Add cookie to HTTP request header when calling web service

    I'm trying to call web service using JDeveloper 11g. I successfully generated web service proxy from WSDL document. I can successfully call this particular web service's method "login" which returns "session_id", which then needs to be inserted as a cookie in the HTTP request header in later calls to other methods. This is how the HTTP request header should look like:
    POST /webservice HTTP/1.1
    Host: registrar.carnet.hr
    Connection: Keep-Alive
    User-Agent: .hr domene
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
    SOAPAction: "https://registrar.carnet.hr/webservice#get_domain_name"
    Content-Length: 532
    Cookie: session_id=f3po0ba01a47gd64792151ee43a25765;
    How can this be accomplished? There is not much code that I wrote, everything is generated by JDeveloper's wizard...
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    try {
    RegistrarServicePortPortClient client =
    new RegistrarServicePortPortClient();
    client.setPortCredentialProviderList();
    // add your code here
    String login;
    login = client.login("username", "password");
    System.out.println(login);
    String myCookie = "session_id="+login;
    System.out.println(myCookie);
    *// what can be done to add myCookie to the HTTP request header?*
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Vishal,
    it's not a requirement but I wasn't able to create JAX-WS Style proxy from this WSDL: https://registrar.carnet.hr/wsdl
    The exception I'm getting is:

  • Asynchronous web service call using PL/SQL

    Hi Guys,
    i'm using Apex 4.1.
    Is that possible to invoke a web service asynchronously within PL/SQL code block ? If so,
    How can i access the return value of the service when execution of that web service completes ?

    We have (Oracle 10g) automated process (ETL) based on internal data. Now there is an offer to incorporate existing web service call (let's say for additional record verification) in this process. Service call (I do not know what type of it yet) is using data from remote database which is not ours.Web service calls from PL/SQL is not that complex. You can use the standard UTL_HTTP package as shown in {message:id=4205205}.
    I never heard anybody goes this way especially for ETL processes.Well, if you push a million rows through the ETL process and the call overhead for the web service call (assuming perfect network and web server response) is 1 sec, that translates into 277+ hours of runtime alone for the validation to be done via web service.
    So yeah - it would seem kind of silly to use something like a web service to validate large volumes ETL data.
